Guest Reviews
- Mark (9/5): Great base to explore Arthur River. Wood fire and outdoor bath were great - Fireplace and outdoor bath were great.
- Marcus (9/5): Very well equipped shack in a good location. - Good sizes place with absolutely everything you need. There are a lot of extras here that most properties don't have. There is a takeaway place next door as well. The host also provided lots of good info prior to arrival. It is quite rustic but that is what you'd expect in such a remote area. There is no TV but seeing as it has good WiFi I'd just use an IPad.

- Denise (9/5): Very comfortable place to stay if you are going on the Arthur River Cruise. Can walk to the wharf. - Location was perfect for our trip on the Arthur River Cruise. Next door to a takeaway and shop but not open late. Very peaceful place. Shack had a very well equipped kitchen (husband is a chef and it got his approval). Comfy beds and nice bed linen. Great shower. Heads up for Kiwis - a shack is a bach.
- Randall (10/5): Book this cosy property today! - Everything about this cosy property was amazing! It was thoroughly clean, so toasty warm even without us lighting the fire inside. The bed was so comfortable, and the bath outside with the outdoor fire was just the icing on the cake! Wish we had the time to stay longer than the 2 nights just to relax and enjoy the serenity! Just book it, you will not be disappointed!! We will be back!! Nothing!

- Bob (9/5): We would like this kind of place everywhere - Rustic, fireplace, bbq, good beds, heaps of extras like coffee maker, coffee, utensils, and condiments, a great back patio. Shower took some fiddling

- Powell (9/5): A Beautiful Location - Salty's is a typical 'shack' but the location is stunning. The beach behind the shack is absolutely beautiful. It's about a 10 minute walk. The outdoor bath is beautiful even on a cold night. The shack itself is comfortable and big enough for a family of 4 and the dog and the kids loved it. Huge fridge with freezer and basic kitchen items. The location is pretty remote so bring everything you need with you and make sure you have a full tank of fuel. Absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. It's a great base for The Tarkine Drive. Tim is very responsive if you have any questions. Loved it all

- Ray (9/5): Great Place to stay whilst working -
- Ash (10/5): Cozy shack retreat! - Cozy little shack with all the mod cons for a comfortable stay. It was also more sheltered than beachfront locations which was great during crazy marine wind conditions! We were able to walk to the river to fish. The fireplace was the best and the outdoor tub was a luxurious touch. Lots of space to store our bikes too. Great spot to explore the area, such as the petroglyphs, Edge of the World and Tarkine Drive. It’s more of an us problem but one of us is very tall so the double bed felt a bit small and squashy but it’s suitable for the space.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - We absolutely loved our stay and we look forward to going back again it was beautiful
- Colin (9/5): Superb - Such a great spot, we stayed for the arthur river cruise and is perfectly located for it. Short drive (~15mins) to a nearby inn with good food when not self catering. Loved the outdoor bath, great to relax after a day out. In all, fabulous time had by 4 of us.
- Ron (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Dog friendly Next to main road
- Joel (9/5): Very comfortable stay. - We stayed three nights in this very comfortable, neatly presented coastal shack that is walking distance to river and beach. It has all the amenities one would need for a longer stay (full kitchen, laundry, bbq etc). Loved the outdoor shower.
- Carolyn (5/5): Have experienced much better elsewhere. - Those "little extras", were not presented. Seems to be a place where the owner has not gone the extra mile to provide for those extra needs. Cold and poorly appointed. The name implies a beach residence, it is not.
- Peter (6/5): It suited our needs. A very convenient place to stay - The fire place and proximity to kiosk and cruise boat The kitchen cupboards need an upgrade.
- Remco (9/5): Spacious and well equipped. - Spacious and well equipped: a lot of rooms, the BBQ area is very nice, certainly in a power outage situation. Washing machine incl. detergent was present. Even a USB-C charger was present in the master bedroom. More towels would be helpful: you can wash and dry one set, and use another. As we were with 2, this was not an issue for us but if all beds are occupied, 4 towels is not enough.
- Vince (9/5): Very nice and impressive cottage a real shame about the location - Comfortable old style cottage with charm. Very compact and clean and tidy and the beds and bedding were very comfortable and super warm at night. A real shame about the location situated on the main thoroughfare with a constant stream of visitors to the National Parks office directly opposite and large noisy gravel tracks rumbling past to and fro
- Ray (7/5): Relaxed and comfortable and enjoyed the area. - It is a shack. It was comfortable and clean. The bedrooms are tiny and the shower basic, but plenty of hot water. Some supplies were not provided like coffee but that may have been an oversight. It was in a great location and easy to find. A few basic things were not catered for, as mentioned coffee was missing, tools to clean the BBQ were not available, drinking glasses (wine glasses only) were not provided.
- Penelope (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabrielle (10/5): Cosy home! - Loved how cosy the place was and that they had games and a puzzle for us to do even though we only stayed one night! Also loved that we got to make a fire to warm up the place. I would 100% stay again. Unsure!
- David (8/5): Very good - Nice location. Good venue.
- Joanne (10/5): Had a lovely stay. Bed was very comfortable. Great location for driving the Tarkine. - I liked that it was quiet. Had everything you need.
- Cyril (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed in this accommodation for work. It is the third time I stayed there, it is cozy and Tim has great communication and is responding to recommendations. I will be back!
- Michael (7/5): Convenient and comfortable place to stay - Convenient location N/A
- Louise (9/5): Superb - Location was great. A comfortable, cosy home. Only heating was a fire and maybe could have had a back up heater. Needs a proper back door as was a bit drafty with only the sliding door
