Guest Reviews
- Penny (9/5): Relaxing and comfortable accommodation. Central location very convenient. - Very well appointed and comfortable. Very spacious. The train crossing nearby 😝
- Meg (9/5): A lovely clean house that was perfect for our stay! - It was lovely. Very neat, tidy and clean. The close proximity to train crossing.
- kamaljit (10/5): - Perfect for family , great location .
Host Marie is vey helpful

- Hendrika (8/5): - Location was great, house was comfortable and clean. The host was great at communicating. Cooling in the back two rooms was not great, although there was a ceiling fan in one room and a plug-in fan in the back room, the air con from the lounge room just really didn't make it to these back rooms. It was only ~30 degrees when we stayed and the rooms were almost unbearable to sleep in, so any hotter and I would not sleep in those back rooms.
- Marcelle (10/5): - Very clean, central, spacious bedrooms, very well organised house, easy to communicate with owners Occasional loud noise of passing trains if you're sleeping in the front bedroom.
- Meryle (10/5): Participant loved this property, stayed previously, very comfortable, host was lovely to deal with. - Location was excellent, close to town.
- Laura (10/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Great stay - Great property for the whole family. Close to everything and nice and clean. Nothing
- Carolyn (8/5): Once you get used to the trains it is a great location and very comfortable and cozy house. - The beds were comfy and the electric blankets were an unexpected extra bonus. We arrived in the dark and there were no lights on inside or outside the house. Also, there is no number on the house so we were slightly unsure we were at the correct house, again in the dark.
- Nick (10/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): Relaxing, stress free, cost effective, just perfect! - Perfect location, beautiful property, fabulous hosts. I would be hard pushed to find anything to be unhappy about. There wasn't anything I didn't like.
- Adam (10/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): - Clean and tidy, everything you need for a base in Bendigo. Not the house's fault, but trains were noisy.
However, the shower was moldy and could do with a clean. Shower base does feel as though there's maybe some rot under it, so may want to look into that.
- susan (9/5): A nice place to stay, reasonably quiet despite being near a railway crossing - Was a great location for us to get to Eaglehawk
- Kathleen (9/5): - The house was very well equipped with everything you need for a great stay.
Great location
- Adrian (9/5): - House had all items for a good.stay
- Trevor (9/5): -
- Glenn (9/5): So clean and comfortable - So clean, everything was relatively close and the hosts were amazing It sits close to a train Line, but it didn't really bother us
- jake (10/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): Great property for a weekend away - The property was clean, had great heating and everything you needed for a weekend away.
- Lian (10/5): - The house was really spacious and clean. Kitchen fully stocked with cups, plates, utensils etc. So great to have the travel cot, high chair and baby change area. The garden was fenced in and so big. Great location for a walk to the lake. The heating worked really well and kept the place warm and cosy. Great communication from the owners. This place is perfect for a family. Not much really maybe the close proximity to the train line but not much you can do about that really.
- Bronwyn (10/5): - Location and space. Very clean Nothing at all
- Lenarongoito (6/5): - Did not realise it was so close to the train station & line- not a good location for light sleepers. Trains kept us up a fair bit. Would not choose this location again. The shower & fans need a good clean.
- Xerri (10/5): - So easy to organize,
- Nikki (10/5): Fantastic experience ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - House was well furnished and great homely feel for all. Situated close to all shopping and supermarkets and close to Bendigo hospital. Was a pleasure to stay at Walnut house! No issues at all!

The back garden was a delightful extra.

Spotless throughout.

- Lynley (10/5): A lovely place for a great price. - Everything, it was a very cute house, spacious, stylish and with every facility you could want. We would have loved to stay longer as it was such a great experience. Nothing.

