Guest Reviews
- ghieV (7/5): - Free pool.. The sofa bed was not good.
- Jean-jacques (5/5): - L’emplacement
- Jodi (7/5): Anzac getaway - Location
Early check in
Facilities Air con in bedroom was very dirty and very noisy
Both air con filters were very dusty
Both fold out beds were very uncomfortable
- Davince.tuta (10/5): -
- Margaret (8/5): Location is wonderful, access to public transport is great - Exhaust fan in bathroom wasn't working
The rug on the floor in need of cleaning
- Imogen (10/5): -
- Katrina (9/5): Best priced accomodation in Sydney - Love the unit and the location The pull out couch need replacing, and take earbuds as it noisy
- Pauline (8/5): Bien placé et confortable ! - L’emplacement au top, l’appartement très bien, le petit plus la piscine et le spa Le canapé lit (lit d’appoint)
- Jadine (6/5): Good location to explore Sydney. - The location was brilliant, staff on reception were nice and friendly. Cockroach in the bathroom and in the cupboard, didn’t feel the most clean.
- minjoo (8/5): -
- carlos (8/5): - La cercanía al centro El sofá cama es bastante incómodo
- Brendan (7/5): - Excellent location, good value for money Some other reviews complained about loud traffic - for us it was loud water pipes at night. If you want to use the pool bring an extra towel because Oaks Plaza won't give you towels as it's a private apartment (towels were provided, we just needed extras for the pool). If you want to store your luggage before or after your stay you'll have to use a luggage storage app then take it to a nearby location rather than use Oaks Plaza who we were told no longer allow luggage storage for private apartments - this cost a little extra in money and time but we had no issue. Overall this accommodation was fine, I would recommend it, and the availability of the sofa bed was a cheaper alternative for us then booking a 2 room apartment for our family.
- Feldman (7/5): Overall good - Location fantastic. Size of apartment perfect.
Fold out beds were lacking in comfort as the spring mattress was old which also meant the lounge suit was not comfortable to sit on. Lounge suite quite old. Linen ok. Beds that lack good mattress support.
Had to be out of apartment before 9 am on check out as power was off from 9 am. We’re not told this by message got a note under the door.
- Dianne (5/5): Had to pay for another room not suitable for 4 adults sleeping - The location Sofa bed was too uncomfortable not suitable for two adults sleeping . The apartment was not clean and very very noisy
- Martin (7/5): -
- Cosmin (5/5): Location and view don't make up for the high level of noise and uncomfortable sofa - Awesome location and view Very poor isolation, despite the 15th floor a lot of noise from the street.
There were works in the building, just outside the apartment, starting each day before 8am...
No baggage storage facility despite a reception on the ground floor
- Chun (6/5): Great location but need some renew - The location is easily access and few minutes walk to restaurants and supermarket. It alittle outdated and do need some up keeping.
- Caroline (3/5): Disappointed - Location was good I was expecting it to be part of a hotel chain and it wasn't. Which when unprepared makes it difficult when you need things like soap and toilet paper.
I was expecting a self-contained apartment, however it did not have a dryer.
- Krystyna (8/5): Not quite fabulous - Comfortable bed. Good facilities kitchen, bathroom etc . fabulous views. The small balcony door is hard to close. I am elderly and it took quite a bit of ingenuity and strength to close it. Bedroom window full of cobwebs and dirt between double glazing. Lack of information about supplies. Coffee etc.and a rather threatening attitude about cleaning........ serviced apt ? The air conditioner in the living room is not working. Winter is coming - so the whole place is cold!!
- Peter (10/5): Happy travellers - Comfortable, clean close to everything in the city . All the sirens 🚨
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - Location location location and view from rooftop pool and balconies
- Amanda (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great. Great view from the balcony. Yes you can hear some street noise but that's what you get in the middle of the city. Bus stops and train station very close by. Requested extra towels from the hosts and delivered very quickly. IGA and Aldi very close. The apartment is on the top floor. For the first 3 days there was a horrendous constant loud noise (like a generator) which we found out was coming from the plant room on the roof (directly above the apartment). Fortunately on day 3 the noise stopped. The a/c in the bedroom is old and very noisy. I recommend bringing ear plugs. The kitchen could do with a few more cooking utensils (quite a few of them were broken). The TV wouldn't connect to the wifi so Netflix etc didn't work. The wifi reception was poor.
