• Nikki (9/5): Great stay, fabulous views, modern clean interiors - Fabulous views, walk to village. Beautiful architectural designed A frame with great amenities and comfy beds. Clean and spacious. Could not fault the property, however the name Wind Houses does describe the windy nature of the location which impacts on noise level in upstairs loft.

• Carla (1/5): Too noisy - The accommodation is beautiful and well equipped, so if you can sleep through a tornado or just don’t plan to sleep at all then this is the perfect spot. Otherwise, I would only recommend staying if you’re sure it’s going to be very calm weather. Now I’m sure like us you’ve read the reviews and looked at the name and thought surely the wind can’t be that bad, it will be fine. I can confirm we’ve never experienced anything like this. It was like living through a tornado in a tin shed. The noise is unbearable, so much so we had to check out after one night and move to a hotel, as we couldn’t spend another minute in the house. We were also offered no sort of compensation or understanding from the host about having to do so.

The location is extremely windy, and if you’re sensitive about sleeping , you might encounter some problems falling asleep with this noise, however if you are staying for more than one night, you’re getting used to it :)

Hot tub not very bog or deep. No shelves in bathroom, cold fridge water not working.
• Vivian Reddin (10/5): Best views and comfy beds ever!!! - Amazing views, right near downtown, easy to park, beutiful firniture, bathroom, hot tub, cpmfy beds and couches, great dining area inside with view, great deck to see all the mountains, cool breeze at night, wuiet, jist so wonerful! I love innSamara near the beqch in a very old hoise, and my 2 Amerocan friemds came to go ziplining and walk the bridges. It was SO noce to stay on a new house and use the hot tub and bew beds!!!
• Enora (7/5): Am Tag schön in der Nacht katastrophal - Sauber, schöne Einrichtung, unfassbarer Ausblick von der Terrasse, voll eingerichtete Küche, nah am Monteverde Nationalpark, fußläufig viele Restaurants ins Stanta Elena zur erreichen Der Wind in der Nacht war extrem. In der oberen Etage konnte man fast nicht schlafen. Wir waren ehrlich gesagt froh, dass wir nur 2 Nächte dort verbracht haben

• Brittany (8/5): Great views and comfy rooms - The stay was beautiful and had everything we needed to be comfortable! The only issue was how loud the roof is when it is windy. With how much wind is in the area we felt like the wind was going to rip the roof off. We slept in the bottom room so it wasn’t that bad, but if we had slept upstairs we wouldn’t have been able to sleep at all.

• Jodi (8/5): It is a very lovely property and maybe if weather conditions were different it would have been more enjoyable. The view - Beautiful property with exceptional views. It was very windy for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. It was so loud the first night, it became quite stressful and very hard to sleep, especially in the loft. Also it was very hot mid day with no shade on the deck and no air conditioning.

• Victoria (8/5): Super logement - Très jolie maison, placée dans les hauteurs de santa elena, très propre et moderne. Le Check in s’est très bien déroulé et les propriétaires sont très réactifs. Nous étions 5, et il n’y avait pas assez de couverts ni assez de chaises, alors que l’hébergement est censé pouvoir accueillir pour 5 personnes.

• Patric (9/5): Schönes Designer Haus mit Abzug in der B Note - Vom Stil und Design her ein wirklich schönes und außergewöhnliches Gebäude. Die Lage mit Blick ins Tal runter auf die Nicoya-Halbinsel ist einfach atemberaubend bei gutem Wetter. Der Name ist Programm. Durch den Wind ist es wirklich extrem laut und ohne Oro-Packs oder noice canceling Kopfhörer kriegt man wirklich kein Auge zu. Vielleicht sollte der Gastgeber in den Informationen darauf aufmerksam machen, denn nicht jeder liest sich alle Bewertungen durch. Wir hatten zum Glück beides dabei weswegen es erträglich war:) Und die Dusche müsste repariert werden. Dort kommt nur entweder Eis kaltes Wasser oder gefühlt 70 grad heißes Wasser raus.
• Jorge Ernesto (10/5): - Amazing location, awesome view of the sunset. Very comfortable rooms and easy access to the house. The hot tub works very well in the cold weather of the area. Good parking area too. Close to several shops. Depending on the weather, the wind can be very noisy at night. If you are a light sleeper, we recommend using the room on the first floor.
• Deborah (10/5): - We loved the beautiful location on the hill with its view towards the bay and Nicoya peninsula. Since we were there in the dry season, the sunsets were incredible. The loud wind on the roof was also a positive for us, since we could tell we were in nature as we watched the clouds streaming rapidly by. If you don't sleep well with loud sounds, choose. somewhere else, since most lodging in Monteverde isn't so exposed to the wind.

