Guest Reviews
- Cooksey's (8/5): Great location, great hosts and we will come back ! - The kitchen was excellent, with just the right amount of appliances. Small touches such as the spices made a big difference. Plenty of seating options, both inside and outside were also appreciated.
The suggestions about places to eat was a lovely touch and helpful. It is not a big deal, but a 'heads-up' about the location being on the third floor would have been helpful. It would not have stopped us booking, but we would have consolidated some of our packing and been less stressful after a long drive.

- Sandy (10/5): -
- Dipan (9/5): - Spacious apartment and well equipped. There is pretty much everything you need. Clear communications from the host make checking in easy. The only thing we would nitpick is that a few things, like the kitchen exhaust, could be cleaner
- Michael (7/5): -
- Karven (8/5): -
- Alessio (10/5): I really enjoyed my statu and would definitely stay again - It was cozy just felt like home Air con was
Abit funny but other than that it was pretty good
- PaulK (10/5): Highly recommend for couples or families - A lovely, well configured villa in a great location, close to beach and shops. Nothing
- Shauna (9/5): Lovely costal stay, close the the beach and restaurants - Beautiful costal apartment, with plenty of space! It was really close to the beach and we enjoyed the host’s recommendations for food and drinks ☺️ would definitely stay again! Just conscious that the walls are thin with the neighbours and the bedrooms
- David (9/5): Relaxing - Bed lamps not working.
- stephanie (9/5): Stay was very good and the apartment excellent. Host very helpful - Easy accessing the apartment. Location was good. Views terrific but windy. Condition of the apartment in general was excellent. Very happy with the stay overall and the hosts very helpful Aircon in the bedrooms would be good. Flyscreens came off in blowy conditions. Had to park on road due to low height in underground garage.
- Carly (5/5): - Great location The unit was so hot, we had to sleep on the lounge room floor.
- Kristy (7/5): Very clean! - Very hot in bedrooms overnight. Air conditioning not fantastic.
- Antonina Defina (9/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): except for stairs a lovley stop over. The Unit was splendid and very classy furnishings. - No Breakfast supplied. I really think that the stairs need to be made a lot clearer, 46 stairs with luggage and heat was very uncomfortable, my sister, who has severe arthritis in both knees, really suffered for days.
- Carla (10/5): Quiet getaway - Equipt with everything needed. Nice little Christmas touches to decorate. Quiet. Nothing
- Jan (5/5): -
- Jennifer (9/5): Port Mac Excellence - Fantastic apartment. Location was excellent with great views from the balcony. Great information on the local area and fabulous recommendations on where to eat . Felt like a local. Late with the locked box code but could have been because of daylight saving.
- Catherine (8/5): Location good.found lovely cafe and pub called the local within 1km - Lovely kitchen and bathroom Oven had burnt fluid at the bottom. I cleaned it up. The dryer was full of lint. I cleaned up too
I had no idea there were so many flights of stairs My mum is 83 and this was tough.
- Vickie (9/5): great mum got to visit a friend, I got some work done. - yes everything went well, all was really nice. nothing
- Patricia (7/5): Beautiful new ultra modern but yes are a major problem that require more warning - Location 3xcellent. No breakfast. Six flights of stairs dragging suitcases up 51 atepsbeautifulaltogether. Very difficult to get into front door. No handrail in shower. Chinook unsuitable for seniors.
- Terry (9/5): -
- Wayne (4/5): Not satisfactory for $325 per night - Well presented and tidy. There wasn’t really ocean views, the building was in poor shape, no sign posts from car park to the room (it was like a maze and father tripped over an obvious trip hazard and hurt his knee). The location was not close to any shops etc. and there was building work being done all weekend. No part of the advertisement said there was 3 flights of stairs and no lifts -this was even harder for my 75 yo father with a sore knee.
- Suzie (9/5): - Very comfortable apartment to stay in with nice view of the ocean. Renovated bathroom and kitchen was lovely and plenty of room. The apartment is on the third floor (top floor) and the entry to the garages was a difficult angle and I scraped the bottom of my car. I decided to park on the street.
- Janice (8/5): No problems other than the stairs - Light and airy and comfortably furnished. My friend found her bed a little hard but apart from that it was good. Very clean and the fresh flowers were really appreciated. It was ok for one night but be aware it is on the third floor and no lift
- Renae (10/5): - Really comfortable & fabulously presented. Everything was thought about with care & attention to detail.
