• Katrin (4/5): Not recommended - Great location, on a boating canal, 5 minutes by foot from ferry to Isla Mujeres, bus stop and beach. Nice garden. I gave the house 4 points for location, but that’s the only positive aspect. It is completely run down and in desperate need of renovation. Everything in there is old and badly maintained. It was not very clean, the floor in the kitchen/living was absolutely disgusting. On the first day I spilled a tiny bit of water and wiped it off with a white kitchen towel which came back in a greyish/brown colour. The cooking utensils were old and worn. The fridge not clean on the inside. The washing machine was outright disgusting and I dread the thought that the bed linen/towels may have been washed in it. The vases in the upper staircase are covered by a thick layer of dust. They haven’t been cleaned in years. The front door shows signs of a break in which does not instil trust in the house.
