Guest Reviews
- Angela (10/5): - Alles super, sehr schöne ruhige Lage👍😊 Es gab nichts zu beanstanden
- Riccobelli (9/5): unforgettable - the scenery, the bathrooms cause they were very clean, the breakfast and the vibes of the entire place the lights for the bikes didn’t work enough
- Jolly (9/5): In nature out of city noise - We, a family of four from Zurich, totally resistant to cow dung smell, stable machine noise and mosquito bites, were truly in touch with our souls at the Cow`s paradise, the BBB (bed, breakfast & bikes) facility in Amsterdam. The cows, the rabbits, the mist, the infinity of green nature.... We did 50kms on those rusty breakless bikes one day in a round trip of - Ransdorp- Holyshoot- Marken- Volendam- Monnickerdam - Broek villages. Smiling Ineke pulling the breakfast cart filled with fresh products, is an everlasting nostalgic memory. On the small stove in the Pipowagen, I managed to cook 3 piece dinner (carb-protein-veg) every day. No TV, hardly any use of internet.... we came back completely rejuvenated. Definitely we will go again.... Bikes - should be better maintained. I would have definitely preferred one with brakes and no rust. No other visitors used these bikes (except my family) because of their very poor condition.
Communication - We were assured by email that bikes for 130cm height kids is available, but once we reached there, we were asked to rent kids bikes ourselves from the city. The bikes are available only for 140 cm height person.
- Jaroslav (10/5): Awesome stay at Cows' paradise - Beautiful location, awesome owners and delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.
Bikes could use a bit of servicing but it was definitely a fun cycling trip! Cows were great 😃
- Terry (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luca (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location. It is 20 minutes to the city centre via Uber (~20€) and 15 minutes by bike to the nearest bus stop (~50 minutes on foot at a leisurely pace). I loved the breakfast provided daily at 8:30 on the dot. There is a very hot shower and a clean communal restroom area. I liked everything overall. The waggons are rustic, as expected from the farm setting; don't go into this expecting a glam camp or the like, or you will be disappointed.
- Christina (7/5): Beautiful sunset - Lovely, warm welcome ❤️
The view of the city and the wild life is beautiful, definitely out in the countryside.
Star gazing and watching the sunset ❤️ The noise of the farm during the night is not the best.
Beware of the GNATS!
Thank God for the beautiful views because the walk into Amsterdam is an absolute mission, But needs must as Some taxis refuse to pick up / drop off unless it's over a certain amount of money. (That's the taxis greed,, nothing to do with the farm).
- Tatjana (5/5): Passable - The room is clean, the view on the cows on the field is cool. Breakfast is ok, there was something for everyone's taste. Homemade yogurt is really good. Very big stable is extremely close and the smell is really unpleasant. We had to keep closed the windows on that side, but in some moments that was not enough. It would be much better if the wagons were on the other side of the field, away from the stable. The weather was fine, it would be nice to have a coffee or the breakfast infront of the wagon. Unfortunately it was impossible because of the smell. Also, night and day there is a noise of some kind of machine in the stable. It was not so unpleasant as the smell, but I think that we should be informed about that before booking.
- Norbert (9/5): Fresh air, very friendly and helpfull Spelt Family. Thank You! Nice Holiday for you Guys! - Shower container, pipowagen, and the coolest bikes all over the word.. :D I laugh so much for my friends… :D Spiders, mosquitos was a little bad for my friends.. I wake up middle of the night, cause my friends try to catch these little bastards during the night.. :D They was a bit angry about it.. :D Was so funny too.. :DD
- Pontalti (10/5): Exceptional -
- Macavan (9/5): Cozy and Calm - Everything was awesome at the property. It was easy to find and the inside was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The cows are close although we heard them the weather was rainy so we didn’t see them. We would definitely stay again! It says “private bathroom” but it is a shared bathroom.
- Nicola (9/5): Superb -
- Vivian (6/5): Fine if you have a car, no public transport or ride sharing available from the farm. - Very clean and the breakfast was great. We did enjoy riding the bikes, they are old, and the booklet with suggested bike riding routes was appreciated. You need a car, I would not book unless you are willing to pay for a taxi to pick you up when leaving, there is no other options, Bolt and Uber will drop you off, but they will not pick you up. Cost 30Euro for a taxi to Noord Station, no public transport! There is no way of getting a Uber or Bolt to come and pick you up, the only way is to order a taxi and it is expensive. There is a very strong smell of urine from the shed, we were there for 4 days and the cows are in the shed the whole time.