- Meiting (9/5): Everything is good as our expectations - Great If could provide paper towel in the kitchen
- Linda (8/5): - Lovely space with views to enjoy. It was nice to be able to sit outside on the terrace. Excellent communication from host with every detail covered. Stairs to access property with an invalid husband was a challenge. Smelt a little stuffy upon arrival.
- Angela (10/5): -
- Danny (10/5): The beds were comfortable and tge water was perfectly hot -
- Robyne (9/5): - The apartment was beautiful, clean, great sofa and views from the balcony. Lots of extras in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathroom. Older building but renovated very well.
Was our favourite during our 4 week trip on the east coast of NSW.
- Oneewa (10/5): - - Beautiful eastern facing apartment- enjoyed watching the sunrise from the kitchen window! Lovely quiet area, no street noise. Lovely and comfortable. Stairs went really an issue for us. -
- frederic (8/5): -
- Brock (10/5): - It was in a great location and very spacious. N/A
- Mark (8/5): - Nice outlook, close to walking track. 3rd story lots of steps, but that’s the only difficulty.
- Amanda (9/5): -
- Sean (8/5): Modern, clean, comfortable, well appointed. We enjoyed our stay. - Very clean, comfortable and modern. Comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, big TV, comfortable couch. While the apartment itself was great, the rest of the property was a little old and all lights in common areas are off by default. It is a little tricky if you arrive in the dark to a place you have never been before, but, the host had given lots of instructions about this and it was easy to find and turn on the necessary lights. We also did not realise we would have to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to the apartment, but it was OK and we would have still booked the apartment knowing this in advance.

- Michelle (10/5): -
- Julie (8/5): Very good - The Apartment was very clean and warm. When booking we didn't realise we would have to climb 3 sets of stairs (there is no lift) with our luggage to access the apartment. One of our guests found this to be very challenging.
- Jacqueline (4/5): DISAPPOINTING - Good cleanliness, renovated, newly installed appliancess, secure under cover parking, good proximity to town, just a little bit of sea-views. Not suitable for families, elderly or children. We cannot recommend it to anyone except young/fit people prepared not to make a sound- Reason:
Over 40 steps to get up to this top floor unit with luggage, there's no lift. After several hours of driving we did not do any cooking, we were tired and went to bed early. Prior to that we only had the TV going for 20mins at 8pm & received a text message on my phone that our noise levels were too high! I messaged back the host to say that we certainly were NOT noisy and their reply was the unit is being monitored with a decibel counter and we were too noisy for 10 minutes!! This is totally unbelievable!! Other than that the dining chairs are very uncomfortable and a few little things were missing from this accommodation that make a big difference to a trip and stay (which practically every accommodation we've been to before in the past 50 years has had), Eg. in the bathroom there's not even a little bottle of shampoo or conditioner provided, no hair-dryer, which is very unpleasant in Wintertime. There are no bedside table-lamps, so if you have to get up in the night you have find the light-switch at the door in the dark- this is something totally unacceptable for elderly people. There was not a drop of milk in the fridge to be able to make a cup of tea, let alone have a couple of biscuits on arrival. We will be travelling regularly via Port Macquarie in this next year, however we personally will not be staying here again.
- Craig (9/5): Excellent for what we needed. -
- Shelley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (7/5): Great location, large roomy apartment. - Large, roomy apartment, with views across to the water. Very bright and airy, in a good location near Flynn's Beach. We were there a week, so a couple of extra hand towels would have helped, and perhaps a coffee plunger. Be prepared to climb 3 flights of stairs!
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Taylah (3/5): Poor -
- Paul (10/5): Loved it. It was a very enjoyable break for my family while I worked. - The two-bedroom unit was perfect for us. It was close to the beach and not far from the main shopping district. The views to the ocean were cool to see while we sat and had our coffee. It was quiet and peaceful. (Stairs. My arch nemesis lol.) Nothing to really report here.
- Vivekanandan (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (5/5): Passable - The apartment was very clearly recently renovated & very clean. Air conditioner didn't work & the only toilet didn't flush properly.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hughes (8/5): Comfortable, clean, accessible and modern. - The unit was spotless and comfortable with everything in working order. The building had a dated charm while the interior of the unit was modern and fresh. Would readily stay again. Some more kitchen essentials would have been appreciated ie, olive oil, a cleaning spray and more than one cloth.
- Judith (10/5): Beautifully presented apartment in an ideal location. We would stay there again. - This property was clean and presented beautifully. Its location to Flynn’s Beach was ideal. We loved this apartment and there really wasn’t anything we didn’t like. However I would recommend some bedside table lighting and better window blinds.
