• Shirley (3/5): a hotel I would never return to - the kiosk in front of the beach This property is overrated. It's a 5-star hotel that receives guests from all over the world, and the breakfast buffet is the same every day. There's no variety, no coffee machine, and no selection of juices. If you want an omelet early, before 7 am, no one will serve you, and if you complain at reception, they tell you to do it at the restaurant because they're separate businesses, as if you had made two reservations instead of one. In the bathroom, there's no shower gel or body lotion, just small bars of soap, and only one bar for the shower and sink.

• Lucas (10/5): Magnífica - Cortesia da recepção, qualidade do quarto com vista para montanha e para o mar. Banheira com sais de banho. Guarda roupa com cabides, ferro de passar. Isolamento acústico. Piscina com música excelente e vista mar. Localização em frente a praia, entre a Barra e Copacabana, ideal para deslocamentos rápidos de táxi/uber. Cobraram uma bolacha que eu não consumi do frigobar com base no lixo do banheiro. Eu trouxe a bolacha do aeroporto. Porém eles estornaram sem grandes dificuldades.

Muito obrigada ♥️ Única questão que ficamos chateado foi não terem nos ajudado com as malas quando chegamos do casamento, de madrugada, mesmo havendo alguns funcionários disponíveis na recepção. Porém, um funcionário do estabelecimento ao lado nos ajudou (que não era do hotel nacional). Tirando isso não tenho nada a reclamar.

As atividades para as crianças ocorrem diariamente em diversos horários, achei bem legal apesar de não ter levado os meus nesse hotel. Cheiro de mofo saindo do ar condicionado, puxador da porta do box enferrujado.

The hotel should remove the live music/DJ from the swimming pool, it does not allow guests to relax and have peace and quiet in the sun.

The beach is a lot more quiet than the main beaches at Copacabana or Ipanema, which was enjoyable. Fast elevators, and delicious breakfast and room service. The location is not so convenient, you would need to take Uber / taxi, every time you would like to go anywhere. Couple restaurants nearby, but for a longer stay, you probably would want to try out other places as well.

• Costa (9/5): - A localização é muito boa, boa barraca na praia e os quartos amplos. A feijoada servida no sábado valeu muito a pena. A frequência do hotel muito familiar com gente de diversos países. O horário do café da manhã poderia estender até mais tarde, ficamos em fim de semana prolongado e eram pontuais no término; às 10:30h recolhiam tudo. Não tem nada diet, minha esposa é diabética e não ofereceram praticamente nada diferenciado. Todos os dias pedi que fosse trocado ou consertado o relógio de cabeceira pois não consegui acertar o horário e ninguém atendeu.

The distance between Ipanema and Copacabana was also quite good. I think the building's facilities need some updating. On another note, it would be great if they provided water for customers.

• ALINE (10/5): Maravilhoso! - O hotel Nacional superou todas as minhas expectativas, desde a chegada na recepção do hotel com toda simpatia e gentileza dos recepcionistas, até as áreas comuns e serviços. O quarto que eu fiquei era simplesmente espetacular com vista para a praia de São Conrado, a cama super macia e confortável, e todo o quarto suprindo nossas necessidades. O hotel disponibiliza Shampoo e Condicionador grandes, com aroma divino. A piscina e todo o serviço de bar foram ótimos, além da academia, que é simplesmente maravilhosa, super completa para quem quer treinar durante a estadia. O hotel sabendo que era aniversário da minha esposa, ainda mandou um bolinho super delicioso para o nosso quarto, e mesmo no dia do check out podíamos continuar aproveitando a área da piscina e jardim. Além disso, o hotel disponibiliza cadeiras e guarda-sol na área da praia para hóspedes do hotel. Super recomendo e indico o hotel Nacional. Nota 1.000! Acho que o estacionamento poderia ser gratuito para hóspedes, porém tive que pagar uma diária de 60,00 reais por dia em que fiquei no hotel. Deveria ser um serviço incluso no hotel, já que o hóspede está hospedado no local.
• Arthur (8/5): Hotel é icônico, mas experiência dos hóspedes precisa ser melhor trabalhada. - O hotel é icônico, muito bem localizado, com arquitetura e paisagismo especiais. Os quartos são grandes e agradáveis, ainda que as amenidades pudessem ser melhor trabalhadas (toalhas, sabonetes, dentre outros). O hotel tem uma estratégia muito agressiva para venda de time-sharing, com muitos vendedores (pelo menos 10-15) aguardando os hóspedes terminarem o café da manhã para abordá-los oferecendo "um tour pelo hotel e benefícios", com o objetivo final de vender time-sharing. A abordagem o tempo inteiro é muito desagradável e piora a experiência dos hóspedes no hotel. Em compensação, havia apenas uma pessoa no café da manhã na estação de ovos/tapioca, o que formava sempre muitas filas. Poderiam tirar um vendedor de time-sharing e colocar para atender no café da manhã.

