Guest Reviews

- Randon (3/5): Unhygienic delight in an unpleasant area - Not a good location. Overpriced for the quality and did not expect to find the room we did looks different than the pictures. Tried to contact the property, but they did not reach out when we had a question. Recommended if you’re broke. Unhygienic and location is not ideal.
- Jason (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (4/5): Would stay else where - The room was cozy I liked the colour choice off the room witch my partner loved the hotel host was available and responsive to every question I had
Was in a good location too with a short bus station to Westfield Stratford city and a short walk to the London Underground The main door was quite concerning it didn’t lock properly it could feel like someone could just break in there is a trip hazard that I nearly twisted my ankle the bottom step isn’t really noticeable it was like a death trap when entering my room we checked to see if everything worked and the tv was smashed and hardly visible the kitchen light wouldn’t work throughout are whole stay either the noice from other guest was quite disturbing as my partner couldn’t sleep as she was scared with the noise the wifi wouldn’t work on are last 2 nights either you couldn’t really walk around the room without touching the furniture it was that small when messaging the hotel host about the problems and I requested a refund they than blocked me
- Anonymous (4/5): Stressful to start but ok - We were due to meet friends at the property. They had also booked a room there. Shortly before the day they had their booking cancelled. We worried that we may be cancelled so I phoned twice, left messages twice, texted, emailed and used booking.coms contact page.
I received absolutely nothing from the host.
On the day we left Yorkshire to travel down still not absolutely certain that we had somewhere to stay.
Eventually after trying yet again to talk to someone I got the standard instructions as to where I would find the key
This is absolutely unacceptable if someone repeatedly tries to contact you about something as important as where they are sleeping that night please have the decency and respect to answer them. It was very stressful as we will not be back.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ezekiel (5/5): Passable - Doesn’t have an iron
- Parizas (2/5): Very poor -
- Isabods (1/5): Locked Inside the Property — No Fire Exit, No Excuse - This was one of the most dangerous and unprofessional stays I’ve ever experienced. The main front door was locked from the outside, leaving us trapped inside the building with no accessible fire exit. In the event of a fire, we would not have been able to escape — our lives were quite literally at risk.
This is a severe breach of fire safety regulations and basic human decency. It is both illegal and deeply irresponsible. We had to wait until the cleaner showed up to let us out. Had anything gone wrong, there would have been no way out. There were no alternative exits, no fire escape signage, nothing.
To make matters worse, the host gave our booked room to someone else and stuck us in a smaller replacement without explanation. They ignored our phone calls, only replying to texts, and promised a partial refund — then ghosted us completely after the stay.
Between the serious fire hazard, the dishonesty, and the complete lack of accountability, I cannot stress this enough: avoid this place at all costs. It is unsafe and disgracefully mismanaged.
- Anonymous (8/5): Fantastic place to soak up the culture of London. Loads of places to shop and eat within a few minutes walk. I loved it! - Very comfortable and amazing value. TV did not work.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (8/5): Very good -
- Mohammad (8/5): Very good -
- David (5/5): Passable - The location is good nearby Liverpool Street metrostation, and there are many shops nearby. The apartment was very filthy and dirty starting from the kitchen when entering we could see the dirt on the floor, also the kitchen cabinets had dots of dirt on it, the whole place was covered in dust, the bed linen was anything but fresh. In the bathroom the toilet had black dirt in it and there were also stains in the shower. Overall you could see the signs of lack of cleaning.
- Karolina (7/5): Good location for sightseeing but the neighbourhood was a little bit scary before the night. Room was quite clean not la -
- Naveen (10/5): Perfect especially the small kitchen spaces!loved it - Atleast keep three or four toilet rolls and keep one shower gel
- Livia (5/5): Passable - The description of facilities was not accurate
- 3 guest only 2 bath sheets, no hairdryer, no toiletries. Three of us stayed for 2 night with only one toilet paper. Generally, it was dirty. On the positive side, very close to Brick lane. The 2 window of the room were facing the street - for some it could be uncomfortable
- Virginia (9/5): I checked in very smoothly in the middle of the night, room was tiny but had everything needed, small bathroom and a kit - Good location and good price
- Abi (3/5): Poor - The presentation on the app is complete opposite from real life, not look safe for families with children. Too busy area around market space. The location, I have to book for another property that same night. My family couldn't stay there and did not go close to the door when I found out. I have to go to work and I can’t leave my family there for safety reasons. I have to pay for the britania hotel that night
- Carolina (6/5): Renovated and quite well located. Not as clean as expected. -
- Obinna (7/5): Good -
- Olga (7/5): Good -
- Emmanuel (8/5): It's worth the money and time - It is easily accessible, very clean, and tidy. Value for the money. Nice coffee, tea provided. Friendly Host
You are doing great. Keep it up
- Tanisha (5/5): Passable - Its was cosy and just to sleep we didnt need much more As soon as we walked in the smell of tobacco cigarettes was horrible
- Ronald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sorin (7/5): A little bit too expensive, but acceptable. - Bus station in front of the location. Some markets nearby. Underground at 10-15 mins distance. The pictures are old, the inside isn't looking that good now. Or at least the apartment we received.
