Guest Reviews
- Carolin (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy, well equipped, great mezzanine bedroom space, perfect for a couple.
Great location in Trastevere, five minutes walk from main bar/restaurant area, in a very quiet lane.
Extra appreciation for Jessica, always available for support, especially when we were dealing with a medical emergency at night, top!
- Andrea (10/5): Great neighbourhood, amazing host! - The host was so communicative, she made the entire check in process very clear and was always available if we had any questions. Logging into the Wifi was done via QR code, which made it a quick and easy process. The location was great - walkable to Vatican City and Trastevere, so while we could still walk to all the sites (Colosseum was the furthest away, at about a 45 minute walk), it wasn't very busy. The street is absolutely beautiful, and it was a joy to step outside every morning. It wasn't a problem for us, but the lofted bed platform is quite close to the ceiling. You can only crawl on the lofted platform, so while it was a comfortable and cozy sleeping arrangement, just be aware that there is very little head room. That being said, having the bed lofted gives you a lot more living space in the apartment.
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional - The value was very good for the location. We had read that the Trastavere was 'the place' to encounter local flavor and that was certainly correct. The kitchenette was great to have. We never used the oven, but being able to cook on a gas range was a huge money saver. The television was in a great location for the 'couch'. The locks on the doors were super secure.
The bed was quite comfortable. The location was a bit of a walk to anything like a bar, store or ristorante. The room is actually much higher in the building than indicated in the posting. Three rather steep flights of stairs puts one on the fourth floor. The loft is lower than it seems in the photos, approximately four feet. We managed the ladder to the loft many times during our four-day stay without incident - DO NOT try to descend in any fashion but backwards carefully, and after getting up there I would need to approach the bed on my knees and my partner had to roll across the bed to reach the other side. There was no space at the head or foot to make passage. All in all we made very good use of and had a good time in Little Loft and in the Trastavere, but we are relatively agile for 60-somethings. For the owners I would recommend: A few more hooks located strategically... the ability to hang stuff is highly useful for travelers. A real knife for the kitchen. Cooking is difficult with one, small serrated knife. A bit more description of how things work on arrival would have helped also. It took some time to figure out how to use the washing machine and we never did figure out how to expand the sofa bed. After trying a few times we felt it was better to leave it rather than break it. But it would have been nice to watch TV of an evening, on the bed there.
- Renee (6/5): Lovely host, nice location but not a very comfortable apartment. - The host was very polite and fast to reply to any issues.
The apartment was cute and authentic
The kitchen facilities and coffee machine was a bonus that you don’t get when staying in a hotel.
The location was about a 10 minute walk from Trastevere centre on a nice quiet street that felt safe.
The apartment is basic but clean.
It is well equipped with a hairdryer, iron & ironing board and fan etc. If you arrive in the morning and can’t check in early, the nearest luggage store is a 10 minute walk dragging suitcases over cobbled streets and costs €15 to store for 4 hours.
The keyless door system didn’t always work as the phone signal was poor and we would have to move around trying to get signal to open it.
There is no lift and 3 sets of narrow marble stairs to carry cases up and down, it wasn’t a problem for us but just to make others aware if they would struggle with stairs.
There isn’t enough storage in bathroom or space to get ready with mirror and space for cosmetics, hair dryer etc.
The bed is up a ladder and is just a mattress on the floor you can’t stand up so have to crawl in, this was shown on the listing though so can’t complain as such but it somehow seemed more inaccessible that I thought it would be.
The biggest issue was the bathroom, it is tiny and you can’t stand up in the shower as there’s not enough head room, the water leaks all over the floor and there was hardly any hot water only enough for one 5 minute shower so either myself or my husband ended up having a cold shower every day.
- Tanel (10/5): Exceptional - Apartment was situated in Trastevere. Very easy to walk Vatican. Everything was super nice and cozy. The feeling was like home. And of course Jessica the hostess was amazing and super friendly, helpful.🥰 If you want real Rome feeling I suggest this place
- Natalia (10/5): Cozy, exceptionally well located - The location was exceptional. Trastevere is where you definitely want to stay if you are between 20-40’s. The neighborhood is alive day and night, you have THE best places to eat carbonara pasta and for drinks. Demetra loft is really cozy; lots of stairs but it doesn’t really matter except for when you’re carrying your bags. Jessica, the manager was lovely and sweet and made it very easy for us to check in. As a young couple, we loved it. The bed isn’t too comfortable, but it was part of this nice experience. Is really a minor thing. In general, everything was perfect.
- James (7/5): Nice, comfortable location. - We really liked the loft, but do beware there is a steep ladder to get up there if that might be an issue for you. The host is very responsive and had lots of good dinner suggestions, etc. The electronic key system, Nuki, was super annoying. It always took a long time to open the door using the app and one time it even stopped working, stranding us outside for thirty minutes until someone else came out the door (the host was super responsive and was on her way so that is a bonus). The bathroom shower was VERY difficult for a tall person, but it was cute.
- Adam (9/5): We will try to book this apartment again next year and this is the best answer :) - Everything was great for us and we will love to book this Demetra Loft again next year.Adam Bartoszewski Poznan Poalnd we enjoyed our staying and everything was great for us !! fantastic localisation an our favourite spot in ROME.
- Louise (10/5): A small pearl in room - I appreciate the communication with Jessica, she seamed so sweet. The apartment is so cosy, and the street is close to the center, but down a small road that make is quite. The lock system was easy and worked like it should It's seams a bit scam, the fact that we had to pay taxes over a link, and didn't talk to a single person, though it said so on Booking, that they would meet us there. And we noticed if we had any appliance on while talking a shower, we would get very small Electric shocks.
- Alida (7/5): Good - Great location. Friendly host.
