• Neil (10/5): - Staff were friendly, helpful and informative. Room was spotlessly clean, and was made available even though we were early on arrival. Cocktails were great value, best we had on the island. When our airport transfers did not arrive, they organised a car and driver to take us to meet our plane, without charge. Thank you so much for giving our holiday a great start. Nothing really, snorkelling was challenging as it was quite windy and quite sizeable surf breaking over the reef. Water was quite cloudy because of this so not much in the way of fish were seen.

• Michelle (5/5): Clean, functional rooms but not what was expected from an “adults only RESORT” with no privacy. Definitely not a luxury - Onsite bar and restaurant. Clean and large rooms. This property is more like a motel than a “resort”. There is no privacy with all rooms visible from the pool area. The TV could not connect to WiFi and so we were unable to stream/cast anything. No movies available.

She didn't say hello,no smile,no welcoming words ,nothing! She made very bad impression of the hotel by her behavior. The beach In front of the hotel is stony,not possible To swim there. No sunbeds on the beach because there is not a beach..... Watertemperature In the pool is cool,not comfortable. Breakfast: the poorest we have ever had In 4 star hotel: no cheese,no tomatoes,no ham,no muesli which are the BASIC supplies at breakfast.For this price hotel you expect To get good breakfast. We had excellent experience In another Moana hotel: beachfront hotel where was nice staff ,good breakfast,wonderful beach. But this hotel we Will not Come back.It was a big disappointment.

Beach a bit rocky but we were able to launch the complimentary double kayak and paddle up to Muri lagoon. Nice setting and facilities overall A light cotton blanket would have been good for the sleeping temperature

• Tamara (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at Moana Sands Lagoon Resort, check-in staff were amazing, the room exceeded our expectations and the lagoon views from our room were spectacular. Highly recommend the restaurant for dinner, staff were amazing and food was delicious, inclusive breakfast was basic but sufficient (paw paw, apple, orange, yoghurt, cereal, toast and spreads) latte was really good (additional cost but worth it). We will stay again next time we are in Rarotonga.

Dinner at restaurant was pretty good. Nice pool and we enjoyed our spa session. Good location. Bathroom was also very good. The continental was hugely underwhelming, was nothing like it was advertised. Was annoying the restaurant is not open all day. There is no happy hour and the place very much lacked atmosphere, feel like it costs a lot for what you get.
• Emma (9/5): Relaxation at its best. - Large, comfortable room, with amazing lagoon views beside the pool. Room was serviced daily except weekends, and had everything we needed. Great location with minimart, delicious Vietnamese cafe and coffee and crepe shop across the road. Public bus stopped at resort, and airport transfers were seamless. Most staff were super friendly and helpful. Walking distance to many other eateries and bars, and water activities. Resort had kayaks, snorkelling gear and reef shoes available to borrow. Very limited vegetarian menu at the restaurant. More than 2 options would have been welcomed. Washington machine and dryer were $5 NZD each.

• Carnie (10/5): Moana Sands Lagoon Resort. - Rooms and staff were fantastic. Restaurant meals were as good as any on the island with a good menu selection. Spa massage with awesome. Pick up and drop off prompt with helpful drivers. Free breakfast was very meager and poor value. Cooked breakfast was available but at additional cost.
• Noemi (8/5): Very good - This hotel is quite modern. It has big rooms, modern bathroom with nice hot water. They give you heaps of toiletries that smell good. Easy access to beaches: left - 10 min walk to Muri beach. Right - 10 min walk to Tikioki beach, both sandy with great snorkeling on a sunny day. You can walk on the beach to the beaches! Bit rocky but you can see crabs, fishes, etc. Walking distance to shops and the local bus stops right outside of the hotel. The pool was actually really nice. Perfect temperature, clean. Not chemically! Since no children, it stays peaceful and clean and you can enjoy a lovely pina colada in the sunset. This hotel is on the windy side of the island! When it blows, it's hard to enjoy the outside area. (Not their fault) Eating: the hotel restaurant is better for breakfast. We had 1 dinner here and it was disappointing. The food at the Muri night market is not great. Other resorts had nicer dinner options but they were pricey! Affordable eateries with good food and athmosphere are far from the hotel. However, my only real negative observation was, that there was no vibe! I thought a hotel with no children & delicious cocktails would be buzzing at night, with people having drinks and a good time around the pool but nada. Dead. Not sure why.

