Guest Reviews
- Leith (6/5): Spacious apartment close to central Brussels in need of some updating - It is spacious and light in a good location for the centre of Brussels close to lots of cafes. Almost everything we needed was available apart from bin bags. Nespresso machine was appreciated. Bathroom was well appointed. There was some street noise late at night and early in the morning, worse over the weekend. Property is showing signs of disrepair and neglect though. Front door lock doesn’t work, door can be pushed open at any time. There are cigarette butts on the balcony. Light fitting in the bedroom has come away from the ceiling. There are several holes in the plaster, around windows with loose electrical, fan & aerial sockets.
- Amanda (9/5): Fabulous sized accommodation. Lots of space and nice and bright. - A very bright and airy room. Very close to the main attractions and not too far from Brussels Central station (you can walk) if travelling to other towns in Belgium.
Lots of cafes and bars nearby.
- Egle (7/5): Good -
- Joanna (9/5): Great apartment in superb location - The apartment was in a fantastic location within easy reach of cafes, bars, restaurants and close to the Grand Palace.
Spacious room with good facilities, bright and comfortable.
The Juliet balconies are great and although close to bars with the windows closed was fine for sleeping.
We were allowed to leave our luggage earlier than check in which was super helpful on our arrival in Brussels. Some small fixing of wear and tear could be done which would make this an even better place to stay.
- Angela (3/5): disappointed - This is in regards to Apartment #1. The property manager provided the door code on time and it worked perfectly. The location was very good, close walk to Grand Place and other sites, some very good restaurants, laundry & a market near by. The windows overlooking the street were bright and we enjoyed watching people from above. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen appliances we used, worked (coffee maker and microwave). The shower stall and toilet appear new and were clean. The wifi was strong and easy to logon. The cleaning lady was there when we dropped our luggage and she was very nice, showed us how to use the coffee pot. The things I would expect housekeeping to take care of (clean bed, linens, kitchen, shower toilet, floors) were done appropriately BUT this place is in desperate need of a deep cleaning, updating and maintenance. The photos on the website match the reality until you look more closely....read on. Our first impression was the entrance & stairway up were very dirty & the stairway smelled awful! The kitchen sink is badly stained & needs to be replaced. The kitchen faucet is loose & wobbly, feels like it's about to fall off, & squirts water around. There were no kitchen towels & only a partial roll of small thin paper towels (we bought more). I did not find dish soap or other cleaning products. Only 1.5 small rolls of toilet paper were in the bathroom for 3 days. The refrigerator door won't close without a hard push & there is a huge ice buildup inside. We received only 1 large & 1 small towel each.
ANTS were crawling around the counters.
Guests are told to make no noise after 10 PM but the noise on the street goes on till the wee hours. Closing the windows kept the noise out but had it been hot weather, there was no air conditioning, only a fan & open windows would have meant noise until 2 AM.
There is dirt/grime built up in the corners, walls & woodwork have cracks/chipped paint. The shower was just a trickle & the hot water lasted about a minute before going cold (I waited several minutes in the cold for one more minute of hot water to arrive, tried to complete my shower but had to wait several minutes again for more hot water). There is no lift/elevator, only 25+ narrow winding stairs to the first floor apartment. With a 50 lb suitcase this was a struggle. Nowhere on the website description can I find there is no elevator (likewise there is no mention of no A/C) - I have searched multiple times.
There are many glowing reviews, (and we were told to leave a good review!) They must be for Apartments 2 & 3. The issues are not the fault of the cleaning woman, they need to be addressed by the property managers & the website description corrected.
- Ewa (8/5): Very good - Location - absolutely perfect. Comfy beds, spacious, bright apartment. Local cafes and bars at the same street. Have never seen such a dirty windows in rented apartments. :D
- Eoin (8/5): Good place for a short stay to experience what Brussels and the surrounding area has to offer - Great location in terms for shops and restaurants. Reasonably close to the train station. The host was very responsive and very, very accomodating. Just some small things that would get the property to a 5 star review, like a welcome pack on how everything works. Shower was also inconsistent.
