- Agustin (6/5): Small and clean apartment that need some improvements - It was clean and autonomius arrival was fine 2 blinds were broken, so a lot of light early in the morning. We were 2 adults and 1 children but there was only towels and sheets for 2, communication with owner was in german from their side and I dont speak it, I had to ise google translator

- Rebecca (6/5): Easy to find , quiet though built up residential area. Enabled us to visit two Christmas markets in Essen and Oberhause - Clean bedroom and living room area. Some thought has gone into making this a simple but stylish studio. Parking was a game of chance - not freely available as in the details. The stench of weed in the entryway and then the imbedded smell of smoke in the corridors meant that I was holding my breath between the elevator and the front door. The property feels unfinished - bedroom and living area are lovely but the bathroom is tired and the kitchen/entryway is not fit for purpose. Netflix is advertised in the details but a previous guest had not signed out and had a PIN code protected account. I requested help from the owner via booking.com and what’s app but a solution was not forthcoming. I did manage to sort this eventually. The blinds in both windows do not work well - upstairs leaves an inch gap at the bottom and the living area one does not stay down at all…this has been reported on an earlier review by another guest. The ‘stairs’ to the mezzanine sleeping area are steep (more like a ladder with treads). Not ideal.

- Gabriele (7/5): Ok apartment for a short stay in Essen - Nicely decorated and very bright. It had a lift and the keyless access worked very well. Comfortable bed. The area was very suburban and had no attractions. It was very hot while we were there and the roof windows wouldn’t stay open while the blinds didn’t work well either. They supply a fan which we carried upstairs so we could sleep. The shower screen door doesn’t work properly. The kitchen was ok but tiny so don’t expect to do much cooking. The ladder leading to the mezzanine bedroom is not for the faint-hearted! Beware if you are not fit or very mobile.
- John (8/5): Great little apartment in a central location for Essen. - This a really nice little apartment and is situated close to restaurants and shops. Other than a faulty electronic key mechanism which is being fixed, the place was ideal for my trip. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The electronic entry system failed when I was out at a restaurant - which was a little frustrating since I could not get back into the apartment when I returned. Still, Jonas came out to get me back in! The only design feature that I found difficult was the access staircase to the bedroom on the mezzanine floor. It is reminiscent of an access way between decks on a ship, quite steep and not good if, like me, you have two forms of arthritis in the legs! But, if you are fit - it is perfect!