Restaurant operated independently of Moana Sands and only offered a very limited Continental Breakfast but an option to purchase a cooked breakfast. Overall facilities a bit light on to claim "Resort" status
• Sally (8/5): Very good - Room was big, bed super comfy and the bathroom was great. The pool was great. We were able to stay in our room on final day until 6pm due to late flight home. The bar wasn't open until 3pm and then closed around 9pm. This may have been due to down season beginning of April. Lucky we took some duty free so could still have a drink around the pool.

• Joanna (8/5): I was happy with my choice of accommodaiton for the price. - The rooms are spacious. Most things are well maintained and work. The location with direct access to the beach and views of the sea from the pool was b etter than I expected The included breakfast was disappointing with very limited selection. The fruit apeared recycled from the day before with brown apples and why apples in a tropical country? Most staff were very helpful but restaurant staff did not seem a happy crew-except the main person who was always cheerful and helpful.
• Kym (7/5): The room was comfortable and the pool was good but there are alot better options on the island - The location is great, rooms are spacious and clean with air con, tiled showers and a comfortable bed. The restaurant and house keeping staff were very friendly. The check in staff were not very friendly or helpful , on check in the girl said she didn't know where to get a scooter or when they closed! The included breakfast selection was horrendous , some bread to toast , chopped up brown apple and rice bubbles. Luckily we are not big breakfast people and went somewhere else later on but would have expected a better fruit and cereal selection. Lunch was also not available and no drinks until 3pm which made hanging around the resort pool for a relaxing day not a good option.

• Victoria (9/5): Beautiful place, couldn't have asked for more from a small boutique resort. - Gorgeous friendly staff who knew our names as we were greeted for breakfast each morning. Huge comfortable rooms. Felt private even though we were right next door to other guests. A really solid lovely adults only accommodation option. This is by no fault of the resort itself, but the location was a little bit awkward, a good 20min walk to Muri, or going the other way 20mins to Charlies. Would have love to have been a little closer but we know that for next time if that is something we decide is important for another stay. Definitely got our step count in!

• Fiona (9/5): Superb - The pool being central to the resort and where it was not so busy. The staff were fantastic, this is especially Va and Meri in the restaurant. The reception staff were very helpful as well. I would like to see more water sport facilities like kayaks and maybe a paddle board or two. Would have been good if the kitchen had a microwave, just something extra to reheat or cook your food if needed.

The staff made for a seamless check in and check out experience. - Large spacious room, nice pool, friendly staff The view out to the central area is a little awkward at first because it felt very public, but then we didn’t mind so much once we got used to it
• Brid (8/5): it was a great peaceful stay in a good location staff were great. - Breakfast was alright, perhaps a bigger choice fruit and a couple of different cereal options. It would be great if there were better water sports equipment eg only one Kayak for Single and it filled with water, The double kayak was too heavy to carry down to the water. I would add some new kayaks and perhaps some stand up paddle boards too . As an additional consideration it would be great to have some push bikes available rent for guests.

• Zoys11 (8/5): Clean and comfortable on the lagoon. - New property, clean and comfortable with spacious rooms. Room 723 on the upper floor is perfectly located with excellent views of the lagoon. Fairly simple property and facilities. Probably not the best spot on Maui beach for swimming and a lot of the good restaurants are about a 20mins walk away.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was amazing too. Location wise it could not have been better for us with plenty of amenities near to hand with choices to eat out as well. It was great to have free use of all the beach wear from sea shoes, snorkels, etc Everything was perfect for us

• Anne (9/5): A pleasant and comfortable relaxing stay. - The breakfast was OK.. The restaurant and bar were excellent.Our room was huge and the shower excellent. Really appreciated adults only. Loved the dogs and bus, and being within walking distance of the night market. The location was a bit far from good sea swimming, but the pool was lovely. The reception staff could have been friendlier, but they did all that was required. Our room was advertised as having a microwave..it didn't. The shuttle was unexpectedly expensive..quoted price was per person, not per booking. The hotel was very expensive but comparable to others nearby.

A very limited continental breakfast was included in the room cost - but sadly it was extremely disappointing. Air Conditioner didn't seem to have much "cooling" air.

That they didn’t have an all day menu, it lacked any type of atmosphere, no entertainment provided! Closed for lunch and cocktails only provided late afternoon, it needed to be more resort like with more things to do at the resort! Places like The Rarotongan where there was plenty to do!