Der Ausblick ist unglaublich und die Lage ist top, man kann zu Fuß zu den Restaurants und alle Aktivitäten sind schnell mit dem Auto erreichbar 🤗 Wir würden es wieder nehmen 🤗 Gibt es nichts - dass der Wind bläst war uns bewusst bei der Buchung.

• claudia (8/5): La casa voladora!!! - Una casa moderna, limpia, bien ubicada y con excelentes vistas. Figura como 2 baños y en realidad era 1 ya que consta de un aseo con lavabo muy pequeño y bater, y la ducha separada, grande y bien, y la habitación superior consta de un jacuzi pero no tiene baño ninguno!!! Tuvimos mala suerte con el viento que fue tremendo y en la casa era atronador!!!

• Joyce (8/5): Excelente, hermoso, PERO cero privacidad en el hospedaje - Las instalaciones son preciosas y el diseño espectacular Hay un gran detalle, NO hay privacidad, el alojamiento tiene 2 casas, pegadas con la misma entrada y TODO se ve, si vas al baño, si estás en la cocina, si sales, etc, ya que es un concepto abierto y no hay como cerrar/tapar la entrada principal. Inclusive los huéspedes que estaban al lado entraban a nuestro balcón y se ponían a ver hacia adentro, fue demasiado incómodo, hay que estar prácticamente encerrado en el cuarto para que los otros huéspedes no invadan su privacidad

Només té taula amb 4 cadires, en cas de ser 6 és un problema.es

The perfect cozy getaway Some of the amenities are missing such as a mop, bathroom mat, and the bathroom sink is tiny. Because the whole front is glass you also don’t have a privacy from the house next to you.
• Jeremy (7/5): Fantastic views, cozy accommodations. Make sure to bring earplugs because the wind is fierce - The property is BEAUTIFUL and has a tremendous long distance view of the Nicoya gulf. Beds were the most comfortable of any property we stayed at in Costa Rica. Property is well equipped and in a great location for the Monteverde attractions. Standing on the front porch and looking out at the view is incredible. The wind is incessant. The house sits at the top of a hill and the wind hits it head on all day, every day. Even in April which is not the peak windy season, it felt like we were sleeping inside of a jet engine. I noted the name Wind House when booking, but had no idea how loud the wind would be. Everything about this stay was fantastic except for the wind that kept everyone from sleeping. Bring earplugs for sure! This review would be an 11/10 if not for the disruptive nature of the wind noise.

• Jim (9/5): Amazing view and very nice clean house. - Great location and facility the only downside is the high wind and the noise from the wind and rain. This can easily be overcome by packing some ear plugs . So more of a heads up than a complaint .

Separate shower from the bathroom, so easy to share with another couple. Decent size refrigerator and 2 burner stove (though not obvious how to use the stove). Walking distance to town. Nice outdoor deck. View out to the ocean on clear days. It is located up a hill, so a walk to town will require a steep climb back to the house. It is a windy location. The roof is metal, and there is no insulation between the roof and the interior of the house. Strong winds cause the metal roof to create lots of noise inside the house. If you are a light sleeper, it can keep you awake at night.

• P. (10/5): Beautiful home with a Jacuzzi - The architecture of the house was absolutely beautiful, and it included a Jacuzzi bathtub. There was access to Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney Channels, and more. The view was amazing, and the location was just a short walk to restaurants and shops.

Some day the wind made it noisy but we stayed at another place in Monteverde and you could also hear the wind. This property was close to town. It was very spacious and the jacuzzi was an added bonus. It was a little warm inside during the day especially upstairs but there were a couple fans. Also the shower the water temp went from scolding to ice cold. It was very hard to regulate.

No storage for clothes, extremely noisy due to the wind (it's not called wind houses for nothing, no cooking facilities - nothing much in the pace except beds, chairs and a TV. Water was leaking through the ceiling when it rained.

