• Birgita (6/5): - Gott sei Dank habe ich kein Frühstück gebucht und nur immer extra angefragt. Da es immer ein Lotteriespiel war, ein Frühstück zu bekommen, da die Besitzer sehr unzuverlässig waren. Es hat dann aber ganz gut geschmeckt, wenn wir uns ab und zu entschlossen, dort Frühstück einzunehmen. Man musste nämlich eine 3/4 Stunde warten, was eigentlich ein Wahnsinn ist. Die Zimmer waren nicht sehr sauber, sehr abgewohnt, es wurde nichts renoviert. Im Barbereich war alles sehr unsauber und ungepflegt.
• GRACE (4/5): umm a bit disappointing and wouldn't go back - View was good No cups or kettle in the room, microwave but no cutlery or plates, no spear toilet rolls, no one came in to emptey the bin and i was theire just under a week
• Joye (10/5): The location cannot be beat. The best beach on Antigua . - The best beach location on Antigua. Our deluxe king studio with large balcony with panoramic view of the sea with Monserrat in the distance was perfect. The pictures seem accurate. It is not high end but very comfortable. It is located between 2 higher end boutique hotels but it is the same beach. There are 3 restaurant choices along Turners beach within walking distance on the beach and we tried them all. Other restaurants are a short drive away. Sean’s garden on the hillside is beautiful. The tortoise area is amazing. The day we arrived a tortoise laid an egg and guarded it after burying it. The restaurant wasn’t fully operational but other choices were available nearby. People with mobility issues may have a problem walking up a short hill to the rooms.it was fine for us.

• Veka (8/5): Next to One of The Best Beaches in Antigua - Next to one of the best beaches in Antugua, aweaome view, clean, super staff, lovely young dog called Bella who took my flip frop - I got it back ;) and some tortoises. Breakfast is good too. Drinking too many coffees could make your breakfast expensive :D

Located on a lovely beach, but there is a road between the property and the beach. Would need to be careful with children.

• jaco (6/5): Armoedige kwaliteit voor de prijs - Kamer is groot met goed bed. Water zowel koud als warm ruim en goed. De slaapkamer was 's nacht hel verlicht doordat plantjes op het terrein dan moesten doorgroeien en alle gordijnen veel te dun waren. Gelegen vrijwel op een zeer lawaaiige weg die overigens aan een leuk strandje ligt. Kitchenette en badkamer armoedige kwaliteit. We moesten vragen om glazen en ander keuken materiaal. Eigenlijk klopte er heel veel niet maar het loste zich vaak op door erom te vragen. Dat is wat de beheerder Shawn ook zei: u krijgt het alleen als u erom vraagt. Ontbijt van te bescheiden kwaliteit. Diner kon ermee door echter nooit konden wij of anderen de vis op de kaart bestellen aangezien die nooit te krijgen was. De beheerder is behulpzaam maar niet professioneel.

• David (10/5): - This is a clean and comfortable hotel with a beach right across the road. The big draw here is the staff and service. Owner Shawn goes out of his way to attend to your needs and comfort. Shawn's wife cooks dinner and it was truly amazing--really great food, definitely plan to eat at least one meal there. Orrie's is five star place on a three star budget!
• Karin (6/5): - Der tolle Blick aufs Meer und der gegenüberliegende Strand. Es war alles äußerst abgewohnt und zum Teil schmutzig.Die Fliegengittertür lag auf dem Balkon, die Steckdosen fallen aus der Wand. Vor dem Hotel geht die kleine Küstenstraße in eine Kurve über, was zu deutlichem Autolärm führt.