We didn't have wifi in the first night.
The bed wasn't too confortable, the mattress was tooo soft.
The shower cabin was too damn small.
- Chaweemas (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ishneet (7/5): It was worth the price we paid for the night in a short spam location is safe - It was clean had all essentials that were needed for the stay Really humid and hot, had a funny smell
- Allison (5/5): Passable - Property was well located. Advertised free toiletries included but there were none, no shampoo, shower gel, or even hand soap.
- Ridwaan (10/5): Great apartment in a buzzing, well-linked location. - Fantastic host - friendly and very responsive. Apartment was well-kept, with all the amenities and features we expected/were needed for a short stay. Great location, lively and buzzing, with good links to central and east. Decent value for money.
- Stefano (6/5): Pleasant - Central area, close to cheap street food places No hair dryer, no mirror in the bathroom. Noise from the road below
- Remy (4/5): Disappointing -
- Daniel (7/5): Good -
- Bsr21 (4/5): Disappointing -
- Rachel (7/5): Basic, I wouldn't want to stay for more than one night. - Location Bolts on door instead of a key. Cleanliness is very basic, things dirty and left behind from previous visitors. Very soft mattress, patio door doesn't lock.
- Green (1/5): Broken/old beds. 3 promised, 2 delivered. Worst beds of my life. - Bus stop right in front Listing has 3 beds, but apt had only 2 functional beds for 3 people. Beds are terrible quality, worst beds I've slept on in my life. Since we only had 2 beds and 3 people (owner did not respond until too late and never came to fix or replace the broken sofa bed), 2 of us had to share 1 bed. Oldest spring mattress I've ever slept on- so out of date. Every time the other person moved, it shook the whole bed. We could not sleep at all. The roll-away bed was hard as rocks. Horrible experience.
- Darya (1/5): Basement apartment: unhygienic conditions - The state of this apartment is utterly appalling. There's a strong smell of mold and damp, severe traces of water damage on the walls - including near power outlets. The apartment is actually a basement, with an iron service door that has a 5cm gap at the bottom, allowing humidity and odors to enter freely. The floors are dirty, the walls are stained or cracked, bathroom tiles are broken, and the bathroom seal is completely mouldy. This place is simply uninhabitable and far below the standard. I strongly advise against staying here.
- Saira (1/5): Horrible UNSAFE APARMENT. THE HOST IS ALWAYS WATCHING YOU AND HAS KEYS TO PROPERTY NO PRIVACY - NOTHING WAS GOOD everything about this property was extremely bad unsafe location. The apartment was not safe especially the stairs and landing of the property is hazard. the property was not private the host was watching us stay in property. There was no privacy we were being watched by the host while in this apartment. The location was very bad drug users and unsafe for women to travel. The property was damaged and broken with 1 toilet roll and 2 towels inly for 3 people stay. This was the worst experience using this apartment.
- Sarah (5/5): Passable -
- Rose (1/5): Honest review of the basement apartment. - The hosts were very communicative and provided extra bedding that we requested. The property was down a very steep set of stairs, and we were not informed of this.
The property smelled very badly of mould and damp, and there was a lot of this everywhere throughout the property.
The pillows and bed linen were damp and had stains on.
The sockets were hanging out the wall and surrounded by damp.
The property was absolutely filthy and did not look like it had been cleaned in a long time.
There were pigeon faeces all over the outside area and doors.
There was no fire safety, and the bedroom door handle was hanging off.
There was no ventilation, and only one tiny fan, the other fan provided, was completely broken.
There were broken tiles and floor boards.
The front door was just metal with a very large gap underneath that someone could put their hand through and was locked with a padlock.
The bathroom door is extremely narrow, half the size of a normal door.
- Balázs (5/5): Passable - The apartment has a good location, close to the center and multiple bus and underground lines. The description was misleading, stating that there are 2 double beds in the bedroom, and we booked it for 3 people with that information in mind. In fact, the bedroom had only one double bed, and a small foldable single bed which was very uncomfortable with a thin mattress, and it took up most of the floor space in the room, we couldn't even lay down and open our suitcases in there. The bedroom windows are overlooking the street, which was quite noisy even at night.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - . .
