- Khalid (7/5): - We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel, especially for families.
The location was ideal—just a short walk from the Giza Pyramids, which made exploring incredibly easy and convenient. The hotel itself was very clean and had a warm, family-oriented atmosphere that made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived.
We stayed as a group of three adults and two young children (both under three), and the setup was perfect for us. Having two bedrooms, along with our own kitchen and dining area, gave us plenty of space and flexibility—something that really matters when traveling with kids.
One of the highlights was the rooftop, where we could relax in the evening or enjoy breakfast with a great view. Speaking of breakfast, it was excellent—fresh, satisfying, and a great start to each day.
A special mention to the host, who truly was a “hostess with the mostest.” They were incredibly helpful, practical, and genuinely family-oriented. Even though there’s no lift, they kindly assisted us with carrying our luggage upstairs, which we really appreciated. We were also given the option of a ground floor or second floor room, and we chose the second floor for easier access to the rooftop.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Everything was smooth, comfortable, and well-suited for a family trip. Thank you for making our time in Giza so enjoyable!
- Dr Lucila (10/5): It’s really lovely place to stay anytime! - I really love being in Chez l'ami hotel; especially because all the staff treat me as a family. This place has everything for comfortable stay; is very comfortable, convenient and spacious. The area is quiet, and I can be in calm in my private balcony reading, or in the morning taking the sun, or enjoying the pyramids view, especially the sunset. The breakfast buffet is amazing and the hospitality is great. Thanks for everything to the beautiful and lovely family from Chez l'ami hotel.

- Ramos (9/5): - Location No shower courtain
- Andreas (7/5): -
- Cristhiane (10/5): - The best place to stay in Egypt.
Feels like home, the view of the pyramids is incredible. The rooms are really comfortable and clean, and the place is peaceful.
- sangamnath veeranna (10/5): - Very close to pyramids. Amazing view from rooftop. Its more like a homestay, helpful owners. You can't a better deal then this. If you want to get the local experience, I would highly recommend this place Cleanliness can be better
- Machteld (8/5): - Truly amazing rooftop view of the pyramids! You can also see some of the pigeon towers, which is great to watch in the evening.
Bed are comfortable and (not included) breakfast is good.
Service is good, and it is nice to interact with female Egyptians for a change. The hosts want to help you out any way they can. They helped my arrange an uber an walked me to the car to make sure that I did not get scammed. No warm water in the shower, only from the tap
The wifi is really, really poor. I couldn't use it for anything really, which made it impossible to find out where I wanted to go or arrange transportation.
- Ibrahim (10/5): Amazing view of the pyramids and the staff is so nice and friendly. - The people there are friendly and nice. They welcomed me even though I arrived after midnight and they allowed me to do a late check-out
Plus the view of the pyramids from the rooftop is amazing Everything was great. I just hope there was a window in the room
- Giulia (8/5): Consigliato, rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo - Struttura accogliente e pulita

- Prune (10/5): - Nous avons adoré séjourner dans cet hôtel. Zineb, Sarah et Hannah sont des amours.
L'Hôtel est calme et super bien placé.
Tout était parfait !
Mille mercis pour tout !

- Joanne-Marie (6/5): Not really a hotel, but close proximity to the pyramids - The breakfast was nice, friendly staff, food was nice. View from the top terrace was great. Location to the pyramids is great. This wasn't a hotel, more a bed and breakfast/ guest house type accommodation. There were many many stairs to the apartment which would be a problem for those with young children or mobility issues. Air conditioning units are very noisy.
- Arnold (7/5): - Ce n'est pas un hôtel. Cela devrait être plus clair dans l'offre.
- Philipp (9/5): - the breakfast was amazing, with view of the pyramids
The host family is super friendly and welcoming. The driver is very professional and the offer a wide variety of options to do in Cairo. nothing everything was perfect.
- Maciej_PL_ (8/5): Good quiet place 10 minutes from piramids - Hannah has been great and I felt very welcomed. The room was good enough for 2 nights, very spacious.
Breakfasts were fantastic, you can grab and and have it on the rooftop looking at the piramids. I also got a free transfer from the airport to the hotel. Cleanliness could be better
Air conditioning was not very efficient
- ELIOMAR (10/5): great value for money - "Excellent place and location, with a stunning view of the pyramids — and above all, impeccable cleanliness." nothing
- V (10/5): -
- Tarek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guillem (10/5): Shukran - The attention of Hannah, Sara and Zainab was outstanding.