• Michela (9/5): Vista mare, nella colorata allegria caraibica - La camera era spaziosa, colorata, provvista di tutto l'arredamento necessario (tavoli e sedie sia per l'interno che per l'esterno, frigorifero e microonde) e con il balcone proprio di fronte al meraviglioso mare di Antigua: svegliarsi la mattina con quella vista è impagabile! La struttura vanta anche un bar-ristorante, sempre vista mare, aperto tutto il giorno e di sera (cosa per nulla scontata, ho trovato orari molto più ridotti in giro per l'isola), dove è possibile avere colazione/pranzo/cena o fermarsi per un ottimo aperitivo o per un delizioso cocktail serale. Il locale è davvero carino e il plus è il simpaticissimo proprietario capace di catapultare i suoi ospiti nel più distensivo del relax e nell'allegro ambiente caraibico che ha creato. La posizione è un po' decentrata rispetto alle zone turistiche più conosciute e di conseguenza i servizi nei dintorni sono minori. Però se - come noi - avete intenzione di visitare sia la parte ovest che la parte est dell'isola, diventa l'ideale perchè si trova grosso modo equidistante dalle principali mete sia ad est che ad ovest. Mi sono trovata molto bene, perciò segnalo giusto qualche piccolo dettaglio. La luce del terrazzo funzionava ad intermittenza, una delle lampadine del bagno non funzionava, una delle finestre non si chiudeva del tutto e c'era un piccolo buco nella zanzariera. Sono dettagli secondari, ma con un po' di attenzione anche a queste piccole cose, migliorerebbe ulteriormente.
• Jo Sweeney Hughes (9/5): Chilled out vibe - Beautiful view with lovely beaches nearby. Friendly, welcoming hosts. Big, comfy bed. Hot shower. Good air con Tortoises! Not much night life nearby. Bar on site and one 5 mins walk away, but both quiet. If you stay here, please spare a few dollars and buy the tortoises some lettuce/cabbage/carrots, they love it.
• Andrea (9/5): Very hospitable host in a paradise location. - Close to a spectacular beach. Shawn was very welcoming and extremely helpful. When we arrived he had just had to take his wife to the hospital, but he ran to buy some fish for us, which was so thoughtful. The room has a very comfortable bed. It’s a large room, with homely touches.Fantastic balcony with an amazing view of glorious sunsets. Shawn even put up a hammock for me! Good shower too. Seating area in the room was useful. There was a kitchen, but it was quite basic facilities. (There was a good sized fridge though which was very useful).

• Wendy (10/5): Great value and great stay on the best beach - We absolutely loved our stay at Orrie’s on Antigua's most beautiful beach! Shawn, a wonderful local host, made us feel right at home. It was such a refreshing change from the all-inclusive resorts, and having local restaurants and supermarkets nearby was so convenient for preparing simple meals and enjoying those amazing beach sunsets. The view from our room was simply breathtaking – waking up to the beach and sea every day was a treat. Plus, the tropical gardens with the adorable tortoises and the fun beach bar with their fantastic rum punches made it even more memorable. Hiring a car from the airport made it a lot easier to get around. Like the rest of Antigua, the roads are dotted with potholes.

• Eamonn (10/5): Exceptional - We arrived at Orries after i was discharged from hospital in antigua to recover post pneumonia. Shaun couldn't have been more helpful and supportive. His care and support was above and beyond he took us food shopping, he took us to and from a local restaurant he even used his mobile to phone our insurance company when our phones wouldn't work. He is so friendly and helpful and the location is stunning I truly believe Shaun played a huge part in my recovery and we are both very grateful to him

• Judith (10/5): Happy Hideaway. - Lovely large room, very comfortable - loved the decor. This is in no way a criticism, however if you are a light sleeper please take ear plugs & an eye mask. The room is close to the main road & the curtains are thin & flimsy.

• Sukrutha (10/5): Outstanding, incredible, exceptional - I've never stayed in a place that exceeded all my expectations, and I'll return to Orrie's as much as possible. Turner beach is incredible- gentle waves, fine sand, and not crowded at all. The location can't be beat. Ortie's is right next to a resort that costs at least 4x the price, so the value for money is unbeatable. The property is excellent- hot water in the showers, balconies overlooking the beach with sunset views, extremely comfortable beds, and a gorgeous, manicured pathway with flowers, artwork and turtles! Shawn, the owner, is a truly exceptional host. For example, one of the guests had a craving for French fries. He put the oil on, drove to the store, bought potatoes and made them for her on the spot! The walkway to the rooms is steep- be cautious if you have mobility issues.

