Guest Reviews
- Stefanie (10/5): - - Exceptionally friendly personel
- Old style hotel
- comfy bed
- spacious rooms
- batheoom - very nice too
- great view from restaurant and own balcony
- tasty food in restaurant - the hotel has very close by some cafes with loud music but the hotel provides earplugs which is a great solution :)

- Cal (10/5): Lovely oasis in the heart of the old town - The staff was so super kind and helpful here (thank Heba!) and you’re sure to be in the heart of everything. The breakfast was fantastic, the beds comfy and the shower was amazing. 10/10!
- Valentina (8/5): -
- Suzanne (8/5): Step into old Cairo - Very copious breakfast. Lovely staff. Comfortable beds and good shower. Very fun location if you like to be in the middle of a busy street with a party atmosphere every night late. We were very satisfied. Wish they served beer and wine though.
- Benjamin (10/5): Séjour de 5 nuit. Localisation parfaite. Personnel adorable. - Personnel efficace, disponible et sympathique
Localisation magnifique
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Karina (10/5): -
- Bozena (10/5): - The service 11 /10 more then amazing

- Susannah (9/5): An exciting start in the middle of the historic Islamic market. - The hotel is stunning, with ornate details that truly make it a unique space. The restaurant at the hotel has wonderful views of the Islamic district in Cairo and the food was delicious. The room was very well appointed and spacious for being in the middle of the city! The area it is in is remarkably noisy, as it is in the middle of the main Cairo walking market. They do provide earplugs for sleeping and I was able to sleep despite the loud music outside. It is also very difficult to get to because it is in a walking only area. The hotel did have a golf cart that was available for my departure, which was helpful!

- caroline (3/5): Nightmare in a fairy tale hotel. - Wonderful old furniture, and Arabian fittings and decor.
A very large suite. The horrific noise ( music) from the bars just beside the hotel which went on until 2h37 a.m.
Inescapable , constante, making rest and sleep impossible anywhere in the hotel, despite the ear plugs waiting on your beside table.
We were so distraught we left the next morning despite having paid for 3 nights.
The Egyptian board of Tourism should be made aware of this. It is an absolute disgrace that one voukd be asked to pay 300 euros a night for such an experience.
The inability of the staff anywhere in the hotel to speak English or to understand it, should also be pointed out.
- anna (10/5): Glorious - I love the decor. The location, the rooms. The restaurants served phenomenal food. And the stuff was amazing. Kind and professional. Thank you.Mustafa, Hussein, Donga and many others whose names I do not KnowCan’t wait to return.
- Lynne (9/5): Stunningly beautiful boutique hotel - The hotel is superb, atmospheric, beautiful, elegant, clean, excellent staff, wonderful breakfast, excellent restaurant with free entertainment, lovely roof top terrace.
Right in the heart of Islamic Cairo. The noise outside, we moved to a back room and still some noise. I could only sleep with ear plugs- we knew this so put up with it.
- Diana (10/5): Unique and fabulous Hotel, worth the experience without a doubt. - Charming, old world building & decor. A very unique and special experience staying at this Hotel.
The roof top restaurant was fantastic for breakfast and dinners. Food and service was extra special.
All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The location right at the beginning of the market was perfect for exploring and also near the gate to walk to to catch Ubers to monuments in that area of Cairo. The Hotel was positioned across from an all night cafe that played music at super loud levels. The hotel does provide ear plugs on your night stand to help lessen the noise & help you sleep.
- Gnappi (10/5): Splendido!
Niente. Ci è piaciuto tutto!
- David (9/5): - Everything. It is simply a fantastic stay. Location wise it is the best. They need to work on the water system. Shower could go from scolding to freezing in seconds.
Grazie Hussein!
- shooq (9/5): - The place has a charm to it and the location is great. The staff are very very kind and helpful (Hussain and Mustafa from the reception desk and the housekeeping girls). Everyone is attentive. WiFi is available all around the hotel, considering that the area doesn't have good reception. The Toiletries are from a local brand which is very very good. The rooms are of a great size and the amenities are all there. It isn't their fault, but the street itself gets very noisy at night, although the room comes with earplugs. Maybe the windows could be changed to double glazed to reduce the noise? By noise i mean music all night.
It should be made clear that the road itself is historical and cars aren't allowed all the time, the hotel provides complimentary golf cart services to the main street.