- Angela (8/5): This would definitely be a place you'd need a good week to fully enjoy all it has to offer. Relaxing - Breakfast was delicious with farm fresh eggs and soft bread being my favourite. A nice quiet rural atmosphere despite being right beside the cows. The cows weren't let out while we were there. But it was probably due to the weather.
- Feng (8/5): Very good - Cows
Open space Flies and mosqedos
- David (9/5): Superb - The breakfast in the morning was very good all fresh products. Host very welcoming, had an issue with the door lock which was sorted straight away.
- Sudharshan (9/5): Good farm stay which is away from all the action in Amsterdam - Breakfast was awesome. Location is a bit far but you get what you pay for. If you are looking to get to the city center in a hurry this is not the place. Mosquitoes and cow dung smell.
- Monty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional - What a wonderful experience... Highly recommended
- Johannes (10/5): Exceptional - The cozy Waggon is really cozy. Henk and Ineke are flexible and nice and we felt very welcome. The wagons are directly besides the cow stables, so that one can hear and see them.
- Volker (10/5): Comfortable, cozy and cows - The showers were so warm and clean.
The breakfast was so wholesome and organic. It was amazing to have access to the bikes with an easy cycle taking you into the city centre. There were quite a few flies due to the cows but there were fly nets on the wagon door and windows which helped prevent some getting into the wagon.
- Jordan (10/5): Great stay 😁 - - Animals around were lovely and made it a great experience, very friendly cat.
- The countryside was stunning and made it a lovely walk/cycle to and from the accommodation.
- Incredibly generous breakfasts.
- Bathrooms were very clean and great number of them.
- Great kitchen equipment provided as part of the room. - Could have had a bit more soundproofing in rooms as the animals did wake us up sometimes.
- Carol (10/5): Wonderful little place away from the hubbub of the city but close at the same time - We loved the close proximity to Amsterdam but without the noise and hubbub. The wagons are adorable and cozy and the shared facilities are clean, well stocked and all that you need. We loved seeing the cows and countryside. This is a working dairy farm and since we live on a farm ourselves, it was a nice treat to see how it worked. Henk was great at communication, and Ineke was a lovely hostess. The breakfast she brought us was wonderful and literally "fresh off the farm."
We will stay here again if we ever come back to Amsterdam. The smell and the mosquitoes.
- Natarsha (9/5): Superb - Breakfast prepared with love! Owners were quiet and sweet, who were there if we needed them but gave us our space.
We grew up on a farm, so we loved the cows who, thanks to the automated milking systems, were happy to come and go at their leisure!
We also love exercise & exploring, so we enjoyed the 2 hour stroll into town each day. The sunset from our outdoor setting was beautiful.
We would absolutely stay here again! Thank you!!
- Zan (10/5): Best place in Amsterdam - The place is amazing, owner is awesome really helpful. i like everything
- Annika (10/5): This accommodation is a perfect find for travelers who like to be close to Amsterdam, yet in the countryside. - I loved the animals (lambs and cats on our terrace), the fresh breakfast, and the views.
- Fraser (9/5): The breakfast, wagon, and locations were beautiful and amazing! - The wagon we stayed in was beautiful and very cozy. The property was beautiful, and we loved seeing the farm cat every day! The breakfast was phenomenal and surpassed any expectations we had! The fresh milk, eggs, and yogurts were amazing! It is just far enough outside Amsterdam you can see the stars and get fresh air but it was only a 40 minutes bike ride into the city center. The bikes they had were rusty, and a couple of the bikes kept getting flat tires. They could have been better, but they got us where we needed to be. The heating in the wagon was on a 20-minute timer, so at night, when we went to sleep, it got cold while we could keep turning on the heat; they have extra warm blankets, though so we were okay.
- Chetana (5/5): Good hosts. Was comfortable however not for a family especially if you have never lived on a farm. - Good breakfast. Hosts accommodated the request for an early breakfast. Location- next to big cow shed. Cows mooing at night and the stench is unbearable if you are not used to staying in farm.
Only way to reach is via Uber which were unreliable at times especially when arriving late night from station.
- Viorel (9/5): Superb -
- Aleix (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (8/5): Very good -
- Wookegg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Walter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Václav (9/5): Superb - tasty breakfast, great place to stay for a few days, love it bikes could be better
- Magdaléna (10/5): The breakfast was absolutely amazing and delicious!❤️ Ineke was an awesome host. -