Morning swims in the ocean and incredible sunsets from the room balcony. It's only a short walk to a few other restaurants on the beach. It is a beautiful place and I would happily go back in the future.

Expensive for what it was, rooms are very comfortable but cheaply furnished. Breakfast could have been included for the price. Were offered water when we arrived & then charged US $6 for it.

• Nicholas (10/5): Relaxing, hospitality was next level, friendly and welcoming place to unwind and have some good chats about life - Sean and Valencia were super Hosts! They went out their way to make sure I was having a great time. Delicious local-style breakfast and dinner was spot on! The views were amazing, sounds of the ocean from my bed and the aircon was great :) karaoke night was fun too. There's nothing to say for this. It was my favorite stay in Antigua.

• Elliott (10/5): Shawn is wonderful! He made me feel like a brother as soon as I arrived, we talked about everything! Anything I needed w - The property is very modern & clean! Wifi works throughout the property and even on the beach! The view from the room is amazing! All the rooms have a balcony facing the ocean. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night was majestic and made for very comfortable nights sleep. The rooms are way better and more spacious than any hotel chain. The walls are thick too so you never hear anything going on next door or above.

• Rae (9/5): Very chilled, beach holiday spot. - Orries was really quiet, very chilled out vibe. Sean was very kind and couldn't do enough for us, really genuine person. Nothing to do with Orries, but you do need a car to get around as the places nearby are limited for food or closed (in June).

Food is basic but great, if you want something specific in the evening just ask. I asked during the day and they got it ! Drinks too. Good WiFi. If you want to escape the big hotel type holiday this is a great choice. Nothing really, but be prepared to be in an Antiguan state of mind and not clock watch !

Staff were amazing, made you feel like you were at home, would definitely stay here again if I return to Antigua.

• Tammie (10/5): Perfect relaxing vacation and the motto says it all "come as guests, leave as family" - We spent an amazing 3 days at Orrie's. We got dropped off and made this our destination. There is no reason to leave such a relaxing place when it has everything you need. Shawn, Steve and Jawkim welcome you with open arms and will get you anything you request during your stay. If they don't have it they will get it. Whatever you want to eat is cooked individually delicious and fresh. Besides the beautiful beach, there is a tortoise area and a landscaped hillside where you can sit and admire the ocean view but if you can't disconnect completely the internet is fast at the bar, in the room and even on the beach. Everything is made to order so no menu with prices for most items. We opted to setup a tab and pay when we checked out. If you are not familiar with Antiqua prices and the exchange rates, I would recommend settling your account each day. As a side note, if you are looking for nightlife till the wee hours of the morning or a pedicure on the beach this is not the place for you.
• Helene (9/5): Great place and great staff. We had really good times here. - Steve and Sean who run this place are great. Nothing is too much trouble and they do everything possible to make you feel welcome. You have to remember you are not staying at the Ritz or paying the price for it. It is authentic and real with no frills but perfect for us. The accommodation is good and views are great from the room. It sits almost on Turners Beach which is wonderful and really quiet. Nothing I can think of.

• Brandy (9/5): Boutique Hotel - Orrie's is a lovely little boutique hotel. It's quiet, laid back and most importantly right on the beach. Fantastic view of the ocean from your balcony. The staff is amazing. I don't think I have been hosted by anyone else more attentive. I had a great time and honestly didn't want to leave. I wasn't able to stay longer 😪.

• Chris (9/5): Orries', motto is, " Arrive as guests and leave as family", that is exactly how we felt. - Breakfast was made to order fresh every morning. With a wide range of choices from over-easy fluffy eggs to pancakes with maple syrup and lots of fresh fruit. With an ample supply of fresh coffee. Served by the wonderful friendly staff who went above and beyond to fulfil any request we may have had. The location was excellent with exquisite views and only a minute from the beach. We liked everything.

