Guest Reviews
- Rochelle (4/5): - Not the room i booked. It wasnt part of the motel. I was sent next door to what looked like a Triplex. Dirty rooms, mouse traps in the kitchen. No comforter on the beds.
- Brandon (4/5): - I stayed in room # 19. The bed was on the wall adjoin room # 20. The walls are paper thin and I could hear the folks in the next room talking. I also heard a clacking sound akin to someone leaving a wooden screen door to blow in the wind. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. The room in general is old and tired. Just pay the money and go somewhere else
- Brent (10/5): - Very pleasant staff
- Jose (6/5): - Price was good and reviews by other were good. Showed up 90mins early and staff was kind enough to let me check in. Hadn't brought my stuff in yet and just laid in bed after an early morning and long drive to rest. Then the shouting and banging from the room over started and continued for about 2 hours. Eventually I had enough and went to the front desk and they acknowledge they've had complaints and would talk to the occupants of the other room. I requested that I get another room and they obliged. For the overnight stay, it was relatively quiet. Room was OK but good for the price. Would I stay again? Maybe if on my own but if I come again for the same event. But if I a roommate, then I'd spend the extra money on a hotel room.
- Jessica (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - Cute little place. Quiet and comfortable. Lots of selection on the TV with channels and streaming services. Breakfast was nice - croissants, fresh fruit, cereal. As someone who doesn’t drink coffee or tea I would’ve loved some fresh juice but I know I’m in the minority there. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would gladly return in the future.
- Hannah (10/5): - Close to downtown Hamilton, quiet and nice staff
- Stephanie (8/5): - Exactly what is advertised
- Catlin (8/5): - Staff were really nice continental breakfast seemed fresh with apples, bananas and yogurt with croissants coffee and tea
- Adel (10/5): - Great staff with great location highly recommended
- Brian (10/5): Great place to stay - Upon walking in, I thought the room was amazing! It was the cleanest motel I think I have stayed in. I thought this room was one of the renovated, until I saw the peeling paint by the heater or AC. But, it was no big deal. The shower curtain could have been a couple inches longer because upon completion of my shower, there was a lake on the floor. My friend uses a cane so I wiped up with one of the towels. The cleaners were friendly as well. I felt the room was quiet, Room 8.
- Anne (10/5): - The motel was spotless and newly renovated. The person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. And the price was excellent. Have already recommended the place to friends.
- Shuaibing (8/5): - good
- Stuart (10/5): - Updated/recently renovated
- Joshua (8/5): - Price and bteakfast
- Mathew (6/5): - Location is convenient - on edge of Hamilton; staff were not friendly: I was called the night before my arrival and asked "are you going to cancel your reservation?"
when i checked in, the woman behind the counter said "oh yeah, i called you to ask if you were going to cancel"
it seems like this is a property in transition - trying to clean it up and do repair work throughout; maybe it offers hope on the future here
- Stephanie (8/5): - Was exactly as advertised
- Lovepreet (10/5): - Goof
- Monica (10/5): - It was very clean and comfortable. The quality was excellent for the price.
- Gary (10/5): - modern, clean room with large screen tv. Room looked recently refurbished. I will stay here again!
- Sandy (2/5): - Bathroom windows dont lock
- Jillian (6/5): - This motel was better than I expected for what we paid for the night. Our room was clean but a bit outdated. It had a pretty terrible smell (not sure if it was smoke or what?). Looks like they are starting to renovate as our friends had the room next to us and it was newly renovated and very nice! The staff was nice!
- Cat (10/5): - The place is right off the highway. Quiet. The staff was nice. The bed was a little too firm for my taste. The room was extremely clean. I was very impressed
- Clifford (6/5): - Bed was comfotable. Bathroom is updated. Continental breakfast was good. Accessible. Central location. Staff were pleasant.
- Justin (10/5): - Great place
- Leon (2/5): - Good location
- Sardar (2/5): - worst place
- Ruth (10/5): - Clean ,newly renovated, friendly helpful staff excellent service!!!!
- james (10/5): - Wonderful Motel
- Mary (10/5): - I appreciated the lovely Christmas decorations and the inspiring signs around the lobby. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. It was our second time staying there and a pleasure both times.
- Miles (8/5): - Close to Go station. Friendly. Clean.
- Felicity (10/5): - Easy check in and was good for a short stay. We stayed while in between homes during a move. There’s not much in the surrounding area but we brought food and their fridge and microwave make it easy to manage.
- Dana (10/5): - It was one of the nicest places I’ve stayed in the staff was very friendly helpful the atmosphere was incredible overall fantastic
- Stephanie (8/5): Would Recommend! - This place was great for what we needed! My daughter and I stayed here as an in-between Buffalo and Toronto stop for the Taylor Swift concert. Hotels in Toronto were way too expensive at that time, so we opted to stay here and take the GO train into Toronto. We stayed two nights. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful when we needed it. Our room was very clean and the area is very quiet. Cute little complimentary breakfast with the breakfast basics - perfect selection if you’re not a huge breakfast person (which I’m not lol) It’s close to a lot of stores, restaurants, and the Burlington GO station.
