- Joel (10/5): -
- Katie (10/5): Great value gem on Bruny - Great value for money. 3 decent size bedrooms. Loved the two fireplaces, fully equipped kitchen & books and board games.
Beautiful setting. My kids loved playing outside and watching the animals. Loved the property, the only thing I would suggest is that people with mobility issues & kids under 5 be mindful of the stairs.
They are very steep and you almost need to crab walk up them.
- Chris (10/5): - Everything about this place was excellent. Wanted to stay longer. Will definately be back with binoculars for the fantastic wildlife, especially the birds. Having to leave.
- Michelle (10/5): - Everything! The property is stunning! Great location, I love their dedication to wildlife preservation, we were lucky to see the endangered Swift parrots, wallabies, pademelons & more! The cottage was perfect, so homely right down to the gorgeous towels, coffee machine & comfy beds. It was a privilege & I wish I'd booked more nights. Bruny Island is a hidden gem. Thank you Nothing to dislike

- Bronwyn (8/5): A quiet and secluded stay - Location was quiet and peaceful with wildlife and birds.
Clean, comfortable with lots of room.
Helpful local information sent by host Steep steps to the bedrooms upstairs.
- fairlie (10/5): We had a great time except - It was well stocked and homely. We enjoyed the open fire and the games. The stairs are a little steep but glad there is a toilet up there.
- YUAN (8/5): Very nice cottage, the owner really cares about the house and guests - Everything is organized, a very good place to stay. The front door lock doesn’t work properly
- Brooke (9/5): Nice and relaxing place to stay for the night on Bruny. - Secluded, cosy and loved the wildlife outside - just like home! And you had soy milk!! Just the stairs, VERY steep, but all good!!
- Duarte (10/5): Cosy and warm inside, wild and windy outside. - I loved the remote and wild feeling location - we felt as if were were tucked away at the end of the earth, surrounded by trees, wind and rain, with a roaring fire. Kitchen was well stocked for a cozy night in. The shower was hot, and there was a great selection of books, films, games to keep ourselves entertained. We didn't make use of the BBQ but it was clean and the BBQ area looked great, had we been there in summer. We had a lot of great recommendations for local produce and venues, which we did follow up, and everything turned out to be great. Wallabies in the garden were a nice bonus!
For the price, it doesn't get much better. I would love to come back as soon as I can. I honestly can't find a fault. It's clearly an old house, which may bother some, but I loved it.

- Sandra (9/5): Loved this place. Could easily have stayed longer - Beautiful setting. Characterful home. Very peaceful. Lots of different areas to relax in with open fireplace and lots of books and games to entertain Loved it all however stairs to bedrooms a bit steep if you had mobility restrictions
- Ya Yu (10/5): Stunning place - Cute and lovely stone cottage, also love the fireplace in house. There also have everything you need!MUCH MORE BIGGER than the picture!Highly recommend
- Mariia Shaiakhmetova (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Scott (9/5): Highly enjoyable in a lovely setting. - Loved the character of the property and the flora and fauna were lovey. Great location and lots of good information provided for local knowledge. Internal stairs were a little steep but not really a problem
- Neeta (8/5): -
- Megan (9/5): Beautiful and relaxing home with everything you need. Wish we could have stayed longer. - Beautiful home with a comfortable and lived in feel, providing everything you need including an espresso maker! Steep stairs up to bedrooms and one shower downstairs took a bit of coordination
- Helen (9/5): Authentic, cosy cottage - Very comfortable & homely cottage. Loved the fireplace, coffee machine, comfy beds & hot shower. N/A
- Naomi (9/5): This stay was a total time machine, evoking all the warmth of an 80s and 90s childhood. - Lovely location and cottage. Easy to find and was so peaceful. Garden was beautiful and the kids loved the wallabies. The cottage was very cosy and felt like another home with the fireplaces, boardgames, books and toys. Stairs are a little steep. The kids and adults were fine using them though.
