Guest Reviews
- Peter (6/5): Great location just a few things in unit needed to match the surrounding area - The proximity to Chiswick the transport and food option ,it was a really good town and very clean The only option to sit anywhere was the bed,the blind on the window was not a good fit (smaller then frame) so unable to keep sunlight out for a good sleep especially with early sunrises and late sunset
- Kamil (1/5): Bad - During my stay in London, I booked this accommodation, but I must say that the money I paid was completely wasted.
According to the information provided before my arrival, check-in was supposed to be available from 3:00 PM. However, when I arrived at the property, I was told that the room wasn’t ready and I had to wait a few more hours. I finally entered the room around 6:00 PM, and to my surprise, it was still dirty.
What’s even more frustrating is that the host charges a cleaning fee, which is absolutely unjustified in this case. The room was clearly not prepared for a guest, and its condition was unacceptable.
The photos in the listing do not reflect the actual state of the room. The cupboards were dirty — I didn’t feel comfortable placing my clothes inside. The bedding was also dirty and seemed unchanged from the previous guest. Additionally, the room constantly smelled of cigarette smoke, which was present throughout my stay and very unpleasant.
The window in the room was broken — I couldn’t close it upon arrival. After reporting the issue, someone came and closed it, but after that, I was unable to open it again, because I knew it wouldn’t close properly anymore. I was not informed in advance about this problem, even though it was obvious that the host was aware of it beforehand.
The furniture was old and worn-out. An old mattress was just lying on top of one of the cabinets. The walls were dirty and damaged. The listing mentioned a kitchenette — while one was present, the dishes were incomplete, and the glasses in the cupboard were dirty.
Finally, the paint in both the room and the bathroom was peeling, and in some areas, there were black stains that looked like mold — not only unsightly but also potentially hazardous to health.
In my opinion, I wasted money staying in this place. It was an extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional experience. I believe a partial refund would be completely justified and I expect a response from the host.
- Lærke (5/5): Passable - Cozy place where you could relax at the end of a long day. We experienced almost constant noise from the nearby station where trains were passing very often. Bring ear plugs!
Before arrival, I asked the host about a couple of problems that had been mentioned by former guests (nails sticking out in the kitchen and an uneven bed). The host told me that these had been fixed, but it turned out on arrival that the issues were still there. I commented on this but never received a reply.
- Berta (8/5): Very good -
- Tom (8/5): Excellent and good value - close to everything and very easy to get around! - Excellent location in Bedford Park in the heart of Chiswick - 2 mins from Turnham Green Tube and 2 mins from the High Road. Quiet and safe neighbourhood and the neighbours were friendly. I stayed at the back of the property and its very close to the railway line (tube). Fortunately this was not a problem for me but it could be for some!
- Divyansh (10/5): Exceptional - The location was really good. The room was clean and had enough space. The kitchen area and bathroom are inconvenient. The bathroom is really small and not comfortable. No place to actually sit and dine in the room.
- John (5/5): Passable -
- Laura (1/5): While the location was excellent, I would not recommend this property - The property boasted an outstanding location, strategically positioned in close proximity to both a train station and various shops, making it incredibly convenient for guests. While my stay at this property had its challenges, I believe there's room for improvement. The mattress, unfortunately, lacked the support needed for a comfortable night's sleep, leading to significant back pain. The mismatched size of the mattress and base also limited the sleeping area.
The pillows resembled pancakes more than pillows, and the wifi was frustratingly sluggish. The unique design of the kitchen made dishwashing a bit of a juggling act, thanks to the angled roof. Cooking posed another challenge, as the absence of an exhaust fan allowed black mold to thrive on the ceiling. Furthermore, the fridge had broken shelves, and unfortunately, it seemed more inclined to freeze items rather than properly refrigerate them.
The bathroom, inconveniently located across the hallway, proved to be unusually small, with a shower offering only two extreme temperatures—icy cold or scalding hot. Regrettably, a persistent odor of urine permeated the bathroom, bedroom, and hallway throughout the entire two-week stay.
While my experience wasn't ideal, I hope these points can be addressed for the benefit of future guests.
- Alexandra (10/5): The accommodation was clean, close to the train station and a serene neighbourhood. - Everything. Nothing.
- Alex (7/5): Our stay was very good, and we were happy with our visit. We only had a few issues during our stay and they were all sol - Very nice room, very close to underground and bus stops. Good location with shops and restaurants close by. The room was quite clean and fresh. The wifi was down for about 24 hours, and when it returned it didn’t work very well, but after contacting the host the issue was somewhat resolved quickly which we were thankful for.
The bathroom was clean but the shower had issues with temperature, and would either be ice cold or scalding hot, with no in between.
The main door to the street was very rarely locked, which was worrying.
The TV only worked with netflix.
- Bjarne (8/5): Comfortable studio - The location was perfect as it was near to an underground station. The room is comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small and the shower is often really hot or really cold and not really controllable.
- Tashiek (6/5): Pleasant -
