Guest Reviews
- Nick (6/5): Prima, maar niet als je luxe verwacht. - Prima appartement. De buurt en de buren. Beetje ruw volk in de wijk. Overal hondenpoep en ratten.
- Anton (10/5): I like it - I like it Because I like it
- Herez (5/5): - Very well located, only a 3-minute walk from the metro, which makes it easy to get anywhere in the city. The apartment is spacious and well equipped with a fully furnished kitchen, which was a big plus for our stay. Unfortunately, check-in was delayed by about an hour. We were informed quite late that the cleaning lady was running behind, which was inconvenient. The building itself isn’t very well maintained, although this is likely outside the hosts’ control.
One of the beds is extremely noisy and creaks even at the slightest movement, which is also clearly audible from the other room and quite disturbing at night. Additionally, the toilet and sink were clogged, causing water to come back up when used.
The windows are not soundproof at all, so we could hear everything happening on the street, which made it difficult to rest properly.
Regarding the neighborhood, there are quite a lot of homeless people and some unsettling situations around. It may feel uncomfortable, especially for women traveling alone. We were told this is fairly typical for Harlem, but it’s worth mentioning
- julio fdo (10/5): - Close to the metro, elevator working, host responded all questions. clean, good beds, all good, highly recommend. N/A
- Domenico (5/5): -
- Cédric (8/5): -
- Sara (5/5): - Limpeza e localizacão. Falta de condições básicas.
Preço exagerado.
- Aimee (5/5): We didn’t end up staying there because the location was so dodgy!!! Would not recommend -
- Jose (7/5): Cómoda - La ubicación La calefacción que no funciona independiente sino con el edificio central
- Michele (9/5): Best Quality-Price Ratio accomodation in an iconic borough of Manhattan - This is a well-furnished apartment located in lower Harlem/Central Park north. We were a party of 3 friends and rented a 2-bedroom with large hall, corridor, private bathroom, and kitchen.
It's 100m close to subway lines 2-3 (112st), and has plenty of markets, bars and facilities in the area.
Quality-Price ratio is exceptional for an apartment hosting up to 5 ppl in December (Manhattan is super expensive in such period). Obviously, do not expect a "royal estate", it's not like that, but it's a safe place to rest and sleep while exploring the most beautiful City in the Globe. Don't expect a 7star apartment, yet a nice, comfortable location, super-connected to the City.
Such Quality-Price ratio exceeded my expectations, and we're already missing Harlem!
We'll be back, promise.
- Charlotte (10/5): Couldn’t ask for a better place at that price. - Absolutely fantastic value for a lovely 2 bedroom apartment with a very spacious living room. I would love to stay again. Nothing!
- Ju (7/5): Reasonable priced for NY stay - Easy access to the under ground so easy, fast and cheap to get around NY
- Markus (7/5): -
- Mickael (7/5): Bon emplacement. Idéal pour 4pers - À 100m du métro qui dessert tout Manathann Appartement assez vétuste. Les informations pour récupérer les clés sont me semble-t-il volontairement erronées rendant l’arrivée stressante surtout si c’est de nuits.
- Xabier (8/5): -
- Delphine (5/5): -
- Shannon (8/5): We had a great week. - Location and two bedrooms Nil
- Scott (5/5): Spacious but noisy. - Close to the subway and spacious. Directions on how to get keys are confusing. Multiple lock boxes, directions say to pick up keys at another address. Need to coordinate better key access. AC units need to be replaced very noisy.
- Josie (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and convenient - The property was in a good area that was close to stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and the subway. I love that so much was in walking distance! The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable, too. The only complaint is that there weren’t enough towels.
- Mike (7/5): Good -
- Akanksha (1/5): Bad - The bed was broken. The elevator wasnt working.
There was dust everywhere in the apartment.
- Ning (7/5): Decent place close to metro station - The unit is clean with all the facilities you would need for a short stay, including even umbrellas. It's a nice brown brick building in a neighborhood that should be nice until recently but now has people on the street till very late. However these people don't bother you if you don't bother them so overall I felt ok even with my little walking on the street later in the night. You can imagine it's the Friend's apartment. The place is very close to a metro station and Central Park. The curtain and sound proof of the windows need to be improved as this building is of an u turn shape with its own little alley that one light in one room can shine on all the bedrooms facing the little alley for the whole night.... and there's a convenience store across the street that someone were hanging out till 2am for one night.