Great location in terns of nightlife, however this means there can be a bit of noise from the street.
The stairs were a pain, but we knew this in advance so no surprise there.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andres (10/5): Exceptional - Location is amazing, just a little walk away from a central plaza and a whole world of restaurants. Also fairly close to the train station, making for easy travel. The apartment is lovely, with big open windows and a nice layout.
- Hyder (9/5): Superb -
- Emily (1/5): Unfortunately not impressed - Mattress in room comfortable Unfortunately we found the apartment to be extremely unclean and in desperate need of renovation. Lots of stains/marks/surface dust throughout the apartment, evidence of previous guests staying in the apartment in the bathroom sink. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the owner of the property, quick response from him. Which resulted in the cleaning staff returning to the apartment to do a further surface clean. Unfortunately we did not feel this was satisfactory, as the apartment requires a deep clean, many problems/faults fixing, and stained items replacing before it is suitable to be listed on booking. We once again expressed our concerns to the owner, which resulted in an agreement of a full refund for our stay as we had to book further accommodation for the rest of our stay in Brussels. We were very disappointed that this occurred as the pictures listed on Booking are NOT a true reflection of how the truly apartment is. Also the smell of bins on entering the building is very off putting. We were grateful for the full refund and speedy response from the owner. Unfortunately we would not book here again.
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional - Apartment was lovely and modern, hosts were super helpful and the apartment was in an excellent location!
- Jessica (9/5): Great location and comfortable stay if you don’t mind a bit of noise in the evenings on the weekend. - Beautifully decorated apartment, with a modern look but still cosy. Comfortable double bed and a lovely big windows which makes it look even more spacious. Ideal location if you want to be close to the centre. Nice cafes for coffee and pastries very close by. We were able to drop our baggage off before check in as well which was very convenient for us. The only issue we had with the apartment was noise from the bar across the road, however this was only an issue on the Saturday night.
- Salvador (10/5): Exceptional - The location was incredible, the room was beautiful, it was a very enjoyable and pleaant experience. Robe was very helpful and responded immediately when i needed help with something. My next trip back, I will definitely be going through Robe.
- Valentin (10/5): I personally recomment this apartment - responsive host, great location, clean and cozy apartment with great view - Cozy, great location.
- Lizelle (9/5): Great location with comfortable beds and clean areas - Great location
Very clean
Good response from owner Hard to get in the front door with the current lock
- Radoslaw (9/5): Superb - First of all - the place looks the same as in the images and the view with windows makes this place so charming.
The location is perfect. I didn't expect to like this area so much.
I came for a couple of days to Brussels in business however thanks to the location I was going out every evening.
The bed is super comfortable - even better than mine at home:)
Very nice shower.
I like the idea of a keyless entrance so I do not have to worry about losing the key. The place needs refreshing. Some items are damaged and fixing them would make the place perfect.
Anyway even with those disturbing elements I will definitely be back there:)
- Arnoldo (9/5): Superb - Perfect size, and location for the stay. Couldnt ask for more.
- Erin (6/5): Pleasant - We were unable to use the door code that was given to us. I emailed but didn't get an answer back until the next morning but luckily, we were given the code to the key lockbox and we had a back up option to use the actual keys. It worked out but it was frustrating that we couldn't access the door without using housekeeping's copy of the key.
- A.h.a. (7/5): Good - Central location
Roomy and good natural light
Good coffee machine Noise stays until 3am from parties down stairs and street.
- Dennis (8/5): Very good -
- Gerald (8/5): Nice apartment in a pleasant part of Brussels - The apartment is self-catering, and there are numerous shops nearby to stock up. With this type of rental, you have the freedom to come and go, and it can resemble a home away from home. The stairs are narrow.
