Madeleine (3/5): Not as advertised - I would not advise this location unless you have your own vehicle and are okay with no pool and no wifi. I’m not sure how there are so many 10 star reviews. We ended up having to leave because the accommodation was not as advertised and the lack of wifi did not work for us. We found the host to be very confrontational and difficult to deal with. The host doesn’t give you the actual address until a day or so before you check in, the address in booking.com is not the correct one. The morning of our check-in we got a long video explaining how to get to the unit, thankfully we had data on our phones otherwise we would have been very lost. To get to the unit you need to be let in to a private gate and drive an extra 2-3 minutes, which Ubers are not very happy about. You also need to be let out of the gate (also a problem for Ubers). This extra step to get to the apartment was not advertised and very inconvenient for us because we did not have a car. We couldn’t get an Uber to pick us up at the apartment so we had to carry our bags on the gravel road to the gate (~10 min walk). They also only accept cash for payment which was not explained to us prior to arriving. The host said she did include that on booking.com but I could not see that anywhere in our reservation or any of our communications. The wifi did not work regardless of what the host tried to tell us. I was completely unable to connect and my husband was only able to connect for a few minutes but wasn’t able to load anything. The pool was also empty, not as advertised. Overall we were unable to stay here because of the things mentioned here. It might be okay for someone with their own car and without a need for internet or a pool but we felt it was not what was advertised and was way overpriced.