- Irene (10/5): - Location, style and staff Nothing
- MIchelle (9/5): We loved our stay. The hotel’s excellence is attributable to its people. - The property was old world and authentic with a wonderful ambience and its location is fabulous inside the old walls and in the midst of the busy souk. Yes it’s very busy at night but that is part of the experience. The staff are exceptional - they are attentive and friendly and proud of their hotel and their service is excellent. Nothing that we didn’t like. We had booked a terrace room with a balcony and we were given a suite without a balcony which was disappointing but it was not a big problem.
- Stephen (10/5): Incredible immersive experience in the heart of Khan El-Khalili, with luxurious suites & great food - Amazing location in the heart of the old Islamic quarter of Cairo, right by the atmospheric Khan El-Khalili bazaar.
Super suite-only hotel, with very large Egyptian style suites with modern bathrooms. Well-furnished rooms.
Suite overlooked extremely busy street, which gave great atmosphere of excitement - but see below.
Great breakfast (continental or Egyptian style) served on roof terrace overlooking old Cairo.
Super in-house restaurant on roof terrace - ate there 3 nights out of 4 and loved each visit. Incredibly, unbelievably noisy rooms, as hotel is directly opposite a restaurant that plays extraordinarily loud music from around 7pm to 3am every night! Earplugs are provided, and it is actually possible to get used to the noise, but if you are a light sleeper or hate loud noise you should definitely choose another hotel!
Also, Uber taxis need to drop you at the nearby Bab Al-Futtah gate which is a 10 minute walk away from the hotel, however the hotel has a very helpful buggy which can pick you up from here if you call it, and can take you there in the mornings if you need an Uber for an excursion. For some reason pre-booked tour vehicles are able to enter the street and collect from the hotel's front door.

- Melissa (10/5): Beautiful space, cinematic atmosphere, but come prepared for a lively night scene - Gorgeous suites right in the center of the old town — it honestly felt like staying in a hidden spy hideout. The room was surprisingly spacious, with its own closet, a desk for working, and a balcony that opened out to the heartbeat of the street below. Every moment felt cinematic. Even with the window noise barrier, the late-night sounds can still be a lot. The staff did provide earplugs though, which helped take the edge off.
- Daniel (10/5): The best !!!
- Tanıl (6/5): Excellent hotel in an excellent location to experience the real old Cairo which suffers from noise pollution. - Everything was excellent. Rooms were nicely decorated very clean . But there is a big but… Loud music from the cafes I n front of the hotel was very very disturbing and unacceptable. And that continued until 3 am. Must be solved immediately.
- Xin (10/5): - Excellent location with a lot of attractions within walking distance. The roof top restaurant has the best pigeon soup. Big car cannot drive in.
- Monica Teresa (10/5): -
- Haruna (10/5): Very nice staffs. Thank you so much M. Khalil! - Very nice staffs. Thank you so much M. Khalil!
- Sofia (9/5): True charm of Cairo - Magical and safe location, carefully decorated, good attention to details, great breakfast and staff amazingly kind and attentive. Makes you travel in time.
- Sofia (9/5): Hospitality with a soul in the middle of Khan el-Khalili - Beautifully decorated, details in the room were delightful. Staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, in the true spirit of hospitality. Located right in the middle if the hustle and bustle of Khan el-Khalili, bringing all it’s magic to your feet in your room veranda or in the restaurant in the rooftop. The restaurant has really great food, beautiful breakfast while Khan el-Khalili is awaking up, and delightfully surprised by wirling dervishes in a Thursday evening. Theres’ nothing I didn’t particularly like. It didn’t bother me, on the contrary, but can be hard for some people to manage the noise, even with ear plugs.
- Susan (10/5): Absolutely loved our stay at Le Riad Hôtel - Loved the boutique hôtel with fabulous furnishings. Room size large and location in the centre of Old Islamic town was excellent. Management, security and staff in hôtel and Zeehara restaurant exceptional. Would absolutely recommend this hôtel for authentic Egyptian experience. Perfect stay for 4 nights Street noise very loud directly on street from hôtel until about 1am. If noise would be considered an issue I would suggest in investing in some good ear plugs…it would be a total shame not to stay at this hôtel due to street noise. This is Cairo and I expected the noise level…the city is so alive.
