Guest Reviews
- Mathew (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (8/5): Lovely stay here in St Helen’s Recommend to other travellers. Thank you -
- Rodney (7/5): Not value for money unless you are three couples or a large family. - No breakfast in house I the bathroom and kitchen were very good.We didn’t cook in the house It wasn’t luxury. The floors were cold..the wardrobes and bedroom cupboards were very ordinary! The oven was dirty..The sitting arrangements in the living area need to be rearranged for more tv assess and comfort
- Jenny (3/5): Poor - Furniture was filthy. Someone renting underneath the house (which is not advertised)
- Bruno (10/5): Very enjoyable. -
- Mark (7/5): Good - The property is in very close proximity to the local shops and restaurants in St Helens. Quiet and mostly catered for property. Enjoyed our stay. Oven door had been damaged and was off. Was told on the day by the agent it was going to be fixed but this didn’t occur. Decided to have a bbq instead as had seen a Webber Q in the listing and also in the compendium. There was none to be found at the property. Coincidentally on day 2 and brand new one arrived and placed outside. A bbq gas bottle then arrived and placed in the carport but was completely empty! Also was not made aware of another resident living under the main property.
- Rodney (8/5): Very good - The location Not enough pots to fit steamer's. The lack of cleaning equipment, vacuum cleaner wouldn't charge properly, broom with no handle.
- Nina (8/5): Close to town and huge! - Place was so close to town. Had great big spaces for our child to roam and play. Parking was great even with our bike trailers. Very foul odor from the outside bins. We had to move them away!
The guest entrance balcony didnt look tidy. There was a used rag lying on the floor and the doormat was not neat.
Master bedroom bed not comfy and felt hard on back. Kids bed was comfy though.
Dishwasher wasnt cleaned and still had dirty stuff inside.
Floors werent vacuumed well.
- Annette (8/5): Very spacious and stylish - We liked the location for what we planned to see in the area.
Very quiet residential street. The place is very spacious and light due to lots of large windows. As said before the layout in the lounge is a bit odd and would probably look better with more furniture but that did not affect our stay. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was lovely.
Kitchen layout was great with a separate room with washing machine and drier.
We also liked the outdoor seating areas.
Nice path along by the water into St Helens which took about 10-15 mins. Just a few minor points but over all we enjoyed our stay. The place was comfortable but dusty in places such as in drawers, under the coffee table and the floor in the bedroom.
Plenty of mugs and glasses but not many cereal bowls.
As said before the position of the TV is odd but did not affect us as there was only the 2 of us but could be tricky with a larger group as only a 2 seater sofa to sit on to watch the TV.
- Danielle (8/5): Comfortable. - Very spacious and comfortable. There is only a small two seater couch to view the tv in the lounge room. Can't see the tv from the big couch. Insects got in through worn out screen door.
- Bettina (8/5): Very good -
- Shane (8/5): Convenient, comfortable and nice to be able to bring the pooch along for our stay - Kitchen and bathroom facilities are excellent, and very clean
Comfortable beds
Undercover parking is appreciated especially when the days are quite warm
Close to St Helens shopping strip The living area is large but the position of the TV means it is necessary to move some of the furniture around if more than 2 people want to watch. Is it possible for the TV to be moved to a larger wall or for some other lounge chairs or bean bags to be added to the area where the TV is?
Would also appreciate some absorbent wipes to be provided in the kitchen to assist with cleaning up given there was only a small amount of paper towel available.
- Zhenqi (8/5): Good in total - The location is good, the property is large and the view is wonderful. I love the big shower head in the bathroom. There are many travel books and information on the bookshelf. The fly screen of the door has been broken and flies were in and out freely. The sofa surface look not clean.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (8/5): Comfortable and well located - Excellent kitchen and bathroom. Furnishings and layout in living room dont take advantage of the water views
- Stephen (9/5): lovely house in a great location -
- Ros (9/5): Superb -
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (4/5): Disappointing -
- Julie (10/5): Beautiful spot. - Spacious. Beautiful views of lake.
- Michael (10/5): Brilliant, will be definitely staying again. Treat yourself. - Immaculately kept with high end finishings. Spacious and great water views in a peaceful location. The front sliding glass door lock didn’t seem to work…although the security fly screen did.
- Anita (10/5): Beautiful Accom - Beautiful house, location and close to everythg. Beds very comfy, shower lovely. All in all a great stay thank u. We had an issue with the cleaning, this was addressed with the owner who will resolve.
