• Sandrine (10/5): - Logement idéalement placé. Lignes de bus, supérettes, restaurants, pizzerias, snacks, glaciers situés dans la même rue. Tout peut se faire à pied également. Balade nocturne place st pierre chaque soir. Logement bien équipé et Paolo, notre sympathique hôte, disponible à tout moment si besoin.

• Isabel (10/5): Perfecta para una escapada a Roma - Un lugar perfecto para alojarse. Con restaurantes, tiendas y cafeterías en la misma calle. A un paso del Vaticano. Y a un paseo del centro. Hay parada de taxi Justo enfrente de la casa y paradas de autobuses en la avenida principal. Una casa muy cómoda, y acogedora. Hemos ido con nuestras madres de 80 años y han estado fenomenal. Paolo estuvo atento desde el primer momento y eso se valora muchísimo. Desde luego si volviera a la ciudad, elegiría este alojamiento sin pensarlo.

• Mary (10/5): Highly recommend - Loved it! Paolo was very courteous and met us at the apartment to welcome us personally. During the tour, he gave us some history about the apartment and the artwork. He made us feel like family. The apartment was large, clean, and comfortable. Paolo was kind enough to let us store our luggage for a few hours after check out since our flight was later that evening. We were able to see a few more things before leaving without having to carry our luggage around with us. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The one thing I wish the apartment had was a clothes dryer. Otherwise, everything was perfect! I would still recommend staying here.

E' una classica casa romana, con 3 camere da letto ampie e spaziose, cucina, un'area esterna con un albero di limoni e un comodissimo bagno. Due camere affacciano a via delle fornaci a due passi (veramente due passi!) da S. Pietro. Dall'altra camera c'è una bellissima vista sulla cupola della basilica. La casa è curata e pulitissima. Il proprietario è molto gentile e super disponibile. Super consigliata sotto ogni punto di vista!

• Martyna (10/5): Perfect location for busy holidays. - Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The apartment was very spacious, and the kitchen was perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The fresh lemon for our tea, kindly offered by the lovely owner, was such a thoughtful touch. The location couldn’t be better – just a short walk from the Vatican, which allowed us to easily reach the audience without dealing with crowds or traffic. Public transport connections were excellent and very close to the apartment, so we never wasted time getting around. There are plenty of taxis and restaurants nearby, giving us lots of options. The neighborhood is quiet and clean, especially compared to the area around Rome Termini. We felt completely safe at all times, even after 10 p.m. The owner is an amazing person who took the time to tell us about the apartment and its history. Later, he was always available and ready to help whenever we needed anything. We will definitely come back again – this place will always be on our list! There was nothing to dislike about this place.

He then was very thorough about explaining what we needed to know about the apartment and even gave us a fantastic recommendation for a restaurant. It was so good we went there twice! We were traveling with multiple families and I would just be aware that there is only one bathroom. We had a great time!

• Javier jose (10/5): Lugar maravilloso con todo lo necesario - Es un sitio precioso, en un lugar privilegiado al lado de la Plaza De San Pedro. Está perfectamente conectado, al lado hay parada de autobús, tren de cercanías, zona de buenos restaurantes, heladerías, tiendas, etc… Pero sin duda lo mejor es el apartamento, tiene de todo, es bonito, amplio y poder tomar algo en el patio, en un lugar tan céntrico, es un lujo. Mil gracias a Paolo, el anfitrión, que se portó de una manera espectacular, nos puso todas las facilidades posibles, en todo momento pendiente de nuestro bienestar, y es una persona encantadora. Le recomendaría a todo el que vaya a Roma este maravilloso lugar donde quedarse, si volvemos a Roma no dudaremos en repetir.

• Hervé (10/5): Excellent séjour à deux pas de la place Saint Pierre - Nous avons été accueillis par Paolo, le propriétaire, qui est quelqu'un de très sympathique. Nous avons échangé par WhatsApp et il a su répondre à nos questions très rapidement. Il est très attentionné et se soucie que ses hôtes passent un bon séjour. Nous avons passé deux nuits dans ce magnifique appartement situé à deux pas de la place Saint Pierre. Il est magnifique, décoré avec goût et le ménage est fait avec soin. Il y a deux grandes chambres avec une excellente literie. Une cuisine spacieuse où il y a tout le nécessaire pour préparer les repas. Une salle de bains suffisamment grande avec machine à laver Un salon où il est bien agréable de lire tranquillement Le plus de l'appartement : un jardin avec des citronniers. Inespéré au coeur de Rome ! Quel plaisir de se détendre aux heures fraîches dans les fauteuils. L'appartement est très bien insonorisé et la climatisation est dans toutes les pièces. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié l'ambiance de cet appartement avec de beaux tableaux et de nombreux livres. Nous recommandons Le séjour était trop court

