Guest Reviews
- Jeanette (10/5): - We liked that the house was clean and we were very happy how it was local to everything . We didnt like that people were waiting for us to arrive as someone informed others to exspect us ?.
- raoul (7/5): -
- Glynis (10/5): Great - Quiet comfortable Nothing
- Debbie (9/5): Very comfortable, quiet location, will stay again. - Great location, darkness, quiet, off street parking. Could not get TV channels to work, 2 of us tried everything including phoning a friend.
There was no Tea (normal English Breakfast, bags or leaves, these needed replenishing). Also individual butter packets would be good, to have with the provided bread.
- Cheryl (8/5): As an older couple looking for a quiet stay we felt fortunate not to have a family staying in the larger house on the pr - The dog next door
- Dieder (10/5): Lovely cottage and caretaker (Maxine) was kind and helpful. - Easy walk to town, roomy, comfortable beds, clean and tidy. Nothing
- Frank (9/5): - Very clean, had everything you need
- Vanessa (9/5): Perfect -

- Anne (7/5): Dog friendly and comfortable - It was comfortable and an easy dog friendly stop on our way to Adelaide .
- Pamela (9/5): Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. - In a terrific location, wonderfully close to the heart of town and within walking distance of many galleries, shops, cafes, restaurants. The cottage was very comfortable, well presented and with just about everything one needs for holiday cooking and relaxing. Nothing not to like…..great little holiday ‘home’.
- Robert (9/5): -
- Evelyn (8/5): Comfortable once we sprayed and enjoyable. - Comfortable, clean, nice layout, well appointed. The cockroaches and the difficulty to open kitchen drawers.
- Paul (8/5): - Well set up with everything you need There were no tea bags. Milk had been opened
- John (9/5): Good location that made the visit better - Location was great and walking distance to town.
House was in really good condition and had everything we needed.
- Moira (10/5): -
- Cath (8/5): A good easy stay. - Property was good and clean and central. Hot day but it was cool when we arrived. Thank you.
- garry (8/5): Comfortable older cottage close to town. - Quiet renovated cottage walking distance to town and shops.
- Morgan (10/5): Great Cottage, will definitely seek it out to stay again if we are ever in the Ridge - Lavender Cottage was a cute little space and was perfect for what we needed. We comfortably slept our family and extra requests where no hassle. Parking was easy, close to town. Very quiet over night. While we took our own food it was a nice touch having a fresh loaf of bread on the bench and some milk in the fridge. Small things, but a big appreciation. Especially with little kids!
- Julie (10/5): -
- Penny (10/5): -
- Susi (7/5): Lovely - Lovely little place Bit of a hike to the bowling club
- Frank (10/5): Our stay was absolutely perfect – comfortable, charming and beyond our expectations. - We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage. It was extremely comfortable, equipped with quality appliances and thoughtfully appointed throughout. The accommodation is truly beautiful and full of character, making it a real treasure in this regional town. A delightful and memorable place to stay……..highly recommended. Honestly, there was nothing we didn’t like – the cottage ticked all the boxes and even exceeded our expectations. Every detail was so well thought out, making our stay truly enjoyable.
- Tania (8/5): - Comfortable and cosy All 4 of us felt like we were being watched when we were sitting out the front. We did take some chairs from inside the cottage as there was only 2 seats available. I then got an email to return any shifted furniture back to original position. Just made us all feel like we we're under constant supervision. Not a nice feeling when we paid to stay there. And yes we were aware you had a camera at front door and driveway, just didn't think we would be watched.
Otherwise a lovely place.
- Bremer (10/5): -
- marion (7/5): Fix the doors so your tenants can get in - The property is close to town fully equipped kitchen plenty of staples coffee milk pancake mix the caretaker Maxine was very supportive The front door worked once then nobody could open it had to call Maxine because the back door was broken this must have been a regular occurrence, just fix it as it spoiled our time sitting arround
- Michelle (9/5): Very comfortable home away from home - Breakfast supplies provided were very good. Comfortable and homely feel to the cottage made our stay very enjoyable. We only stayed 3 nights and so did not use the kitchen other than for breakfast and coffee. The Nespresso machine was much appreciated as we love our coffee TV did not work initially however upon contacting the host they were very quick to respond and assist us in resolving the issue
- Way (6/5): - Easy access, well equipped kitchen, cleanliness Property was hard to find on a dark wet night - sign would help.
