Francesco (6/5): Basic apartment in Buenos Aires - The first floor apartment is quite basic but it has everything you need and is very space efficient (thanks to the pull down bed). The bed itself is quite comfortable. There is more than enough storage space for two people on a three week vacation. The bathroom is quite spacious. The location is OK. It is close to major bus lines including the fast metro busses yet it is on a quite street with not a lot of traffic. It is a bit dark at night but we never felt unsafe. The owners were super friendly and attentive. We found the apartment to be quite noisy. There is a bit of noise coming from the street including the occasional loud music from cars or neighbours. I would not say that this was too much of a bother, honestly. What was were the refrigerator and the water pipes. The refrigerator was big but a bit old and very noisy. We ended up switching it off since we found it too loud for sleeping. The noise from the water pipes was quite annoying. The apartment did not seem all that noise insulated and you could hear your neighbours flushing the toilet, taking a shower etc. Niagara falls followed by a good few minutes of dripping noises, especially late at night and early in the morning. Bring earplugs. As for the apartment itself, the furniture was a bit old and in need of a refresh. The closet doors were a bit broken etc. The bathroom could benefit from a new shower curtain and a bit more cleaning. Finally, having only one set of keys meant that we always needed to coordinate if we wanted to do something different during the day. Not a big deal but sub-optimal.