If you need comfort quiet and safe at night - N - The house was very nice, the view was spectacular The house is indeed very loud when wind blows - and it blows all the time. Also it's kind of moves during strong wind and it's not nice to sleep feeling all the wind and cracking around - but to be honest it was in reviews so I was aware of that. Also random pots and cups and glasses in the kitchen didn't match the whole architecture of the house:)

Unfortunately after two sleepless nights we could not wait to leave - this house is unbelievably noisy in bad weather - it felt like being in the eye of a storm. The wind howled all night, amplified by the structure and the position. There's a reason this is called a wind house. The house was cold too, felt pretty basic in terms of the equipment provided, and there was no bedding for the sofa bed. I can see that in better weather we would have had a completely different experience, but it really wasn't at all good for us.

We had to constantly dry the floor and place pots and pans where there was too much water coming in. Notified the owner and was instructed to dry them with the towels. We sent the pictures for him to see. It was a horrible stay. We asked the owner for a partial refund, which was ignored. I will take this issue with booking.com upon my return.

• Siddhartha (6/5): Attractive property with good value - just be clear on what you are signing up for. - Great view from wonderful deck in front, clean, well-maintained, pictures are accurate in showing attractive decor and overall modern design. Main bedroom in loft is very spacious, the second bedroom downstairs is comfortable and clean, and the furniture (including outdoor furniture) is comfortable and in good condition. Be aware the location is on a road that gets pretty significant use at all hours. The name wind house is appropriate but understates the sound of the wind that was present throughout our stay unfortunately including through the night causing banging between the steel roof and underlying framing. Dog fights outside adjacent to the property woke us up in the middle of the night both nights. We had a particular situation of 5 people with use of the pull-out sofa in the living room - since there are no window coverings, that person will rise with the sun whether they want to or not and since we were in the unit towards the road, the folks staying in the adjacent unit walk by the windows (no window coverings) by necessity in getting to the parking area. Though the split bath was functional and the shower room was quite spacious (with good water pressure and hot water), the bathroom sink associated with the WC is a corner one and so small that it is practically useless. Not unusual in Costa Rica to ask that toilet paper not be flushed down the toilet (as was the case here) but then the trash in the bathroom benefits from being emptied on a daily basis (minimum) and there should be an arrangement to do that which was absent in this case where we rented for more than 1 night (fine to ask the renters to take care of that themselves).

Comfy beds, loads of space in the lounge area and huge decking with incredible views. Location was great, short drive into town and the activities. Loves the vibe in Monteverde, will definitely be back.

• Andrea (10/5): This was truly one of the most special and memorable properties we’ve ever stayed in! - Wow! This place was truly magical - from the incredible view and location close to town (yet secluded) to the thoughtful amenities and jacuzzi tub in the loft bedroom, we loved everything about it. I even loved hearing the howling wind from the mountain. It far exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back for a longer stay! I can’t think of anything it was lacking except maybe some cream for my coffee. ;-)

• Dilip (5/5): Beautiful views and modern design, but with shortfalls to be aware of - The home is beautifully designed and the view is amazing! There was a lot of noise the first night from dogs barking throughout the night. There are no dogs on the property but I suspect there are some in the adjacent homes or they could be stray dogs. The second night was also noisy due to high winds (maybe that's why it's called Wind House). The place gets quite warm in the afternoon and the only way to cool the place is to open the windows/door. The problem is there are no screens and a lot of bugs come in once you open the windows/door. Air-conditioning would have been nice but I knew it didn't have that when I rented the place. One other annoying aspect is the bathroom sink is too small. Given the size of the home, the bathroom counter could have been bigger and a regular size sink should have been installed.

Sound of Everything that hits the metal roof and metal siding travels to the upper bed room. First night, I couldn't sleep because of loud bike noise, someone having a really loud conversation just outside the building, and then the rain hitting the metal roof.

• Pia (3/5): Not recommended - The view - though only the right one has the nice view. It looked nice but everything kind of need a renovation. Also chairs and sofa was very uncomfortable. Though the worst thing was. The wind was so strong that it felt like the roof is going to blow away. It was so loud we couldn’t sleep at all. The glass was shaking and you felt it’s going to burst every minute. Therefore we left a day earlier

The bedroom did not have a closet or storage for hanging clothes. Unfortunately, we experienced really strong winds while staying at this property and realized it named Wind Houses.