- Cepta (9/5): An enjoyable stay in an excellent location - We really liked the location, we were very close to everything, minutes from the centre, the metro station, cafes and restaurants. Very close to the main sights and to shopping etc. We also enjoyed the big window/French door in the apartment which we could open to the small balcony when we returned in the evening. Across the road from a very busy bar/cafe it was a great place to sit and soak up the atmosphere. We thought it would be noisy but once the door was closed the apartment was very quiet. Nothing we didn't like. Note - apartment is on the first floor so up a flight of steps.
- Epengfei (8/5): Very good - Great location for a very affordable price. High quality washing machine, dryer and kitchen appliances. The living room is spacious and enjoys a good view of the streets. The host responded to our requests professionally. The apartment could have been cleaner. The most basic cooking ingredients, e.g. salt and oil, are missing. No washing detergent was provided for the washing machine. Water temperature in the shower is tricky to control.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonia (5/5): Passable - The stairs are are realy worst that i could imagine, the pictures of the apartment doesnt reproduce the reality but the worst is the bathroom, there is no way to take a shower properly
- Jéssica (9/5): Superb -
- Juan (9/5): Perfect Location - The location is perfect, you can go walking to anywhere (main place, train station, shopping, etc, only 10 minutes to all The shower area has a very low ceiling, and you can't stand up. At night there is noise from the street, especially if you have the windows open since it does not have air conditioning, which in our case the visit was in summer
- Elaine (7/5): Good - Location was good, easy access to tourist attractions. Street Noise. When opening windows for fresh air at night, the street noise floated in. Cafe nightlife very active.
- Tania (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (5/5): Disappointed! - We were quite disappointed with this property based on the photos online. Recommend you read description carefully. There are horrid narrow / spiral stairs to the third floor. Lots of wear and tear in the stairs and apartment - the walls were filthy! Inside needs a good clean and some paint. The light coloured rugs were filthy. There is no shower but a bath on an attic ceiling so if you used the shower head to “shower” you couldn’t stand up straight! The kitchen could do with some tea towels! The cutting board was about the size of a big mobile phone!
You could say what it lacks makes up in location as you’re a sort walk to main attractions and amazing amount of restaurants and bars. It is noisy at night as you would expect in that location.
- Jessica (10/5): Highly recommend! - Bed is super comfy, apartment is beautiful! Great location. Check in and out was painless. Highly recommend! The automatic key thing was a bit annoying, there were several times where we had to enter the key multiple times to get it to unlock
- Halko (7/5): When everything works it should be a great stay - Great location; beautiful room. We had three days in the apartment; most of the time both the heating (very cold days) and the hot shower did not work. The host was really trying his best (a very kind and responsive person), but it is still true that we froze a lot and could not shower. The showerhead was also broken and when we could finally take a shower, it was only hand-held.
- Sarah (7/5): A pleasant stay - Great location. Bed was comfortable. Shower was pleasant - large and decent water pressure. Facilities show heavy wear and tear (eg shower curtain, coffee table, kitchen tops). Some essential facilities (eg tea towel, oven gloves) missing. Lock on door was very temperamental.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lizge (9/5): Great location - comfortable stay!! - Great stay!! Apartment was very spacious. Location was very close to everywhere we wanted to go. Apartment stocked fairly well. Kitchen utensils all available, we made breakfast at home most days.
Rooms good size - requested babycot for my toddler, and host was able to provide this so super happy.
Two bedrooms and a bathroom with tub, toilet, washing machine & drier upstairs and then also, one toilet downstairs (convenient!).
Free toiletries provided and plenty of spare towels/bedding.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Brussels and the apartment - thank you! We were on 3rd floor so lots of steps to get upstairs - unfortunately no lift, but it wasn’t a problem as we would spend most of our time out and about exploring the city.
- Pasemko (6/5): Great location. Disappointed with the apartment (old and worn) - The location was excellent. However it was on a main street and the noise was very loud until 2-3 am in the morning. The windows could have been better sealed to reduce the noise. The apartment was worn (well used) and needed a renovation. As well there were no essentials for cooking, not even salt and pepper.
