- chatsarun (3/5): not worth to pay over $230 plus a night !!! paid expensive, feeling was lije motel8 - location is ok but so noisy !!! super noisy.. no parking ... smell bad, old old ... no fridge.. small bathroom... shower is old and bad .. we stayed at King honeymoon suite... not cheap .. paid luxury , got motel8
- Bruno (10/5): - Localização, vista e atendimento
- Suzanne (7/5): - Good location Water went out during visit, bed made noise any time you moved
- Amy (10/5): Wonderful Experience - Hotel is very quaint. Location is stellar, staff is wonderful, balcony MADE our stay! The beds are very comfortable, rooms are clean. The fact that it is a smaller hotel also was lovely!
- Seward (10/5): Great experience! - Wonderful location and staff. Old world charm.
- Deborah (8/5): It was pleasant. The cleaning lady really helped me out because of a fall. Staff terrific. - I liked the location of the room and the lobby. no refrigerator in the room and not enough plugs for phones, etc.
- helen (10/5): -
- Layne (7/5): - Very cute historic hotel with a lot of charm. We absolutely loved the balcony and the room accommodations were very comfortable! The reviews don’t lie, it is very loud! There was a train that continued through the night, a concert in the park across the street, and we could hear the guests in the room next-door snoring. If that’s a deal breaker for you, don’t stay here!
- Tara (3/5): Great location horribly dated - Location is great Very dated, smells and overall in severe need of renovation.
- Kim (9/5): Winter Park is a great town and the Plaza located near shops and great restaurants. We ate at the Prato twice and loved - Excellent location! The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. This is a historical hotel, with great charm. You will hear the train and the walls are thin, but our stay was comfortable. The AC worked well, and next time we will get a balcony room.
- Terry (6/5): - Location is the only reason to stay. Unfortunately the property has not been updated. Also no breakfast.
- fawcett (2/5): Disappointed - There is Vintage charm and there's old and run down, sadly this hotel is the latter. Have stayed in several vintage turn of the century hotels, and this one is in sad shape.
Be warned the hotel has no parking lot and there is no overnight street parking. We are not TV people, but the computer screen size will be a shock for ones that do.
Also check the Google maps to see that hotel is a block from a very active train tracks, lots of trains...
- Janet (10/5): Great overnight stay - The location of this hotel is perfect. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. The room was unique, clean, and comfortable. We will definitely return and will try to book one of their balcony rooms! Nothing
- Sapp (9/5): I loved the hotel, the location and the lovely balcony, and ability to get food delivered from next - Everything was great, except you could not see the Tv from the bed. We were in room 204. I enjoy watching TV from my bed at night. as above
- Andy (9/5): -
- Mathias (10/5): -
- Beth (8/5): Excellent location - Location, location, location!! Because of the Booking.com description of the room, I was under the impression that our deluxe queen would have a balcony. That room type does not. I was disappointed.
- Antonio (8/5): -
- Ellen (9/5): -
- Lisa (1/5): Great location but property is neglected and needs work - Balcony was honestly only aspect we liked. The room and shower were not clean and were very dated. Sink in bathroom clogged after brushing teeth and housekeeping staff didn't even notice! Air conditioner threw small black pieces of dirt all over the bed- not good furnishing and cleanliness
- Marissa (5/5): - Location was excellent— you can’t find a closer place to Park Ave and all the restaurants/bars. Bedding had multiple stains on it which was very off-putting. Walls are also super thin making it hard to have privacy.
- Donna (10/5): - Beautiful historic small and cozy hotel in a great area accessible to everything in Winter Park. Everything was wonderful.
- Heidys (8/5): - Location is unbeaten. You are staying walking distance of must attractions, stores and restaurant. The noise didn't bother us, but it might bother some people. Hotel rooms are above noisy restaurant. You are provided earplugs.
- Derya (10/5): -
- Elyse (1/5): - Musty creepy old Victorian era hotel god awful I left after checkin. So sad as I honeymooned here 25 years ago now it seems more like a brothel. Staff at front desk completely unprofessional looking more like a bouncer. Terrible
- Bengala (10/5): -
- Brenda (3/5): Great location, nice staff, but beyond outdated rooms, dirty, musty, with uncomfortable old spring mattresses. Everythin - Location and staff Beyond outdated, not charming. Dirty carpets, dirty sheets, ancient spring mattresses. Sheets smelled musty and like urine. Dust everywhere. Layers of cobwebs on bathroom “skylight”, tiny old television, lumpy old pillows.
- Anthony (10/5): At the Heart of Winter Park! - It's impossible to beat the location of this hotel. And the balcony is awesome. This is a historic hotel, so if you are expecting all the modern conveniences this isn't it. But if you want history, lots to do within a short walk, and a hotel that's a quaint, this is it. Already looking forward to going back some day! The bed was a tad squeaky, but comfortable. Otherwise, this hotel was perfect and my girlfriend adored the place ... so bit win for me picking out the Park Plaza!