- Susan (10/5): Perfect stay in old part of the city - Beautiful hotel in heart of old Islamic Cairo. Furnishings exquisite …hotel and restaurant staff very polite .great to have restaurant in hotel on rooftop level. Very secure. Street music noise until early hours of morning could be disturbing to some but we were aware of this through our research and was as expected…very special to stay in the heart of this old town. Would recommend to invest in good ear plugs and enjoy your stay…don’t let the noise deter you. Would definitely stay Gain
- Katty (9/5): Perfect stay in historic Cairo - A unique hotel in the heart of Islamic Cairo, beautiful rooftop restaurant, best for enjoying the ambience of the historic city
- Francesco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (6/5): Pleasant (kinda) stay in old part if Islamic city - Location. Close to market/bazaar. Fairly easy to walk around old Islamic town. Staff very helpful. Rooftop restaurant was nice. Food was plentiful, and very tasty. The noise at night. We arrived during Ramadan, which meant there was very loud music being played at night (until 4:00am every night), we were advised that this was because of the Ramadan. However, a word of caution, we were also advised that the music is only played until 1:00am when it is not Ramadan. As the hotel is situated in the old part of town, taxis and private cars are not permitted to enter, which means you may have to walk with your luggage to the hotel.
- Andrew (7/5): In the middle of Cairo - If you like to be in the middle of Old Cairo. Not accessible by public transport. Must know where to get off and walk in. Location is busy and noisy but lots of character with roof top restaurant Not really anything because I knew what I was getting.
- Simon (3/5): Great hotel ruined by cacophony from establishment opposite. - General location in the heart of Islamic Cairo is great, lots going on, close to monuments. Good restaurant on the roof. Staff are Friendly, charming and efficient. There is one very big drawback: the noise from the cafe opposite. To be clear, this is not a humm of conversation from a neighbourhood cafe or a buzz of street noise. The source of the racket is less a cafe and more an open air nightclub, with very very loud music and even singing going on until at least 2am on a Wednesday night. Either the source of the noise has just opened or there is a segment of the hotel market that really does not mind this level of noise, but we are not in that segment. Think very carefully before booking.
- Saeed (9/5): Superb -
- Arabina1 (9/5): Superb - The staff were wonderful, helpful and kind
The rooms were unique, the effort to maintain the authentic style was evident throughout the hotel, while having individually styled rooms made every corner special.
The food was excellent quality There was nothing I didn't like because I knew where I was going, but there are notes to consider for people planning a stay:
1) either travel with light luggage (backpack) or ask the hotel to arrange to have a car that can be allowed to reach the location as without this it is not allowed to reach it (has to be coordinated) it is in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the khan.
2) The hotel provide earplugs on the night stand for the gusts' use - that is an indication of the noise level :-) so if you want peace and quiet this place is NOT for you. I wanted an authentic stay in the middle of the action so I didn't mind, and I met a fellow traveler who said she used noise blocking ear phones that worked well, you have coffee shops with music from different directions among other things .. fun and action galore.
3) There is an elevator, but there are several steps that one still needs to climb so if you cannot walk steps at all , please make a note of this .. if you can, give it a try, it will be worth it.
4) when you book there are rooms with a balcony and a view to the street and others that have no view, so if you stay and hear all that noise , you might as well get the rooms with a balcony and view to view it all. After all, why hear it and not see it. That wasn't clear to me when I booked and I was sad , the room with balcony was so much nicer.
That's it, that's all I can think of except : take it with ease and ENJOY!
lovely place and people
- Thrilla (1/5): Le Riad's "charm" ruined by too much noise, sub-par facilities and penny pinching - We were really looking forward to staying at Le Riad, with its unique charm, ambience and local flavor. Unfortunately, Le Riad's charm wore off quickly. The A/C didn't work properly, and it took at least 1 day to get a little cold. The food at breakfast was mostly cold (leftovers?) except for the warm freshly baked bread, which was good. We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights. The food was mediocre except for the lentil soup. It seems all the meat was overcooked, the duck, lamb, beef. We were really disappointed. Then there was the horrific noise from the streets which kept us +awake till hours after midnight. The earplugs that the hotel provided (which means the hotel staff are well aware of the horrible noise) were useless. We couldn't sleep during our entire stay. Worst of all, when we were checking out, the receptionist informed us that we were charged US$20 for the breakfast on our first day. We were offered a free night by Le Riad (for our check in at 3 AM as compensation for an online scam involving Le Riad which caused me to cancel 3 credit cards and a lot of hassles)!, and we assumed it included the free breakfasts for 2. The receptionist did not inform us that we would have to pay for the breakfasts in advance, only when we were checking out. When we pointed out that the restaurant's menu listed breakfast at US$5 per person, the receptionist replied that the menu was old and the prices were outdated. Unbelievable, since we were charged the prices on the "old" menu for both our dinners! We felt ripped off by the hotel's devious and penny pinching policy.