The room was spacious and bright, and the views of the pyramids from the balcony were nice.
I don't remember having such a good breakfast, and all was homemade.
They were also very accommodating to my late arrival past midnight. Not being able to stay for longer.
- Dilsher (10/5): Exceptional - Good Good
- Fantine (9/5): Beautiful family and convenient location - Perfect location and beautiful rooftop. The room we initially booked was not available but Sara went above and beyond so we feel comfortable. Do not hesitate to ask for a meal, the home cooked lunch we had on the rooftop was one of the best we’ve had in Egypt. Nothing
- Haolin (10/5): This is the best hotel, excellent. - Warm, clean, comfortable and convenient room
- Behnam (10/5): Exceptional - Chez L’Ami Hotel in Giza was great. The hotel was clean and nice. It had a good balcony, and the Egyptian breakfast was delicious. The rooftop terrace had a fantastic view. The staff was really friendly and always ready to help. I definitely recommend this hotel.
- Canran (10/5): Wonderful experience! The hotel is home-like. - The breakfast is good! Especially when you can have breakfast while seeing the pyramids! The location is great, just 10 minutes walk to the pyramids.
- Maher (10/5): Awesome - The pyramids view from Terrace is so awesome.
The hospitality is good, and friendly.
They have a microwave, so if you can heat your food.
It's near the Grand Egyptian Museum, about 30 mins far.
- Efe (10/5): Exceptional - An elder women welcomed us she has such a great smile gave us dates as welcome gift. Hana is very communicative person and reached us before we went to their place. Even offered is to make Turkish coffee.
Rooms are very nice equipped with mini fridge and beds are so comfortable. Beautiful view on the terrace and Its really the best option for its price. Pyramids are so nearby (which you can go very early to avoid crowds.)
They kept our luggages safe till we wait for our bus. Very trustworthy and warm people. Altough they offer somewhat competitive tour prices one of the staff gave us different pricing and was so pushy about selling tour packages (300% above the normal service price and even double price for breakfast which is clearly written on booking...)
That confused us and we decided not to use any of the services.
- Kathryn (9/5): Great location, excellent value for money and a great welcome - The location was excellent with a view of the pyramids from our balcony and excellent view from the roof top.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Hana spoke excellent English and was very prompt with her responses to my messages.
The breakfast was traditional and was cooked fresh and served either in the room or on the roof top.
The room was very large with a seating area and a dining table. The fridge worked well which is a bonus for keeping water chilled and the bed was comfortable.
Excellent value for money. The hot water pressure in the shower was not great. I can only assume this was due to our room being on one of the upper floors.
The is no lift so heavy bags had to be carried upstairs. No big deal but be aware.
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): Highly Recommended - Great location 10-15 min walk to entrance of the Pyramids ( below the Sphinx ) and a 100 EGP Uber Taxi ride to the Grand museum GEM .
Room was large and clean , comfy bed , Good pressure and hot water to shower .TV has a good film channel in English
Staff friendly and very helpful , Special Thanks to Hannah and Sarah for your help ( apology if name not quite right )
Good Breakfast , sets you up for the day .Recommend taking it on the roof terrace with breathtaking views of the Pyramids
The terrace is also a good location to see the sunset and for watching the sound and light show
Please note there are 80 steps from the ground floor to the roof terrace , i have bad knees and i managed ok
The hotel is down a little lane taking you away from the main road and some of the noise of Cairo . Look out for the 6 October shop on the main road to the left of it you will find the lane which leads to the hotel
Will recommend to family and friends and if lucky enough to visit Giza, Cairo again will be my first choice Having to leave and travel home . Can't think of a bad thing to say about the place . The staff were great and was always happy to help , any little problems was sorted quickly . Highly recommended .
- Daniele (1/5): Noisy, with amazing view - Location is very good. 10 minutes walking from the pyramids
Amazing view from the roof top A little bit dirty,
Hot water wasn’t working properly,
I asked for a vegetarian meal and they gave me vegetables and meat,
NOISY, traffic was very bad and there was a COCK keeping us awake at all the time,
- Roberto (10/5): A family that will make you feel close to home. - The property is located in front of the pyramids. With an incredible view and a very nice terrace. Anna, the owner, helped us a lot. She even sent us a driver to the airport. All very friendly and helpful. More than a hotel, it feels like a family. I would come back quietly. The bathing space could be a little bigger.
