Guest Reviews
Assolutamente consigliato!
Aves no jardim. Cozinha bem equipada.
- Giacomo (9/5): Overall highly recommended. - The cabins are very clean and super comfortable. We had a great stay and the hosts were super helpful and available. The host failed to communicate us that the cabin we had initially booked was not available and so we drove to the wrong place initially. We eventually sorted everything out and received a discount for the inconvenience which we appreciated.
- Kenneth (9/5): Clean comfortable lodging with a roomy patio for relaxing. - Easy access to beach. Quiet secluded location. Comfortable rooms/beds. Adequate kitchen and bath area. Friendly helpful host. It does take some traveling to get to this site. Would not try to drive here at night.
- Shir (10/5): Exceptional - A spacious and pleasant room, a good balcony and a beautiful view. The host was available for any request
- Duncan (10/5): Nice and quiet and remote. - The location is beautiful and quiet. It does take about 30 minutes from town to get there - for us novices. It is worth it. The soda at the end of the road is great. The birds were excellent. We saw no mammals though. On site staff were very helpful. Could be a bit more shade on the terraces.
- Loic (9/5): Superb -
- K (10/5): Perfect place to relax close to Drake Bay - Beautifully located with a wonderful view!
The house was comfortable and well ventilated in the hot weather. We saw many Toucans and other birds. Carlos is a very friendly and helpful host! This the perfect place to wind down after hiking (it’s very close to the Drake Bay trail), snorkelling and other tours.
- Gijs (10/5): This was by far the nicest place of our entire vacation in Costa Rica. - Everything Nothing
- Shun (10/5): Comfortable stays - The house and facilities are very beautiful and comfortable.
The garden is very well maintained. It was my fault, but I should have used a four-wheel drive vehicle.
- Ahmad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (8/5): Lovely property in an isolated area with wildlife everywhere, but requires 4x4 for rough roads. - Lovely property in the middle of the jungle. Monkeys and toucans everywhere. There is a secluded beach just down the road. Beware though, the roads in this area are in rough shape. Slow bumpy driving required. The drive to Drake Bay was terrible. Roads in and around the area are in horrendous condition, as compared to everywhere else. These accommodations are remote and require a 4x4. I would never drive to Drake Bay again. Take boat.
- Elisabeth (10/5): Exceptional - We extended for one night and I think I should have given a 10 from the beginning instead of a 9, because rate compared to accommodation quality is just perfect. See my review from January 1st for details.
- Elisabeth (9/5): Lovely spot with many birds - If you have a car, ideally high clearance or 4x4 as the road is rocky and if you are willing to drive 20 minutes from/to Drake Bay, this place is fantastic. The owner, Carlos, is very nice and Erick, his son, is super responsive should there be any questions. The best of the cabin is that it sits next to the forest so you hear all kind of animals and tucans have their food trees right in front of the terrace: welcome to a tucan overdose 😇 Could use more pots and pans and maybe a few cloth hangers to dry clothes.
- Ran (6/5): Pleasant - modern decor, very clean, pretty rainforest view, very friendly manager on site The owner should have mentioned in the first line that this property is not only out of town, but in a locaton only accessible if you have durable car for VERY BAD mountain roads. The road was steep at a few points and full of stones and can get even more tough during rainy season. At a few points I had doubt whether we could really pass and I felt stressed about the way back as I didn't want to be stucked in the place. Also accessing the closest beach from the property requires driving on an even steeper road (which our car couldn't do so we had a 2 km hike, not fun) and the beach was not so suitable for swimming - it's wild and rocky and no any facility nearby (only muddy road in jungle). So if you are looking for relaxing time this is not for you. If you want adventure it's ok. Also if you want any food, there is nothing nearby, so get food before going out of town, because going back to town requires at least 20 mins considering the road conditions
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation is a well equipped studio in a very quiet and remote area outside of the little village Los Planes. We enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace with watching and listening to many different birds. There is a good panaderia (Cielo y tierra) in Los Planes. Only 5-10 minutes by car away is gorgeous Las Caletas beach. From there you can also make a beautiful hike to Drake Bay or/and San Josecito bay which we can highly recommend. We also walked to the rainforest platform of the owner's father which was a very particular experience. You definitely need a 4WD (which we had) to get there as some parts of the street are really bad.
- Marie (10/5): Amazing ! - The place is really nice. In the middle of the forest, we heard insects at night and birds the morning. It’s just amazing.
Bonus: we had an awesome neighbor, Carlos.
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): Wonderful - Very clean. The house stood on the hill so always some breeze came by. Simple but sufficient house. Location is good and you can see the sun set at a beautiful beach nearby. None
- Xiphias (9/5): Superb - Amazing place and we did appreciate the welcome and the option to go in the nature for a while. Checkout at 10am is a bit early on the other hand.
- Bas (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, we saw many birds. The host is super friendly and helpfull. We really loved our stay here!
- Shayna (9/5): it’s virtually an eden but easily accessible without a 4x4! - the property was sooooo beautiful and Carlos was so so sweet and accommodating!!! the facilities were perfect- a rainforest dream house!!!!!!! and hot showers! and good Wi-Fi for being in the middle of the rainforest!!! kitchen was well equipped and was perfect from the bed to the hammock! also! all solar powered! amazing! it was very far from the center of town via difficult dirt roads (though Carlos was so helpful in navigating them!)!!!
