- Victoria (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY. It is a SCAM and the photos are completely misleading, the apartment includes a broken bed, broken bathroom door, blood on floor and chair. Upon checking into the apartment, we encountered several serious issues that made the property uninhabitable: A strong and unpleasant odour throughout the apartment, What appeared to be blood stains on the floor and a chair and A broken bed, rendering it unusable. The faulty bathroom door jammed, resulting in one of our friends being trapped inside for nearly an hour.
Despite being aware that our friend was trapped in the bathroom, the property failed to follow up or offer any meaningful assistance. Instead, they directed us to a remote handyman who was two hours away. He confirmed that the bathroom door was indeed broken, had required repairs before, and was likely to be an ongoing issue.
Given the apartment’s condition, we had to book alternative accommodation leaving us completely out of pocket, as we did not feel safe staying at the property (particularly given that the main door from the street was open when we arrived).
We strongly urge Booking.com to delist this property, as it does not match the description or images on your platform. The check-in process was also highly unprofessional—we were required to collect the keys from a local corner shop and were given no clear instructions on returning them.
The entire situation, including trying to find alternative accommodation, contacting customer service, and moving all of our belongings, caused significant stress and disruption. This was particularly frustrating as two members of our group were part of a bridal party and had important commitments that were affected.
