• Imogen (10/5): Beautiful house with incredible hosts - Gjon went out of his way to help us especially when our plans had to change last minute, we would have been lost without him! The family are so hospitable, the house is very cute and the food is homely and comforting and there was much more choice than we were expecting. The views are absolutely stunning! Nothing, just would recommend that if you are getting the bus to Theth, make sure you ask the driver to drop you off at the turning to the guest house as it is slightly out of the town.

• Jarno (10/5): Excellent - Wij hebben een fantastische tijd gehad bij Valter en Drita’s. Alles was tot in de puntjes geregeld. Bovenal waren de hosts van de familie oprecht en bijzoner vriendelijk. Daarnaast hebben we kunnen genieten van de heerlijke maaltijden ‘s avonds en ook het ontbijt was fantastisch, allemaal bereid door de mama van de familie. Verder was onze kamer kraaknet. Zeker een aanrader! Niets.

• Yassine (10/5): Highly recommended - Our stay was great! The guesthouse was incredible, with breathtaking views. Djon and Mary were great hosts, and it was an honour being among their beautiful family. The mom is a very good cook. The room was neatly arranged and tidy. Would definitely come back again and again. Nothing that I can think of. Side note: Be prepared for a challenging (yet nice) walk to and from the city center if you have not rented a car)
• Roxher (10/5): I felt like I was in paradise! - Staying at this guest house felt less like booking a room and more like being quietly adopted by the family for a few days, The view was absolutely breathtaking, with endless peaks, fresh air, and sunsets that looked painted by hand. Every morning felt like waking up inside a postcard. What truly made this place unforgettable was the beautiful family managing it. Their hospitality was on another level. The son was incredibly polite, always smiling, full of positive energy, constantly making sure everything was perfect for us. He was even cutting wood for the fire himself so we could stay warm and comfortable, and you could see how much care he puts into every guest’s experience. The sister was amazingly kind and thoughtful, helping us with a bassinet for our baby and making our family feel completely at ease. And the mother… her cooking deserves its own award. Every meal was homemade, fresh, and absolutely delicious, the kind of food that brings everyone around the table into happy silence for a few minutes because it’s just that good. You can find beautiful places everywhere in the world, but it’s rare to find people with hearts this genuine. This guest house is not just accommodation, it’s warmth, kindness, peace, and unforgettable memories wrapped together under the mountains. We arrived as guests and left feeling like family. Highly, highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

• Leif (9/5): Superb hospitality, amazing views - Gjon, the host (Valter & Drita's son), was absolutely amazing. He is exceptionallly welcoming, open, kind and accommodating - plus, he provided is with a great deal of information on the location, history and hikes. He's an absolute gem of hospitality! We also liked the view from our room and balcony, the fireplace, packed breakfast for hikes, cleanliness of the room, ample parking, the cat and dog of the house, and last, but very much not least, Drita's cooking - the dinners were super good, with tasty options even for us vegans. Not much, really. The only minor inconvenience was how our shower was not separated from the rest of the bathroom.

The family hosted us wonderfully, especially Gjon who helped us with everything and gave full attention to every aspect and always made sure we are doing well. The most sweet and nicest family. Enjoyed the stay a lot and highly recommend!

Our hosts, Mary and Gjon, were incredibly friendly and offered excellent recommendations throughout our stay. The food (both breakfast and dinner) was a wonderful fusion of Greek and Albanian cuisine, making for a truly authentic and memorable experience. Nothing!
• Karen (9/5): Amazing view with wonderful hosts - .We arrived early on a cold rainy day and the road was foggy. It was about 13:30 We were hungry but tired and I coudn't imagine us driving anywhere for lunch. Luckily - our room was ready and Gjon informed us that they do serve dinner and we were thrilled ! The room is wonderful and cozy - like in the pictures, the bed was comfy and we took a hot shower, some snacks and rested until dinner. Gjon's mom is a wonderful cook - I ordered chicken soup and a veal stake and my partner ordered spinach soup and spaghetti Bolognese and everything was delicious. Breakfast the next morning was also good with fresh fruits and vegetables and home made pastries. They were very kind hosts and attended to all our requests. I highly recommend !

