Guest Reviews
- Gauthier (5/5): - We like the cleanliness of the facilities and we could sit outside and access to the yard. The bed was not comfortable and we were paying for a bedroom and not the whole house. Other than the bedroom we share the house/facilities with the owner. There was no private entrance as advertised and felt that the owner was often checking on us and he was a often with us. It was a boarding house rather than renting the property.
- Karen (10/5): I would like to come back again in a few months when I have more vacation time - Breakfast was elaborate and felt very special every day, it was one of my favourite things about my stay, also the bicycle which allowed me to get around easily to visit local sites and family nearby. The host, Victoria, is friendly and welcoming, was so kind to me and provided helpful information It was really nice, hard to think of what I didn’t like, I was a bit too hot at night but that was from weather only and a fan was provided which was lovely at night with the window open a bit
- Alex (10/5): -
- Marion (9/5): Good value for the price. Friendly, helpful host. - It was clean & quiet. The breakfast was good & even had great tomatoes from the garden. Victoria was very helpful when we had an issue. He went above and beyond to help us. I wasn’t too comfortable talking my shoes off as I was wearing sandals so had to be barefoot. Next time I’ll pack slippers.
- Robert (9/5): Nice and quiet room with great service from the owner. - Very clean and well kept room within a very nice residence. Nice and quiet neighbourhood.
- Roy (10/5): Excellent will come back again - Victor made breakfast and gave us cucumbers and tomatoes from his garden. Shared bathroom
- Chelsie (10/5): -
- Leticia (4/5): -
- Ginger (10/5): Great location, great host - Very comfortable and clean. There wasn’t anything to dislike.
- Enrico (10/5): - L'host è super disponibile e gentile, ci ha da subito fatto sentire a casa!
La camera ed il bagno privato sono pulitissimi e ordinati!
La casa è situata in un bellissimo quartiere tranquillo vicino al lago!
Colazione a dir poco stupenda!
Consigliatissimo 😊
- Hans-Peter (8/5): - Viktor war die Freundlichkeit in Person. Selbst als ich ihn wegen des WLAN um 05:30 Uhr kontaktierte war ernüchternd so freundlich und servierte mir das Frühstück . . .
- Marko (7/5): Good -
- Shelley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hooley (1/5): Very good intentions do not a good B&B make - This was one of those places where you have to feel sorry for the owner and operator of the guest house. He is a very kind, and hard-working man who should just not be doing this. So, we liked the owner. He keeps an extremely clean establishment. He made us a nice breakfast. The guest house, we were told at breakfast, is available only to one set of visitors at a time. So, if you choose a room, that room is open to you, on the second floor. The other rooms are locked. The bathroom down the hall is yours to use. This is not quite what we thought was being offered from the description. We had to.let ourselves in by using a key from a keybox. But, in the middle of the night - after midnight, we heard someone come in and start doing things on the main floor. We could only hope it was the owner. The air was quite stifling. My wife went to look for the thermostat and turned the air to constant flow which helped. In the morning, the owner popped up to ask.us if he should make the breakfast for 7:30 instead of 8:00. We said ok. When we went down for breakfast the food was served at the table. He was already outside. The breakfast was ok but cold already. He came in after a while and talked with us. He is a nice man, but he does not know how to make a B&B comfortable and welcoming. It is clean, but actually rather too clean. The whole place smells like disinfectant. I don't know what to say other than this is a very nice man in a business he does not understand.
- Christine (8/5): Very clean, please familiarise yourself with the rules of the guest house, breakfast was very nice and the owner was fri - Guest house means a shared home stay with the owner on the same premises , across the hall.😉
Victor was very hospitable and friendly and did his utmost to make us feel comfortable. Booking.com did not advise the owner that we were arriving and as such he was surprised , we were lucky he was home but we did catch him by surprise 😊
- Chen (10/5): Exceptional - Victor was a very nice, hospitable, and friendly host who went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable . We especially enjoyed his breakfasts which he self-prepared, his private sauna, and riding his bikes alongside Lake Erie.
- Ankur (9/5): One word. Awesome - The host was awesome. If I travel again,I would chose the same place to stay.