- Deirdre (8/5): -
- Christi (10/5): the staff couldn't do enough for you and the rooms were comfy - balcony was beautiful and view was great! location was perfect to down town I am not really into historic hotels as I would prefer a modern room
- Kirk (10/5): Great old hotel in downtown Winter Park - Great location in town. Walking distance to Tiffany museum and great restaurants.
Vintage hotel with nice balcony for morning coffee and people watching. Everything was wonderful.
Right on street so there was some traffic and train noise but nothing too loud.
- Taisha (5/5): -
- Dan (9/5): -
- Jefferson (8/5): Not as enjoyable as last time - Was not aware of $30.00 valet charge. Room was warm unless you were directly under fan
- Henrietta (6/5): Nice staff but we had a very depressing room! - Breakfast was at the restaurant next door. It was quite good. The room was tiny and depressing. There was no coffee maker, let alone hair dryer, refrigerator etc. If we had been given one of the less depressing rooms ( which we passed at check up as they were being cleaned), we might have not cared about the lack amenities because of charm. The staff was very lovely. However, I was asked if I would mind a room with 2 beds rather than a king. They didn’t say it was one twin and one double - not even a queen and that there would not even be a chair in the room because it was so small.
- John (6/5): -
- Sebastian (9/5): -
- Pablo (10/5): Very relaxing stay - Very old Hotel with a lot of history
- Pheneger (7/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): General manager and whole team was very welcoming ! -
- Ruth (9/5): -
- chrystal (7/5): - Location on main street Paper thin walls
- Azam (5/5): Very disappointed - The location and staff are exceptional. With the exception of the bathroom and bedding it was very dirty-as in neglected.
The first thing I noticed when I arrived was the dirty carpet smell and appearance. There were dust bunnies all over (corners, behind bed frame, along all baseboards etc.).
Mold growing on pvc leading to the AC unit.
The furniture was delightfully old but sadly chipped and in need of polish or paint.
Honestly, it was the condition in which I would have expected a budget hotel in a marginal neighborhood.
- Dharma (10/5): -
- Taisha (5/5): Vacation - The location is amazing. You can’t beat it and we had a room with a balcony. They have Valet but we attended a conference and had to leave at 6:30 am. We were told we had to get our own car. They charge you 28 dollars a day. We walked 3 blocks to get it.
The rooms are small like bed and breakfast type. The bathroom is really small. With no mirrors bad lighting. It’s not totally bad but just not for us. If you’re looking for location then this is the place.
- JOHN (8/5): Great pick in a wonderful town - You have to appreciate historical buildings and the story behind them. Then you can appreciate how the owners have managed to make the place very comfortable. This started as a RR hotel housing workers and the owners father did an exceptional job of turning it into a novel hotel experience. Rooms are small but adequate as is the bathroom. The old folding gate elevator is a classic as are the porches. We can Highly recommend the experience.
Town is also great, restaurants, shops, park with entertainment is a winner. Very little. The morning trains can wake a light sleeper - If so don’t pick a park view room but the street view.
- Charles (9/5): -
- Anastasia (10/5): Would be happy to return - Quirky historic hotel, location was perfect Would be nice to have a breakfast available
- Caribbean (7/5): -
- shirlee (8/5): I love this place but it’s like ice cream, the flavor is not for every one - It’s like stepping back in time but some easy amenities are missing especially coffee machines in your room!!
- Barry (2/5): Terrible noise both outside and inside - Location So noisy could not sleep
- Daniel (8/5): Great location in the heart of Winter Park. - Superb location, in the heart of Winter Park and close to all the restaurants, bars and shops of the historic part of the town. Noisy. The train station is close by, train horns, whistles, etc as late as 1am.
- Casiano (9/5): -
- Jan (9/5): - Great location, very nice old hotel Tub didn’t drain
- James (10/5): - Great Old Hotel, love the history
Location fantastic
- Myra (6/5): Pleasant - The location is wonderful! Liked the lobby. The bathroom needs cleaned better and updated. Mold in the shower. No bathmat. Low lighting in the bathroom.
- hsgworld (9/5): - Perfect location. Classic charm. Bathroom a bit dated but functional
- Kurz (8/5): -
- Valerianna (10/5): -
- Figs (10/5): -
- Suzanne (6/5): Great location. - Very unique property. Very old with antique furniture. Fantastic location. I did miss modern conveniences, didn’t like the tiny bathroom without countertop. Bed wasn’t comfortable. Room was dark/musty.
- Stacy (9/5): - Location, charm, balconies! Noise from.other rooms but totally okay given the age of the building. Added to the charm.
- lisa (10/5): Wonderful staff and beautiful hotel. - Great location. Walking distance to amazing restaurant, park, farmer market and shops. The train is a little loud but earplugs and noice machine is available.
- Sue (7/5): good - paid at check in for valet parking, never used, as there was plenty of street parking next to hotel, and their parking was no more secure. would have liked refund for unused service.