- Manfred (10/5): Great place to spend time with family - The deck was magnificent… It was spacious and clean. The carport and lighting and fencing were perfect. Nothing
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (9/5): Superb -
- Alan (7/5): Clean, comfortable, well located and quiet. - Spacious, in very good condition. Great kitchen and outlook. Furniture needs upgrading, needs 2x 3 seater lounges in darker colour and coffee table in middle of lounge to take advantage of view, smaller L shaped modular in front of TV. Needs placemats for dining table to avoid damaging service as its a nice table.
- Brent (9/5): Superb - Very clean and well fitted out. Big rooms with good views.
Had a good time despite bad weather.
- Judy (8/5): Very good - beautiful big windows to enjoy the views. Being winter time the sunshine coming in was wonderful. Excellent bathroom and laundry facilities. Unfortunately the BBQ was not useable as it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time.
- Southerly (8/5): Great spot and well appointed house. Would stay there again as it is ideally suitors walk into town & is a good base - Views & well appointed kitchen. Comfortable beds. Heaters were good. Furnishing & decor was lovely & linen was excellent. Unfortunately no electric blankets, kitchen & bathroom exhaust fans were not working. There was no outside light near entry which made it difficult at night. There were no hooks to hang our jackets, towels. Front sliding door to deck appears fragile and felt unsafe. We couldn’t use the grill either?
- Tara (8/5): Very good -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqui (8/5): Couples retreat - Lovely house close to everything, comfortable beds, warm, lovely kitchen and bathroom. Lounge suite was uncomfortable and filthy, tv in kitchen with a 2 seater couch, should of been in lounge room. Kitchen utensils still had food on them we had to wash what we used. Alot of dust on things.
- Grant (9/5): Superb -
- Hewitt (5/5): Passable - Location was great 2 seater couch to watch TV, when there was 4 of us, could do with some more floor coverage (rugs),could not call it luxury.
- Phoebe (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (9/5): Thanks Emily. You have a lovely place. Everything you need is there, and in walking distance to town - Great location
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Bright, clean and spacious home with fantastic views. - Close to St Helen’s shops and waterfront.
Spacious property with huge living/dining.
Super clean and modern design No shades on the front windows at all.
Windows may be tinted but still makes it feel less private.
Also, the TV nook is a little odd.
Suggest switching the bookcase so that you can watch on the 6 seater couch rather than the 2 seater.
- Clemence (8/5): Very good - Good services and supplies
- Alana (9/5): Superb - The property was modern and clean with a beautiful view over the bay. It was walking distance into town which was nice. Would stay here again.
- Lilyana (10/5): Fantastic pet friendly accommodation, beautiful view & awesome location. Really great value for money - So spacious, full of light, pet friendly, amazing views & awesome location Nothing
- Debbie (10/5): I would recommend this stay , great value for money, lots of room, good beds and has extra toilet . - Lots of space, great view , great value for money, good kitchen, comfy beds -
- Linda (8/5): Very good - Great view and location. Comfy bed and plenty of room. With such big windows I'd expect them to have a film on them to stop people seeing in as they don't have sun blinds.
Extremely minimal pantry items.
- Sobolewski (10/5): Great stay - would visit again when in Tassie! - Beautiful floor boards
Light filled spaces
Quiet neighbourhood
Great kitchen & bathroom
Great outdoor spaces
Loved the bookcase! Perhaps some novels in the bookcase would be nice!
Some oil & salt for cooking would be helpful
- David (8/5): Very good - It’s a nice house with plenty of room and well fitted out / looked after. No blockout curtains in the kids bedroom. Location was good but not amazing.
- Alistair (6/5): Average stay. - Nicely renovated kitchen and bathroom. There needs to be more attention to detail when preparing the property for newly arrived guests. Dishwasher was not functional and we only realised when already stacked with dirty dishes. Informed the host and received an apology telling us they’d forgot to notify that it was in need of repair. Paper sachets of salt and pepper provided that ran out instead of salt and pepper grinders, cigarette butts in pot plant back deck from previous guests, lounge was stained and grubby, coffee beans provided instead of ground coffee which was needed for machine, bins were full from previous guests. This property could be much better however more attention to overall presentation and maintenance is required for it to anything more than average.