- Chrzan (10/5): Exceptional - Nice, clean and pleasant. At breakfast the service was perfect
- Kathleen (10/5): Location very nice. Very clean. Host very accommodating - Delicious breakfast. On time. As our request
Served with a smile on pretty China. I like that Nothing could have been better for two nights we were there.
- Eileen (6/5): Not as advertised. It's a one bedroom on second floor without an ensuite bathroom. - Location close to border. It was a semi detached house more like airbnb than hotel. Home owner not there at checkin.
.
Not 24 hr desk as advertised. Small room upstairs on same floor as owners bedroom. Not ideal for solo female traveller.
- Mary (9/5): I was only there for 1 night, found it very clean and quiet, comfortable bed.. - The location was perfect for me. Very clean, quiet spot... Nice area for walking..
- Hana (10/5): Exceptional - It is amazing place to stay, calm, good parking, you can go easily for a walk with amazing Buffalo view, riding a bike or just chill. Before we came I was little bit worried because of the photos but in reality it is much much nicer!!!
- Jacqueline (8/5): Nice clean home. Polite host - Breakfast was very good. Very clean home. It would be nice have a private bathroom. Would have liked a tv. Did not have an ensuite bathroom
- Naim (8/5): Very good - Clean, nice host, quiet. Communication was a little not good. We called and texted the host but looks like he had problems with his phone and we could not communicate things on time.
- Stevenson-young (7/5): This was the best place we've stayed in Fort Erie in 5 years. - The breakfast was adequate.
The location was great.
The host Viktor was friendly and accommodating.
- Sue (7/5): It was convenient for an overnight on our two day Niagara Circle route bike ride. No extras! - Good home cooked and ready exactly when it was promised no identification of the property with signage saying Pelican Guest House/ we were confused arriving as it looked like someones house and we knocked and phoned with no answer and on second knock owner answered the door
- Kelin (8/5): Very good -
- Eli (7/5): Good - If you just need a place to sleep for a night or two, this place is fine but don't expect an exciting experience. You will get a bedroom with private bathroom, and a very basic breakfast, in a suburban house you will share with the owner. Breakfast.
- Jon (8/5): Very good -
- Joanna (10/5): Very pleasant overnight stay after a day of cycling. - Great location right off the Friendship Trail, minutes to Old Fort Erie; quiet, exceptionally clean, comfortable room and bathroom, great breakfast, nice and considerate host. Everything was great.
- Elizabeth (9/5): This is a suitable accomodation for anyone wanting a plain and simple stay over. The cost with the breakfast was very go - Very handy for what we needed. Place was well taken care of, clean and our host was excellent. The room was plain and small, but it was all we needed for this trip. Shared bathroom, but was large and clean with basic supplies.
Host supplied us with a lovely home cooked breakfast. Very friendly. The room needs a curtain on the side window as I felt that I could be seen when the lights were on at night. One towel isn’t enough per guest. No internet. Mirror needed on the wall in the bedroom, not in the closet.
- David (9/5): Superb - Very modern, nice, clean Room was a bit warm. But fan helped.
- Mauro (9/5): Superb - Very clean and quiet
Guest Is very friendly and willing to help
- Hocine (10/5): It was perfect -
- Peter (10/5): Friendly and very accommodating - The house was on a quiet residential street we were running late and they were able to accommodate our late check-in at 10:00 p.m. . Our room was clean and quiet and while we did not have an ensuite bathroom the bathroom on the floor was dedicated to us only. The host Victor was very friendly and prepared a fantastic breakfast the next day and really made us feel at home. He was a pleasure to talk to as well. While the house is in a residential neighborhood with not much to do around the immediate area it is only 10 km from Crystal Beach and 30 km from Niagara falls and considering the price you pay for the property it is well worth the drive. Everything was great no complaints
- Linda (6/5): Pleasant - It didn’t feel private.
- Rick (1/5): False advertising - The advertisement falsely suggested an entire property (when I rang Booking.com to complain they agreed). When I got there the man said it was only a room and quickly attempted to explain that I wouldn't get a full property for so cheap - this made me certain that he knew it was false advertising.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Victor did an excellent job making me feel welcome.