- Jack (7/5): It is difficult to rate this hotel - It is very difficult to rate this hotel. It has many pluses but also some hard to accept things. We loved the location, walking distance to all attractions. Hotel lobby is very nice. Bedroom was OK. Air-conditioning worked really well and was quiet. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the bathroom was outdated, rusty with tiles that were painted over, and paint was peeling off. The shower curtain was old and stained. Bathroom needs remodeling.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The people are kind. This is my second stay. They carried my suitcase, brought us ice, and called us when we left something. They had fresh filtered water and coffee available. Just a perfect place! Sitting on the balcony overlooking the park , catching up, was priceless! Just pricey, I would have loved to stay longer, but Winter Park is expensive.
- Manuel (10/5): - location was excellent to walk could have been a bit cleaner lots of dust under furniture
- Shulman (9/5): -
- Ben (8/5): - Unique, historic, nostalgic, well located property
- Herbert (7/5): Very enjoyable stay for several days in a historic hotel within walking distance of major attraction - Best location of any hotel. Covered balcony with comfortable chairs and attractive foliage. Historic hotel. Provided valet parking in area difficult to find parking. Within walking distance of major art museums and numerous restaurants. Had small rooms and bathroom as expected for an historic hotel.
- Daniel (9/5): Central Location with History and Charm without loosing Comfort - Room was Magical the ideal setting to our Winter Park Experience. We love the old school charm without sacrficing comfort and enjoy how easy it was to move around Winter Park from the Hotel. Bed was very comfortable and the Balcony views was very Relaxing. No Complaints
- Melane (1/5): They kicked me out a day early - The location, although the sound from the train was very loud I was granted approval to check in early at 1am on the 23rd and my check out was supposed to be the 29th but they kicked me out on the 28th even though I had a confirmed reservation with approval for early check in.
- Yanet (10/5): -
- Murilo (1/5): - Nothing.
They canceled my reservation for lacking hot water in the hotel
I need my money back urgently
- Lisi (6/5): It worked for one night but we wouldn't stay longer. - Great location, charming atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff. The bed was uncomfortable, the plumbing needed to be cleaned out for better drainage in the sink and toilet. It was not that clean.
- Ruth (10/5): -
- Wilson (7/5): Nice but... - Location was wonderful As many other reviewers mentioned. This property while old as a selling point it is also quite dated. Old lights, bathroom is tiny...1 person at a time, tiny. Bed soso. Dirty and cluttered balcony, would not stay again..could be so much better with some minor updates.
- Trisha (8/5): I would definitely stay here again! - I really loved the history and the location. After checking in we walked around all the shops before going to dinner at Corner Chophouse. Everything was within walking distance and we could street park for free.
The room was super cute! The bed was comfortable and we even sat out on the balcony after we returned from dinner. Also, try the elevator at least once!
When checking in we were given a brief history of the hotel and a list of names of who stayed there which was very fun. There is a train really close but I knew about it so it didn’t really bother me.
- Cynthia (8/5): -
- Victoria (10/5): It was overall 10 - Very nice place, everything
- Solana (9/5): -
- Carlos (10/5): - Location N/A
- Lydia (7/5): - The charm The noise from train.
- Traveling Squad (10/5): - The charm, the appeal. The location. The gentleman helping with our luggage was really nice and friendly
- Wigington (10/5): Like walking back in time (in a good way). - We were happily surprised by the "vibe" in this hotel. It's very "antique" AND "boutique", but everything was in good working order and ambience was amazing. We loved being right there in downtown Winter Park...walking distance to restaurants, bars and shops. The balcony was a great place to people watch and have a hot cup of coffee in the AM. No refrigerator or ice machine.
- Katty (8/5): A unique hotel amongst all the cookie cutter hotels - The look and feel of this hotel is beautiful and takes you back in time. The location could not be better if you want to stroll the shops. The bathrooms could use a make over.
- Sumi (7/5): Great staff lovely stay right in main street! - Train is right next store expect a surprise at 1:30 am The shower was either all cold or very hot like 120F no in-between. The staff was very nice and apologetic about it. Very old historical hotel so it's got its old charm you need to be able to put up with. Great location very beautiful inside. different lll
- Christy (8/5): Very good - The hotel was very charming and in a great location that was walkable to a lot of things! My toilet wasn't flushing properly which made me uncomfortable to do my business.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - You have to accept the fact that it's a hotel that's over a century old, and that's its charm. It almost feels like you're in another country. And, yes, the bathrooms are small, and the walls are thin. But my favorite place to be in Winter Park is on the balcony off the Park Plaza rooms overlooking Park Avenue. The location and feel of the place simply can't be beat.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nancy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ponce (5/5): Passable - Location Price,loud noise
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Great Location, beautiful view. The staff was very welcoming .
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Great location , atmosphere. The staff was friendly and our view was great . Very relaxing loved it . Will definitely come back .