Lovely breakfasts and rum punch! The view from the bar is heavenly. The view from every room is incredible and the location and setting is spectacular. • Nicola (9/5): Chilled vibes - Sean's welcome was delightfully chilled after a week's sailing. The room was spacious, bright and clean. Dinner and breakfast were lovely. The pace is chilled and the conversation is great but combined with a very efficient airport transfer so perfect! A really good value spot with great beach just over the road for a night. He took us shopping when we arrived helped us get our barings organised our trips taxis always with a smile. Not much to complain about.THe picture's I had looked at before hand show you what your getting.

• Jane (7/5): Relaxing, friendly place to stay. Great for budget traveller looking for small quiet hotel on a beach. Basic, no frills - Right next to the beach. Great views out to sea from the bar and top floor bedroom and balcony. Huge, clean room, large comfortable bed, lovely decor, air con, fan, plenty of hot water and good shower. Walking distance to beach bars, restaurants. Short drive to more beaches and restaurant bars. Plus all the other island attractions. Friendly, fun and genuinely lovely staff that went out of their way to make sure comfortable and well looked after. Good home cooked food. Great bar area to chat to other guests.

Shaun stored my luggage and let me use a room for a shower before my evening flight. Coconut prawn curry was delicious for dinner. My room was huge. Shaun quickly sorted out a missing hairdryer and a programming issue with the A/C - which was then very effective

• Sridhar (9/5): Excellent Location, Friendly Host, Extraordinary View. If you are here for the Beach, this is it. - Location, Location, Location, overlooking Turners Beach from the side of a hill off Valley Road with the water only a minute or two away from your room, our mornings and evenings (sunset) were spectacular ( and the rest of the day). This is not an all inclusive, or even aims to be one. The Rooms are spacious and adequate. The High ceilings on the top floor does keep the room cool even on a hot day. It has A/C and Fans, both effective. It had a microwave, a coffee machine and small fridge, No TV. We bought our own coffee, milk and some beer for our mornings and afternoon relaxation respectively on the Balcony. This is no-frills place. Shawn the host is cheerful resource who tries his best to make your visit the best with his friendly assistance and ability to hook you up with local resources, be it a rental car, a Cab, an Adventure guide or a meeting with his very good take on Rum Punch. He and his crew can cook you a breakfast or dinner, though as every else on the Island, these do not work on New York Time are a bit expensive, things take time here and everywhere else when it comes to food. But set your expectations accordingly. The view from the balcony though is the best money can buy. The moderate lift it provides off the sea level, would definitely be the envy of those in 5 star resorts around the Island who have crowded beaches in them and would pay many times over to get a similar view. You need a rental car in Antigua. Our decision to not go to an All-Inclusive was vindicated. At this price point, this place was more than par for the course. Food and Drinks are overpriced.

• Thomas (1/5): Very very disappointing. The worst stay! - The hotel was very basic. The kitchenette in the room was very basic.. had no crockery, cups, cutlery or anything! A coffee machine did not work! I reported it but nothing was done, Everything! There was no service. The rooms were mosquito infested. The mosquito net was unusable, dirty, torn. The meshes in the windows were broken in places. There was no running water on 2 out of 3 days. The rooms were not cleaned. There was no bar open or restaurant or any breakfast offered. The bar wax permanently closed after Sunday eve!
• Peter (8/5): Great views - Complimentary Wadadli on arrival was very much appreciated. It was a hot day. Friendliness and extremely helpful. Great views and very close to the beach. Sean even drove us to Jolly Harbour at the end of our stay which was unexpected. As end of the season it was rather quiet.

• Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location right on Turner’s Beach. The hotel was clean and the staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. There are many other beaches, bars, and restaurants just a short drive (or even walk) away. The hotel having WiFi and air conditioning was also a plus.