• Bronislava (10/5): Exceptional - - spaciousness of every bedroom, - location is a few steps from vatican and walking, across the river to the other side is very pleasant and not that far, - outside terrace with seating area in the courtyard, perfect for morning coffee, breakfast or yoga - comfortable beds, - although the apartment is reconstructed, it gives a traditional vibe and offers both, the street life of Rome and tranquility of the courtyard, - last but not least, Paolo's flexibility around checkin was very much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏 Paolo is a very kind host, it was a pleasure 👌✨️ - nothing really, all was well (maybe the shower could be bigger, but that's Italy :) )

Paolo very kindly helped us with the luggage (all the way from the car parking which is 5 minutes walk from his place). He also arranged the parking for us when we requested it well in advance. Was great to have a terrace garden for ourself even in such a central location. The pedestrian passage to the Vatican is right Infront of the door so it was so easy to get to the Vatican even with kids. It's very central but not touristic or over crowded which was perfect for us.

• Sumit (9/5): Beautiful apartment in a very nice and safe location - Let me start off by thanking the host, Paolo for his friendly welcome after a long flight and allowing us a bit later than the check-in cut off at 6 pm. When we arrived, he showed us around and explained how to use the windows, gas, and other appliances. He also gave us a list of recommended pizza places and grocery stores nearby. Highly appreciated! We also loved the huge bedrooms with excellent mattresses which allowed for super comfort. Lots of plug points for charging etc. Ample storage space to keep clothes in both bedrooms. There is also a study table in one of the bedrooms which is helpful. The living room is well designed with nice sofa sets and a wonderful bookshelf. There is a TV as well with a firestick which we actually did not use eventually since it asked us to enter an account or create one which was way too much hassle. Beautiful paintings adorn the walls of each room, and these have been done by Paolo's parents. It is his ancestral home so plenty of character to the house. There is a very nice patio outside which is private but with limited sun there now, we did not actually sit there. It can be great in spring/summer time. The kitchen is cozy and has lot of pots and cutlery. The fridge, microwave work just fine. The best part of course is the location, as it is next door to Vatican and also has very good connections via buses to train station and city center. Nice cafes all around and felt safe to walk. The mini market shops had very good fruits and vegetables which helped us a lot. It would have felt nicer to have the quilts with fresh duvet covers on. Also we would have preferred separate quilts. The bathroom door makes a lot of noise and can disturb others at night. Lock of the bathroom is bit tight. Shower area is very cramped and water temperature as well as pressure varied by the second. Lot of shampoo bottles, but no shower gels. Handwash was limited and we had to buy more. All small things, but I believe can help the overall experience. The washing machine, kept moving the laundry tablet to the door side and did not dissolve fully both times we used it. No separate dryer makes it more cumbersome. The heating is time controlled by Paolo and some days when we were more at the apartment it felt cold. Paolo did mention we can ask him for modifications, but somehow I did not feel comfortable to make this request. The kitchen cooking area is very small and difficult to prepare food in it. I think the microwave needs a different location as it is taking up a lot of space, as well as the toaster and kettle. Oh, and a dishwasher is sorely missed here. And although the bedrooms are very nice, there is a considerable noise that can be heard from the street outside even with the windows closed. Good thing is that it is not throughout the night and if you sleep later than 11 pm, you would not notice. Having said that, the apartment is excellent for visiting Rome. Paolo is great too. Strongly recommended!!

• Richard (10/5): Fantastic 12 day stay at Il Limone a San Pietro - We spent 12 days in this place in August/September 2024. The place was immaculately clean and fully functional (efficient air-conditioning, clean fridge/freezer, fully working cooking, washing and ironing facilities) The location is ideal for whomever needs to visit Vatican City, with convenience stores very close by and public transport within 5 mins walking (bus) or 10 mins (Roma S.Pietro train station). Internet was also available throughout the property - which was very important for my two teenagers. Paolo (owner/administrator) was very responsive to our messages and very, very helpful to our requests. Would definitely rebook if I need to revisit. There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

This was actually our second 3 night stay in this property because we loved it so much the first time. The property is in pristine condition and very clean. The location was brilliant, a very short walk to St Peter's Cathedral and Vatican Museum. Heaps of great restaurants right at your doorstep and across the road. We felt like locals. We felt very safe. We travelled all over Italy in June and July and without doubt the two properties that were a class above the rest were "Il Limone a San Pietro" in Rome and "Casa Brogi" in Milan. We'll be back in Rome next year and will definitely be booking this one again. If the owner Paolo is reading this review "thank you Paolo for a wonderful experience and for all your help". We will definitely be seeing you in 2025. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
• Claudia (10/5): Outstanding, great location, couldn’t ask for a better place! - The property was clean, very close (like across the street) from St. Peter’s Square which made everything very accessible and walkable! It was spacious and most of all had air conditioning which was such a relief after a long day and evening walking around the city. In addition, the owner, Paolo, was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and answer any questions. He was available at all time and even secured our shuttles from the airport to apartment, and apartment to Civittavecchia for our cruise. Outstanding service and most gracious host. I’ve been to Rome many times and would most definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. Nothing.