- mandar (10/5): - Very courteous and kind. Place was very clean and had everything a motel.could offer. I enjoyed my one night there.
- Darren (4/5): - There was nothing appealing about this place. It was no where close to any amenities and as it was off the highway, it was horrific getting anywhere during rush hour traffic. No staffing after 9 PM. The entire facility was;
-outdated
-extremely inconvenient location
-furnishings were shoddy and cheap
-renovations and repairs looked like they were done in haste and with the cheapest materials
-refrigerator did not work properly
-AC made an irritating noise
The photos the website is a complete misrepresentation of what guests will actually see when they arrive. Definitely not worth the price. Definitely will not recommend this place.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Super kind staff
- Kevin (8/5): 1 night stay - very small but was fine for what i needed for an overnight stay
- Carlos (10/5): - ✨
- Tyler (10/5): - Good stay
- Mr (10/5): - Awesome staff and quiet clean area and surroundings
- Carlos (10/5): - It is a very clean place, the people are very friendly, it is unique
- Funny (8/5): - Everything was great, thank you to everyone who contributed
- nhan (8/5): - It’s okay
- Diane (10/5): - Good location for me to get to the Hamilton Airport for an early morning flight. Very nice people looked after my needs well. Nice quiet area.
- Cathy (10/5): - Great location for easy access to Hamilton.
- Susan (8/5): - Would have been great to have a coffee maker in the room; otherwise terrific place! Will certainly go again!!
- June (4/5): - Limit of 1 item for breakfast!
- Michele (2/5): - It wasn’t at all what was advertised in Hotel.ca. There was no A/C in the room, we couldn’t connect to the wifi. We couldn’t watch the tv because we couldn’t connect to the wifi. There was no plug for the bathtub. They were burning insence during breakfast. There was no sweetener for coffee. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
- Amarjit (10/5): - excellent
- ROBIN (10/5): - We were in the area for a wedding. The motel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was very polite and accommodating. Were were able to get an early check in with no problems. Definitely would recommend.
- bikramjit (10/5): - Very hood staff and very good rooms. Cleanliness 10/10
- Kathryn (10/5): - I liked the cleanliness and service. Didn’t like that it was not pet friendly.
- Jennie (10/5): - Enjoyed ourselves. Great location. Very clean. Couldn’t have ask for a better place
- Gregory (8/5): - Thank you City View 👍
- Molly (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and nice. Would come back.
- Rosalba (8/5): - A nice clean places . I love it
- Mitsuo (8/5): - Very convenient location.
- Jason (10/5): Always a good stay - I have stayed here on several occasions and it’s always been clean, quiet and comfortable. All at a reasonable price.
- Natalie (2/5): - My experience with this motel was horrible. At almost 10pm, someone opened my locked door. Only after my spouse went to see how this was possible, the man apologized, and said he had the master key and was intending on going in the room next door. I contacted the motel through Expedia after approximately a week as my $200 deposit had not been refunded, and received no response. It has now been over 2 weeks and my deposit was not refunded, and my spouse contacted them on Thursday and was told my deposit was held due to the smell of marijuana and that a manager would contact him about this; it is now Saturday and still no contact. Marijuana is legal here and we smoked in the designated smoking areas which can be reviewed on the security systems. I will be contacting the BBB regarding this.
- Thomas (10/5): - The unit we used was brand new and amazing!
- Christopher (4/5): A place to sleep but nothing more - It's a 2 star facility for a reason. Breakfast is non-existent.
The toilet "shrieks" when you flush it. Electric outlets are scarce. No in room coffee service.
It is VERY close to the Botanic Gardens.
- Jacob (4/5): - Dirty room
- Bert (6/5): Thiefs - The stay itself was fine. Reason why I would never stay here again is becau they seem to make a habit of charging you your $200 damage deposit on your credit card 2 days after you leave and when you contact them they say it's because they smelt cigarette smoke in your room. I'm not even a smoker!!
Theres no way to combat this as well as you prepaid for damage deposit. Good luck!
- Laura (10/5): - Great ambiance with lots of outdoor sitting areas with umbrellas and old wine barrels.
Looks fabulous.
Room has a great lay out, clean and great staff.
Coming back again next year!
- Karen (6/5): - The lobby was clean and modern. Set up like a wine tasting room. Lots of outside seating with view of city. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms desperately need to be upgraded.
- Manmohit (10/5): - Superb
- Christopher (8/5): - Clean but tired
- Blessing (6/5): - It was clean. Towels are old.
- gynelle (10/5): - Great staff clean and safe
- Md Jobair Hossen (10/5): - It's a fantastic place for staying
- Michael (6/5): - My wife said it was dumpy but that it was nice that the bathroom was renovated.
- Allan (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay and will likely return again. Thank you for a great experience.
- William (8/5): - Rooms are tired but clean and good value.
- Dianne (10/5): - Room was very clean, the staff was very friendly
- Melissa (4/5): - The rooms were clean but the windows did not have functioning locks, the property was ground level and backed onto a warehouse industrial area. The front desk staff was not assessable to the public and required a buzz in to access. This was an odd situation. When reporting the broken locks we were Told that they had security cameras. I asked why they had a buzz in desk if it was safe they could not answer this. We were not provided an alternative room and had to request wood to put in to window track to allow for some security. There was an abundance of woman of the night coming and going which was very unsettling. In order to access the smoking area required patrons to walk through this activity. Such an awful experience.
