• Andrew (10/5): - Casa Serena exceeded our expectations in almost every way and ended up being one of the highlights of our entire Costa Rica trip. The moment we stepped into the property, it immediately felt right. It was exactly as described and exactly as it appeared in the photos - but somehow even better in person. Spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, smelling fresh, with excellent air conditioning while still feeling open, light and connected to the surrounding rainforest. You can hear the birds constantly in the background, sometimes howler monkeys in the background, geckos chirping in the rafters of the veranda and every afternoon we had toucans visiting the trees while we sat in the pool. What we loved most was how homely and peaceful it felt. We stayed in some very high-end hotels during our trip, but Casa Serena honestly felt more luxurious to us because of the privacy, independence and connection to nature. Hotels can feel transactional and sealed off from the environment around them. Casa Serena felt like a genuine home-from-home in the rainforest - but with help available whenever needed. We were noticeably a lot happier here than anywhere else we stayed. Communication and support from the hosts was excellent throughout. Alinne was always easily reachable, and Andrew (the local property manager) was extremely helpful without ever being intrusive. When we had a flat tyre and were struggling to contact Alamo because of an issue with WhatsApp, Andrew immediately stepped in, called them for us from a domestic line, and remained available until he knew everything was sorted. The housekeeping and pool maintenance were handled brilliantly as well - available when needed, flexible if not, and always respectful of our privacy. The property itself is extremely well thought through.

• camille (9/5): Super séjour - Très jolie maison bien aménagée et décorée avec goût, avec jolie petite piscine privative. Plage facile d'accès (voiture voir à pied même si moins pratique) ainsi que le centre ville d'Uvita. On peut même voir des animaux de la jungle Sans surprise comme on est dans la jungle, un peu sombre quand il pleut (juillet saison des pluies)

Close drive to many activities but still felt remote and relaxing. - We loved enjoying our delicious morning coffee (provided by the host) on the patio while viewing the wildlife. The house was clean, updated and well-stocked. Definitely recommended!! The bed in the master was incredibly firm. It took a few days to get used to.

• Hila (6/5): A nice little cabin for a couple with a maximum of 2 adult children. - It was really clean and I good location The property not suitable for 6 people. There is no complete separation between the bedroom and the living room and kitchen and there is a lot of noise. The cabin is small and equipped for 4 people (4 chairs around the table for example). 4 children slept in one room and because of the connection with the living room, everyone woke up easily. The pool is much smaller than it looks in the pictures. The master suite is on a separate floor without access from the living room, which is only convenient if there are adult children.

• Mukti (6/5): Left early - cappuccino machine, fresh coffee beans & coffee grinder was the highlight for us. hot water in the shower was great. this property was impossible to find in the dark. the sign is hidden by trees and there are no street lights or markers directly in front of the entrance to let you know you e arrived. we drove up and down this dirt mountain road at 8pm for half an hour before having to contact the property and have them send someone to physically show us where to enter. we had already traveled 8 hours and it was very very frustrating. i travel nearly 3 weeks a month every month, i have managed similar properties in countries like india and this was not something i have come across very frequently. to the owner: BETTER SIGNAGE OUT FRONT AND A LIGHT FOR LATE ARRIVALS. the water kettle was unusable bc it was so covered in calcium so i had to boil water on the induction stove top .. that took half an hour. the “master bedroom” (downstairs) was filled with mold smell. my partner who is a physician would not sleep there and used the bunk bed instead. thankfully i had some incense and that helped a little. it could be a nice property but these issues need to be addressed. we ended up booking a different accommodation and chose to lose the money on the rest of the rental, and we left early.
• Martin (10/5): - Im Wald gelegen kam echtes Regenwaldfeeling auf. Die Küche ist vollumfänglich ausgestattet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Ein anwendungsbereiter Gasgrill stand zur Verfügung. Beide Bäder waren sehr sauber und ausführlich ausgestattet. Ein separater Raum mit Waschmaschine und Trockner inkl. Waschmittel konnte genutzt werden. Einiges and Spielzeug für den Pool gab es darüberhinaus auch noch. Zu beachten ist, dass beide Schlafzimmer nur über eine Außentreppe, die allerdings überdacht ist, verbunden sind. Wir waren als Familie vor Ort und ja, wie einige erwähnt haben ist das Geländer oben bei der Treppe und um den Pool etwas ungünstig. Allerdings kein Problem mit entsprechender Vorsicht.

• Divina (9/5): Preciosa casita en Uvita con todo detalle - Todo, desde el diseño, los detalles, todo el equipamiento del que disponía…. Nos habría gustado algún pequeño sendero por el jardín para salir a ver algún animal (nos gusta salir de noche a ver ranas) y aunque las oíamos no nos atrevimos a bajar al no haber sendero. El que haya dos plantas comunicadas por fuera con dos llaves es algo incómodo, pero no es grave para nada.
• Ainara (10/5): Muy buena experiencia - Muy agradable con todos los utensilios para cocinar, incluso tiene una barbacoa y no hay nadie que moleste al rededor si quieres descansar, contaba con smart TV para hacer noche de pelis, secadores para el pelo… definitivamente muy bien equipada, la anfitriona muy agradable y accesible nos permitió dejar más tiempo las maletas en el lugar

• Philipp (1/5): Be careful, not suitable for families with small children. - The property is lovingly decorated with great attention to detail. The kitchen is very well equipped, and it was a nice bonus to have a washing machine, a dryer with detergent, and toiletries like shampoo and conditioner provided. The accommodation is not suitable for families. It is not clearly stated that the two sleeping areas are separated by an external staircase. The house is located close to a street, making it quite noisy at times, and the main gate cannot be locked, which raises security concerns. The property is situated low compared to the surroundings, making it feel dark and shady, and the pool is very small and mostly in the shade, more suitable for splashing than swimming.

• Devon (10/5): Amazing location and even better kitchen! 10/10 stay. - Great property in an amazing location. We have never seen a more well appointed kitchen in a vacation rental - it felt like I was in my own kitchen. Pots, pans, spices, coffee, cooking utensils, Blackstone grill, small appliances, whole 9 yards. Honestly amazing kitchen. The pool was great. The beds were super comfy. The upper floor's AC struggled during the day, but kept the room plenty comfortable at night. Playa Hermosa Beach is a 3 minute car ride, or 20 min walk away. Also lots of toucans and humming birds! It was fun watching and listening to them over morning coffee. Also the laundry room with full washer and drier was a great touch. Bathrooms were beautiful. Hosts clearly cares and paid attention to all details for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Very little negative to say. Only a couple small things - the sofa/futon upstairs is a little uncomfortable. Just a heads up - the upper unit and lower bedroom are connected externally. Not a big problem, but wasn't super clear in the description and complicated sleeping arrangements with small children - however would be a benefit with older kids. As well, some of the railings around the upper floor does not have a wire/guard around it, and is open to below, as does the railing around the pool area, both with steep drops below - with little ones that's a bit concerning. Some wire or plastic or something would increase the safety.