He met us at the property and spent time explaining everything about the property to us. The property belonged to his Grandmother who lived there for many, many years. We felt like locals staying in the apartment for 3 nights and we have booked another 3 nights at the apartment at the end of our holiday. The apartment is spotless, very clean and comfortable. The location is exceptional. Restaurants, bars and cafes literally at your doorstep and we felt very safe in the area. Only a 3 minute walk to St Peters Square. There's a Taxi rank across the road. It was the perfect stay. We plan to return to Rome next year and will definitely be booking Il Limone again. Thank you Paolo. Nothing. It was perfect.

Find delicious food in the restaurants across the street or next doors. Everything is walkable. The apartment is so spacious and comfortable, we really felt at home. What’s the best about the apartment? Paolo, 100%!! He is one of the nicest persons I’ve ever met! From the very first moment Paolo felt more like a friend to us rather than a host. • Andrew (8/5): Characterful flat in a prime location, with a great host always on hand - Paolo is just the best host. Even though he was away during our particular stay, he was on-hand via messages and we had two local contacts to call upon if needs be. Any problems, he will sort it!! The location is superb, especially for accessing Vatican City. We really enjoyed the local restaurants as well. We stayed in January and the heating was simple to operate and kept us comfortable. Beds are lovely and cosy! Good facilities throughout the flat, and it was beautifully clean. It is an old flat, and certain fixtures are maybe due an upgrade soon. It took us a while to get the (old) TV working, for example. You can hear outside noise (traffic, footsteps etc) but it wasn't overly disturbing. A very small thing: kitchen could do with a couple of larger tumbler glasses for water/long drinks!
• Danielle (9/5): Superb - Great location. Spacious, nicely furnished flat. Paolo was very helpful. When people enter or leave the building, the noise sounds like it is within the flat. I normally sleep with earplugs and white noise so this did not disrupt me during the night, but this could be a bit unnerving for someone who is not used to city living.

Paolo was very helpful. We arrived early for check in and were allowed early access. The pillows. Because if the location, the outside shutters were closed. As a result there was not a great amount of natural daylight.