- Annette (9/5): Great place, would definitely return 👍🏻 - Great location and amenities Nothing we didn’t like. The sofa bed seemed to have been previously put away incorrectly and this deformed the pull-out frame, so we struggled to get it out, and were worried about causing further damage, however I got straight through to someone on the phone who was reassuring, and we did manage to get it out in the end.
- Heddy (9/5): Superb - Location was great. Train station minutes away. Looking out onto thr park was superb.
- Caroline (8/5): Good for a short stay in Sydney - Good location, access to rooftop jacuzzi. Check out list was extensive (take out garbage, everything had to be cleaned and put away in kitchen, sofa beds closed). Also, when we arrived, sofa beds had no linens, there weren’t enough towels so we had to wait a bit to get those items.
- Kellie (4/5): Disappointing -
- Katrina (9/5): Best Location. Convenient and beautiful. - Location is just brilliant. Abd having the pool and gym too was so good Only 2 towels and no face clothes. And there was only two rolls of toilet paper. Had to keep drying and reusing the towels under the heat pump
- Helen (8/5): Great central place to stay! - The location is great! The apartment was clean and ready for us when we arrived and we were given an early checkin which was really appreciated The single sofa bed wasn't at all comfortable but large sofa was good!
Many have commented on the noise and yes we did hear people in the corridor at times and the traffic but Sydney is a busy place! If you are a light sleeper l suggest you bring ear plugs wherever you stay in Sydney! 😀
- Aleysha (7/5): very nice spacious apartment, kitchen well fitted out, good tv, comfortable bed nice expansive views - n/a Late night noise , banging, drilling within the apartment complex, we could not locate the source, although it sounded like it came from above. noise stopped around 11pm.
- David (9/5): Superb - In an excellent location. Easy walking distance to Circular Quay and a train station a stone's throw away for when the walk back up the hill is too much! Plenty of supermarkets and bottle shops near by so never had to carry the "essentials" too far. I'd read that luggage storage isn't always an option (it's a private apartment in a resort, and the resort owners prioritise their own guests) but after contacting the host, they arranged for storage to be available on the departure day. After a couple of weeks of travelling it was nice to have more space than just a bedroom, and we had a very comfortable stay. It was a little noisy. You could hear traffic noise from the road below, and occasionally people in the corridor outside the apartment. But that certainly wouldn't put me off staying again. And we live in quite a rural setting, so city-centre Sydney is always going to be a bit louder than what we're used to. It didn't stop us getting a sound night's sleep on any night of our stay though!
- Peta (9/5): Superb -
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location. Perfect for our group of 4. Very easy check in and out process. Thoroughly recommend.
- Dalia (8/5): Very nice place for a short visit. - Very nice and clean. Good customer service.
Fantastic pool and jacuzzi. Beautiful view from the flat.
The property is close to the train station and few minutes walk from restaurants and pubs You can hear people and cars in the street on the weekends.
The lift was noisy at night.
- Steven (8/5): Great place for a couple of nights exploring Sydney - Great location and brilliant view from the property. Swimming pool was a real bonus and again with great views. It’s a bit noisy from the road and the lift but didn’t affect our sleep. Two sofa beds for the kids which was great but maybe a bit uncomfortable.
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heidi (9/5): Superb - The location was great. The view is awesome. Spa and pool are a bonus. Double bed was comfy. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable.
- Jax (1/5): Don't recommend - Terrible facilities and host not contactable. Scammed for parking. Poorly maintained. Linen and Manchester threadbare. One coffee cup in the kitchen. Inadequate toiletries and tea making provisions. Neither clean nor comfortable.
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Carina (10/5): Fabulous View, amazing location, clean comfortable apartment. - Very comfortable and very clean apartment! Washing machine and dishwasher with detergents provided which I found great.
Location is perfect with only 2 minute walk to Museum train station which takes you directly to Sydney Harbour Bridge.
I would highly recommend this apartment. None
- Isabella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sobhan (9/5): Superb -
- Morro (10/5): Wonderful memory in this place - Location The inconveniences of not being able to leave my suitcase after check out at the counter. Please be very careful arrange your travel schedule after checking out.
- Catherine (8/5): Enjoyable - Location & having a balcony
- Dorothy (6/5): Pleasant - the apartment doesn’t match up with the photos
- Dennae (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect! So many beautiful restaurants and shopping. Close to the train station. The internet wasn't great and we had trouble connecting
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional - The location is amazing and the pool is stunning! I found the bed a little firm and was sore from it in the morning.