- Ron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (8/5): good, enjoyed our stay - location was good Single beds not suitable for an adult need to up grade bed,
- A (4/5): The lack of adequate cooling made it a very uncomfortable stay unfortunately. - The location was great. The room space and set up were great too. Space wise it was very comfortable.
The run of the mill facilities provided were good.
Marie our host, was very accommodating. Unfortunately, the house was very hot, and this is reflected in the rating.
When we arrived, the house was so hot it never cooled down except for in the loungeroom.
It was very uncomfortable.
One split system in the small loungeroom just was not enough. The main bedrooms were ok because they each had a ceiling fan but the end bedroom with the single beds was an oven, and it did not cool down overnight.
On the second night we dragged the mattresses out into the loungeroom so that we could get some sleep. But the kitchen was hot both nights.
- Elmi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (9/5): Superb - Very family friendly. Staff were easily contactable and friendly

- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable. Enough room for everyone. Large cupboards and extra blankets. Close to my daughters calistenics solo competition.
If available next time, we'd be happy to stay there again. Sorry, we only took a video of the house, so cannot share photos. It is exactly as advertised. Heating works great as we were there in June. Bonus is, there's a walnut tree in the backyard if you're lucky enough to get some. 2nd toilet out back. Large rooms and a great size bathroom. N/A

- Kelly (10/5): Would stay here again no complaints - Everything was awesome Nothing it was all great
- Sean (8/5): Very good - Great space and all the facilities you could need.
Within walking distance of Lake Weeroona and the old Bendigo tram depot, ( the tram is a great way to see the town and get some historical facts) The train line over the road is an issue as the trains start at 5.20am, with the blowing of the horn, then trains are passing every 15 mins!!
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, close to amenities, had a homely feel.
Marie was exceptionally helpful and responsive if requiring assistance. As I'm not an apple user, there were no instructions in the welcome manual on how to charge the TV remote, though that's more on me 🙂

- Elsie (10/5): A lovely house, perfect for a family with everything you could need for a very comfortable stay. - The property was really lovely and homely. It's in central location and was perfect for a family, having everything we needed. The host was very attentive, kind and understanding. She was exceptional in her communication, providing information and helping us out with our special request. Nothing could have been better.
- Renee (10/5): Lovely short stay in a perfect location to Lake Weeroona - Beautifully furnished and well equipped with everything we needed. We accidentally locked ourselves out one night as the front door is deadlocked.
- Teckers (10/5): Perfect little getaway. - Very nicely presented, clean and facilities very good. Rooms spacious and beds very comfy. We appreciated chess game and playing cards and spacious backyard.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (7/5): Good -
- Gary (7/5): Good - Spacious, yard, close to the lake Passing trains
- Abhishek (9/5): Perfect home away from home. - Clean and immaculate. Conveniently located. Spacious and has all the required facilities. Nothing specific in particular. Overall a nice and comfortable house.
- Anonymous (9/5): Clean, comfortable and wonderfully convenient - Beautiful space close to lake Weeroona and city centre. Comfortable and large light rooms, slept really well and great facilities. Only problem were the council greens bags which were all split meaning we weren’t able to place all our greens waste in the right bin.
- Chris (10/5): Very happy with the value and condition of the property. - Nice and tidy. Close to town centre.
- William (8/5): Very good - Quiet little retreat
- Tom (9/5): Nice house that was clean and spacious - Everything The noise from the train, but it wasn’t too bad.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good -
- Ben (9/5): Great house, fantastic location, accommodating hosts - The house was a lovely home and it had a great location. We look forward to returning one day soon Minor issue: The sound insulation was not great, so muffled road, train and neighbour's sounds were heard in the house.
- Leila73 (7/5): If you're a sound sleeper, I would recommend this place. - Straightforward and easy instructions to collect the keys. Facilities were clean and well provided and the beds were very comfy. The host's communication was excellent. The house had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location was central and easy to find. Parking is spacious and you can lock your car into the backyard if you don't want to leave it in the driveway. If you have kids, the backyard is enclosed. The location itself was good, however, it is right near a train track. We had trains coming through every hour, crossing bells and horns sounding...this isn't the host's fault but it did make for a sleepless night on our first night. The second night was not as frequent. The backyard is large, but it could do with a little TLC if you were inclined to use it.
