- Minh (2/5): Very bad experience with Booking, I do not blame the host but the responsibility is with Booking.com - The only thing I like (initially) about this apartment is the location - locating in Hell Kitchen and close to Central park and Timesquare. That is the main reason that I booked the place. However, due to many issues with this place that I decided to get out of it in the first 2 hours and forfeit the entire booking fees. An issue with the place was that the location/address shown on Booking.com and the actual address was off by 300 meter (not an exact location on Booking.com) - I do not know why but I guess the host did not want to reveal the fact that they rent out the apartment for short-stays. Many things I do not like: (1) getting in the apartment took me 20 minutes as there was an issue with the key lock and there were very little help from the host - they hire some support staff from overseas countries (I got a text from a Pakistan number). (2) the apartment was very small (~30m2), which was not apparent when I booked (because the pictures were taken to give an impression of a larger apartment. Basically this is a loft apartment with one corner being used for bedroom (1 single bed and 1 queen bed put together in a small enclave), the living room and kitchen was very small (15 sqm) and the otherside was a small toilet/bathroom. (3) the apartment does not have much air flow as it was in the back of a building and the only tiny windows opening up to a wall, so it felt choking staying there. (4) the toilet was small and heavy smell (due to air flow issue above). (5) Overall for value for money (~400/night) then booking a hotel room 30sqm is much better value) (6) When I saw the apartment on Booking.com for the first time, it got rating of 10/10 - but only 1 review. I suspect the rating was not real. Due to these issues, I decided to vacate the apartment after 2 hours and looking for alternative options and forfeit the entire booking fees. I return the key and inform the host but got no response. In my conclusion, the main reasons that I had a very bad experience was that I have high expectation paying 400/night - I expect a small apartment but at least it should be accommodatable. I think if the price and the expectation set correctly, for other people it might be acceptable. I try to give a factual review here to help Booking.com & other people as well.
- Eliza (10/5): Exceptional - Location is exellent All was super! If the ovner could provide the ludgage dropping service, than i can not imagine, what can be better
- Ronald (10/5): Great location, great value, and great host. This is the perfect Manhattan stay. - Self check-in was a breeze. The lockbox containing the keys was right where host said they would be, and host even provided photos for people like me that always fail to see the obvious.