- Maggie (7/5): Overall the property was good once inside. - Location was near to relatives, that's why we chose that property. The beds were comfy. The shower was good. The bed linen and towels were clean and we had 2 sets each of the towels although we only used 1 set. The cooker was easy to use. The property was secure. The area was a bit rough, always people around, hanging on street corners. Neighbour hood was noisey at night. There was rubbish and rats outside the building. Decor needs updating in the property. The flat door key lock was difficult to use, could do with a new lock and key. When we arrived we couldn't open the flat door. Tried to get in contact with the owners, but did not get a reply. Persevered with the door lock for another 20 mins and got entry to the property.
- Paddy (1/5): Bad - The shower Very dirty, the photos must have been taken quite a while ago, I booked this for myself and friends and was very embarrassed at the dirt of the place from when we first entered the building, if you Google the word bliss this is far from it
- Anthony (8/5): Very good - Facilities, location and spaciousness Could've been better if we had more/better heating and some softer pillows
- Emil (8/5): Very good - Location, roomy, clean. It was very cold.
- Nick (8/5): Very good - Extra supplies in the cupboards like umbrellas and extra blankets etc… Toilet paper was rough going and the television didn’t work.
- Butt (7/5): pleasant and comfortable. - Location was a little noisy and the bedrooms were quite bright at night. There is a subway, laundromat, convenience store and other shops very close. The TV did not have the ability to watch the local channels. This was inconvenient as I couldn't have an evening in to catch a game or see the news and weather.
- Vladimír (9/5): Superb - Using the apartment just for the sleep over, because for whole days we were exploring NewYork downtown. But in overall we have everything we need. WiFi connection was working fine to send out videos and pictures in the end of the day and there is a small grocery store on a corner of West 112th and St.Nicolas , having amazing sandwiches!, breakfast etc.. and also a Claire's Cofee on the oposing corner.
For transportation we use the subway numbers 2 and 3 that are just around the corner and take you anywhere down the Manhattan, very convenient - also it was quite OK even on late hours, few junkies around, but just mind your own thing, give 'em a cigarette and continue :D
- Brandy (7/5): Great location, comfortable stay, and great communication. - The location was great, the furniture and beds were comfortable, and its was everything needed for a comfortable stay. Not have a full size refrigerator was not expected and lead to multiple trips to the store since we could only keep a limited number of item in it.
There were also some roaches in the kitchen, not many, but enough that it was noticed.
- Heiki (7/5): Good -
- Ashwath (10/5): Highly Recommend - excellent location, apartment was nice and staff went above and beyond for us :) nothing - it was perfect for our stay
- Josue (1/5): I didn’t stay here and I am paying for it anyway. It was a terrible experience. I do not recommend doing a reservation h - I did not even get into the unit as the minute I tried to get out of the taxi person in a car tried to rob us. Sadly, it was our first time in New York, and we didn’t know that this apartment is in a bad zone, our taxi driver from the airport, tried to warn us, but we didn’t want to jump to conclusions before reaching the apartment and seeing it. However, we were, terrified as we weren’t able to get out of the car with the luggage when a person approached us and tried to take out our belongings.
We had great help from our taxi driver who threw everything back in and drove us to a safe area.
I had to do an additional hotel reservation, and I tried reaching out to the owner of this apartment to try to cancel, they said they couldn’t cancel, I tried reaching out to booking who said that they got in contact with the owner and it ended up being my responsibility to cancel, even though the app didn’t show any button how to cancel the reservation. I tried reaching out to everyone and no one helped me. I wasted money on this reservation . It’s as if I just paid to stand in front of a building and had an attempt at robbery. I don’t want to tell to the rest of people that might see this comment that they might have the same experience, I am just sharing mine in hope that people don’t find the same price. Luckily enough, we had enough money to do our reservation in another place but I cannot imagine if you saved up money for this trip. It’s terrible, and it was a terrible experience. I cannot comment on the inside of the apartment as we didn’t even get into the apartment. We didn’t even reach the lockbox. When I tried reaching out to the owner, he said that he needed a police report and and that they were really sorry but there was very little that they could do to return any of the money until I canceled the stay, which I tried during the following days through booking app, also via email with the owner and the booking staff without any success.