- Darinoor (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (9/5): Beautiful boutique hotel in vibrant area - Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of the action of Islamic Cairo. The room was gorgeous and a generous size. The staff went above and beyond to assist us which was very much appreciated. They were all very helpful and friendly.
As many others note, it is quite noisy due to being located opposite a very lively Cafe that plays loud music until around 2am every evening. The hotel does provide ear plugs and personally, I enjoyed being in such a vibrant location but it may not be for everyone. Noisy during sleeping hours
- Daloglu (8/5): Very nice authentic hotel in the old town. Quite a different experience - The hotel has an authentic design. Bed and pillows were really comfortable. They have a really nice rain shower. Breakfast was nice. There is a very nice restaurant on the roof. The location is really lively and noisy. High volume music till to late hours. But it did not disturb us. We could sleep nice, thanks to earplugs they left.
The staff was polite, smiley. But What you say to one person is not conveyed to the other. It would be nice if they were more informative.
- Octavio (9/5): Great stay in charming Islamic Cairo - Location! Room, restaurant, service Zero
- Mohyielden (9/5): A must have experience but find a solution for the noise that suits you - The location is out time, you will transcend to 500 years back in time
Lovely and amazing in every detail One drawback that the hotel has nothing to do about, the street parties all night, it’s little bit crazy
I sleep like a log normally but I had trouble sleeping that night
- Dylan (10/5): One of the best hotels in Egypt - This hotel has a truly unique character and atmosphere. If you are looking for something different, that feels like you are in the middle of historic Cairo, then look no further. Splendour, history, and of course, charm. Wonderful rooms, friendly and attentive staff, and an attractive rooftop restaurant. 10/10.
- Omar (9/5): Charming, comfortable, perfect place to stay - Charming, interesting, had a resident cat
Delicious breakfasts, wonderful atmospheric location
Perfect for a stay in Cairo Not the property’s fault, but there were difficulties getting our taxi in to pick up our luggage
- Joanne (9/5): Fantastic experience on Al Muiz - The breakfast at the hotel was fantastic and the staff were super helpful. Also, the location was fantastic!
- Janet (10/5): A unique and beautiful place to stay -
- Just.g (10/5): Silent oasis in the midst of chaos - The location is amazing, if you like the hustle and bustle. The staff went over and above to help us and accommodate for my family. My son broke his leg while in cairo and they brought flowers up to our room, they helped carry my son up and down rhe stairs, they were incredible. The location is in the middle of all the action. It's hard to get in and out of by car, so you'll need ti walk outside the old city walls to get a taxi or uber. It's very loud at night, it didn't bother us but if you're a light sleeper, might be difficult. Also the rooms have no doors.
- Bassant (9/5): Superb - Great location if keen to spend a day or 2 wandering the streets of old Cairo. Exceptional service and very courteous staff. Spacious and clean roims and super comfortable bedding The street noise was expected, but the sound of guests outside the room all day and night coupled with the banging of kitchen staff was beyond tolerance. Avoid staying on the 4th floor
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): Superb - Wonderful room, with a great view from the terrace - the hotel is full of character and charm. The breakfast was excellent, as was the evening meal we had. Only thing to comment on was that after a long journey from London we were assured that the restaurant would be open for another 30 mins for some food, however when we went to eat 20 mins later they said it was closed - we went to bed hungry!!
- Grzegorz (8/5): unforgettable stay - excellent location in the center of the old town, close to the bazaar; a great place for walks and feeling the atmosphere of the city; the hotel itself is very romantic, large rooms (actually small apartments); breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was of very good quality The downside is noise; There are several places with loud music around the hotel. It doesn't get quiet until around 2 a.m. Definitely the place for those who don't go to bed early.