- Anne (8/5): Amazing views, really clean and comfortable. Bonus was the rooftop swimming pool which was terrific. - The views, really clean and comfortable.
Location is good, great access to transport.
Having access to the swimming pool was really good in the January heat. Not the property owners issue, but the smell in the entrance foyer was terrible.
- Narelle (8/5): Overall we had lovely stay in Sydney & we would certainly stay there again. Now we know where it is. - Excellent location.. close to train station. 10 minutes walk to city centre. 15 min walk to Darling Harbour.. and 20 min to Opera House. Lot of eateries close by. Felt safe walking around Was pretty hot while we were there, and AC was struggling in both bedroom and lounge. Had it on 17 and it was only 'just cool'. Was only a minor inconvenience.
Wasn't aware that the room was a privately owned apartment in the Oaks Hotel building. Somebody could have told us that to collect our keys at The Oaks Hotel reception. We walked around around for 15 mins with suitcases looking for the place even though our GPS had told us we had arrived. It was only when we enquired at Oaks Reception that we were given our keys and the mystery was solved.
A little bit more information would have been better.
- Kimberley (8/5): Amazing night skyline views over Hyde park. Spacious, clean amd comfortable. - Loved it all. Proximity to the city, spacious apartment, rooftop pool We didn’t know it was a private residence and thought it a hotel/apartment when booking. So the reception would not take our luggage to mind before checkin. It was clear she gets asked daily for it as she was annoyed. We had to hire lockers a few blocks away to store the luggage. Maybe guests could pay a fee for this service to the hotel and it advertised on your booking.com Ad.
- Lachlan (9/5): Superb - Location to the city
Facilities at apartment Sofa uncomfortable.
- Michael (7/5): Good - Clean , location, had all we needed Hard to communicate with owners
- Gita (8/5): Very good -
- Van (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Excellent apartment with friendly staff - I liked how it was nice and tidy, lovely bathroom, nice views and easy access to shops/food/bars Not enough toilet paper
- Xiaomeng (7/5): Good -
- Julia (9/5): Best views!!! - The views are spectacular!!
The owner is very kind and answered all of our questions via the app messaging.
The apartment is big and suit us very well throughout our stay.
Location is very central and near everything, plenty of options at walkable distances or via public transportation. Because this is a private apartment on a building that has a hotel, I didn't have the best experience when it comes to the hotel staff. They were very resistant in storing our bags, even though the owner of the apartment co-ordinated and let them know with days of notice we'd be coming and needing to leave the bags for few hours.
We had to use the sofa-bed as the second bed, but the living room doesn't have the same noise protection as the bedroom, so you can hear all the noise coming from the street. If you are a light sleeper and noise sensitive is something to be aware of. It was not a deal breaker, and we had the best time, is more something to be aware. I would definitely stay there again.
- Ian (10/5): Escape from Rocky. - Just a short walk down the corridor to the rooftop pool area.
Cracking views over Hyde Park.
2 min walk from Museum station.
Quite spacious for a 1bed apartment.
Google Best breakfast's Sydney, there are 2 within a few hundred metres, both were delicious. Sofa bed was a little uncomfy, but, hey, that's a minor detail.
- Elissa (1/5): Horrible nightmare - It was so dirty no linen no swimming pool as it was green mould everywhere smells like pee Some one walked in to our unit while I was a sleep tried to found somewhere else to stay couldn’t will be reporting
- Amy (3/5): Poor -
- Benjamin (8/5): Very good -
- Am (10/5): A Billion Dollar View - Fantastic location on the 15th floor of the building facing Hyde Park, the Sydney version of the NYC Central Park, a huge balcony and another smaller balcony with the views that just can't be described - the best views we ever had from a hotel or an apartment in our lives. Please see our photos attached. A very large and comfortable apartment. If the owner suddenly offered us to buy it for a price that we could afford, we would buy it and spend the rest of our lives there.
- Chloe (6/5): Excellent location and views - The location and the views and the size of the apartment The bed was hard, the aircon in the bedroom was old and loud
- Hardy (1/5): Nightmare in Sydney - Unable to leave feedback as room was not safe for us to stay in as door did not lock. Had to leave and find ourselves alternative accomodation in middle of the night. No one helped us with this.
