Guest Reviews

- feredina (6/5): Pleasant but not luxurious at all. - The location was great and the room was clean. There were nice dining options recommended by the staff nearby. I appreciated the tee and coffee in the room, the kettle and mugs were washed it added a homely feel to my morning. There were renovations of the Hotel Schwan and scattered games and an unclear uninviting modern feeling in the "lobby area", in order to get to the reception you had to walk in a bit with no one to great you.

- Li (9/5): Outstanding hospitality, fascinating history, and a prime location—I’d stay again in a heartbeat! - Exceptional service with a personal touch! Phillip was absolutely outstanding—he went above and beyond to provide me with UK/EU plug adapters for both my laptop and phone after I’d forgotten mine at home in England. Larsson also impressed me with fascinating historical insights, including the fact that the hotel dates back to 1628! As someone who appreciates heritage, it was incredible to stay somewhere with such a rich past.
The location is simply stunning, just a stone’s throw from the Rhine River. I also enjoyed the scenic walk along Route 42A toward EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, where I attended classes for my business school module.
My room was modern, clean, and well-equipped with two single beds, a work desk, and a comfortable shower. The only minor drawback was that the room was a bit warm, so I slept with the window open. That said, I didn’t mind—the fresh air was refreshing, and I loved hearing the charming chime of the town bell.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I’d gladly return in the future! The towel rail in the shower room was on and I couldn't find the switch to switch it off. That said, I didn't ask for help with this so next time I will mention this so I can adjust the temperature myself.
- Matthias (8/5): Perfectly functional ! - Automated Check-in worked seemlessly. Ideal if you arrive late.
- Sharon (9/5): We stayed in the off season so everything was closed but it was peaceful and beautiful all the same - Beautiful hotel - even though it was going through renovations at the time it was still a beautiful place to stay
- Rm-r (9/5): Would stay again! - The after-hours check-in was outstanding. Great communication prior to arrival and very simple to accomplish upon arrival. Very basic lodging, but clean and had everything I needed.
- Huaisha (4/5): Disappointing -
- Christina (9/5): Superb - The location was great, close to the river.
The room was small but comfortable and efficient.
The entry to the building and electronic check-in was excellent.
The breakfast was very good and excellent value. The traffic noise from the highway alongside the river.
- Manfred (6/5): Disappointing - The place should not be classified as a hotel as such facilities are missing. Proper breakfast offering. No lounge with softchairs.
- Clare (8/5): Very good -
- Deborah (7/5): Good location, no AC - The location was very close to where our day cruise was leaving from Rudesheim. It wasn't right on the river but since the river was flooding at the time I was very glad that there was dike and road between the hotel and the water. There was a tunnel under the road so you could get to the water if you wanted to and a small beer garden across the street that looked fun.
The room was larger than the average hotel room we had in Germany and I was very happy that it had a small desk fan. The beds were standard for Europe, but I was thankful that the pillow and comforter were not down/feather since I am allergic and had run into issues in previous hotels. The hotel was under construction and there was no one to available on Sunday to check us in so we had to figure out which building we were in and where to find the key. They had sent us an email with an access code but we had to figure out what the code went to. Finally found a box on the side of the building that looked like a large mailbox or electrical panel that had a keypad for our code. We didn't see anyone from the hotel the entire time we were there. There was no air conditioning in the room (which we knew and had experienced a few times in Germany) but there was only 1 window that opened so we couldn't get any airflow through the room. The fan definitely helped but it rained in the middle of the night so we had to shut the window during the coolest night hours. In the hotel's defense, we were on a budget and had booked the cheapest room available with 2 beds.
- Sophia (8/5): Very good -
- Markus (9/5): Superb -
- Sebastian (8/5): Very good - A good location in Oestrich near the river, with excellent soundproofing to deal with the noise of the nearby main road. A good-size room in the nearby guesthouse Breakfast a little simple, but they were in the middle of renovations, and they did warn us.
The rooms could have been a little warmer. A bare floor and harsh lighting made it a little unpleasant
- Eva (9/5): I'd visit again - Location near ancient homes.
Very friendly staff.
Good value for money.
Very clean and comfortable.
Windows that opened.
Good TV reception.
Tea bags and kettle in room. The hairdryer didn't work.
Because the patio was being repaired, there wasn't a sign indicating in which entrance I should check in.
- Andreas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Great service, authentic Rheingau hospitality - Beautiful historic building located right on the Rhine Some rooms are not yet renovated, be choosy
- Virasath (3/5): So so .. - History The reception gentleman during morning hours was very unfriendly… n mechanical without human touch…
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (8/5): Very good -
- Thanah (6/5): Pleasant - The reception staff were friendly, room was clean and breakfast was very decent. The drawback was the closeness to the highway and the poor ventilation. The noise from the highway was tough. It was not possible to shut the windows as ventilation in the room was poor. The small table fan was filed with dust in the blades. Sleep was very poor.
- Claudia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hammr2 (7/5): Overnight stay - Breakfast was great
Room cosy and clean
Not far from Rudesheim No air conditioning
Parking more public than private
No lift