- Liuxiao (10/5): Exceptional - real good owner and breakfast
- Bing (10/5): Friendly staff, clean room, nice view - Friendly staff, very kind and warm service. Good location, from hotel to pyramid ticket office is about 10mins by walk. The room is newly renovated and it's very clean. The room is big with all necessaries for your short or long term stay. The roof is a very good location for viewing the pyramid, especially the sunset. Special thanks for Miss Hana, she is a very nice and kind lady. Finally the breakfast is also very good. It's far beyond our expectations and it's absolutely valuable for what you pay. I highly recommend it to those who plan to visit the pyramid and grand museum.
- Amgad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evelyn (8/5): Good value for money! - Big spacious and very clean room. The older lady who took care of us didn‘t speak much English, but was super nice and even made us a very earl breakfast before leaving on a day trip. The hotel has a nice rooftop with great views and it is very close to the Giza pyramids. The airconditioning in our room was very noisy. Impossible to turn on at night, because we couldn‘t sleep with the noise, so it got quite hot in the room at night.
Side note which is not directly related to the hotel itself, but was organized with their help: we had a day trip with a guide Ahmed whom we didn‘t like much at all, as he didn‘t seem genuinely interested in either us or the conversation, nor in explaining more than the things one could read in any guide book. Not recommended.
- かず (8/5): Good stay! Thank you! - •Due to an issue with the bed in the room we booked, they upgraded us to a spacious family suite.
•On the last day, they extended our checkout time to 3 p.m.
•Breakfast on the rooftop with a view of the pyramids was nice.
•We received fresh water daily.
•Clean sheets and pillow covers.
•We checked two rooms, and the air conditioning and other equipment seemed relatively new.
•Even though we arrived late at night, they stayed in contact and helped us check in. •The entrance was a bit hard to find.
•The bed with the issue was still fairly new, so with some improvements, the first room could have been comfortable too.
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional - All, the ambient, people, views, food, services...
- Bekhit (10/5): Exceptional -

- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional - The place is clean and warm it feels like home , the room is clean also the owner is very friendly and helpful Nothing
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dalibor (5/5): Passable - This accommodation is inhabited by an Egyptian local family, which is not privacy for visitors. They did not allow my friends to visit my room, which hindered general human freedom.
- Martina (7/5): House with a Rooftop View to the Pyramids - Even though the lady who welcomed us didn't speak any English, she was very hospitable and ensured our questions were answered by phoning her English-speaking daughter. She even agreed to store our luggage for a few hours while we were on a tour the next day.
Since the place is so close to the pyramids, the view from their rooftop is superb! Beware, their furniture isn't the newest, and there is no lift. Our main concern was the AC - it was very noisy, and we struggled to sleep because of it.
- Susanna (10/5): Wanderful experience, clean, quiet and amazing location - Amazing cosy hotel in a excellent locatoon at only 10’ walking to the Pyramids entrance. The lady owner was really kind and welcoming, room was big, clean, comfy and with good wifi and Aircon. They helped me with everything I need on my first time in Egypt. They organize good and cheap tours, and the Breakfast was sublime with all fresh food. Rooftop at the sunset with pyramid view is the best. We are really happy, they looking after me and my 5yo daughter like a family. Honestly the best hotel that I ever had so far. Highly Reccomended. The neighboroud is also nice with meny little kebabs and restaurants , horses kids and shops. Thanks a lot ladies and hope to see you soon! Nothing. Everything was wanderful. Miss Giza Already ♥️
- Azratul (10/5): Love the architecture of building and near to pyramid - Clean room, clean bathroom, the sight seeing of pyramid is embrace and nice.
- Andy (10/5): TOP - Everything
- Andy (10/5): The BEST - TOP TOP TOP
Just amazing, my room is huge and the bed comfortable. Very very clean everything and the girls who are working here (I guess the owners) are very nice and welcoming. If it's not the one who speaks English, you need to use Google translate but it's not an issue, they are very into to help you and to understand you. I'm very happy with them
- Kanchana (10/5): Great, clean place to stay walking distance to pyramids. -
- Catarina (9/5): Best staff and view of the pyramids - The owner and all staff was very nice and super helpful. The view of the pyramids is just breathtaking! We booked a tour with the place and everything was great. Amazing breakfast as well.