- Kayher88 (8/5): Lovely apartment in a great location! - Great location, very close to the centre and all the tourist attractions. Lovely apartment with lots of amenities The shower wasn't great, you couldn't stand up in the shower or bath.
- Carmen (5/5): Not happy about our stay. - The apartment is very well located. The check-in process was really easy. The neighborhood is very noisy, the windows of the apartment are not prepared for that and we could hear all the noises of the street (party on the weekend, fights, ambulances...). The shower was very uncomfortable. The photos are not from the apartment where we stayed.
- Sau (4/5): Disappointing - Good location Bad showering experience due to the rooftop design and we could not stand straight to have the shower.
Late response from the host.
- Anuradha (8/5): Great value for money and excellent location - Bright rooms, comfortable beds Would have been nice to have more toiletries and washing up liquid for dishes cups etc
- Stephen (8/5): Close to central bars and cafes - Very close to town centre and within walking distance .
Nice people watching window . Very noisy upstairs with foot traffic and sliding chairs and tables .
Not sure the 10pm no noise policy includes anyone else except us ..
This happened the whole time we were on the apartment.
Not the families fault at all but living above a holiday rental could of been though about .
- Registers (6/5): Overall a good place to stay for a couple of days. - The location is very good, close to the square and tourist area.
The rooms are big and spacious. The washroom is big, but the tub is located in a corner where the ceiling is too low for even a child to stand up. The tub is also extremely slippery. The toiletries provided are so harsh that they led to a skin allergy.
There were clothes from a earlier guest in the dryer. The rugs were dirty and stained.
- Jozef (8/5): Very good -
- Danielle (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (8/5): Good place to explore Brussels - Spacious, light, clean and comfortable. Close to bars, cafes and restaurants. Short walk to the Grande Place. The new TV didn't work and the shower head was broken.
- Jasmine (10/5): Excellent - Excellent!!! This apartment was so close to everything and it had everything we needed. Great communication with the host. Highly recommend x
- Das (6/5): Pleasant - Great location
Pretty much in the city or at best 5 mins walk to the main dining and Gallery / shopping areas
Easy to communicate host
Very responsive On the night of 18 Jan at 940 pm approximately we were asleep - a man - middle aged late 30/early 40 - unlocked and opened the door and woke us up. As if he had a spare set of physical keys or knew the combination to the electronic lock. He seemed confused to find us in the apartment. Maybe he thought it was his apartment or I don’t know. He spoke NO English and I don’t speak French. Then he left and I locked the door from inside. I spoke to the property managers Zulfiqar on whatsapp message and voice call - he sent me a list of transactions on the lock - lock and unlock - and this guy unlocking the door wasn’t in the list! Zulfiqar offered me an alternative apartment but i refused as it was close to 11 pm and i didnt have any energy to pack and move with my wife in the middle of the night in sub zero freezing temperatures! I messaged Rahil the owner of the property. Both were shocked at this incident and claimed its the first time such an incident occured! I wanted to report this to the police but we were very tired and had a long day ahead of us so somehow talked myself out of it and somehow managed to go back to sleep.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, lovely room and very comfortable N/A
- Cássia (8/5): Very good -
- Lavanya (9/5): Loved the place - will definitely recommend. - The room was great - clean, spacious and well equipped with a great view’. The location is very good - in the city centre with easy access to transport links. The apartment manager was very prompt in responding to messages on WhatsApp and very helpful too. There were some issues with electricity tripping impacting access and WiFi. However, the apartment manager had these resolved promptly.
It would be good to have hand wash liquid soap in the bathroom and kitchenette.
The room was on the second floor and accessed via a not too wide staircase. Something to consider if you have a lot of luggage or require an ‘accessibility friendly’ place.
- Nikitesh (8/5): Very good -
- Marcello (8/5): Nice cozy studio in the center of Bruxsell. - It is a very cozy studio with a great view of the streets and very centered. We stayed on the first floor therefore the floor was ice cold.
