• Agnes (2/5): Bad - Location Misrepresented reality. Picture looks so pleasant, new and clean. Actual place is dark, old and not so clean. Bathroom shower is so hot, cannot be adjusted to make it lukewarm or cold. We were not able to take a bath in our own room but was offered to use the spa instead.

Cleaners threw away food products without asking when doing room refresh. Staff piled laundry in the stairwell and were sorting it out in front of us - this meant that we couldn’t use the stairs. Piping in one of the rooms was very noisey clunking a lot which we reported.

• Darwiza (10/5): I love my stay at the hotel even if it is just an overnight trip. - Convenient location within the old quarter. Rooms are clean. Staff are helpful and accommodating. The room is a bit small. So with our luggages it is a bit challenging to move around.

The staff, particularly Dennis and Kai could not have done more to accommodate. SO happy that I picked a true winner to stay in. Note, I never write reviews. This was an exceptional exception!

• Michele (10/5): Lavender Hotel was amazing and we felt very welcome and supported. - Wonderful service, great location, fantastic breakfast, great laundry service. Staff very attentive and caring and gave us lots of advice on travel support, organising taxis, holding luggage as we went on small side trips. Highly recommend this hotel. A special thanks to Hana for assisting us prior and during our stay in Vietnam organising extra trips for us to cruise & train trips. Nil

Overall the hotel room / facilities etc. are fine, just don’t book any activities through this hotel. See below. I asked about a taxi to Halong Bay and the staff recommended I forget a taxi and get a full day tour including, coach, boat trip, lunch etc., she recommended a tour at $85, down from $99. So I booked but it was only after the trip I found out that the actual going price for this exact same tour from every other single tour company was $42. I had been over charged by $85 for the two tickets and it really soured my opinion on the hotel because I was basically scammed.

• Marcus (9/5): Great hotel that I would gladly recommend and stay again. - Beautiful little hotel in the old quarter of Hanoi. Old worldly in feel. Rooms are small but clean and cute. Good size ensuite. The staff were exceptional from front desk to cleaners. Had a good massage in the spa as well. Only downside was it was a little noisy so I suggest some earplugs for sleeping. Just a little noisy with people in other rooms and hallway.

• Andy (10/5): Great stay, great location. Can’t wait to return - Great location, handy to everywhere and everything. Staff were AMAZING! Dennis saved us from the lift coz we put all of us in it and we obviously had too many meals out as it didn’t like us. 9 big NZ bodies is definitely too much for it. But it made us laugh so much. Thank you so much Dennis. Great breakfasts and even made us a takeaway one when we left before it started. Really appreciated it. The rooms are so good, spacious and the beds are comfy. Thanks we’ll be back.

• Guoda P. (7/5): Average experience - The location was great, the staff was helpful which were the only highlights of the stay. The hotel is definitely not a 4 star property as advertised. The rooms need a bit of maintenance and deep cleaning, breakfast choice was poor and its area did not feel too clean. All the luggages were stored next to the food which is not a standard at any hotel. There were random items just placed on a staircase which did not give a good impression. The pressure on leaving 10 as a review was also not appreciated and kind of explains the overall score which is inflated in my opinion.

We stayed only one night, they were very kind and let us keep the room longer so that we could go out in the morning and then come back and shower before our departure. Perfect location, in the old quarter. The room is very quiet, we heard no noise at all from the street.

• Julienne (10/5): L’hôtel Lavender est un excellent lieu que je recommande - La localisation de l’hôtel en plein centre de la vieille ville d’Hanoi. On peut tout faire à pied. Le petit lac se trouve à 5 minutes à pieds, le choix des restaurants, le marché de nuit où on trouve de tout. La gentillesse du peuple vietnamien. • Tyson (10/5): Great location bang for buck - Loved the staff. They were so lovely and friendly. We stayed here twice. A couple days first then we went to ha long for a couple days and we came back. The staff looked after our belongings. Check in was smooth. Easy. And a welcome drink was provided which is refreshing. Breakfast was a good selection of foods both Asian and western. They have a cook there for omelettes and eggs and French toast. They have a breakfast list. The room we stayed in big. We had 5 suites cases and we still had plenty of room to walk around without hassle. Bed was big also. We stayed in 6808 and 5808 we liked both rooms. Room was serviced daily even providing complimentary water. On the second time we stayed we checked out at 0445 they offered to make us a take away breakfast as our booking had breakfast included. This was a really nice touch which we appreciated. The location of this hotel is perfect. Close to markets. Close to lake. Close to all the things you want and need. It’s really ideal. The shower was really good the pressure perfect. Would highly recommend staying here. Staff were amazing. N/a

• Ashvin (10/5): A whistle stop stay in a hidden gem of a place! - The staff were so kind. Since we had an early flight to catch the next day they offered to make us breakfast to take to the airport and organised us an efficient shuttle service. The hotel has a European rustic charm which is really nice. Beds were a tad uncomfortable and rooms could be a tad noisy at times.