View on sunrises was really amazing! I would like to thank the man who helped with the luggage upon arrival, as well as the other receptionists who were much more hospitable than the woman who checked me out I got food poisoning at this hotel, ate only there during my stay. The receptionist during my checkout on the night of April 24 was impolite. No one helped with the luggage, and she refused to find anyone who could assist, without even trying. This is unacceptable for the hospitality industry. There wasn’t even a spoon in the room to prepare medicine. The minibar and bathroom amenities were not replenished. Bad sound insulation

• Mustafa (1/5): Bad experience - I experienced very poor treatment by the staff. The employees did not behave in a friendly manner; they did not treat guests with respect. I saw this with my own eyes when they interacted with a French family who was staying there. They spoke to them in a very disrespectful way, and they did not respect even the children in the family. With me as well, they acted as if they did not want guests at all. When you give them a tip, they are happy; but when you do not give them anything, they treat you very badly.
• Mustafa (1/5): - I stayed at the National Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a nice décor, but the treatment by the staff was extremely poor. The employees did not give a good impression; they were not friendly at all and acted in a very unwelcoming way. I had an issue: when I arrived at the hotel, I paid in advance. However, when I did the checkout late at night, as my flight from Rio was at 3 a.m., I was in a hurry to go to the airport. At checkout, they told me I had to pay again. I told them I had already paid, but they insisted. They wasted a lot of my time, and in the end, to avoid any further issues, I had to pay a second time so I could leave. The staff did not know how to handle guests properly. They were not welcoming at all. I hope this message reaches the hotel manager.

• André (3/5): Serviço ruim - Infraestrutura e localização Tem poucos bons funcionários em relação ao atendimento, principalmente na área de alimentação, o pior foi após algumas horas do check out liguei no setor de Guest para recuperar peças de roupa que havia esquecido no guarda roupa e o retorno foi negativo, infelizmente estava pensando em adquirir uma cota de uma unidade, mas com essa falta de segurança em relação aos bens esquecidos fica difícil.

• iNsUrEdByMaFiA-1 (1/5): Waste of money and peace of mind. - Fernanda Dias and Thiago Gomes at the front desk were awesome. Guys. Do not stay at this 1-star hotel that masquerades as 5-star unless you want to waste your hard-erned money. Erika Freire at reception doesn't believe in welcoming the guests with a smile. Very stern look. She acted as if she was doing us a favour by checking us in. Her expression was: "You came here in this BS hotel, you losers? Fine. I will check you in". Washroom pipe leaks water and there's water everywhere in the washroom. No amenities in the room (toothpaste, toothbrushes, comb, hand lotion, etc). No drinking water in the room. No coffee machine or coffee cups in the room. Breakfast had exact same tasteless and cold items everyday. There was no toaster in the breakfast area. There's always a congregation of waiters near the computer table in the breakfast room. Brazilians love to socialize, but it's not appreciated if they do that at the expense of customers. Very tiny, very sub-standard washroom soap sticks to the platform because there's no soap case. No tissue box in the room. If you have a runny nose, you must use the toilet paper. Internal steel door security loop lock doesn't align with the clasp. Very poor workmanship. Main room door doesn't close smoothly. It grates on the floor this leaving skid marks on the floor. Very third world. Bathroom drainage steel covering which was loose finally gave way. There's mold in the bathroom. Alarm clock in the room didn't work. There's no legend on the room phone. You don't know which button to press for Reception, Room Service, or Housekeeping. I somehow contacted room service and asked for extra blankets. The blanket-delivery guy knocked on the door and delivered the blankets after 10 minutes, while texting someone on the cellphone. No eye contact, no smile, no response to my Obrigado, and no goodnight. Very weird. Almost everyone in the hotel needs a rigorous one-year cutomer-service training, it was so horrible.

• Ludmilla (9/5): Uma experiência de Rio diferente - A vista do quarto é bonita, café da manhã bom. Fomos no carnaval, então foi prático. Os itens de banheiro são pobres pro tipo de hotel. Faltou toalha. Falta capricho no quarto. Piscina era tão quente que parecia uma jacuzzi.
