Guest Reviews
- Ann (9/5): Ideal for what we wanted, close to amenities and good transport. - It was well situated and had the number of bedrooms I needed for our stay.
Good size kitchen and sitting area. Plenty of crockery and utensils. Only one combined bathroom and toilet which made it difficult with three teenage boys who liked to shower daily.
Needed chopping boards and TV remotes didn’t function but as boys were there to study, it wasn’t a huge problem.
- Avraham (1/5): - The owner wasn't available.
The heating didn't work
In the beginning there wasn't enough towels for everyone
We paid for cleaning when booking and a week after we left the owner charged us again fir cleaning without permission
I wouldn't suggest. Stay away!
- Brendon (1/5): Not hosted well & disappointing; falsely advertised. - Gave us a roof over our heads; not too badly priced for London peak season considering we were NHS workers on limited funds; 4 bedrooms; kitchen fair despite broken/ chipped dinnerware/ kettle, needed a trip to Ikea. Beware
This property was rented to us for a 3-month stay as a “Newly renovated Victorian Terrace House with garden“! Promises of fixing previous renter's complaints had not in fact been done. House was completely covered in scaffolding for 3 weeks with workmen 8am to 6pm. Unsafe electricity points, and door locks. All outdoor areas inaccessible for entire 3 months! No hot water or heating for over 3 weeks due to owner failing to believe 5 plumbers that the boiler was stuffed and needed replacing, boiler fixed heating not working still. The beds were very uncomfortable, the sole bathroom was small and dirty, and the dishwasher was not connected let alone working. Owner repeatedly failed to pay electricity bills and we were left without power for many hours! Terrible stink in lounge room. These are just a few of the problems we encountered!
- Hayley (1/5): Disgusting, don’t stay here - Absolutely nothing Oh geez where do I start.
5 of us were staying at this house from Friday 25/07 to Monday 28/07 as we were attending a concert at Tottenham Stadium. When we arrived, the key was in the key box as instructed. Once we got into the house we noticed the cleaner hadn’t been.
The first thing that hit us was the smell!!! Cat urine and very strong in the living room.
There was dirty laundry sitting on the kitchen floor.
We first thought the cleaner had left in the middle of cleaning, however, the whole house was filthy, looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly for months.
Before we could put any food in the fridge we had to clean it. We realised that the cleaner wasn’t coming, we tried calling the owner several times with no answer. We messaged via booking.com/whatsapp/text still no answer. Then their phone was obviously switched off as it was just going straight to answer phone, I left a message asking for them to contact me urgently, still no reply.
Further investigation revealed that the house was filthy, there was no linen on any of the beds, there was dirt everywhere, you couldn’t see out of the windows they were so dirty, half eaten food left on the settee, the kitchen and the bathroom we’re disgusting, the toilet had not been flushed and there was faeces in the pan.
Even though we had been traveling since 4am we started cleaning, we had no option but to stay as there was 2 huge concerts on in London and nowhere had space. We cleaned the kitchen, the bathroom, hoovered floors and beds, cleaned table tops, cleaned all crockery, glasses, cutlery and even the toaster and kettle. The linen cupboard under the stairs had been left open so we made all of the beds up so that we could at least rest before the concert. The dishwasher wasn’t even plumbed in.
I wouldn’t let me worst enemy stay in this house, the garden was also unusable with the amount of rubbish piled in it, along with a dead rat. We couldn’t use the living room as the smell was so bad.
- O'flanagan (10/5): Exceptional -
- O'flanagan (10/5): Exceptional - Key collection - Very easy – Clear code and instructions sent the day before arrival. Stress free and easy collection.
- O'flanagan (10/5): Repeat review for business booking, highly recommend. -
- Xavora (6/5): Pleasant - There was enough space for 7 people. The house needs a DEEP clean.
- Safiya (7/5): Good - I really liked the variety of rooms and comfort within the house, it was perfect for our group and it was fully stocked up with cleaning essentials and all the appliances we would need! Some items were broken before we got there and a
mirror cut open one of my friends’ hand and the lockbox was hard to open.
- Toyin (1/5): Bad -
- Conor (8/5): Great base for a group staying in London, well connected to town with a lot in the immediate area - Great location, good size of a house as well. Perfect for a base for a group of us to spend the weekend in the area. Very close to Spurs stadium as well as a bunch of nice bars and restaurants. Good connection to buses and overground train lines.
- Kristen (2/5): Wouldn't book again! - Positives:
- lots of space for everyone!
