- tara (10/5): Good vibes, even better location! - I booked this accommodation for a week before I moved to my permanent housing. The location was perfect. Central areas only a few stops on the nearby train. Allen was super nice to me and gave me so much helpful advice about my upcoming job in Japan and also recommended me really nice places! The hosts were easy to locate and the house was spotless. The house itself is quiet, respectful and I felt safe and relaxed the whole time. There is a 7/11 located just beside the house which was so handy to grab a coffee/ a snack etc...Thank you both for the best possible start to my Japan journey!
- Delnia (10/5): A wonderful stay with kind and attentive hosts! - I stayed for a week here after coming to Japan for the first time and it was fantastic! The room was perfect, and there was even space for my suitcase under the bed. The bathroom and shared areas were kept clean, and the location near the Jujo shopping district meant everything you could need was nearby. The train station is also a short walk away, so it’s very convenient! Allen and Masae were also such wonderful and kind hosts, and went above and even beyond when I needed help - whether this was with the facilities or any questions I had about Japan! I’m not sure how I would have gotten around Japan for the first time without their help - it is clear that they care about their guests and want to ensure their comfort. I am very thankful to them for their kindness and support during my stay. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend staying here if you are coming to Tokyo!
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nur (10/5): Exceptional - Allen and Masae were amazing and helpful hosts and were very welcoming. It was a pleasure staying with them.
The property was a few minutes from Jujo JR Station which is about a 12 min ride to Shinjuku/16 to Shibuya so it was a well-connected area. There is another station nearby which also served another JR line. Lots of restaurants nearby.
- Manuel (8/5): Very nice! Great for the price - It's a simple flat with individual rooms which contain comfortable futons. For its price, I think it's a very good place to stay. The staff where very kind, they helped to create a comfortable environment and they helped me solving any problems I had in a quick moment. The owner also helped me to know some of the better places around the shopping area! The bathrooms where all very clean and there are multiple toilets available for use, so you can easily get from one to another by the stairs if the closest one to you is occupied. The rooms have a good amount of space, so it doesn't feel crowded or too small. The shower room is also quite spacious, you can sit in one of the stools and be very comfortable. Each room has an air conditioner too, which is quite handy. You also get an individual hair dryer that you can use in your bathroom. I asked about eating the food that I bought in my own room and they let me do, overall the staff is very chill and during my stay I felt at home.
But without a doubt the best part of the flat is the location. I didn't hear much about the Kita ward area before, so I thought it would be a remote area without much to do. Turns out it's located in a very nice shopping area where you can get some great food by a generous price (for example, fried meat or vegetables). There's also some ramen shops, bento shops, clothing shops, karaoke and even a hot spring bath. The station is very close too, so getting anywhere else in Tokyo is easy.
If you're travelling to Tokyo and you wish to stay somewhere for a couple nights, I highly recommend this place. During my stay, I can say that I felt very safe and the place gives a pretty nice vibe. If whoever is reading this has not been to the capital of Japan and doesn't want to spend a lot of money, I highly recommend this place to stay, as the other place that is cheaper is the capsule hotel in Kabukicho, which I strongly encourage to ignore. There's only one shower room, but there's not many people using during the time I stayed anyway. Getting to the flat may be confusing at first because you have to do the check in through the owner's shoe shop (the entrance to the flat is located near said shop), but outside of that the flat is highly recommended for anyone who wants to get into one of the cheaper places to sleep in Tokyo.