- Denisa (9/5): A beautiful peaceful place - We loved the peaceful surroundings and the cosy rooms. There was everything we needed and more. Nothing
- lianqing (10/5): we all love this house, except we dont know how to use the fire place -
- Jaclyn (10/5): A truly beautiful home that makes the most of the peaceful surrounds. One night will not be enough! - Oh my goodness. What a beautiful house and location. We loved everything. It’s huuuuge. 3 bedrooms and multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces. So much beautiful and unique furniture. Literally every window looking out into nature. So glad we booked a second night but if you stayed here a week your whole nervous system would reset. Outstanding value for money. Thank you for sharing your house and allowing us to stay 🙏 we can’t think of a nicer place we’ve ever stayed. That we had to leave :(
- CARINA (10/5): A lovely restful night's stay for our family - Everything was truly wonderful - very cosy with an open wood fire and a well equipped kitchen - we particularly liked the finer features like flowering geraniums on the window sills - antique toilet roll holder and so many more. Thank you Jo and Con for a lovely restful night nothing
- Nicole (9/5): Private, relaxing and peaceful bush stay - We had a lovely stay here at the stone cottage at Bruny Island for my eldest daughters birthday. We were looking for a nice, quiet and relaxing stay, which we were pleased we had. We loved the open fireplace and looking out at the lovely bush setting.and seeing some wallabies. It was private and we didnt see anyone else around. My partner loved cooking on the gas stove and we had everything we needed. We will definitely come back at stage. We didn't like the weather during our stay, as it was so cold and wet and couldn't get outside to explore the property as much as we wanted. We had the fires going but a bit chilly upstairs still. Other then that, we were disappointed that we couldn't stay longer so we will definitely be back again one day soon.

- Scott (9/5): - This cottage felt like a real escape into nature, it was quiet and there was always at least one wallaby in the garden. It's spacious and there was a lot of kit in the kitchen (blender, mixing bowls etc). There were plenty of spaces to relax and the range of DVDs and games provided were excellent. There was everything (and more) that you could need in the kitchen, but with so many drawers and cupboards that it made it difficult to find things at times. This carries through to the lived-in, maximalist vibe of the cottage, which your opinion of will vary based on personal preference.
- Julien (10/5): Amazing cottage in a quiet location surrounded by nature - Amazing cottage in a remote, calm, and quiet location. Everything you need to disconnect and spend quality time with family in front of a wood fire, surrounded by forest and wallabies. One of the highlights of our trip to Tasmania.
- Jillian (9/5): Loved it. beautiful spot and very central to do what we wanted to do - Beautiful location and wildlife. Very well supplied with wood for fire and coffee and other extras Only one issue would be the steepness and depth of steps of the stairs. Quite ‘unforgiving’ edges 😬
- Shelley (10/5): Very cosy, enjoyable over night stay - Super cosy fireplaces (2 by!!!). The beds were comfy and had electric blankets for those cold nights.
Kitchen had everything you could need. Heaps of outdoor space for the kids - with a swing being a big hit
Lots of separate areas for large groups of people The stairs are rather narrow and might be difficult to manage if you are older or have poor balance
- Maxwell (10/5): Perfect - This property has everything and if you like to get away into the nature it is perfect. That I only booked a one night stay. I could have easily spent a month here
- Cooper (9/5): Absolutely breathtaking natural surrounds, accompanied by a homely atmosphere and everything you could wish for on Bruny - Absolutely gorgeous location, incredible property and perfect amenities for an incredible stay (if even only for a night). Thank you so much for the gorgeous end to our trip Only a couple of suggestions for future listings, to improve it for future guests:
- a rubber non-slip mat in the shower would be great, as a member of our party almost slipped while showering (hence why we had to lay a towel down in the shower to prevent slipping)
- a note about how steep the stairs are, as they were unsuitable for a member of our party to climb and hence was unable to reach the bedrooms (we made do but for future guests this info would be helpful)
Otherwise it was incredible, thank you!
- Helena (10/5): -
- Ya-Sin (10/5): - The place is peaceful and relaxing, and we even got to enjoy the company of wild wallabies. The owner provided everything we needed, and the beds were very clean and tidy. We’ll definitely come back next time. Everything is perfect.
- Lyn (9/5): - Beautiful bush setting. Loved the sitting areas and open fire. Comfortable beds. Kitchen was well equipped. Access to all areas of Bruny due to it's central location. Needed a bit of a dust and stairs are VERY steep up to the bedrooms.
- Anne (10/5): A perfect getaway in a serene location - The location was perfect. So much of wild life around. The cottage was so lovely that we did not want to leave. It was so close to everything we had planned to do. There was nothing not to like.
- Peter (9/5): Excellent location and house had everything one needs. However the stairs are steep so not for th - The serenity! Need updated instructions for DVD and cd player
- Kim (9/5): -
- Kath S (10/5): - Absolutely loved this place wish we had stayed longer.