- washing machine and dishwasher
- lots of room in the kitchen and a good size fridge and freezer
- fans in all the upstairs rooms
- the bathtub was great for soaking in
- easy access to grocery stores (within 15 minutes)
- easy access to public transit We have been traveling for the last couple of weeks in Europe so are comparing this property to properties we have stayed at in Scotland and the Netherlands as well as back home in canada and the United States. This property is large and could certainly serve 6+ people. I think it has a lot of potential to be an amazing place. Unfortunately, we get the feeling that it's a "lipstick on a pig" situation in regards to the "newly renovated" label.
Negatives for us:
- The kitchen cupboards don't close together properly. It seems to be very poorly out together.
- The handle on the bathroom door is falling off which makes it difficult to open and close
- The outdoor key lock is broken (it looks like it's been intentionally broken?).
- I don't think the pictures accurately portray this property.
- No garbage bags
- not a great selection of kitchen ware. There was only a small flat frying pan and a wok pan. No larger bowls for making salad. It was difficult to pan fry chicken for 5 people using a banged up wok.... Went to make mashed potatoes and there was no masher.
- 3 rolls of toilet paper for a week's stay for 5 people
- Beds were not very comfortable and we could feel springs in all of them. Even my young children were complaining of shoulder and back pain! None of us slept well at all the entire time :( my 12 year old decided to sleep on the floor for the last 2 nights because that was more comfortable than springs in her back
- no coffee maker
- molded food in the refrigerator and very molded onions in the cupboard
- no bath mat
- there was wet laundry (bedding) in the upstairs dryer presumably from the cleaner that had been in before we checked in.
- when we went to use the dryer we found that the water reservoir was completely full so it wouldn't dry our clothes. Upon further inspection we found mold in the dryer. There were drying racks so we just used those.
- David (3/5): This just shows how a good photographer can make sub standard accommodation look premium - It was in a good location for what we intended to do on our visit It was very dirty when we arrived. The key box was broken and we had to hunt for the key. We had to change all of the beds when we arrived and we did two loads of washing before we found spare bedding and towels. There were piles of washing in the bathroom and in the upstairs hall. We had to clean the kitchen and the bathroom before we could use them and although it was a hot sunny day, we couldn’t hang the washing out because the garden was very overgrown. The glass kitchen table was horribly grimy both on top and underneath, and the cleaner didn’t arrive until an hour after we had arrived and started cleaning. The owner did refund us £30, but price was still over £200. Finally, I feel that we were lucky that there were only four of us. A 4/5 bedroom house could potentially sleep 10 people and one small bathroom was not sufficient for the four of us, let alone 10!
- Zoe (9/5): Superb -
- Juli-anne (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable. Well kitted kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
- Arianna (10/5): Exceptional - Great host! House very big and welcomy
- Deon (10/5): Perfect scores for our stay, Large spacious family home, lovely and warm, perfect for our holiday. - Perfect scores for our stay, Large spacious family home, lovely and warm, perfect for our holiday. Well equipped kitchen, large tv in lounge, lots and lots of space. Really lovely host, made himself available whenever we needed. Really appreciated having the whole family of 8 together and feeling like we had lots of spare room. House looks like the photos. Being close to but a little removed from the noise and bustle was important to us and much more economical., It meant a few mins walk a tube station. But well worth it to being able to pay much less and have the lovely quiet surround streets we got. If you want to stay in the centre of everything, it would be worth spending the extra £100 a night that will cost.
- Charlie (10/5): A home away from home. Our whole family loved the place and we had an amazing stay - A home away from home. Our whole family loved the place and we had an amazing stay. The property is a very large Victorian end terrace, which very comfortably sleeps 8, and is set in a safe and quiet street, it had everything we needed, and we will definitely stay again. Only 5 mins walk to Bruce Grove overground, and 12 mins walk to Seven Sisters tube which is just 16 mins to Oxford Circus. Spacious and beautifully decorated throughout. This is a home with a luxury feel rather than just a let property. Family trip. The grass in the garden was maybe overdue a mow, could be cut more regularly as even though its winter guests may want to use the garden.
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Michal (9/5): Super - Great attitude of the host. Whatever we needed we communicated online via whatsapp. Although there was a minor problem with the heat, everything was solved by the host in no time. Tottenham is not for everyone...
- Andre (10/5): Everything perfect - Everything perfect, good location, things you need in the kitchen are available, free WiFi,shower shampoo, would everytime come back again Nothing to say
- Elis (8/5): Very good -
- Justine (7/5): Good -
- Samuel (8/5): Very good -
- Katerina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Neovie (10/5): Had a great time, will book again when we come back to London. - very accommodating owner.
- Oleksandr (8/5): Very good - Good house good location close to asda store Audi 15min walk. There is a curtain in the kitchen, it hangs very low, you can step on it. So Be more attentive and in general all the curtains, they somehow lie on the floor.