• Annette (10/5): Tolle Unterkunft mit herrlichem Bergpanoramablick! - Wir waren im September mit unserer Tochter für 4 Nächte in dieser tollen Unterkunft. Das Haus hat eine sehr schöne Lage mit Panoramaaussicht auf die umliegenden Berge von Theth. Es liegt zwar etwas außerhalb vom Ortskern, was uns aber nicht störte. Wir sind ja schließlich zum Wandern hier hergekommen...:) Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und modern und komfortabel eingerichtet. Begeistert waren wir vom leckeren Frühstücksbuffet, das von der Gastgeberin jeden Morgen liebevoll zubereitet wurde und alles bot, was man für einen optimalen Start in den neuen Tag benötigt! Übrigens kann man hier auch sehr gut zu Abend essen! Die beiden Kinder der Gastgeber, Gjoni und Mary, waren überaus freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Bei sämtlichen Fragen bzgl. unserer Ausflüge konnten wir uns jederzeit an die beiden wenden. Einfach super! Sie organisierten uns spontan immer einen Fahrdienst, wenn wir ihn benötigten, da wir ohne ein Mietauto in Theth waren. So konnten wir die Highlights, wie das Blue Eye und den Thethi Waterfall erwandern. Auch um die Weiterfahrt nach Shkodra am letzten Tag wurde sich bestens von Gjoni gekümmert! Wir können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen und denken noch oft an die entspannten Tage in Albaniens Bergwelt zurück...

• Romm (10/5): חוויה מושלמת - בראש ובראשונה המארח שלנו - ג'ון (הבן של וולדר) קיבל אותנו בפנים חמות, ודאג לנו לכל מה שאנו צריכים. הנוף הכי יפה שאפשר לקבל בת'ת. שקט מופתי, מקום רגוע ושלו. חדר יפה, חדש, הכל תקין ועובד מצויין. מסעדה עם אווירה ביתית וחמימה. ארוחות ברמה גבוהה ביותר. מומלץ מאוד. הכל באמת היה מצויין
• Julia (10/5): - Wohl das beste Hotel auf unserer 2-wöchigen Albanien-Reise. Liegt im schönsten Teil des Landes, schon allein das Bergpanorama ist Entspannung pur. Alle sind äußerst freundlich und entgegenkommend. Essen kann man im Hotel - die Hausherrin ist eine großartige Köchin. Die Atmosphäre beim Essen ist ruhig, entspannend, romantisch - einfach herrlich. Frühstück genauso. Sogar auf Allergien und Unverträglichkeiten wird auf Nachfrage eingegangen (in unserem Fall: glutunfreies Maisbrot zum Frühstück, glutunfreies Abendessen). Distanz zwischen Haupthaus (Zimmer) und Nebengebäude (Restaurant) außerdem Babyphon-tauglich, war ein unverhoffter Bonus ;-) Die Zimmer sind richtig schön - Balkon, Kamin, große Badewanne, genau wie auf den Fotos! Außerdem sehr sauber. Katze und Hund sind auch vor Ort - hat unserer Tochter besonders gut gefallen. Die Gegend zum Wandern wunderschön, wobei Bergwanderungen kaum ausgeschrieben und beworben sind. Gibt aber trotzdem ein paar, wenn man sich erkundigt.

• Brittany (10/5): Pure magic in the Albanian Alps - Such a special and unique experience in the Albanian Alps; the place is perched high with a truly stunning view. Gjon greeted us when we got there (quite later than expected) and was kind and personable. Our room was stunning, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is so quiet and peaceful here. We ate dinner on site all three nights and the dining room was cozy and warm, food was delicious and the homemade desserts were fantastic. Breakfast was always fresh and different each morning with a wide selection and great coffee. It was so nice to get to know Gjon and we loved being greeted by Luna (their dog) whenever we walked outside. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed. Truly one of the most amazing places we've ever stayed, do not hesitate to book! absolutely nothing to dislike

Gjon, Mary (ich hoffe korrekt geschrieben) und ihre Mama haben uns immer das Gefühl gegeben, willkommen und umsorgt zu sein. Sowohl das Frühstück als auch das Abendessen wurden immer frisch zubereitet und unsere kleinen Extrawünsche wurden immer mit einem Lächeln erfüllt. Vielen Dank dafür - ihr macht alles richtig! Wir konnten nichts finden, was uns gestört hat!