- Hyejin (10/5): Great place for family and friends to visit! It’s perfect for animal lovers and for a group who wants to do a bbq and ha -
- Perry (10/5): character home in peaceful and private setting. Will be back. - Owners were great to deal with. Home was as described. Very cosy and characterful. Loved the privacy and peace and quiet. Animal life was a bonus. nothing
- Laura (10/5): Gorgeous home in nature - Gorgeous location, very spacious, very homely
- Jade (8/5): We loved our stay here, we’ll happily stay again. The wildlife was beautiful to watch in the morning. - It was very comfortable, facilities were fantastic, plenty of space, very cute wildlife. Service was spotty or non existent. It would have been nice to know that before getting there. Bit dusty & some of the dishes weren’t clean properly but nothing we couldn’t fix ourselves.
- Navreet (10/5): Amazing cosy getaway - Very cosy
Games for kids
Next to fire 🔥 just enjoy country life quite time
Books to read
Loved how linen was clean and fresh
Felt like home away home No wifi but that's totally understandable .
Wasn't prepared for this .
- Sally (10/5): Such a beautiful cottage - The location was amazing. There were wallabies all over the garden when we arrived. The facilities were wonderful and the cottage was very well equipped. It was a huge property and we had a lovely fire which made it feel very cozy. I only wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful place.
- Sophie (10/5): - Instructions were very clear and precise, there was little chance of us getting lost!
- Hsu (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): Wonderful relaxing experience making great memories! - The location, beautiful scenery, everything provided, lovely bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen….Enjoyed the copious collection of books and games. Only issue was the steep stairs, but we managed!
- mark (6/5): -
- Clappo (9/5): - The serenity of the location and the atmosphere of the cabin. Nothing
- Keri (10/5): - The location is idyllic. Private but close to the pub (and the bread fridge!). The house is beautiful and styled perfectly for the location. Nothing.
- Razor n Closey (9/5): - We lived the location the setting was fantastic if you love nature the peace and quiet the house had everything we needed and the host had the fire going before we arrived i would highly recommend it and we would stay here again We only stayed one night wish we had stayed longer
- Amy (9/5): - Cosy hideaway on Bruny, great place to disconnect.
- Justin (10/5): -
- Tyler (10/5): - Amazing Scenery, well sized - comfortable and homely
- David (10/5): We really appreciated the welcoming email and the cottage greeted us like a home. We will be back. - The house character and wildlife as well as the full kitchen and fireplace. Books provided were great. The stairs to the second level
- Tracey (10/5): - Beautiful, cosy and warm. The cottage had everything you could need!
- Natalie (10/5): Beautiful homely stay, perfect location and we couldn’t recommend more! - The property is beautiful, peaceful and quiet in a really great location on bruny island which was close to everything and a short drive from
The beach! We absolutely loved the country style feel and we felt very at home you can tell a lot of love and care has been put into setting this place up. We especially loved our little furry visitors in the backyard that made our day! couldn’t fault it!
- Ledson (7/5): - Was cold and fire very hard to start with wet wood
- kashing (10/5): -
- Graham (8/5): Beautifully appointed house in perfect lcoation. - Fantastic There was a mix up with our hosts understanding of how many in our party. We were requested to provide additional payment, even though we had indicated how many of us there would be when we booked.
- Maria (10/5): -
- Sabrina (8/5): - It is a beautiful house and very very cosy. Massive and love the fireplaces. Very well equipped kitchen and feels like home away from home. Have everything you need All bedrooms were on the upper level and stairs were a bit steep.. A bit inconvenient if you have to use the toilet, you have to enter one of the rooms or go down the steep stairs. There is only one bathroom for a party of 6 One of the room's electric blankets not working and is freezing
- Jiten (10/5): Exceptional - The host was really helpful and texted us before we arrived and let us know all the things we could do on Bruny. The place itself was lovely and very cozy. My family had a great time and we wish we had stayed for longer.
- Nicholas (8/5): Very good -
- Brent (9/5): Great place to stay with everything you need - would be fantastic in summer. -
- Eva (10/5): I will stay here again if I travel Bruny Island again. - Very cosy, got everything, like at home. Lots of toys to keep kids busy. Coffee beans taste good. Love the fire places. It was too cold and wet to go outside to play when we stay. Wish we’d stayed one more night to enjoy the outdoors of the property.
- Simone (10/5): A rustic getaway - The cottage is large but retains its charm with rustic features and neat garden. The game boards, dvds and fireplaces give a ‘home away from home feel’. It’s a beautiful spot and would suit couple or families looking for a break. The cottage takes a while to heat up, but retains its warmth if you keep the fire going.
- Tarang (10/5): Exceptional - This was a gorgeous cottage straight out of a fairytale. Conveniently located midway on Bruny Island. Fully stocked pantry and operational kitchen, including a coffee machine! Heaps of games and books to keep you busy if you decide to stay in.