- Richard (7/5): Our family stay at Luxury Coastal Retreat. - Nice open plan area and kitchen. Bath was nice. Bedroom arrangement suited us. Location was good. Good cutlery selection. Privacy locks on the bedroom and bathroom doors was good. The dishwasher door did not close, so we could not use it. We raised the issue on the first day but received no response. There was only one small fry pan, so cooked pancakes in a pot, which wasn't ideal. Only a few odd shaped glasses.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Shereen (10/5): Great views, facilities and location to beautiful foreshore walks. - Great location to foreshore walks. It had everything we needed and more. Lovely views. So nice to be able to holiday with the furry family members too!
- Charlotte (10/5): Gorgeous views, quiet and comfortable accommodation with full kitchen, responsive host. - Host was very patient with me as I failed to follow directions for accessing the property, despite their very clear directions. Very helpful! A bit dusty in all rooms, especially floors, but otherwise clean.
- Reece (7/5): Good -
- T (8/5): Very good - Beautiful views, the property had the wow factor and close to all amenities. Dishwasher didn't work, the cleaning was not as diligent as it could be.
- Olga (8/5): Great house with modern furnishings, in a quiet and convenient location- easy to walk to town or around the bay! - Very spacious and comfortable space with everything you might potentially need. Fantastic location with beautiful serene views. Very well equipped kitchen. I really have nothing to say here..
- Stuart (9/5): Lovely home as a base for the area. - Clean and lovely view. Easy walk into St Helens. House has everything we needed re cooking equipment and facilities. No instructions for equipment. Key safe had been moved from its original location but this had not been communicated. We thought it had 2 bathrooms but 1 bathroom and a separate toilet in the laundry
- Vicki (7/5): Good - The location Lack of privacy. Love the views, but blinds would be appreciated. Floor rugs would reduce sound and soften the hard flooring. The inside of kitchen drawers were dirty.
- Debora (7/5): Good -
- David (5/5): Passable -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - The house was very clean and tidy and well appointed.
Good location as was only a short walk to the shops.
I would definately recommend to other people. Nothing, it was all lovely.
- Riches (4/5): Disappointing - Beds were comfortable, nice view Spacious house with minimal furnishings, people below were loud and no blinds on living area windows, it felt like we were on show
- Annemarie (10/5): Very new and stylish beach house. We loved it. - Excellent location. Close to the bay. Could use some privacy blinds in living area.
- Phuong (9/5): Superb -
- Luisa (10/5): Fantastic stay - Location was great! Beautiful views The house is on top of a full time rental and had be cautious of the kids making too much noise.
- Fiona (7/5): Great location and decor but improvements needed - Great location and views. Secure backyard for our small dog.
Modern and tasteful decor. Loved the bathroom and kitchen. The house was poorly heated so it was cold. Being floorboards and elevated added to the coldness. We needed warmer bedding and blankets. No hot water when we arrived due to gas running out. No instructions on how to use appliances. Lounge room was poorly arranged with large modular couch not facing the view or tv. If you wanted to watch tv you could only do this from a 2 seater couch.
There were people living under the house. This was not advised when we booked. They were noisy and played music until late.
- Sharon (6/5): Pleasant - It was Close to everything
Warm and cosy Needs curtains in lounge and dinning area, found this very unusual no privacy at night
Unable to use TV as needed internet log in which we did not have
Unable to contact host found this very frustrating
Other than that quite a nice place to stay
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely newly renovated property. Exceptional kitchen with all the equipment you would need. Beautiful bathroom with great water pressure and huge bath. The beds are very comfortable.
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good -
- Lynne (8/5): host responded quickly. home is beautiful and easy walk into town.town, area is lovely - modern, clean, centrally located. there was nothing we didn’t like and or enjoy
- Ezann (9/5): Superb -
- Diana (5/5): Ok but did not disclose it is a duel property. - It comfortable enough, although the furniture was very oddly shoved all in one corner of the lounge snd we had to actually move furniture to live in it. Thé ad does not mention it is a SHARED property with someone living down stairs. That’s a major failing, not disclosing. And the furniture in the lounge is ridiculous. This property is just passable.
- Christine (10/5): Great location… Comfortable home with fantastic views… Highly Recommend - Location was fantastic. The view was wonderful. Short walk to town. Very close to beach walks and park. Quiet street and neighbours. Rooms were large and comfortable. Kitchen was easy to use and fully equipped for our needs. No. Everything was perfect. We would love to stay here again. Highly recommend.
- Tabatha (9/5): Superb - Amazing property, great location! The house had everything we needed, and is very spacious.
- Kaili (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leanne (9/5): Lovely views, excellent vibe - Excellent amenities, lovely fixtures and furniture. Very comfortable beds Nothing
- Ivan (9/5): Superb -
