Guest Reviews
- Denise (10/5): Cosy Mudgee cottage - The cottage was warm & cosy with everything we needed. Beryl was very responsive to our needs. The fire was a bonus and we used it every evening. Airconditioning helped on the mornings.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage. It was in easy walking distance of everything. Nothing
- Richard (8/5): -
- Peter (10/5): - Walking distance to everything & a clean place with nothing to want for.
- Jan (10/5): -
- Larry (9/5): Old world charm and modern facilities - Comfortable and easy to access
Everything You Need was provided Nothing
- Belinda (10/5): -
- Walker (9/5): A great house in Mudgee - Great position, very clean, lovely touches with the fruit toast, cheese and biscuits and juices.
We parked our bikes out the back, which was really good to get them off the street. Nothing.
- Aletta (10/5): Love our short stay! Had everything we wanted. - The cottage feel and high ceilings! Welcome foodies, milk and breakfast. Would have loved 2 bathrooms.
- Michele (9/5): Beautiful, comfortable and welcoming house well located close to the town centre. We will definitely come again! - The house was so comfortable and welcoming - tastefully decorated and unexpected welcoming touches such as breakfast supplies provided as well as other snacks. Also very well equipped kitchen. The only thing that spoiled an absolutely fabulous stay was the cleaner standing out the front 10 minutes before check out time staring at us as we packed our things into the car as though we should have been gone already.

- Ann (8/5): -
- Wayne (10/5): Excellent cottage close to town. Has all amenities - Everything was great
- Leigh Ellen (9/5): Warm and comfortable cottage - We had a wonderful stay in this lovely comfortable cottage. It has a heritage feel (love the high pressed ceilings, timber floors and original fireplace) with modern convenience (GREAT kitchen and dining area). The location is an easy stroll to shops and food options, and it’s central for vineyards in the region. Beryl went out of her way to ensure we felt welcomed and enjoyed a comfortable stay.
- Tom (10/5): -
- Alackakkunnel (8/5): Overall, it was good but not excellent and not up to the value of the money we paid. - The breakfast wasn't continental as it was mentioned/advertised. It was a simple breakfast and and we had to buy extra things for the breakfast. If it is a continental breakfast there should have more items and not with snacks.
We also didn't like air conditioning system. There was no air condition in the rooms and no fan in the dining room.
The water flow from the shower isn't good.
- Carrie (8/5): - It was a beautiful cottage in a great location. Nothing.
- James (9/5): - The property was really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Location was fantastic, close to everything. Could benefit from a few lamps in the lounge room but otherwise it’s perfect.
- Henry (9/5): Delightful convenient and located well - Well appointed and provisioned
- Maureen (9/5): Mera Cottage is a cosy, beautifully equipped cottage in a great location. We had a wonderful stay. - Great breakfast provided

- Mary (9/5): Amazing Cottage, very relaxing, great location - The house was beautiful very clean and comfortable, fireplace amazing. The beds were very comfortable warm and cozy, and all the instructions were easy to follow. The cheese, crackers and breakfast provisions were generous, with a great selection of cereals, a loaf of raisin bread, plenty of milk, juice, coffee, tea, and butter, which was so well received and very appreciated. Location is fantastic - right near town and an easy walk to everything. We would love to stay at Merala Cottage again. Nothing
- josie (10/5): Very relaxing and homely - The fire was beautiful and the host leaves a great hamper . Kitchen stocked well with the essential basics Nothing complaints at all
- Sandy (10/5): Loved Metala. Well catered, Betyl out all facilities out for us, snacks and bread etc. - Renovation perfect, pretty Bathroom cold - brrrrrr

- Sam (10/5): Amazing quaint cottage, very clean and comfortable - The property was really well kept, and very clean. The beds were super comfortable, and the bedding was great quality which in turn kept us really warm on a cold night. The fireplace was a lovely touch for us, as we sat in the lounge room enjoying each others company in the warmth. The kitchen had all the bits and pieces we needed, and a lovely welcome hamper from the property owners was a great touch for breakfast, milk & snacks to keep everyone’s tummies happy. I loved this property, however the one thing that could have made it even more amazing would have just been to have somewhere to connect my music from my phone to. I personally love to sit with some soft tunes on - we weren’t there for long so this wasn’t an issue at all. If I stayed for longer though, I would have loved to have music to relax with. No marks lost though - I’ll absolutely return in a heartbeat.
- Julie (10/5): Great place to stay for a visit to Mudgee. Great Host. - The house was beautiful - clean, newly renovated, and very comfortable. The beds were warm and cozy, and all the instructions were easy to follow. There were so many thoughtful details that made us feel right at home. Breakfast provisions were generous, with a great selection of cereals, a loaf of raisin bread, plenty of milk, juice, coffee, tea, and butter, which was so convenient, plus a few treats and cheeses. The location is fantastic - right near town and an easy walk to everything. We’d happily stay here again. Everything was great. The keys were a little tricky to put back into the box but that's about it.
- Sioned (9/5): Cosy - Great location and very cosy cottage. The fire was particularly nice. Well stocked kitchen with basics supplied and breakfast.
- Tania (8/5): Comfortable stay. Great if travelling with pets. - Very well located. Breakfast & treats left for us were a nice touch. Fire was ready to light on arrival- very good in wintery Mudgee. Large Enclosed yard for our dog. Only one toilet, and it is located within the bathroom. Makes it a bit more uncomfortable when travelling with friends. Would be fine if you are a family.
- Matthew (10/5): Lovely home close to everything - Great location. Lovely wood fire with plenty of wood. (it got down to zero during our stay) also great reverse cycle air conditioning as a back up. Well equipped kitchen with every conceivable item you could need. Convenient off street parking. Nice big fully enclosed back yard for our dog to run around in. Would be an ideal sized house for a family to stay. Lighting was a bit harsh with bright cool white LED’s throughout, would be much nicer if they were switched to warm white for a warmer nicer ambiance. Linen quality was a little tired and we found hairs on the walls and a dirty window frame in the bathroom. Sadly the back garden was a little unkempt. Included breakfast was a little sparse and perhaps a little ungenerous. There was various items of opened packets of foods left from previous guests. The only condiments we could find was a 2/3 empty jar of Vegemite and a 1/4 full jar of jam. On a positive the coffee pod machine was well stocked with plenty of pods and there was a large variety of teas. We just felt at this price point the property should be immaculate.
- Kathryn (10/5): Lovely house, close to central Mudgee. - Merala was a very comfortable, cozy cottage that was generously stocked for a family. We had a lovely stay there while visiting Mudgee. It is also easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and cafes.
- Bart (9/5): Superb stay, will be back here for sure. - Facilities and provisions at the property on arrival were beyond expectations, nothing was left to chance. Cleanliness was spot on as you'd expect from a residence of it's standing.
Proximity to town centre, shopping and restaurants was fabulous. Shower could do with a larger exhaust fan and a better shower head.
Couldn't fault anything else really !!

The accommodation was impeccably clean, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. It was also well-stocked with everything we could possibly need, from kitchen essentials to extra linens and toiletries. The host was fantastic—communication was seamless, and they were always quick to respond and helpful with any questions. The location was perfect, and the entire experience was comfortable and stress-free. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone!