• Din Tz (10/5): - The family who owns the place was lovely and had a very attentive attitude. Such nice and warm people. There's plenty of parking at the peoperty. Gjon's mother cooks amazing food, so I would definitely recommend eat dinner there (we ate launce in Theth and it wasn't as good as dinner we ate at the guesthouse). Our room had an amazing view from the balcony. The bed was very comfortable. A/C worked well. Sheets were clean and had a smell of laundry. Bathroom had a strong smell that came from the plumbing, but we closed the door and it didn't bothered us much. Also water flow was unsteady. Besides that, everything was perfects.

• Bruce (10/5): Wondeful stay - Super friendly people, beautiful rooms and view, delicious fiod. Our favorite place to stay in Albania so far. Most guests have cars. We didn't, so getting to and from Theth (and hikes) required a 20 euro taxi ride, a 45 minute walk (half on a steep path through the woods and half on the road), or hitchhiking. We did all of those things. Still, we were happy staying at such a wondeful lodge rather than in Theth, which isn't particularly charming.

The food was all homemade but Mary or Gjon's mother (dinner) Order by 4 pm and they will tell you when it will be ready. Our room was very nice. The low bed was perfect for the area but hard on my very sore legs post hike! My fault not theirs. Everyone worked with us to solve our challenges and really enjoy ourselves. I strongly recommend staying here if at all possible. The driveway makes it a little tricky to get in and out. You have to drive into town but there are no bars or big restaurants you are going there for anyways. You only go in to do the hikes.

Nous étions en visite à Theth pour une partie de notre lune de miel Albanaise. Lorsque nous l'avons fait savoir, Gjon et sa soeur nous ont préparé un bel accueil dans la chambre que nous avions choisie. C'est un endroit si reposant, on a adoré. Rien du tout

Location has a beautiful view, and accessible to the hiking trails and center of town ny car. The breakfast was great and the dinner, prepared daily by Drita, is superb (try the meatballs, just do it). Room was spacious and comfortable - we had pouring rain one day and it was just nice to be able to hang out in the room. We just loved everything about this guesthouse and did not want to leave. We will be back one day!

• Emily (10/5): Most peaceful and best trip of our lives! - There are no words for how beautiful this family-run property is. We came for three days for our honeymoon and loved every second about it. The food in the restaurant was delicious and home-cooked, the staff and family were friendly and helpful, and the entire place was spotless. The part you truly cannot beat is the view. I have never had mountain views like this in my life. 10/10, would live here if I could! Nothing to dislike but keep in mind that there is a portion of the road leading up to the property that is unpaved so make sure your car can handle it!

The breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Sign up for the dinner Drita is an amazing cook and such a reasonable cost. This family makes you feel like you are part of theirs. Really hated to say goodbye! Maybe until we meet again Nothing. It’s perfect.

Het uitzicht vanaf de accommodatie is adembenemend. We hebben snachts zelfs de melkweg mogen zien! Het ontbijt buffet en diner was heerlijk. Met grote dank aan de host en hostess John en Mary!
• Brooke (10/5): Unforgettable time! - What a lovely stay at Valter and Dritas place! We interacted more with their son and daughter, and they were lovely and helpful. It’s a comfortable stay with delicious food and the most amazing food. One highlight, we walked a short 15 minutes to the zipline to take that into town! Highly recommend staying here. No complaints

Always greeted us and asked if we had any needs. Food was fresh and exceptionally made. Wish we had more days to try all the menu options. Our room was above the restaurant, so could hear the foot traffic in the morning.

• Cameron (10/5): - Valter and Drita's was by far our favorite place we stayed in our two plus weeks in Albania and Montenegro. Gjon and family were the best hosts we have ever had, and made our stay absolutely wonderful. From delightful breakfast and dinner service (we ate every dinner at the hotel to savor Gjon's mother's cooking), to going out of their way to help us with a dead car key battery - the people are what made this stay feel like home. Similarly, the rooms were pristine and well appointed, and the views were absolutely stunning. Our balcony was an especially nice way to end the day. My girlfriend and I still talk often about what a wonderful time we had here, and we would recommend it to anyone who is looking to enjoy a wonderful trip to Theth.