He is working really hard to get everything perfect but couldn’t do enough for us. No tv or kettle but these will come in time. Food was provided for us and was fabulous cannot praise this place enough and we have holidayed in Antigua for 18 years xx Tea coffee and kettle but I know this will come soon in the rooms.
• Mircea-ioan (10/5): The place you want to be - If you’re not looking for one of those industrial all-inclusive resorts, this is THE place for you. It’s just a few yards from Turner Beach, one of the best in Antigua and a short distance from St. John. From the balcony you’ll have a great view to the smoking volcano on Montserrat and a glimpse of Redonda and Nevis. However, its greatest asset is Shawn, who will make you feel at home in this paradise. He is a treasure of useful knowledge about the island and helped us be comfortable during our stay. He went above and beyond and secured us a rental car under the market price which I highly recommend. Also he cooked for us a fiery jerk chicken which I dare you to try. Thank you, Shawn! The rumours about the internet are not true, we had good Wi-Fi coverage, even on the beach. The car park is small and has an awkward entrance, but you’ll always find a spot. Alternatively, you can park on the side road further down if you’re not confident in your skills. A car is a must, taxis are prohibitively expensive. We loved it.

• Christopher (10/5): Practically perfect in every way! with just the right sprinkling of tropical paradise - Orries is a little gem. I had a wonderful stay and was made to feel most welcome from the moment I arrived to the day I left. the king suite was clean, colourful and full of good vibes. The little feel good quotes and touches around the property make all the difference. I was travelling alone due to marriage breakdown and this was just what the doctor ordered. Shawn is amazing, the most warm and friendly guy you could meet, nothing is a problem and everything is so easy going. The location is Perfect overlooking a beautiful calm beach, the sea is as it looks in magazines and was warm like bath water. The gardens are landscaped beautifully with tropical plants and fruits, bursting with life such as lizards, butterflies and hummingbirds. It was everything I could have wished for from a vibrant and typical break in the Caribbean. Orries is highly recommended. There is nothing I can fault. Highly recommended
• Gretchen (7/5): Good - The Service was GREAT and Very Friendly Staff. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The View is Amazing. The beach is just in front of the Hotel, you can just relax and watch all the Beautiful Sunsets from there. The room was really big and the bed was comfortable. If you do not care about fancy, you can definitely stay here, everyone makes you feel welcome, and as I said before, they go above and beyond for their guests. The room is outdated.

• Anthony (2/5): Antigua was amazing, Orrie's was not. - The only redeeming feature of Orries is the location - across the road from one of the best beaches in Antigua The facilities were misrepresented - there was no Fridge, Kettle or Microwave as advertised. The toiletries comprised of two rolls of toilet paper and an almost empty bottle of hand wash. No shampoo, shower gel etc. The shower was blocked. After our arrival the room wasn't cleaned and the bedding and towels were not changed for the 4 days we were there.
• Christopher (10/5): total gem of a place, wonderful hosts, beautiful surroundings - What a wonderful place, with its rustic charm, vibrant colours and the stunning and very chilled beach. I would have happily stayed here much longer if my itinary had allowed it. The people running the place are so friendly and so helpful, especially Shawn who did so much to make my stay: organised transfer for me, connected me with a local tennis coach, he dropped off at the courts the first day (Jolly Harbour Sport Centre incase you’re interested) and even found a room for me on my return when they were all booked up. The people who work here really take pride in this place and go out of their way to may you feel welcome. I really hope I get to return one day.

• Der (10/5): Exceptional - The location is just right off the beach with an airy bar/cafe and then hotel. We booked into their basic room downstairs and it was comfortable but lacking in a few kitchen items, but Shawn the manager, hotel motto of come as guests, leave as family came thru. After a cancellation, he upgraded us to an upstairs room with some nicer amenities, microwave, water jug, coffee machine, and fridge. Thank you Shawn. The decor in all rooms were great, nice touches that make it lively and homey. There are tortoises in the back garden and they made a sanctuary garden in the back to sit and enjoy the sunsets. The basic room downstairs, the bed, living room and bathroom were comfortable. I wish they added at least a fridge and some kitchen utensils. But you can get them from the bar.

I’m absolutely going to be returning! my room was spacious, sea view to die for, hearing the waves all night was bliss. As a female solo traveller I felt so safe and looked after. The love that has gone into Orrie’s and their gardens really shows. Well done to Sean and the team! not applicable!

The location also speaks for itself - a stone's throw away from one of the best beaches in Antigua with incredible views. Highly recommend staying here!
