Guest Reviews
- Jamal (8/5): Quite , relaxing facility best for stress release - Spacious room furnished with all facilities .
Receptive , caring and efficient staff .
Hope they can add a fence to the villa to enhance the occupancies privacy .
- Tagreed (10/5): - The swimming pool was lovely and so was the view. Althought the title "one bedroom villa" was misguiding. It is a room with a swimming pool. we thought a villa would at least have a separate room and a mini kitchen.
- Sanjay (10/5): A blissful weekend - It was truly an amazing stay, would always opt for this resort to any other resort any tym . We were celebrating our wedding anniversary , and we realized we had made the best choice ever!
- Ali (10/5): Very nice villa - One of my favorite holidays. I really enjoyed it.
- Stefan (4/5): Over priced and food is pretty bad - I would not recommend this hotel. It is unclean and the food is quite bad.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - food was great, service was good, room was nice but i expected more from a 5 star hotel
- George (10/5): Overnight getaway - Wanted something easy to reach from Dubai but out of the city and luxurious and this fitted the bill well. A little more effort could be made with road signage though as we overshot and had to call for directions. Very much enjoyed our stay; massage, dinner and breakfast all first rate. It was a little windy but not much the hotel can do about that.
- Neal (10/5): Great Hotel - ultimate luxury - I went on a short trip to RAK from Dubai and this place just stood out when booking. It is really badly signposted when you are trying to find it, but once you do, thats it, you are in heaven!
I have been to RAK once previously and didn't really like it, but Banyan Tree has changed my perception.
When you arrive you have to get a short boat ride over to the resort. The welcome and check in in pleasant and swift. Every villa has its own pool and basically everything you could ever need from a hotel of this standing. The beds are comfortable, wi-fi is free, the pool is warm, everything is pretty much perfect.
The restaurant has some good dishes and the staff here are pleasant too. They are always looking after you. We took a transfer to the other Banyan Tree hotel, Al Wadi, that is located half an hour away to see the Owl and Falcon show. The show is really good, but in my opinion the hotel is not as good as the Banyan Tree RAK beach. Overall, it's an amazing hotel, great for a luxury get away where all you want to do is relax! Enjoy!
- serhat (8/5): Unwind at the beach - Amazing location. Not as private as the wadi facility.
- Abdullah (10/5): Must try - its a very cosy hotel with a private villa and private pool , very friendly staff and good food
- Monther (8/5): Nice but no privecy - I liked the hotel somehow but I thought it would be more private than what I found as its open to everybody to see you while you are swimming in your private pool which made it to me not private at all.
- Trevor (8/5): Very quiet villas in tranquil setting. - We booked the hotel for a quiet rest and it met all our expedations
- SULAIMAN (10/5): Best Resort in UAE - Great ambience
Fantastic service
Best resort in UAE
- Paul (10/5): Still Excellent - We returned after one year and the entire experience was up to the same high standard.
They have introduced the "BBQ" evening which takes place on the small island close by (only in the cooler months I believe) and this is an excellent addition.
We are however worried they may be about to spoil one of the major attractions of this place by erecting 'privacy' barriers between each villa. This place is a beautifully designed "visual feast" but now that two of these barriers have been erected (without consideration for the visual impact in my opinion) I can see the entire 'look' changing drastically. I fear next time we come it may look like a budget caravan park which will take it off our return list.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful weekend escape from Dubai - Fantastic from start to finish. Luxurious, secluded, peaceful and incredibly beautiful villas with private pools and decks. Couldn't fault it and would love to return one day.
- Hashim (4/5): - There us nothing to do at all. Except the pool in thr room. And others activities are in the other hotel and uts nit free even for hotel guests. At the same price atlantes had given me a room with a free lunch. Dinner in 15 restaurants. Free access to the water park and aquarium. For me and for my family if two adults and two children. Its just not worth it it was soooooo boring
- Verified traveler (10/5): very good - Everything was perfect except the breakfast
- Yasmine (10/5): - Amazing and just Lovely! Go for it!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There are a lot of mosquitoes. Just a suggestion - have an indoor bath tub. TV channels need to improve.
- David (8/5): Glamping on a private island - The Resort sits on a private island of white sand, just a short boat ride from the car park onshore. Accommodation is by way of "glamour tents", part rigid wall and part tent roof. A large King-size bed with living area and generous bathroom opens directly onto a private deck with sunbed and plunge pool. Villas are separated only by a brick wall, and a degree of respect for your neighbour's privacy is important - but it all looks and feels decadent enough to be worth the money.
Anything sitting by the sea under open skies is going to suffer from the effects of exposure eventually - and this hotel is no different. Some of the tent roof fabric has seen better days; and the sunbathing furniture is bleaching under the (almost) relentless sunshine. But everything works - and if it stops working, a team will appear within minutes of calling Reception in order to fix it.
If it rains, two things become rapidly obvious. The first is that, once deprived of the charming covered tables located outside facing the sea, the restaurant struggles in vain to cope: the interior restaurant space is tiny and not an attractive space - damp customers have to be ferried under umbrellas across to the Bar (also not an attractive space) in order to be fed, eventually. The second is that - if the sun does disappear - in the absence of a good book there is absolutely nothing on the island which can keep you entertained.