- Rob (9/5): Fantastic host , lovely apartment inside, comfortable and location spot on - Location was amazing very close to Xmas markets and centre. Brussels is actually much bigger than we thought so location was really good . Property is kept very clean , host was extremely helpful . Layout is perfect there was 5 of us so plenty of space ( 3 adults and a teenager ) Coffee capsules and bottles of water were left for us . Apartment was really warm too which was great given the time of year . Beds were very comfortable. Couple of things needed updating like door handles but everything else perfect , The shape of the building leads to a couple of issues that you can’t really do anything about . Stairs are windy and steep and shower is on an awkward position. Maybe shower could be moved
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - The location of the apartment is great, the city centre and major attraction are walkable and easily accessible.
The apartment itself was great, very clean, great size. The bathroom was very clean, the shower had weak water pressure other than that everything was perfect!
- David (9/5): Fantastic mini break - Fantastic location- right in the heart of Brussels, everything is accessible on foot, we did not need the car at all. The beds were great but the sofa bed was very uncomfortable.
- Teresa (8/5): Very good -
- Blanca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizaveta (10/5): Comfortable apartment with great location - Very good location. Big, comfortable apartment. There was everything for cooking in the kitchen. Amazing view from the window and balcony. Large and bright bathroom with all hygiene accessories. Inside the apartment was a little bit cold at night, because the heater hasn't worked yet.
There was only one garbage bag, so it was impossible to take out the trash i nthe middle of the staying.
- David (8/5): Very enjoyable and good value. - Good location. Easy to walk into Brussels centre and to access the metro system. Apartment is a very good size and easy to locate. Did not get informed by the hosts that our arrival day coincided with a no car day in Brussels which occurs only once a year. We had to wait on Brussels outskirts for 3 hours. If we had known we would have gone to visit another place in Belgium on the day of our arrival. The stairs to the apartment are very steep and can be difficult if carrying a heavy suitcase.
- Anonymous (6/5): Nice stay with a couple inconveniences. - The location was perfect. The apartment was spacious and pretty comfortable The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked (need a new shower curtain and sink in the kitchen). There were a power outage due to a short circuit I believe while I was there… but the stay manager was very responsive and helped sort it out quickly. It was still an inconvenience
- Rosilu (7/5): Good - The location The TV location, impossible to see from the bed, the shower curtain (dirty), just one towel for each for a week.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Very convenient location and a nice clean modern apartment. It has lovely big windows with lots of light but we had to have the curtains closed all the time as all windows were overlooked by offices and flats and as the bed was in the middle of the lounge so there was no privacy.
- Stan.p. (9/5): Superb -
- Lawrence (10/5): Perfect central apartment in the heart of Brussels. - Beautiful apartment in very central location. Everything is within walking distance, which was very nice. Apartment was on third floor with no elevator. Not a problem if traveling light as we did, but caution if traveling with a lot of luggage or large bags.
- Dennis (9/5): Superb -
- Marshall (1/5): Bad service when needed to cancel - Bad service when needed to cancel Bad service when needed to cancel
- Tegan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (8/5): Lovely Brussels base - Location, location, location. The apartment was also spacious. Lovely window view to the activity outside. Shower water pressure.
- Koyejo (8/5): Very good - Shower not useable
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (8/5): Great location and lovely apartment - Great location, stylish and good communication from the host. Toilet hadn’t been flushed from previous guests/ cleaners.
- Angela (10/5): This is an immaculate, very modern property and a fantastic location. - This is an outstanding property, it’s immaculate, very modern and perfectly located. Less than 5 minutes walk from the main busy centre. I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re looking for a modern, immaculate property this is it! It has several bars and patisseries on your doorstep. To note, there is a narrow flight of steps up to the apartment and we had a slight issue with the keypad and entry, but otherwise no issues. These were minor issues for us.
- Carolina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous location, beautiful apartment, would recommend to anyone!
- Madelon (8/5): Very good - Great place, great location Shower in the bath under sloped ceiling
- Adriano (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic view, excellent location and very comfortable. Host was very kind and let us leave the luggage earlier.