• Ruairi (10/5): Great Location, Great Apartment, Great City - Paolo provides a beautiful apartment for those wishing to be 100 metres from the Vatican. Two bedrooms with the living room turning into a third. The place is spotlessly clean and well equipped with all facilities that you need when travelling (toaster, microwave, washing machine, iron, hairdryer, TV, and even a sound system). There’s a taxi rank on the opposite side of the street, the number 64 bus brings you through the centre of Rome to Termini (just around the corner). Some fantastic well priced restaurants are across the road (La Vitoria was our favourite). Paolo will also give you advice on other places to eat in Rome. From 2024 a new Metro station will be 5 minutes away at Station San Pietro. We couldn’t rate this apartment higher. We will be back - and I’ll be making sure family and friends book this apartment too. Actually - nothing!
• Graeme (10/5): We felt privileged to stay in Paulo's home, it had everything we needed and a great location - Paulo is such an accommodating host - so helpful and friendly. The home is bright and airy and well equipped, with a separate lounge for relaxing, and an outdoor shady patio that was great for relaxing after a hard day of sightseeing.
• Mel (9/5): Very satisfactory, enjoyable and great location - Kitchen enabled us to make breakfast. Host was exceptionally helpful, spacious apartment, very comfortable, great location less than 100 meters from side entrance to Vatican, many good restaurants nearby.
• M.w. (9/5): A very nice place to stay hosted by the charming owner Paolo. Grazie mille Paolo - We arrived at Il Limone de San Pietro and our host Paolo let us in, he was waiting for us in the house. The house is at an excellent location next to the Vatican and it's musea and next to the tunnel which leads directly the the city at walking distance. If you like walking 😁. Plenty reasonable to good restaurants in the near surroundings. Specially "I Quattro Mori". The little garden is a very nice place to sit in the shade of the lemon tree.
• Mateusz (10/5): Greate place to stay in Roma! Great host! - - Great location. Only 2-3 min on foot from Vatican city. - Only 1 min from bus stop. - Place is surrounded by local restaurants. Really great experience! - Paolo was very helpful since first day. On the first day he gave as a list of recommended restaurants. - When we had some questions he was replying very quickly! - On the last day he helped us to get a taxi to the airport. - Very kind and helpful person! - Apartment was clean. The best part was a small patio. We enjoyed every evening there :) We stayed there in 6 people. There are two bedrooms and one living room. Bed in living room could be upgraded a little bit :)
• Mustafa (10/5): Exceptional - It is in a great location three buildings beyond the Vatican. You can reach the Vatican square in 2 minutes by walking. Paolo is a great host. Very caring and helpful. There are two large double beds in the house. There is also a sofa that can be a double bed in the living room. It has quite large and new looking furniture. The backyard is incredibly beautiful. It tastes great to have a drink and chat in the cool air on summer evenings. Actually, we came to Rome to visit, but staying at home was also nice.
• Deborah (10/5): This is a great place to stay, and if I ever return to Rome, I will certainly try and book it again! - The location is excellent. It is about a 5-10 minute walk from Saint Peters and with lots of restaurants and convenience-type shops close by. The apartment is old and charming, with nicely decorated and large rooms, which are appointed nicely. Lamps, plugs, storage in all the right places. The important things, such as the bath and kitchen are very modern. For the 3 of us that were traveling together (a mother/grandmother, a daughter and a grandson), it was perfect. It could certainly accommodate more. Our host was charming, attentive and eager to take care of us. Until the restaurant closes below the apartment, it is a little noisy. But after walking all over Rome all day, it really didn't bother me much and once it closes, it is fine, so not really a problem. Shower is tiny, but works great.
• Valflan (10/5): Great location for visit the city of Rome. You can easily move about the city. - The best part of this location was the owner! Paolo was incredible to us. We arrived in Rome but our luggage did not! We spent a great deal of time on the phone trying to locate our bags and have them delivered. Paolo joined in on our efforts to get our bags! The apartment is in the PERFECT location. We were able to easily walk or take the bus to all of the locations we wanted to visit. The area felt very safe and the bonus was a restaurant downstairs. The food was good but the employees were outstanding! There was one server (don't remember her name) who helped make our stay perfect. To be in the center of activity for the price was amazing! Paolo also came over shortly after we arrived to us negotiate the parking. I would suggest if you arrive with a car-park it and don't move it during your stay! You really don't need a car for this location but we were traveling around multiple locations in Italy. This complaint is a "me" complaint-the beds in Italy seem to all be firm! I prefer soft and squishy! This was our first stop and every stop after was exactly the same.
• Tz (9/5): Paula, our host, was very attentive to anything we needed. Totally recommend it. - The location was so convenient for getting around Rome. We were close to bus stops, the metro and train station. There were numerous restaurants and two grocery stores close to the property. Great, very charming! At times it could be noisy at night but not that bad. We knew this could happen because we were in a busy part of Rome, very near the Vatican. We stayed for an entire month and I started to think of it as home.
• Ant4paigles (10/5): Comfortable apartment with great location - The apartment is like a home from home. Two bedrooms, Lounge, Hallway, bathroom, Kitchen and covered garden sitting area were all clean and inviting. The entrance has two doors, one outside, and one internal with thoughtfully colour coded keys to help select the right one. I have stayed in many B&B places in Rome over the years but never one where the entrance is kept immaculately clean and fresh smelling! The apartment is really well appointed and wants for nothing of your stay. Paolo is an attentive host and even provided a lovely bottle of 'Chianti Reserva' for our short visit. The apartment is literally five minutes from St. Peter's Basilica with plenty of cafes and restaurants locally. This is a really well thought out apartment. The only thing that did not work was the television (which we only tried out of interest as we were out most of the time) which showed that it was tuned into a handful of Italian TV stations but none of them worked!! If we had children with us then this might have been more of an issue? An easy resolution would be an HDMI to USB adaptor on the television which would allow guests to use their phone or notepad to play videos etc.

• Alexia (10/5): Will definitely recommend - The host is a real gentleman. He left gifts for us in the apartment. Was there on time to hand us the keys and even helped us find a taxi. He kept in touch with us in all our stay to see if we needed anything else. The outdoor area was really a relaxing corner away from the hassle and bustle of the city. There was only one shower and one toilet. If the appliances were more modern I guess they would be more energy efficient. And an air condition in the kitchen/ dining area is a must.
• Sally-anne (10/5): Rome was super hot when we were there but the apartment was large and airy. - Il Limone is a beautiful apartment, the courtyard is amazing. Excellent location, there are some lovely restaurants there and a little supermarket across the road. Paolo the host is so friendly and thoughtful (left us a lovely bottle of wine). Would highly recommend staying here. Nothing!