- Anna (6/5): Cheap and not so cheerful - It was fairly inconspicuous as no door number but we worked it out.
It’s been poorly converted tbh. The stairs are steep and have differing sizes which makes it easy to misstep.
The area is very cramped but everting is there. The biggest thing I believe would improve it is to actually spend a small amount of time and money on refreshing the paintwork and walls. It just looked grimy and unloved and made the finish look really poor. I appreciate you can do little regarding the unrelenting noise from the street unless you put in double glazing.
- Christiane (9/5): Superb -
- Brogan (8/5): Very good -
- Isabellah (5/5): Location was amazing. Cleanliness needs to be improved upon. - The location was really good. It felt dirty. To the point where I went out and brought disinfectant to wipe the floors myself because the floors were really dirty. Also advertised that there was meant to be a safety deposit box and there was not. I tried to contact the owner to ask where it is but they did not response. The towels also had stains on them.
- Benjamin (8/5): Good location and easy check in - Good location, good facilities, clean and simple The door is inconvenient for groups as can’t lock without people being awake to let you in
- Jaq (7/5): Good -
- Teaky (8/5): Decent stay close to amenities & short walk from station - The little kitchen is cute Stains on bed sheets, pillows weren’t as clean as wanted. Had to turn them inside out
- Julia (6/5): - The photos make the place look nicer than it is. It was an average stay. Not bad but not great. Wouldn’t stay there again.
- Helga (3/5): Poor - Unfortunately not clean. Cigarette bud lying next to the bed. And there is actually a mouse running around in this apartment!!!
- Chara (9/5): Superb -
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Zhuoran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mani (7/5): Good -
- Emma (8/5): A very cozy double bedroom with kitchenette and ensuite. Was perfect for a short stay of 4 days - the hosts were very we - It was very cozy! and very central in Shoreditch. In a great location and easily within walking distance of cafes, bars and shops. Perfect for my short stay ☺️😊. Had a few very minor decorating issues - but overall it was lovely for what I wanted and very reasonably priced.
- Aimee (9/5): Great location and easy stay! - Loved the seperate bedroom and kitchen, and great location. Needed a toaster
- Hani (6/5): Pleasant -
- Denise (8/5): Great for the price and our purpose . Thank you 🤩 - For the price the location was great and the facilities were too. We would come again for a similar sort of trip 😊. Communication was excellent as was the flexibility and helpfulness 👍🏻 The layout was a little odd. Stairs very steep. Numbered doors or keys would help .
Couldn’t get just cold water in upstairs shower.
- Briony (7/5): Good for a short stay - Good location and reasonable for a short stay. Clean with kitchenette. Staff responded to messages promptly. Stairs were steep. 4pm check out is very late. Room is small, not much space to open luggage.
- Sujeeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sergey (5/5): Passable - The appartment was very clean. It had all of the facilities and amenities. Had coffee and tea, which was nice. It was very small - I could not walk from room to room without hitting something. You could not sit on the toilet without hitting you head on the sink. Bathroom had no mirror in it. The appartment is located above a law firm, which is a bit weird - since you have people working below and the door to the apartment has window in it.
- Marta (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great apartment was very clean. N/a
- Kerry (5/5): Passable - Clean.
Comfortable bed.
Easy access.
Plenty of plugs.
Good communication from the owner. Shower powerful and clean, but had a major leak.
Light fitting in kitchenette hanging from ceiling.
Light fitting in shower room loose revealing a large hole.
Not sure it was over £120 paid.
- Lucy (8/5): We loved our stay and we would go back again 😀 - It was very easy to get into the property and was an easy walk from the tube. The location was very near the lively Brick Lane and Shoreditch, which we loved! There were 2 of us and we were able to have the one bedroom and turn the living room into another bedroom with the sofa bed. We used the extra single mattress from room 1 to put on the sofa bed and it was very comfy! Lovely clean bedding and towels. Could do with a mirror and shelf in the bathroom and a mirror in the main bedroom and we couldn't get the TV to work but it was probably just us! Maybe a user manual in the property would be good 👍
- James (10/5): Highly recommend, would stay again - Close to multiple transport links - 10 min walk to Shoreditch High Street Station or 7 min bus to Liverpool Street Station
Friendly and helpful introduction email from owner who gave helpful details in locating the property
Clean modern accommodation which is very spacious
The sofa beds are pretty comfy and felt well rested after sleeping on them Slightly small towels
- Julie (5/5): Wouldn’t go back - Steep stairs to get to apartment
Rooms were unbearably hot
- Alicelorenzin (8/5): Easy to access, comfortable, good position - It's very easy to get there (bus stop right in front of the door) and the instructions from the host were very clear also for the self check in. Plenty of bus lines that make it easy to get to the center in 30 minutes or to Subway stations. The room is not very big but if you only need to sleep or relax it's perfect.
