Guest Reviews
- Peter (9/5): Quiet peaceful weeks stay. Would highly recommend. - Lyn was a great host who was discreet but was available if I needed anything. The view from the property was amazing looking out to the ocean, and the location was very quiet and peaceful. Nothing.
- Couple (10/5): Top Spot - My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in the garden studio.
This property is situated in the most gorgeous location.
High in the hills above Coffs Harbour the view to the ocean and surrounds is spectacular.
Comfortable and clean with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay.
The owner, Lyn, was very friendly and accommodating and we appreciate her sharing this little bit of paradise with us. No dislikes
- John (10/5): Come for the view - The View alone made the trip worthwhile, but the room was good with all we needed and Lin the owner was very helpful and keen for us to have a good visit.
Nice walks nearby- especially near the Korora lookout.
Sunrise was worth getting up for All good

- Katerina (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - Beautiful location with stunning views. Very clean and spacious. The host Lin was really lovely and more than welcoming and very accomodating. A hidden gem in amongst the national park. Highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed. Best place to stay in Coffs! We only wish we could have stayed longer, though we had to keep going down the coast. We will be back!
- Wendy (7/5): I had a wonderful stay, the host was delightful and I would highly recommend it. - The view was spectacular. A little isolated

- Robert (10/5): Wonderful stay. - The tranquility and peacefulness of the area was very relaxing and much needed. The surrounding views were just wonderful to see and take in. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The small touches [tea, coffee, biscuits, milk, water] were greatly appreciated on arrival as was the helpfulness and warm welcome we received from Lin, the host. Highly recommend On Top of the World to anyone visiting Coffs Harbour. N/A

- CINDY (10/5): Fantastic location and incredible views. - The view from the location is outstanding. The room was clean and comfortable and the host lovely.
- Almaro (10/5): -
- Abarim (10/5): Easily one of the best views you could wake up to. - Five stars. A truly exceptional stay.
An unforgettable location with breathtaking ocean views, surrounded by pristine national park. The accommodation is immaculate, beautifully designed and instantly calming. Lin is a wonderful host - warm, attentive, and thoughtful - making the entire experience seamless from start to finish. We arrived tired and left completely rejuvenated. This is more than a stay its a sanctuary. Highly recommend one of the most memorable stays we've had and cannot wait to return.
- Simon (10/5): - Clean and tidy.
The view is fantastic!
- COLIN (8/5): Fantastic outlook - Great Host and there were lots of extras.
- Jocelyn (9/5): Enjoyed spectacular views in a quiet, private setting. - We loved the spectacular view, the gorgeous sunrise and the quiet and privacy. The studio is spacious and well equipped. We appreciated the treats provided and the warm hospitality of the host. We also enjoyed a cool early morning walk in the State Forest.
- Jody (10/5): -
- Steven (10/5): - Million dollar view. Close to Forest Skyview Pier. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
- Tiffany (8/5): Mesmerizing views - This stay truly lives up to its name, making you feel utterly "on top of the world." The mesmerizing views over the cove are the absolute highlight—watching the spectacular sunrises and peaceful ocean currents from this unique sanctuary was utterly captivating and the kind of peace we would love to wake up to every day. The accommodation itself is cosy, inviting, and truly feels like a comforting visit to Nana's house, thanks entirely to Lin, who is a fabulous host and clearly loves to spoil her guests. We whole-heartedly appreciated her warm, inviting nature, and deeply valued the commitment to sustainable living (solar, gas, rainwater) and the immersive connection to nature. With its unparalleled atmosphere, this beautiful property holds incredible potential to become a luxury retreat. To elevate the guest experience further, Id suggest focusing on a few thoughtful enhancements: improving the entrance/driveway for easier access, upgrading key furnishings (especially the bed) and adding simple comfort features like portable fans for warmer months. The inclusion of a dedicated fire pit area or small laundry facilities would significantly boost its value as a self-sufficient, high-end destination. These updates would easily cement its status as a highly sought-after getaway.
- Wesley (8/5): - Great location, beautiful views, nice host and a really great space for 2 people. A really comfy, homely space and setting. No mention of Eco friendly property prior to arrival or booking, we were told on site. While it didn't particularly impact our stay, I would be pretty disappointed paying full price and not being able to utilise power. Having face cloths would be amazing. The space can get really hot, there's a ceiling fan and a standing fan.....an aircon option could be really beneficial.
- Darcy (10/5): -
- Vlado (8/5): - Amazing view
- Rose (8/5): -
- Bischoff (10/5): So good that I wouldn’t go out, just enjoy the place - Everything was perfect, amazing view and very friendly host Not staying more
- Anthony (5/5): Seriously over priced for what you receive - The view from the mountain, clean on the inside I don’t normally complain about a property BUT upon arrival Lin greeted us the explained about being energy efficient due to being off grid, do not use the oven & the water even though it is yellow it’s drinkable. The lights in the bedroom area didn’t work at all & 1 lounge room light didn’t work. The bed needs to be replaced as it is very old & tired & is incredibly uncomfortable to sleep in or sit on due to the base springs being shot. The unit was so incredibly cold due to no floor mats & no heating available at the unit. We ended up buying a small heater. And the only light in the bathroom is a bedside light on top of the cabinet. The toaster has rust on it & is heath issue. After 1 visit from Lin, the homeowner, & 3 phone call about using power we were asked at 4.30pm to turn off all power for an hour, this I refused to do as sitting in the dark & freezing was not an option. The property gardens haven’t been touched in ages and the outside needs a damn good clean. The driveway is shocking too. I’d have to say this is one of the worst places I have stayed in and would never go back or recommend to anyone
- Nichola (10/5): Amazing views and a great host - Host extremely friendly and informative
Views are amazing, we saw the sun rise and it was spectacular
Kitchen well equipt and altogether a great stay
Thank you N/A

