Guest Reviews
- Tegan (3/5): Should have gone camping - Our stay was very disappointing, as the tiny home wasn’t clean on arrival — floors were dirty, there were cobwebs in the bathroom, and some dishes had been put away unwashed. Several basic amenities weren’t properly maintained - the cassette toilet was full within a day and emitted a strong odour even after being emptied, and the water from the taps and shower was orange, rusty, and unsuitable for use.
The kitchen area was cluttered and not well-equipped for cooking, and the outdoor “BBQ area” was basic and uninviting. With mosquitoes outside and limited ventilation inside, it wasn’t comfortable to relax or dine. There were no miniature donkeys as advertised, which was one of our reasons for choosing this location.
While the host was responsive and polite with the couple of issues with the toilet, the overall experience felt more like camping than comfortable accommodation, which was upsetting especially given the cost and added cleaning fee for maintenance of the cassette toilet.
- Sharni (8/5): quiet, calming - I liked that it was sectioned off from the main house, as well as the beautiful trees being right outside our window for a great views The toilet not being flushable wasn’t the greatest, but still managed to do the job
- Kym (9/5): Superb -
- Zogar (7/5): Good -
- Agapi (3/5): C - Convenient location, surrounding property was beautiful House was not clean at all, dirty/used towels and linen, awful odour, mold in fridge and dirty appliances.
- Rohan (1/5): Not great - Hi there,
I’ve just checked out of the Skye High property I booked for last night through Booking.com. Unfortunately the property and my stay was completely unsatisfactory, and I would like to request a refund on the amount I paid for this one night stay.
When booking, I selected the “Book Now, Pay Later” option on your website. I was then contacted an hour after to ask for payment, which I’ve never experienced before. The person on the phone was extremely condescending when we explained we would pay the next day (said they could “entertain” my booking, we have texts to confirm this).
I was then incessantly contacted during the week prior to my stay about the check in time, when Booking.com and the booking confirmation both clearly state 2pm, and as such I selected my check in time as 2pm. I still continued to confirm the 2pm check in time when asked, but was then asked to contact the host again to confirm this on check in day.
Upon arrival, there was faeces from multiple animals completely covering the grass around the cabin.
The power and water was not connected, and there were no instructions left on how to do this. Luckily I could figure it out on my own.
The cabin was not clean on arrival - dirty floor, debris in shower and dirty tea towels stuffed in kitchen drawers.
There was dirty used toilet paper sitting in the top of toilet - not flushed, smells, toilet doesn’t look clean. I’ve provided a photo of the toilet here. The toilet, a drop toilet, also hadn’t been emptied and filled the cabin with a putrid smell each time we urinated. As a result, we tried not to use the toilet as much as possible. I have used construction site portaloos, and festival portaloos, that functioned better and were better maintained.
No clean drinking water was available at the property and only 2x 300ml bottles of water were provided. There is nothing on the Booking.com website that indicates the need for us to bring clean drinking water.
- Jack (8/5): Beautiful little stay, definitely recommend - Amazing hosts and a beautiful little spot to have a nice night in!
The hosts are amazing people and made the stay as comfortable as possible Had to clean a little bit myself when I arrived (sweeping and such) but for a place on a farm it is expected to happen at points