- Tricia (10/5): - Affordable, cute and quaint
- Jason (10/5): Always a wonderful stay - Close to the highway but also very quiet, speedy check in, clean rooms, comfy beds, parking in front of your door, complimentary breakfast all at a fair price.
- Brian (10/5): All Good - Accom is fine was doing a one night in transit, no issues, staff Very friendly and nice, good value
- Patricia (10/5): - Very friendly staff
- Kelsey (10/5): - Highly recommend City View Inn!!
We really enjoyed our stay here! We booked last minute, not expecting to be blown away by the cozy atmosphere this inn brilliantly created!!
Our room was nice and clean.
The staff are all very friendly!
The real star of this place is their outdoor seating spots! It was nice to relax and look at the city view, especially at night!
Might I mention this place is also very reasonably priced!! And they include a small complimentary breakfast in the lobby! (Coffee, tea, croissants, apples, granola bars, yogurt).
Thanks city view inn for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back!
- Bruce (10/5): - Liked the view of yhe city
- Harry (10/5): - Very nice view
- Randee (10/5): - Great, super clean, no bugs, quiet!
- brian (10/5): - Great location and exceptional staff. Thank you.
- Mary (10/5): - Excellent friendly staff
- Thistle property services (8/5): - Very cute, staff was great. Rooms could use a upgrade
- Carin (8/5): Decent place to rest your head - Friendly checkin. Room was okay size with table and chairs. Quiet. Air conditioner was dirty
- Jon (10/5): - Good location close to highway and train. It is a motel so don't expect a lot. It is clean and quiet and staff are friendly. It has a continental breakfast, but if you are still hungry afterwards, there is an Ikea down the road.
- Cheyenne (10/5): - The staff were very kind
- Jake (6/5): - I intentionally booked one of the cheapest motels in the area as I was staying for nearly 2 weeks and didn’t have the budget for anything more expensive.
The lobby area is nice, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean upon arrival and cleaned daily when I was gone, but there weren’t many positives beyond that.
The walls are certainly ou not insulated between the rooms so you can hear most things happening in the next room over. You can hear the shower and sink running in the next room over and when they flush the toilet it is quite loud (loud enough to wake me up when the person in the next room was getting ready at 5:30am). The carpeting was frayed around the edges so badly that the nail strips underneath are poking through. The wall by my air conditioner was pretty water damaged and just painted over. There was a large gap in the edge of door entering the room which during the spring was fine but it would certainly not be great during the winter or late fall. The bathroom was fairly recently redone with a standup shower but the curtain wasn’t long enough so when showering all the water would bounce off the shower floor go under the curtain and the bathroom floor would be completely soaked. They also informed me not to drink the water as they don’t trust it for drinking and all I drink is water so I had no go buy a few cases of water which isn’t a big deal but would have been nice to know beforehand. Apparently I’m only allowed 1500 characters and I’m at 1499 now.
- Keenan (10/5): That’ll do - It exceeded my expectations. This place was tidy had every thing I needed. It was good enough like I have nothing bad to say. The front desk staff was friendly. My only regret is that I had to leave before the free breakfast was ready.
- Jay (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Holly (6/5): - Get what you pay for. Location is good & room was fairly clean. Be sure to bring sandals as the carpet in the room is NOT something you want to have your bare feet on. There was no hot water when I arrived which made showering before going out for the evening very uncomfortable. They had fixed the water by the morning at least.
- Susan (10/5): - Staff very helpful. Although facility is on the basic side, it is clean, and amenities are provided. I enjoyed my stay and would return if back in the area.
- Gary (10/5): - Nice clean motel with friendly service.
- Gabriel (10/5): - It was a good stay at this Inn, no complaints.
- Davin (10/5): - A peaceful retreat with friendly staff. Looks a bit tired from the outside but once inside it was clean, roomy and quiet with a bright breakfast room. Smelled fresh. Lots of hot water and clean towels.
- sara (10/5): - What a secret gem this place is. It's remarkably clean. Great shower pressure. Comfortable bed. Easy check in. And then a continental breakfast with great coffee? For the price you can't beat it. Staff were charming.
- Rob (10/5): - Staff were very nice and the room was great but, what I liked the most was the first impression of pulling in to what you think is your typical old run down lost in time motel, only to realize that the care and effort was put into upgrading and modernizing the rooms. Making them nice and clean. Bringing them up to today’s standards. Cool and comfortable. Even the old motel sign sitting on the roof that you think died long ago, not only works but, comes alive at night in the coolest bright green. Old school cool all around. Kudos for reviving something old and bringing it into the new as opposed to just tearing it down and starting over. Never judge a book by its cover…
- Cynthia (4/5): - Breakfast included and it’s suck.croissants cold no butter, danish cold too & It says continental breakfast, & we’re expecting toast with butter & jam, eggs but they say they don’t served toast & eggs.