- Marian (10/5): A true gem - Everything about this place is amazing, starting from Lin, the owner, who made us feel like we are so welcome, that it was hard to leave. The location of this spot is absolutely breathless, you just have to see the sunrise. The apartment is spacious,well-equipped, comfortable, and you can see the owner cared for every single detail. If you hesitate whether to choose it, just stop. A true refuge, when one can think, recharge, and connect with nature. Worth the climb for a number of reasons. Everyone may discover theirs. We felt sorry that we only stayed one night, as we were in transit.
- Suzanne (10/5): A truly stunning location and warm welcome. - We received a warm welcome from
Lin and immediately fell in love with the views from the property. The facilities were excellent and the location is outstanding.
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome views, nice relaxing place to stay.
- Coulton (8/5): Spectacular View from a well presented property. - The view was stunning and better than watching TV! We were asked not to use the oven on our first night- the property is off the grid and uses solar power - this request was due to adverse weather and unavoidable and so was not a major concern as we were able to use everything else.
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (10/5): Stunning - Stunning Location and Views.
Well worth the the Drive, not far from Town Centre.
Accommodation couldn’t ask for any more, very clean and comfortable
Morning Sun Rise was Amazing
Host Lin, went out of her way to make sure everything was as we wanted.
Definitely Highly Recommended and we'll be returning.
- Dirk (10/5): Came for the amazing views; returned with lasting memories - The views of Coffs Harbour are of course spectacular but they are only part of the experience of staying at the property. The Garden Studio is fully self-contained and spacious at around 60 square metres. It's positioned on the ground floor of a 3 level structure that encompasses 720(!) square metres of living space. The entire dwelling is somewhat minimalist in design and I found myself admiring the vision of the owners in choosing to construct such a grand property on a steep hillside amongst the trees. Upon arrival, the owner and host (Lin) gave us a tour of the accommodation and mentioned the property is entirely off-grid. To build such a sizeable dwelling and design it with sustainability in mind commands my respect. Perhaps that sustainability is compensation for bringing so much concrete into the natural habitat! Jokes aside, being mindful of water and energy use did not detract in the slightest from our enjoyment of our time in the Garden Studio.
Access to the property is via a steep driveway, but there is room to turn around at the top to avoid the need to reverse down upon leaving. The property is secluded, but certainly not remote. Shops and restaurants are just 20 minutes away. We chose to dine out for dinner and the return to the property in the dark was easily navigated.
The Garden Studio itself is tastefully decorated and in keeping with the overall design aesthetic of the property. By that I mean it's not a newly renovated space for the purposes of rental accommodation. Time spent indoors was very pleasant and a comfortable bed ensured a restful night's sleep which was most welcome given our early mornings waking up to admire the beautiful sunrises.
We look forward to staying again at this uniquely authentic getaway, and many thanks to our host for sharing the opportunity to experience her vision!
- John (7/5): Good - Unfortunately it was raining all day Sat and house was damp. We were told to go easy on power and NOT use the oven. Great views on Sunday morning
- John (4/5): Disappointing - Yes, as other reviews have said, it's an exceptional view. However, the accommodation is not quite up to standard with a lot of spiders and webs on ceiling corners and a mouldy shower.
- Toni (10/5): Perfect location and property, would definitely stay again. - Perfect size for 2 people. Fabulous views from every window and door. Peaceful location. Very clean and comfortable. The only thing missing was an iron and ironing board.
- Laura (9/5): Beautiful stay in the hills above Coffs Harbour. The views exceeded our expectations and the bed was extremely comfortab - The location is reached by a beautiful drive through the hills, leading to the most incredible view over Coffs Harbour.
We were met by our host who was extremely kind and informative, explaining the area and the history of the property. The sunrise was worth getting up early for 😃 Check out was a little early. 10am would be better.
- Myles (9/5): Top of the world views are understated. - Fabulous views probably the best on Coffs Coast. Comfortable bed, great facilities.
Congenial host.
We had overnight stay on road trip from Central Coast back to Brisbane so was a good stopping point. I didn't mind the trip up the mountain but my female partner found it a bit scary .
The road is narrow but tar sealed all the way.
It's a fair way back down to town , so plan you dinner , lunch etc before you go up the mountain to stay.
There is microwave so best bet is to get takeaway Thai or something you like from downtown and reheat in microwave when you get back up to accomodation.
Otherwise excellent accomodation.
- Eyz (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (7/5): Stunning property and the view to die for. Host was lovely. Had a lovely experience thanks 🤩 - Host Lyn was excellent with communication and lovely to deal with. Thank you 🙏 Bed and pillow was a tad too soft.
- Doreen (10/5): will stay again close to coffs and all the restaurants - Our host was exceptional when we arrive giving us all the information needed to settle in. The property is magnificent. Decor with a bit of French in it. East views of the ocean making it amazing when you see the sunset and sunrise. Definitely would recommend staying. na
- Jenica (9/5): Great stay overall, but the cicadas can be quite loud in December during their season. - Positive stay with good views and excellent hospitality.
Lin was an excellent host and the view at the top of the mountain is magnificent. The cicadas can be quite loud.
- Dan (8/5): Very good - Exceptional location away from the hustle and
- Laura (10/5): Stunning views in Korora - Stunning location with everything you need. Lovely quiet location for a couples getaway. Lin is a lovely and accommodating host.
- Lyiona (9/5): Cosy. - The view and location, moments away from fantastic hiking spots. We had a beautiful host! It was a bit difficult to find. The moutaim was also a bit hard to navigate.
