- Sean (1/5): Do not stay here - Good location I have stayed in hundreds of places around the world, and this was by far the worst experience I have had for cleanliness, presentation, service, and value for money.
We paid $3,626.70 for 7 nights during Formula 1 week in Melbourne, fully understanding prices would be higher. Because it was a non-refundable booking, I expected a high standard for that price.
Before arrival, the property sent clear instructions saying Anton would meet us in person at the apartment to hand over the keys. I contacted him in advance with our arrival time and he confirmed the apartment address. When we arrived, no one was there. After waiting in the rain with our luggage and trying multiple times to contact him using WiFi across the street, we were eventually told to collect the keys from a different third-party location. This was not what had been communicated.
The apartment itself was also extremely disappointing. It was small, very hot, and clearly not properly cleaned. The carpets and furniture were stained. There was a strong odour, dirty finger marks all over the walls / cabinets, black mould in bathroom, all skirtings dirty, black mould in kitchen, dining chairs ripped and stained and the place looked tired and poorly maintained. I had actually raised concerns before arrival after seeing previous reviews mentioning cleanliness issues, and the property had assured me they would have the cleaners pay special attention. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
There were also maintenance problems, including the patio door not opening because the key did not fit.
Because of the poor condition of the apartment and the terrible arrival experience, we did not feel comfortable staying there and had to find alternative accommodation that same night. During Formula 1 week, this was extremely difficult and far more expensive.
The property later claimed they had moved to self check-in, but their own earlier instructions clearly said we would be met in person.
- Grant (1/5): I would highly recommend to avoid this apartment and Advante Homes. The worst experience I have had. - Location is convenient for markets, Uni's, transport. Building facilities are ok. I have booked many places and this is the worst experience I have had.
REGISTRATION: It started with registration, Advante Homes requiring me to submit a lot of additional personal data I was not 100% comfortable with, then only to receive an email from them the following week stating they had a data breach. This was then followed by many messages on WhatsApp and SMS requesting me to click links, a clear indication my data had been breached.
CHECK IN: I was told I need to arrange a specific time to meet their contact Anton for check-in. Anton however would not answer calls and was often unresponsive on messages. It was very frustrating trying to arrange a time which was finally agreed. I was then messaged less than 1 hour before the agreed check in time to say I need to pick up the keys from a supermarket around the corner. On arrival and using the codes given the keys were not there at the agreed check-in time and I had to wait another hour in the supermarket before the cleaner finally arrived with them.
APARTMENT CONDITION: On arrival at the apartment I was shocked at the condition. One of the main bedroom blinds had been torn from the ceiling and was lying on the floor. This meant we had no privacy and no ability to sleep-in due to sunlight shining in. It took them 7 days to finally get it fixed despite our escalations and many many messages. The condition of the microwave was horrendous with food splattered everywhere in the top of it and resultant rust from it being left there so long. Hopefully I will be able to attach photos to show the condition. It was finally replaced days later. The toilet seat was loose and was constantly running, finally being fixed 7 days later.

There was no dishwasher (despite the information stating it had one). The lounge is filthy. The plates and cutlery were greasy.
