Guest Reviews
- Amy (10/5): Snowy Range wilderness retreat - Amazing place for a wilderness retreat, close to South-West National Park and to Huon Valley Grove of Giants. I liked nearly everything. The pillows were a bit too fully stuffed for my liking, I prefer a flatter pillow. It was clean enough but there could be minor improvements in that area. Everything else superb.
- Christian (8/5): - Place was comfortable and cosy. Being a long time catch and cook fisherman, was disappointed to be informed the day before i was to arrive that if fishing it was catch and release only,if i would of known this on booking,i would of reconsidered staying there.

- Karin (10/5): Our idea of heaven on earth! - We loved everything about Snowy Range. The position of the cabin, the view, little Dennison River flowing through the property. We could walk for ages on the property which had changing landscape - we had so much fun exploring. The outdoor fire was great too We even saw a platypus one morning for first time after 10 trips to Tassie. The cabin was very comfortable with a great bed. We seriously considered cancelling our next two nights prepaid accommodation to stay here longer. The serenity was unbeatable. A weeks R & R here is now our highest priority for when we next go to Tassie. Also, Huonville is a great little town that has everything you could need. Highly recommend Salamanca Fresh for groceries. A hairdryer would have been good but sat under air con instead before bed to dry hair.
- Dallas (10/5): Exceptional - The tranquillity of the whole place
- Renaldi (10/5): Beautiful and memorable! - Absolutely beautiful place! Highly recommended if you are travelling to southern Tasmania or just trying to find a getaway. Nothing
- Jill (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (10/5): Wonderful relaxing location. Would stay again! - Wonderful stay in a beautiful location. Felt remote enough to feel like I was in the middle of nowhere but was still close to any amenities that might be needed and easy to get to from Hobart
- Christie (10/5): As good as the photos! - The property matched the online photos and was exactly as described. The cabin was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed. The attention to detail was outstanding - outdoor setting on the deck overlooking to pond, champagne glasses, good quality appliances, linen and bedding. This was a fabulous place for a relaxing break. It really is a wilderness retreat and one that we would very much recommend. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
- Pang (10/5): I love waking up at 5.20 am to fish the waters amidst the bird song. The trout rise around 7.30 am. - The surrounding landscape, views and water were exceptional. You can sit on the sofa on the deck in the sun and stare at the ponds all day, watching the weather and winds change the colour and atmosphere. Every now and then, there are fish rising, jumping out of the water or attacking insects at the water edges, platypuses wandering about. The bed is massive, the rain shower is amazing. The living room is comfortable with a great view of water, and a good selection of books. The deck space was great for laying our fishing gear, preparing fishing lines, drying waders and socks. I loved that there are no planes flying overhead, only loud birds. This is a place to read a book, take long walks, or wish 12 hours a day in a completely natural place. To me, it feels like home. I wish I had some foreknowledge of the fishing conditions such as reeds, bushes and trees getting in the way. What I really needed to have was a long-handed landing net. But it didn't stop me from hooking up 3 big rainbows. Two was sighted (1 top and middle pond) and caught with a pheasant tail Kebari (one floating and one sanked). The last rainbow chased a 2.5g suspending minnow with single hooks, knocked it about twice. I manage to cast it again and watch the rainbow eyeball the lure, and seize the hook slowly. No aggressive attacks on artificial lures! My short landing net couldn't reach out past the reeds, or over it so the fish broke the leader, the tippet or fell off the lure all three times!