The aircon in the sitting room was very noisy
- Renae (8/5): - Comfy chairs out the front. Pet friendly and nice little yard for them to use, separate to the other place.
Nice little lounge, dining and good size kitchen.
Nice warm comfy bed
- Christopher (9/5): -
- Eun Hee (8/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Great place, clean, homely and very comfy. - We have never stayed in a holiday rental that was a clean as Lavender Cottage. It was spotless! Excellent location to the supermarket and cafes but also in a quiet area. Great facilities and some nice extra touches like coffee pods, milk in the fridge etc. Would definitely recommend the cottage, especially if you’re travelling with your pooch. Maxine the manager was lovely and very helpful. Absolutely nothing 😊
- Mary (6/5): Average. - Nothing outstanding. Cockroaches in the premises. Towels with prickles and non absorbent. Very cold bathroom. Limited warmth in the second bedroom.
- Riley (8/5): Overall, just ok. - It was pet friendly. Floor needed sweeping and washing.
Bed sheets didn’t look fresh. Maybe white, pressed sheets would overcome this impression. Also, used leftover food not in fridge appetising.
- Brian (9/5): Superb - Lots of room Noisy air cons.
- Kerri (9/5): We had a great stay - Location and charm
- Carmen (7/5): Good -
- Daniel (10/5): Great caretaker, cosy cottage, good position in town, quiet, everything you need. Would stay again -
- Jade (7/5): Good - The convenience of everything The Neighbours with their loud music & the main bed was too hard, need to update the aircon's as they are very loud as well as the TV, we were disappointed that it wasn't a smart TV so we could watch the footy, it took my husband a long time to get channel 9 and move the cable around so that it would work.
- Nadine (10/5): beautiful stay. such a vibe! - too easy, was given a code
- Weng (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Wesley (7/5): Ok for a overnight stay - Very centrally located everything was walking distance. Some lovely places to visit and many tours to venture on. The cottage was very comfy and tidy. The TV connection was very ordinary, we do like to watch the footy!!! otherwise wouldn't of been a problem. Would have liked to of done a bit of washing however the washing line was full of the house keeping sheets and towels, so maybe not what you would call a guest laundry. Stock rotation of condiments would be recommended whilst most things were in date they had clearly been sat in the fridge for a very long time and given that it states breakfast included you expect better.
- Gordon (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (7/5): Clean and comfortable cottage close to town - Very clean and close to town. Beds comfy and nice and dark in the morning Some food left in fridge from prior visitors. Milk was opened.
- John (10/5): A really good place to stay, without being too close to town. - Excellent cottage with plenty of space. Well away from the hustle and bustle of the ridge, but easy enough to walk to town and all the attractions. We were wrapped in the manager's son who fixed the television, especially for State of Origin!
A destination well worth the visit! The beds were a bit hard, but eventually you found a good sleeping position.
- Joan (9/5): Superb -
- Barbara (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb -
- Connie (5/5): Passable - Close to town and was nice The oven still had food in it which smelt terrible
- Jenny (8/5): A good value option for clean convenient accommodation - The rooms were clean and neatly decorated with very good appliances. The bathroom had very good shower and toiletries. The neighbour who played doof-doof music until late - not the fault of the property or its owner.
- Lynda (10/5): Great location, super clean and perfect stay. - Perfect size, clean and location to town.
Lots of little extras and the breakfast goodies were perfect. Nothing to dislike
- Jennifer (8/5): Very pleasant place to stay and a credit to them - It was very homely. Had everything you could possibly want for a stay of any length. The coffee pods were a wonderful idea but the pods were stale and did not work properly. Booked for 4 And only one of the single beds were made up. We managed ok.