- Junko (9/5): excellent - hospitality noisy
- Danielle (9/5): We loved the charm, decor and location of this hotel for a magical experience of Cairo - This hotel was so dreamy. The location is in the heart of the Khan El Khalili market and you could spend endless hours just watching life on the street. The hotel and room decor was old world charm with so many great touches. The breakfast was outstanding!!! The street is lively until late at night, so the room is not quiet.
- Giovanni (6/5): Pleasant - The most incredible part of stay was the breakfast
For the rest, the room are not at the level expected
A lot of noise at night, very hard to sleep after 2pm
- Dalal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacek.wasowski (10/5): If you wonder where to stay in the old town of Cairo that's the place. Truly magnificent!!! -
- Clemency (10/5): An amazing location wonderful staff and a beautiful hotel - Beautiful spacious suite very tastefully decorated in the heart of old Cairo. Fantastic Egyptian breakfast A little noisy at night
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fg (10/5): Charming Egypt - Beautiful authentic Egyptian styled small hotel
- Deborah (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff, lots of character and great rooftop restaurant.
- Clive (9/5): Had all the charm of Cairo chaos and calm - Charm Staff location Noise from cafe across from hotel
- Imogen (8/5): Fantastic hotel with wonderful food - Beautiful room with wonderful decor and a big space! Fresh fruit, teas, stocked mini bar.
The breakfast was delicious and a lot of food. The restaurant at the hotel is very popular with a range of dishes. I loved the lentil soup!
Great location for the markets and seeing the old Cairo area. We weren’t quite prepared for the loudness of the music until 3am both nights. This was a Friday and Saturday night- it may not be the case on other days. There are great dancing places next door to the hotel but the music is extremely loud. We were in a terraced room so right next to the bars.
- Essa (7/5): Good - The location and the terrace restaurant There were two receptionists, the older guy was nice and welcoming, the younger one was grumpy and not welcoming at all.
- Clare (8/5): Very good -
- Saleh (7/5): Okay but don't deserve this price - Huge suite. Very nicely decorated and has a very comfortable bed. A balcony was included, and a working AC all the time. Very nice gesture from the property to give us some fruits as well. Not well maintained and cleaned. Doesn't deserve this crazy price. The area is both good (history, old cairo, etc.) and bad (unfortunately not recommended if you are traveling with a female). Check-in took ages.
- Christina (9/5): A great hotel in a great location - The whole experience in this hotel was amazing - from the very first minute we arrived at the front door. Staff were lovely, especially Sam on the reception who couldn't have been nicer. We had Suite No 12 and it had a great balcony overlooking the street - everything was clean and very comfortable and as we were celebrating my birthday they had a lovely cake left for us.
The restaurant was on the top floor and this is where we had breakfast and dinner and there was a great choice - I would recommend the Egyptian breakfast.
We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Cairo.
- Tom (9/5): Exotic pearl - Loved it! - This pretty little romantic gem of a boutique hotel was right in the heart of Islamic Cairo, with the hustle and bustle of the old city and souks right at the doorstep. Our suite was the size of an apartment, with an atrium, living room with a sofa, large restroom with a Roman shower, balcony, sitting area with an antique writing desk, and bedroom. Decoration was even more beautiful than in the pictures. The staff was very accommodating and helpful and the place was clean. The upstairs restaurant served both breakfast (included, cute but the 3 menu selections were a bit limited) and dinner (not included, turned out to be one of the best restaurants we found in the area). As a side note there is no alcohol license here or anywhere nearby, which is hardly surprising given the location. Our balcony was surrounded by ancient mosques with beautiful minarets in all directions. There were several colorful and loud hookah bars and restaurants with live music going strong late - if you can't win them, join them! This is not a quiet location if that is your thing. Wifi was a bit spotty but worked well near the router in the suite. Rideshare app cars are not allowed through the old city gates into this area so if you need a cab to the hotel door, reserve a cab a day earlier, or walk 10 minutes to/from the closest gate where rideshares are ok.