Von der Möglichkeit, Abendessen zu bestellen, haben wir gerne Gebrauch gemacht; das Abendessen war sehr gut. Die Zimmer verfügen über eine zweckmäßige Ausstattung und über schöne Balkons. Es gibt genügend Parkmöglichkeiten auf dem Gelände.
• איתי (10/5): - Amazing guesthouse run by John and his family. We felt at home as soon as we arrived thanks to John's welcome, John's mother is an amazing cook and one evening we stayed for dinner and really enjoyed it. Another evening we sat with a bottle of wine around the fire that John had set up in the courtyard. Amazing and magical view and comfortable rooms. The only problem is the frequent power cuts, but that's the case for most of the area. We will definitely be back.

• Lauren (10/5): Fantastic, gorgeous views and feeling like a family. - The property is absolutely gorgeous with the most beautiful Mountain View’s. The staff were lovely, they are a family ran business and they all are very attentive to your needs. Luna the dog included. In your room there is a menu for beautiful home cooked meals for dinner upon pre-order and the choice to eat inside in the restaurant or out in the garden surrounded by beautiful views. Breakfast is included in your booking with a wide selection of food and drinks available In a buffet style. The rooms are perfect, air-con available and also a wood burn fire if it gets too cold at night. The hot tub was a highlight for myself, after a day of hiking in Theth it was a great way to relax the legs for more activities the next day. The balcony view is outstanding too, that’s what I will miss most about my stay. The property is higher up in the hill so it would have been easier to have a car for getting down and back from the village of Theth, however do not let this put you off if you are on foot. Taxis are available for pick up and drop off, but today I was lucky as Mr Valter was heading into town and offered me a lift for my hike to Valbona. A very good experience and I hope to return one day. Nothing, it was perfect.

• Zoe (10/5): Magical! - This Guesthouse is really something special - the view, the room, the staff (family!) and the FOOD! We had such a wonderful stay and Gjon and his family were just delightful - the pictures don’t do it justice. A real “wow” experience and would love to visit again some day!

• Katie (10/5): No review can do justice to how wonderful this place is - don't hesitate and just go! - This is one of the most outstanding places, if not the most outstanding place, I have ever stayed. It's the perfect mix between the personal touches of a homestay and a high-end B&B. Both the view (totally worth paying extra for a balcony room facing the mountains) and the food cooked by Gjon's mum are truly wonderful. Gjon is never more than a Whatsapp away and delivered drinks to our room whenever we asked. Already dreaming of our return to Theth and to Valter and Drita's guesthouse. Definitely not a criticism but just important to note that the property isn't in the centre of Theth but 3/4km further up the mountain. However this makes the views even more spectacular than in the village, and the food and hospitality are so good that we didn't want or need to go anywhere else in the evening. We didn't have a car like lots of other guests, but we were totally fine to walk down into Theth, utilise taxis and Gjon very kindly dropped us off at the trailhead for the hike to Valbona.

Hosts were helpful, knowledgeable about the area and very attentive. Great location. More of a suggestion rather than a dislike…heated metal containers with lid to keep the breakfast food warm.
• Viktoria (10/5): Wunderschöne Unterkunft, herzliche Betreiber, ausgezeichnetes Essen - Unser dreitägiger Aufenthalt in Valter & Drita‘s Guesthouse war wirklich wunderschön. Das Guesthouse wird von einer sehr herzlichen Familie geführt, die sich jeder Zeit bestens um ihre Gäste kümmern. Das Frühstück und Abendessen waren ausgezeichnet und die Zimmer sind total gemütlich und sauber eingerichtet. Das Highlight ist der schöne Blick auf die Berge. Die Unterkunft liegt mit dem Auto nur wenige Minuten von Theth entfernt, von wo aus man tolle kleiner und größere Wanderungen machen kann. Wir können jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen hier ein paar Tage zu verbringen.

Ligging is prachtig, met uitzicht op de bergen. De kamers zijn wat gehorig. Voor een extra koffie of thee bij het ontbijt moet je betalen.