The wood fireplaces brought a charm to the place and kept the bottom floor warm. All beds had electric blankets fitted so was warm and cosy once you got in.
My entire family loved it! My wife and I would definitely go back to spend a longer time in this beautiful cottage.
- Raeleen (10/5): Exceptional - Roomy, comfortable and close to all areas of the island.
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zikriati (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Experience an authentic Australian bush adventure, with native wildlife, tranquil surroundings - Highly recommend staying at Stone Cottage, the hosts reached out ahead of our arrival with clear instructions and information about our stay, food and the area. We saw a lot of wildlife, and the house was well-equipped with everything.
- Puiyee (9/5): Cozy and comfortable! - Cozy and comfortable! Nothing
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Panta (9/5): Superb - Excellent we Will visit again!
- Vicki (10/5): Comfortable and relaxing - The private location. Very comfortable home very well equipped
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Best accommodation in Tassie.
- Paige (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful spot and spacious, quiet, clean, warm cottage with lots of wildlife around. We highly recommend!
- Donald (9/5): Superb - A great cabin in a great spot.
- Donna (8/5): Nice country setting. Had a wonderful time and if stairs & heating were better, it would be amazing. - Loved that the property was private and away from lots of people. We had a problem with the bbq and the manager of the property sorted it straight away. The stairs up to the bedrooms were very dangerous and would not be accessible to the elderly or people with leg issues. This needs to be fixed before someone has a bad accident.
The wood heater door needs to be fixed ASAP as it was out of order and we had the open fire going but because the flue isn’t working as well as it should be, we all had to breathe in smoke fumes all night. We didn’t light it the last 2 nights and had to rely on a panel heater downstairs in the lounge-room for heating.
- Doug (8/5): Very good -
- Na (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anmolpreet (10/5): Exceptional - Great views and house
- Hazel (8/5): Unique location and experience - Location, wildlife, kitchen facilities, cleanliness and open fire. Information given and flexibility offered by host before our stay which was greatly appreciated. Top tip on the Bruny baker, we loved the bread fridge! Combustion fire in kitchen area out of order which meant the house was quite cold, steep stairs to upstairs bedrooms difficult with an elderly person
- Gigint2 (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Cozy, best for family bonding.
- T (9/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Stone house - Lovely house with plenty of room. We particularly liked being able to light a fire in multiple areas and enjoyed the board games provided! Would love it if there were English Breakfast tea bags and perhaps fresh bread as there were no shops close by.
- Julia (10/5): Tranquil cottage - Tranquility, nature, facilities, fire places, kitchen, time to chill and connect. The steps up to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow. A challenge for my mum but she’s amazing and managed.
- Kara (9/5): Superb -
- Vicki (10/5): Relaxing - Very well equipped very comfortable
- Nicole (9/5): Beautiful peaceful cottage on stunning property, every detail thought of. - The info Con and Lindsey gave us was really helpful. The cottage was gorgeous with so many different sitting areas and fireplaces. Such a well equipped kitchen and luxury linens, towels etc. So much wildlife around, a fantastic place in the middle of Bruny Island ,perfect for exploring and close to the artisan sourdough bread!
- Linda (9/5): Beautiful secluded cottage with plenty of room - It was a great size and could accomodate more people if required. We were in a party of 2 couples. There were 2 working fireplaces which kept the cottage lovely and warm. The only thing we needed to take was our food which we purchased from Hobart as there were no descent grocery stores on the island. The steps to go up to the bedroom level were extremely shallow and steep and quite dangerous when carrying suitcases upstairs.
- Jim (10/5): Great kitchen facilities with great coffee maker… everything for a family to stay the week… lovely setting and animals e - Everything you need for a long stay in comfortable and quiet country setting Nil
- Cheng-chung (8/5): Picture perfect stone cottage surrounded by abundance of wallabies that provides comfortable accommo - Tranquil surroundings that frequently visited by wallabies with classical stone cottage that provides modern facilities and comfortable accommodation Need to approach via unsealed road, narrow and steep stairs, persisting cloudiness that stays in the water even after boiling
- Arno (10/5): Exceptional - It was it in the forest so great wild life, and very peaceful. No wifi but we had one of the best nights of our holiday. Nothing we did not like.
- Thomas (10/5): Amazing - Beautiful cottage in a peaceful bush setting. Amazing facilities. Lots of wildlife. Great value for 1 or 2 families Only stayed 1 night
- Daniella (10/5): Beautiful Stay - Perfect. Everything we needed plus! Beautiful surrounds. Beautiful wildlife and gardens Nothing
