- Louise (7/5): Home from home and would definitely stay again. - Bed was comfy with nice bedding, it was clean and very quiet, the kitchen was spacious & had pretty much everything you’d need including large fridge/freezer & other appliances; it felt safe in the apartment & walking to the shops/transport; lovely little balcony space overlooking a free space & trees, & it’s not directly overlooked by other close properties. It was a lovely London residential area with little green spaces, squirrels, birds (a very friendly robin) & a community orchard space. Not on a main road - which is why I chose it & only 15/20 mins walk from the tube & Bermondsey where my meetings were. I really enjoyed my stay. It was very very hot for me (I turned off a radiator & turned the thermostat right down which helped slightly, & opened doors/windows before bed), I couldn’t connect to the WiFi, and there were no helpful written instructions on how to do stuff. The key was hard to get into the lock - might just need some WD-40. I messaged about a well-used spatula that broke & didn’t receive a response. There was nowhere to hang clothes - but didn’t affect me personally. These are very minor things for me on this trip. If I’d stayed longer, I would have liked Wi-Fi & hanging facilities for my clothes.
- Edward (1/5): Bad - Absolutely nothing - do not book this accommodation. This was the message we sent the owner about how we felt. We were offered a partial refund which never materialised. Owner spoke to us over message and then never replied when we asked to take them up on offer of refund. We like to be fair and so offered the owner the chance to make things right before writing a negative review.
We were there 20 minutes and left meaning we had to again for a hotel.
Below is our message to them which summed up the property.
Respectfully, whilst ‘light and airy’ as advertised, the apartment lacks basic facilities, the cleanliness is substandard, and every corner could do with some finishing touches. In the bathroom, there was no shower curtain, no bath mat, not even a bar of soap. The kitchen had been sloshed with paint, and the tea towel was bleach stained. The hoovering had clearly been done very lightly, there were bits all over the carpet in the main room.
It’s just not to a standard where you can charge £100 a night, especially not in that area. I can see now that you’ve only had one review, so if it’s a new property to the market, there are some very minor changes that you could do to bring it up to a standard that would warrant that price.
Your photos are very flattering, but unfortunately it was a disappointing reality, so we did not feel comfortable staying. I have taken some photos if you’d like me to show you the points mentioned above.