There's also a small kitchen with the fridge in case you need it and a private bathroom, towels and soap are provided. I Would totally recommend it! The shower head is installed wrong (I guess) and water comes out in an odd direction, the floor gets very wet but a mat is provided so it helps a little. Also the curtain is very thin and the bed is a little small so for two tall people it might be tiny - but these are all small details that do not change my overall opinion about the place which is very good.
- Zoe (7/5): It was ok as it was just somewhere to sleep - The location was fabulous lovely size room with nice little kitchen and un suit shower room Attention to detail could have been better ie the decoration was nice but looks a bit slap dash paint is all on the nice new doors the floor and radiator not enough plugs in bedroom plus bathroom floor is uneven and was wet after having a quick shower and then in the kitchen was kettle and fridge but no tea coffee making items just some odd random tea bags in a caddy and some rock hard sugar in a sugar bowl
- Paul (6/5): Perfect location for what we wanted - Location was perfect The beds were some of most uncomfortable we’ve ever had in accommodation
- Nasim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (8/5): Very good - The landlord is very responsive to our needs and is very friendly. The sockets in the bedroom and living room were all not working and were told before checkin. It was difficult especially when youre on holiday and got loads of stuff to charge. Though the landlord tried his best to give us extension cord. I suggest to have it air-conditioned as it's hot and there was no fan at first but the landlord send us fans day after. Making it aircon can be comfortable.
- Adrian (8/5): Very good - A good base to explore London.
Bethnal Green station and Whitechapel station are a short walk away.
Good communication with owner.
Comfortable and clean, lots of fresh towels.
Nice place. In hindsight we should have taken a hair dryer for the ladies. Future guests please take your own.
- Darcie (9/5): Great location- good size, would happily stay again! - Great location, perfect for me, my 2 sisters and my cousin as we were attending an event at Victoria Park- so made our way to Shoreditch before heading there and it was fab! just a short walk.
Great size rooms, made use of the kitchen facilities- lovely little courtyard if there are smokers/ or you just need a bit of fresh air as its a basement apartment.
Would happily stay again- great communication with the host- responded quickly to phone call and Booking messages. Some leaking water in the bathroom, full length mirrors weren't in places you could actually see yourself full length (personal preference), 1 fan- was very warm so maybe could have done with another, no baking trays for oven; all minor things.
- René (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (9/5): Fantastic apartment - Fantastic host and accommodation. Lovely clean rooms and great location. Everything just as described. No mirror in the bathroom and no toaster in the kitchen but everything else perfect.
- Sayyed (3/5): Poor - Unfortunately i got some issue from the them electricity problem but the host have done alternatives for us to manage a night stay
- Stuart (1/5): Not good - When I raised my concerns, the staff were very receptive. It felt unsafe, the lockbox for my room key opened without a code and I struggled to lock the door to my apartment. There were electrical wires sticking out of the stairs.
- Kh (1/5): it’s a basement with No house number - nothing it’s a basement
I had an appointment with the hospital in London so I did reserve an apartment but when I reach there I didn’t find the Apartment I called them. They guide me to a door with a lot of locks and apartment was in the basement. I called them I told them that they didn’t make it clear that it was a basement, they said that I have to call booking.com again to have my money back
Booking.com customer service said that they can’t help me with that refund because the owner of the apartment does not respond to them.
a basement apartment
when I reach there I didn’t feel safe to go down there with my kids down there because it hasn’t have a number in case of emergency if I called a police or an ambulance, they will not find me
- Anonymous (10/5): Nice Comfy and compact place to stay - Nice compact use of space, bed was comfy, nice play to stay Damage to one of the floor slabs in the bathroom. this is cosmetic and didn’t affect me.
- Dunlop (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed 1 night and was very easy to find and access. The host was responsive and a pleasure to speak with. Would be happy to book this again in the future.
- Karla (10/5): Cosy and welcoming - Hosts were brilliant. Extremely attentive. When I asked if they had a travel cot, they ordered one especially for me. The apartment is compact but they have really made the most of the space available. All newly furnished.
- Jenefer (1/5): Bad - I could not find the property.there was no phone number to call
Taxi driver could not find the property
I would like to have a full refund of my money
Or I am going live on TV to let the public know what it is. Ì did not have a phone no to call to find out where the place was
No one h could tell
I understand it is a 1 and a half star place
- Don (8/5): Very good - Very affordable apartment with all the needed essentials for a great stay. This apartment is in an incredible location with many good eateries around as well.
- Romina (7/5): Good -