- Tarig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabian (10/5): Exceptional - The staff at the hotel are amazing. This is my second stay at the hotel and more than anything, I came back for the hospitality. The breakfast is great and the rooms are cozy. Just 10-15 minutes walking from the pyramids in a very safe area . This may be the best hotel experience I've ever had in my life. Norhing
- Celestial (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and beautiful room, amazingly comfortable bed.
Mother of the family was cooking exceptional meals and breakfast.
Very hospitable and loving people - I was travelling solo so especially the first two days they were making sure I feel protected and comfortable. I liked everything
- Dorothy (7/5): I felt extremely safe and secure and definitely enjoyed the warm hospitality that the owners offered - The place is located in the heart of Giza with many various shops close by and a few minutes walk away from the entrance to the Giza pyramids. You can actually see these pyramids from some of the rooms or, for an even more excellent view, from the rooftop. The owners, who run the place, are amazingly warm and hospitable and cater for every need, including excursions, taxis, etc. I expected a large impersonal hotel but instead found a home from home
and I felt very safe in spite of being alone. The noise level is tremendous most especially if you come from a quiet background. Of course this has nothing to do with the owners. The city never sleeps - minarets are blasting their prayers about 5 times a day, the earliest around 4.00 am, traffic is horrendous and horns honk away ceaselessly, workmen also continue working till all hours of the next morning, etc.
- Tony9510 (10/5): A perfect stay! - Loved everything about this place. The family are so sweet and make you feel right at home. Awesome breakfast on the rooftop with unobstructed views of the pyramids. Clean and quiet for a great price. You couldn't ask for more.
- Maxime (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice stay at Chez l'ami, very clean and quiet as well as a big room with a perfect view roof top!! Anna is so kind and caring also.
Best stay in Egypt without lying!!!
- Tihomir (9/5): Superb - Excellent location if you want to visit the pyramids. Everyone is very nice and warm, breakfast was good and the ratio of price/quality is quite good.
- Fabian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabian (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was amazing and the staff was even more amazing . I've never felt more at home in my life . Hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed at in my life . And to top it off, the rooftop view of the pyramids is amazing .
- Kıymet (9/5): Superb -
- Jakob (10/5): Hosts were incredibly nice! - Close to the pyramids. Rooftop A bit hard to find without help or internet
- 小康 (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is new and so beautiful furniture,as well as the rooftop view of pyramids … plus the welcoming family, I spent wonderful day in Giza!!
They tried best to be welcoming and improve the facilities. And
everything is perfect. The breakfast is handmade by the grandma, I enjoy in the rooftop.
Don’t hesitate to book here if you ever got a chance!
- Zsófia (10/5): Your home away from home, your family away from your family - It's a new hotel with beautiful, big rooms and well chosen furniture, created to welcome open-minded families, couples and small groups of friends who search for a peaceful experience.
Hana and her family run a lovely place in Giza, from where you can watch the sunset over the Great pyramids. The breakfast is superb, the hosts are kind and caring, so you can really feel like you have a home away home, and a family away your family.
Thank you for making our Cairo days as peaceful as it can be :)
- Tarig (9/5): Superb -
- Megan (10/5): Amazing, amazing, amazing! - I felt safe, relaxed, in awe of my surroundings, the service was great, the rooms clean and the rooftop was an amazing space, I felt transported back in time with the pyramids as my back drop. Will be back! Not enough time.
- Troy (10/5): Amazing, magical, home away from home - Really amazing stay at Chez l'ami. Felt like a home away from home with the extraordinarily spacious rooms, and a view that was out of this world. The food for breakfast was delicious and I am so happy to see native dishes to Egypt. The lovely team at Chez l'ami even helped us with our river cruise. Superb! will be back! Nothing!
- Tarig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Akman786 (10/5): Home away from home. - The family managing chez L'ami became our family. They arranged everything from a van for an Alexandria day trip to a spectacle dinner cruise on the Nile. All at very competitive prices.
Food was home cooked and delicious. All in all it was our home away from home for a week in Giza. Our apartment was on the third floor. So,the stairs can be an issue for some