- Holly (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (9/5): Lovely - Great position Couldn’t work the stove
- Bianca (6/5): Beautiful cottage and location but needs a good clean - Great location and lovely little cottage which has been beautifully renovated and feels very homely. Well stocked with games etc for families. Needs a good deep clean and replacement towels - there was mould in the shower and bathroom, toilet not clean, bits of old food left in the sink, stains on the old towels, floors dirty throughout. It was a shame as the space is actually really lovely. The breakfast (whilst continental) was underwhelming with some communal condiments in the fridge with a dog bowl and frozen bread, and a small amount of communal cereal in the cupboard.
- Rhiannon (10/5): Beautiful Cottage. A real home away from home. - Beautiful little cottage. The hosts have done a wonderful job at making it feel like home. So many little extra touches that made the stay such an enjoyable experience. WiFi was great. We would definitely stay here again!
- Garry (9/5): Superb -
- Grace (10/5): Perfect for our needs! - A great pit stop on our long journey! The house was neatly kept and exactly what we needed for our family. Maxine the caretaker was amazing and even let us know that we could check in early if we needed as it was ready to go.
- Jess (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you for having us. -
- Cherie (8/5): Very good - Only spent one night, would definitely return!
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Phil (8/5): Very good - Breakfast and coffee facilities were great.
- Reshma (8/5): Kind people and lovely home - How kind the caretaker was since we had a very rough time getting to the accomodation after getting bogged in the mud. She was very understanding and kind to us. Although we only go to the accomodation after 1am of the day of checkout she let us have a later than usual check out.
- Hendrik (9/5): We enjoyed the stay - Privacy All good
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Isabella (6/5): Was ok - Quite, good air conditioning, good value for the amount of rooms/beds There where quite a few cockroaches inside the property, and ants all over one of the lounges
- Elaine (8/5): Very good - Location was great. Very comfortable. There wasn’t much provided for the breakfast that was included. Only 2 lots of cereal for 2 people for 2 days, no choice 3 x jam, again not enough and no choice. Only white bread.
There was only big saucepans, no small, need to provide a mix of sizes.
No provision for recycling.
- Afsal (5/5): Passable -
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Beautifully present and very comfortable .
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (9/5): A lovely cottage in a great location. - The location was excellent. The breakfast supplies had a great amount of choices to choose from. There was quite a few ants in the kitchen drawers and some on the bench.
- Susan (7/5): Perfect for our needs. - Good location, comfortable Breakfast was disappointing, no coffee pods or milk.
- Cameron (8/5): Very good -
- Chantal (8/5): Very good -
- Lorraine (7/5): Good - A nice comfy house within easy walk of the town (but not in summer!), close to all tourist attractions as well. More of a fenced off area for the dogs to be off leash would be good
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional - booked with short notice late when our van aircon couldn't keep up with lightning ridge. cold aircon in the cottage, super fast response
- Jeremy (7/5): Good - Breakfast was supposed to be included.
BBQ wasn't clean.
- Suzanne (9/5): Dog friendly accomodation - Good stop to stop for a night Air con are box types which are a little noisy, nice and cool
In the house though.
- Elayne (10/5): Great stay - Great stay for a weekend away in lightning ridge
- Peta (9/5): Superb - Great apartment, well appointed nice continental style breakfast also provided and in a fabulous central location
- Sytsma (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (8/5): Great place to Stay - Great pet friendly place to stay. The hosts seemed to think if everything you may need. Plenty of things to occupy your time whilst inside like board games etc. I would definitely recommend Lavender Cottage.

- James (10/5): A fabulous dog-friendly cottage filled with everything you need for a comfortable stay. - The Lavender Cottage was the perfect spot in Lightning Ridge - comfortable, quiet, close to everything and, best of all, dog friendly. We particularly appreciated having breakfast included. Nothing.
- Anastasia (9/5): Beautiful place, amazing host, highly reccomend! - Amazing communication with the hosts, beautiful close location, well thought out design, fully equipped kitchen. (I want that amazing stove top!) literally everything you could want including bfast and wifi! Wonderful! Spare bed sheets I was sleeping on had marks and stains. Kitchen bin surface has remanents of last tennants food on it.