- Fergus (9/5): Superb -
- Veronica (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (10/5): Fabulous and unique luxury boutique hotel with fabulous restaurant in Old Cairo’s wonderful Khan El-Khalili district - A truly amazing find. a delightful and luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Old Cairo’s thronging Khan El-Khalili zone. a really well-managed property with attentive on-site management, ever-helpful staff - and a surprisingly fabulous Egyptian restaurant on the rooftop, with sumptuous breakfasts and dinners on a beautiful terrace overlooking the busy streets below. I was extremely impressed, and will definitely return soon. A bit tricky to get to, so book your arrival with the hotel directly if you can. Regular Uber and taxis don’t have ready access. Also be prepared for lots of atmospheric street noise and an early morning wake-up call from the mosque nearby. But these are small prices to pay for unique Cairo experience.
- Annemaarie (8/5): Very good - The room was beautiful and clean. Big bathroom, friendly staff, good beds.
Right in the Islamic old town.
Note there are no cars allowed in that area.
Restaurant is very good.
- Alec (8/5): Very good -
- Alaa (9/5): Totally recommend - A great, unique experience in the middle of the old city. The staff are super nice and supportive. The streets noise are in the middle of your room (until a very late hours)... Thought the sound isolation should've been better. Also, there is no easy access for cars to the hotel. If you have heavy luggege, you need to pre arrange the pick up / drop off
- Mai (6/5): It is pricy (300 dollar/night) with the facilities we got. But Egypt is tricky in general. - The location is in the heart of the bazaar, easy to walk around, and touristic.
The deco is quite exotic.
The front desk people are very polite. 1. We had a suit, but the furniture is actually quite old and dirty inside the room unlike the picture.
2. The hotel's post machine only accepts Egyptian currency and they're following their own rate by calculating by their way, they charged us 100 dollars extra than what we have booked on booking. This is very tricky. Better to pay by cash if you have.
3. The breakfast: it is small set menu, if you want anything extra, you have to pay a ridiculous price. i.e. 2 boiled egg for breakfast is 140.
4. There's no service, such as if you want to book a car, or tour, they're not very informative.
- Harshad (8/5): Situated right in the centre of the Souk. We stayed at the Photograpgy Suite on the third floor ( has good and clear vie -
- Harshad (9/5): Superb -
- Jenga224 (9/5): Loved it - Everything was wonderful including the aesthetic. The breakfast was really nice as well however we were expecting to be able to get the Lebanese breakfast and the continental breakfast and not be offered just one option.
- Caroline (8/5): 6 days in Cairo at Wall 1 - Convenience.
Lived and experienced how Egyptian families go about their daily lives.
The beautiful architecture within walking distance. The noise from the loud music at a restaurant opposite the Hotel.
The building renovations meant lots of banging and tradespeople in and out.
- Arzu (10/5): the best way to stay in Cairo - the best place to stay in Cairo, the rooms are super clean & wonderful every room is different, the Le Riad Stuff is amazing everyone is super helpful and friendly
- James (10/5): Great Boutique Suite hotel on Busy Muiz Street - Le Riad is a wonderful boutique suite hotel in the Islamic District of Cairo. We really did not want to stay in a high-rise style hotel along the Nile and preferred a place with more character and color. Le Riad fit the bill. The suites are really spectacular. Huge and very well appointed. Sitting areas, balcony over the street and a lovely bathroom. Breakfast on the rooftop was glorious. The souk is a few blocks away and it seems that everything is happening on Muei Street. A lot of action. We had dinner at the restaurant on the roof which also was excellent (no alcohol). The neighborhood is interesting and fun. Lots of shops and restaurants and lots of people. These are not complaints but merely warnings if you stay there. Two things. First, Le Riad is very expensive. The facilities are worth the expense however. Second, Muiz Street outside is extremely loud. Maybe because it was a Thursday night when we stayed (same as my Friday night) but the music and party started early and went until 2:30 am. While loud, we expected it and it didn't bother us. If you are sensitive to noise, bring ear plugs.
- Diane (9/5): Superb -
- Nathan (10/5): beautiful boutique hotel tucked in the heart of old Cairo - All the staff were wonderful. Friendly and always willing to help. Whole hotel lavishly and classily decorated. Location perfect to explore souks and mosques and a short cab ride to anywhere in the City. Traditional food served upstairs excellent, including home-made Egyptian bread made on the spot. So good we came back for our last night in Egypt, having stayed there when we first arrived! A joy to stay in. Nothing. Only thing we were sad about was that we never had the time or the stomach capacity to finish the tremendous traditional breakfasts!
