Guest Reviews
- Siv (7/5): - Centrala läget Uteplatsen var inte fräsch.
Någon rökte hasch/ marijana och troligtvis odling?! I annan våning ovanför oss.
- Guest (4/5): - excellent location, close to the metro and in a great neighborhood One bedroom has a serious water leak, the smell is unbearable and unhealthy, there are no windows, and it's unbearable. We slept in the living room.
It's a basement, and there's only one window in the bathroom, so the whole apartment smelled. At one point, we noticed that even our clothes smelled. In the bathroom with the shower, you could see that they'd tried to repaint over the mold, but the mold was still clearly visible.
There was no detergent to clean the kitchen or even the dining table, and only three dishwasher tablets for four nights. The kitchen was bare.
The shower faucets didn't work properly, and the water was always too cold.
The owner responds promptly to messages, but our experience is exactly as described above.
- Tayah (4/5): - Location was great Lacked kitchen supplies and there was a serious mould issue in one of the bedrooms. It was extremely unsafe to sleep in.
- Lauren (3/5): Mouldy and not safe to stay - Collecting the keys was easy, the host kept in touch during the duration of our stay and the location was fantastic. The price seemed very reasonable for the area but when we got to the apartment I realised why it was so cheap. While we had some problems during our stay, the host did allow us to have a later checkout which was helpful. We had booked this before any negative reviews had been made and experienced the exact same problems mentioned by others. It is a basement apartment as expected and while there obviously won’t be as much airflow compared to upper levels, there was a seriously concerning mould problem. There is a damp mouldy smell around the entire apartment. The main bedroom walls and ceilings were covered in mould and there was mould in the bathroom. There was a dehumidifier in one bedroom however when we arrived it was turned off with the door closed, cutting any airflow. We had to pull the mattress out the room to the living room and 2 of us slept on the livingroom floor as it didn’t feel safe to sleep in the room. There were not many windows so whenever we were in the apartment or sleeping we kept the door to the patio wide open. As mentioned previously, this is a small area in which toilet windows open out to. There were pipes that had water pouring out the bottom of them and we were not sure if this was attached to a toilet in the flat above. The cabinet in the kitchen was broken (as stated a few months ago) and while the countertops were clean, the floor was dirty with other people’s hair and crumbs lying around indicating that it had been given a quick wipe but not hoovered. The flat looked unfinished with holes that have been filled and left, broken lights, marks on the walls/radiators and a broken toilet roll holder. I contacted the host about these various issues as soon as we arrived who was responsive and said he would look into sorting a cleaner for us. He informed me that they had a specialist out who advised protecting it with mould paint and that there is water coming from the flat above so there isn’t much that can be done. In regards to the cleanliness, he got in touch the next afternoon to say he could have it cleaned again but we were leaving the next again day so left it. I don’t believe it’s safe to stay here, especially if you are asthmatic.
- Saskia (7/5): Good - Great location, close to big metro station, bus stops and restaurants. Apartment offers much more space than most London hotel rooms. Apartment needs some maintenance. Several broken or missing things. Damp problem in one of the bedrooms and kitchen walls. On arrival (at and after the agreed time) the cleaning lady was still busy. On last day the cleaning lady plus baby arrived an hour before check-out time.
- Velu (6/5): Except for the location, won't rate above 6/10 for this basement property. - Location was great. South Ken station was just across the street. There are lots of good eateries within 2-5 mins. Hyde park and History museums are within 5-10 min walk. This basement apartment was a significant disappointment, particularly given the rate. Both bedrooms lacked windows, and we found mold on the ceiling and walls. The floor was dusty and unclean. The bathroom layout was peculiar, with the toilet awkwardly positioned near the entry in what appeared to be a converted closet, and the shower at the opposite end – a detail not clear from the booking. Due to a lack of airflow, the apartment had a persistent musky odor. The 'patio' advertised was merely a small area where multiple toilet windows opened. Furthermore, a kitchen shelf appeared unstable. While the location was excellent, the property itself is essentially a basic basement conversion, and the booking photos and description were misleading, suggesting an above-ground unit.
- Ria (9/5): Superb - The location of this property is incredible, right opposite the Natural History Museum which was perfect for our visit. I would definitely look to stay here again in the future.
- Ella (8/5): I would advise to rent it if you are looking for great location and peaceful stay - Location was excellent. Very quiet and peaceful. Needs a little bit of maintenance.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Bjørn (1/5): Stay away from this underground health hazard - This underground apartment is a health hazard. You will probably become sick there from dampness and underground fumes as me and my partner became. We had to move after 1 day, and the dishonest owner did not refund the 2 next days. Stay away unless you want to ruin your London trip.
- Dominic (10/5): We had an amazing stay over the weekend! The apartment was fantastic — clean, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. The l - Location
- Alan (7/5): Good -
- Joanna (10/5): Recommend - location is fantastic and accommodation has everything that you need - Fantastic location! Museums, restaurants, 2 stops from Victoria Station
Very comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay in London.
Host was excellent. He was very kind in arranging that we could check in early
- Ashley (10/5): 5* - Everything was fantastic, the location couldn't be any better and the apartment had everything that you could possibly need. Absolutely nothing!
- Kellee (10/5): Perfect basement apartment in beautiful Mews by South Kensington Tube & Attractions. Excellent - Fabulous! I was expecting it to be tucked away on a back street, however it was perfectly located in a basement apartment in a beautiful Mews building opposite South Kensington Tube and within 100yards of The National History Museum & Science Museum in the district of South Kensington and Chelsea. It was quiet with good facilities although we ate out so only used the kitchen for the kettle to make hot drinks. The toilet was separate from the shower room which was ideal for a family. Lots of little eateries in close proximity and a 20 minute walk from Harrods. The host was responsive and and available on WhatsApp. Fabulous value for money and more convenient for us as a family than a hotel stay, the host allowed us to check in early which was very helpful as we didn't have to carry our bags around London. We were met at the apartment to hand over the keys.
I would stay here again next time I visit London. Not a dislike but a suggestion - it would be handy to have the Wifi code available as a QR Code, maybe in a photo frame or on a stand.
- Kira (9/5): Superb - Great location - just 2 minutes walk from the subway. Nice and quiet place and perfect for a family travelling with children. Friendly and helpful host.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Dagmar (9/5): Superb - The locality was perfect, very nice, calm, good assessibility everywhere...I can recommend it.
- Irfan (7/5): Good -
- Jonathan (7/5): Brilliant location in South Kensington, easy to get to and central to many local attractions - Great location
- Anthony (7/5): It was a lovely stay in an apartment that was ideal for central London - Loved the quietness and the location
The flat was well appointed and comfortable Just a few housekeeping and minor repair issues
- Ibrahim (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment has everything you need for accommodation, cooking utensils, washing machine, ironing machine, refrigerator and freezer. The apartment is clean.
The host is helpful.
The separate shower is a good size.
Good location next to South Kingston station, where you can reach Heathrow Airport directly by the underground (Piccadilly line). You can enter the apartment from the main door of Building No. 9 and then go down the stairs to the basement. Bathroom size is small
- Martin (8/5): Great location, great host, but the bathroom and shower can take some work to accommodate our family of four. - Location! It’s right next to the underground station with ton of restaurants nearby. 1) Host listed a 1.5 bathroom, thought we would have a full bath and a half bath. But not the case, we have a half bath with toilet and sink, but the other bathroom is not a full bath, it’s a shower with sink only.
2) shower water war too hot for my kids. Shower nobs are not working well with broken pieces.
3) would be nice if there is a full body mirror in the room.