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (5/5): Needs to do a better clean of the apartment - I liked the location and the roof top pool. The bathroom was not cleaned sufficiently. There was a dirty toenail on the towel rack and a used sanitary towel stuck to the inside of the lid of the bin. The toilet was not flushed when we arrived. I sent some photos to the host and he replied to the toe nail incident but nothing else.
- Jodi (8/5): City Getaway - Lovely Apartment
Incredible view of Hyde park and the City
Fantastic facilities
Perfect location Couldnt access any streaming on the smart TV
- Anonymous (7/5): good location - Great Location, easy to walk around, nice pool and spa with amazing views, on-site parking available through the hotel the apartment is located at. Stayed for 3 nights, only given 1 towel per person for the stay, which was a little annoying, aswell as the lack of toilet paper
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant location Nothing
- Brudder_a (9/5): Great stay in Sydney. - The location was excellent for the our needs in Sydney. We couldn't hook up the Smart TV to the internet. In our Oaks apartment we could do that but maybe there are other issues involved with this.
- Xiaojun (9/5): Superb -
- Tiffany (9/5): My teen kids loved it - Location location location! Love the two sofa beds came in handy for 2 kids, the washing machine in room. 24/7 store at lobby, train station across the road so location is perfect! Not enough toilet paper was supplied, smart tv would be ideal. Didn't realise staff wouldn't hold luggage as your room is not part of hotel
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (7/5): Good - It was close to everything.
View was great (15th floor).
Kids loved the pool and the spa and the view from it.
Bed was comfy. Abit small for a family of 4.
Workmen were renovating another room, which we were not informed of. So it was noisy through the day, especially being woken up by tools.
Television was broken (obviously previous people) went 2 days no Television, a bit boring when you can't watch TV late at night or early morning.
- Samantha (8/5): Great value, location and views. - I would highly recommend this apartment. We loved the location and facilities.
We were traveling as a family, all older.
The views, facilities all ticked the box. Our room was on the same floor as the pool which was great.
Amazing views and around the corner from the train station. Nothing, but pre-book for your luggage to be kept behind the counter if you need to. The staff weren't the owners of our particular room. The owners were helpful and got it arranged for us.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (9/5): perfect location comfy apartment lovely pool and jacuzzi - roomy clean and well equipped
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alejo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ankur (10/5): Exceptional - Clean place newly renovated so everything is fresh and sparkling
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (9/5): excellent value and had awesome views - great view , good price the blankets for the pull outs
- Nicholas (7/5): value for money and location is amazing - The location was amazing and the view is spectacular. The place can use a bit of updating especially the bathroom.
- Sharlene (4/5): Great location needs a deep clean - Location was perfect for our needs.
Bed was comfortable.
Kitchen facilities were good.
Checking in was easy. Airconditioners need good service and cleaning, I cleaned the filters as they were so blocked and covered with mould but they were still blowing musty smell in lounge and in bedroom blowing stuff on floor, as you cannot open windows at night the airconditioners are needed for stuffiness during the night, I am aware Sydney is a damp city but this is something that can be dealt with if done regularly, my daughter and I have come away feeling not well. Carpets also need a good clean as they smell.
- Bev (8/5): We would book again if these issues were remedied. 4/5 - Location was perfect for us. Access to the spa and pool was great. The sheets were clean and sufficient for the sofa beds. The apartment is very tired. The carpet is threadbare, a chair was broken, a light needed a bulb replacing. The bathroom is in poor condition, although serviceable. There was mould on the tiles and the rear of the toilet looked like it had been forgotten in the last clean. The spare pillows were yellow so we didn’t use them.
- Peter (4/5): Great location but without a working kitchen dining out doubled our expenses. - The location is central and perfect - the view over the park is amazing. The bed was comfortable. The pool area is really beautiful. We predominantly chose this apartment based on the fact that it had a self-contained kitchen and wanted to save food rather than eat out every meal. Unfortunately, after going to the nearby Coles and stocking up for our stay we discovered that the oven and stove top does not work at all. Needless to say there was quite a bit of food that we had to throw out at the end of our stay. I contacted the property owner but never got a reply.
- Rajanikanta (7/5): Good -
- Ruchi (10/5): it was a great place to take a city tour by public transport and to attraction places - everything is perfect just one thing was TV. It’s a old one and it would be perfect if it has networking support like Netflix
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