- Ying (8/5): Comfortable Stay - Cute apartment and spacious enough for family of 4. Host provided necessary tools if we wanna clean up the apartment during our stay. Easy access to MTA and bus service. Host is very responsive to my queries. Building is a little old. Lift elevator is not working throughout our stay (10 nights) and very challenging to bring our big luggages up and down 4 flight of stairs.
- Natalie (9/5): Clean place, good deal - As someone on a budget, I didn’t want to spend too much on a hotel, especially since I spent most of my day out and about. The apartment was clean! And I was comfortable. The host was excellent and very communicative. The neighborhood was loud at night and felt unsafe, saw some activities, lol! Which I know the host can’t control. But the building itself felt safe. Although bc we didn’t feel comfortable walking, we spent more $ on transportation than anticipated. Also, the elevator didn’t work.
However, I would recommend this place, just be aware of your surroundings.
- Urmiladevie (7/5): Good -
- Blanca (4/5): Disappointing - It was a big space. It wasn't clean.
The place is very outdated.
Not enough towels for four guest staying 5 days.
The floors were filthy. The kitchen was disgusting.
There was only ONE AC unit, and it was located in the living room area.
The apartment was way too hot, and it was far too dangerous and dirty to leave the windows open.
The showerhead was 7ft tall??? makes no sense to put a shower head that far up.
The apartment was nothing like the pictures. It is dirty and the area was not safe. We were very dissapointed.
- Mariana (2/5): Worst and dangerous location - Everything was clean furniture wise and the beds were comfortable. The location is a little bit dangerous. Is not a good place to stay with family. It Is too close to Central Park but in the worst area. The towels provided smelled terrible.
- Harjo (7/5): Okay - Host is good. Very informative. Apartment is close to supermarkets so it's easy to buy necessities and very close to public transportation. Complete kitchen equipment Cleanliness from the entrance to the house to the elevator is very poor and smelly. Many people hang out between public transportation and apartment buildings
- Maureen (9/5): Very nice place, very convenient. Would definitely want to stay there again - Very comfortable, spacious, well appointed Doors didnt shut easily - discovered trick on the last day to close bathroom door. Two sets of keys would be nice so that one could be left in the lock box. Then one set could be used without having to rely on having to always use the lockbox if its very late or very early.
- Lisa (8/5): Overall we were pleased with the apartment and its location. If it’s available for our next trip to NYC, we would stay - The apartment was surprisingly spacious for NYC and our group of 5 were very comfortable. The apartment was neat and we had everything we needed. There were lots of towels, dishes, silverware, etc. and all the appliances were clean.
It was also very quiet (apart from the NYC street noise). If we hadn’t passed some of the residents coming in and out of the building, and we would have thought we were the only ones there.
It is in a great location. There were 2 subway stops very close, a grocery store, bodega and an excellent coffee shop within a 5 minute walk. We were also able to walk to restaurants, a bagel shop and an ice cream shop within 10-15 minutes. The lobby of the building was a little off putting with warnings about people trying to sneak in and party, however as mentioned above, we didn’t see (or hear) anything like that.
There were some minor issues. The apartment is old, some electrical outlets didn’t work and the kitchen light was very dim (maybe missing a bulb?). There were plenty of towels, but no washcloths. The sheets for the futon in the living room didn’t fit but we used 2 flats sheets to cover it.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Convenient, well connected to transportation, you are in Central Manhattan, Times Square in 20 min.
It's a proper apartment, feels like a home.
It"s also very affordable comparing the the current crazy New York hotel price Central Park North is ok, it can be lively at night even if still feel safe, but it's not a Chelsea or Tribeca environment. We were most of the day exploring , so we didn't hang out in the neighborhood.Hence the place was great for us
- Yisan (10/5): Location and comfort - Comfortable apartment, located very close to transportation and 5 min walking from Central Park North.
Very responsive host All good