- Garry (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable and clean with a good vibe
- Annesley (7/5): Great for ready access to all things in and around Port - Location - very good. Provided our own breakfasts. Liked spaciousness of lounge area. Liked the balcony. Liked good washing machine. Good views out to see from all rooms. close to beaches. Need more plates and cups. Need to fix: poor hot water flow in bathroom, poor water drainage in bathroom sink, slightly leaking toilet on floor, slightly leaking shower heat at wall, and very hot main bedroom - possibly needs external shading and larger window opening. ALso, need to warn people about nuber of stairs to unit - limiting for elderly, impaired and children.
- Trish (7/5): Close to the beach! - View was nice and the kitchen was nice. Lounge was comfortable to enjoy a show. Communication with the owner was fantastic! Bedrooms really could have done with blackout curtains, fans blew the blinds all night causing them to bang and provide too much light in the morning, The aircon was great but only in the loungeroom, very hot in bedrooms. Bathroom could do with an upgrade, shower needs to be bigger. Building is old but the apartment was nice and clean, just needs a few adjustments. Be prepared to climb some stairs :)
- David (9/5): Great place to stay. Rooms were a bit warm of a night time. - .
- Dean (8/5): Very good -
- Katarzyna (9/5): Superb -
- Maree (7/5): Apartment with views - Spacious. Had a laundry. Big TV. Clean linen. Good communication for help to get into the apartment on arrival. Good air conditioner in living area. Comfortable large lounge. Aesethically pleasing. Good outdoor balcony with great views. The price was fair. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Very hot in bedrooms in afternoons. They had overhead fans but were still very hard to sleep in. The apartment was clean, though the bathroom smelt like stale urine. Door to balcony hard to open and close. Maybe it could be a safety issue getting shut out on the balcony.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (8/5): Very good -
- Jade (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (7/5): Clean and comfortable but with a few cons - The place was clean and comfortable. Hot water and water pressure in the shower were great. Everyone mentions the stairs which really are a struggle if you have to go up and down multiple times a day. The sliding door to get out onto the balcony was broken off its hinges and wouldn’t open. Luckily my dad was able to fix it but it still was extremely hard to open. The bbq was not clean enough to use. There was no hand soap in the kitchen dispenser and the one in the bathroom had water added to it so it was basically just water coming out. There were no “above and beyond” extras that a lot of places offer these days like coffee pods.
- Navjeet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (10/5): Fantastic! - The location and the value for money. Great place for a family to stay. The stairs up to it.
- Mick (7/5): Good -
- Ben (10/5): Great apt would live here - Modern and spotless Not much, a fair amount of steps up to the apartment if you’re carrying a lot of bags and cases. But that can’t be helped. Couldn’t really fault the place!
- Mikaylia (10/5): Perfect - Very spacious. Great views Nothing
- Chantal (8/5): Nice apartment ! - The building is an old one, the parking very wet and we feared for the apartment.
But it was a very good surprise !
I made a mistake by the booking because I wanted a double room in an hotel; Port Macquarie was only 1 night-stop on the road to Canberra. I didn't want an apartment, but we were not disappointed !
The apartment is spacious, bright, recently renovated and very well equiped (sheets and towels)
The only regret : by booking it was not mentioned that this apartment was on the third floor without lift... and it was very difficult to carry the luggage for only 1 night !
(sorry for my bad english; I'm a french client) Third floor without lift !
It was not mentioned the heigh of the car for the parking (our Ute was just just...)
- Ross (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Beth (8/5): Very good - The sliding screen door out to the balcony was jammed shut so could not go outside and take advantage of the top floor views which was such a pity because they were exceptional with a glorious sunset and early morning sunrise. Very disappointing as that was the highlight of having to use the stairs to get up to the apartment. Also there were no notes or advice on how to access the wifi. Pity because everything else about the apartment was great.
- Nathan (10/5): Great clean accom. Well appointed. Great location. - Great location. Very clean modern renovated flat.nicely decorated with anything you could want. Not a big deal at all but a great addition would be an extension lead with power boards to bedside tables. I use a cpap so had to get from supermarket. Bedside lamps would also be a plus.
- Milinda (9/5): Superb - We enjoyed everything about the unit itself. Nice and quiet, comfy beds, good shower, clean and tidy The many flights of stairs to get to unit 12. I don't remember reading anywhere on the booking site about the amount of stairs, and their was no lift available. I have asthma/copd, so the stairs were a challenge for me.
- Bradley (10/5): Very easy to deal with and a great stay, recommend for sure - Very clean and nicely set out apartment, would recommend to friends I had no issues
