- Mariana (10/5): Ons home-away-from-home.. we blijven maar terugkomen 😉 - Tijdens ons verblijf in Sunset Marquis hadden we in eerste instantie een kamer die wat tegenviel qua drukte en geluidsoverlast. Ook waren er enkele afspraken gemaakt met de conciërge ter gelegenheid van de verjaardag van mijn man, waaronder een verrassing en een extra bed op de kamer, maar deze waren helaas niet doorgekomen doordat de betreffende medewerker niet meer bij het hotel werkte. Toen we dit bij de receptie aangaven, kwamen we al snel in contact met de manager on duty: Sandrine. Wat een fantastische vrouw. Zij weet precies wat hospitality betekent. Ze luisterde met oprechte aandacht, toonde warmte en empathie, en handelde direct. Ze bood ons een gratis upgrade aan voor het ongemak en heeft ons met zoveel vriendelijkheid geholpen dat dit ons verblijf echt bijzonder heeft gemaakt. Wij zijn zeer tevreden over het personeel bij Sunset Marquis, maar Sandrine verdient in het bijzonder een groot compliment. We stayed in the main building for a few nights and felt home. The room is quite spacious, with a refrigerator available for guests to store their stuff, free bottles of water and coffee capsules every day . If you want to skip the good valet service, there is a public parking available around the corner. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, they have handled our package deliveries super well and shown us all the hotel merch, which is awesome (book, shirts, etc). The hotel has a restaurant with excellent food options for breakfast, lunch or dinner and a good bar that goes until 2am. And checkout is at 12, not the classic 11am. Finally, the hotel itself has a fantastic decoration, with pictures of rock musicians all over, a gallery with great rock books and pictures for, a cozy pool and a full recording studio that is definitely worth a visit. Excellent place to be in LA!

The concierge in particular was very helpful. We enquired about a rooftop bar & 5 minutes later we had a table reserved and were driven there in the hotel car! A lovely moment & a little window into LA life. The food was excellent & the mocktail menu exceptional. We will be back! Our only gripe was our neighbours who smoked pot & the smell was so strong in our room. We did not complain. It was New Years & we didn't want any stress. And the smell is everywhere in LA.

The staff were incredible - so helpful and friendly - and even arranged a late check-out. The complimentary transfers into town were super convenient, and the concierge made everything effortless. From the moment you step on property, you feel the history - like you’re part of the long line of artists, musicians, and dreamers who’ve made this place their hideaway. There’s a certain magic in the air here, equal parts rock ’n’ roll and old Hollywood charm. The restaurant is fantastic - every meal felt spot-on, and you can tell they take real pride in the food. And the piano bar? Just plain fun. It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time because the energy is that good. The rooms could use a little updating here and there, but honestly, they’re so comfortable and welcoming that it didn’t matter. I loved staying here and can’t wait to come back.

- Lauren (10/5): Have a fabulous time, just stay away from the bar - Pool great. Atmosphere with all the rock ‘n roll photos was fabulous. Staff were exceptional. Room came with (unexpected) free bottle of wine that was the same that I had at the restaurant, where the food was unbelievable. Neighborhood was walkable to groceries and many restaurants. Only problem was bar where there were only 3 people but the bartender totally ignored us when we came in for a nightcap. After a few minutes (!!!) left, feeling very unwelcome. It was our last night, so could have left a really sour spot on the whole experience. But one person shouldn’t bring down an entire property.

- TravelMomRM (10/5): Best of the Best Experience - I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The Sunset Marquis is such a beautiful setting. The staff bent over backwards to provide service and accommodate requests. We booked the Superior Double Suite for our family of four. It was incredibly spacious and immaculate. The bathroom was massive, including the shower (which had a wonderful rainfall in the middle, and a traditional to the side if preferred) The beds were extremely comfortable, I slept like a queen. Initially the cost per night for the room was higher than I might usually book, but after factoring in parking, a breakfast credit and drinks the value for the experience was there. You also have access to a gym, which we ran out of time to utilize. They are renovating some of the villas. They are doing a really wonderful job keeping it quiet and out of focus. The two pools were very relaxing all with fresh towels. Valet was super quick and friendly. I don't believe there is an option to self-park. The hotel is nestled in a quiet street with a mix of houses and other nice hotels. It feels like you're in a neighborhood, which is so nice. The restaurant Cavatina was so tranquil. Outstanding food, beautiful tropical like setting, and excellent service. Bar 1200 is equally exceptional. There was an excellent keyboard player when we stopped in Tuesday night. Such a fun end to the day. The location, in my opinion is perfect. I can't wait to plan my next trip, Sunset Marquis is at the top of my list for my next visit.

Not only did the Manger graciously comp us for one night, we were given a complimentary upgrade from a King Suite to a Villa. The Villa was truly a five star setting. I have stayed at five star luxury hotels throughout the United States, Canada and Europe and the elegance of the Villa at The Sunset Marquis Hotel is equal to that of the suites Biltmore Mayfair in London, the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan, etc. And the excellent concierge service—24/7—included room service, booking reservations at restaurants, info about local attractions and events, etc. The Sunset Marquis Hotel is a beautiful hideaway in the heart of Hollywood nestled in a lush Zin-like garden oasis. - mirabelle1202 (6/5): Great hotel, terrible soundproofing - A well located hotel with great staff. The big problem for us was the soundproofing. We were originally in room 117 on the ground floor, which is big but quite gloomy with plants growing in front of the windows. We're not particularly light sleepers but we were woken up three times during the night, either by the plumbing or by the person in the room overhead walking around at 2 am. We went to see front desk the next morning and they were kind enough to move us straight away to a smaller but much nicer room on the third floor, overlooking the pool. The only issue with the room was the bathroom door which had rails at the top but was swinging free at the bottom, so very cumbersome and awkward to use. This time, we had nobody overhead, but we were woken up every morning by the lady in the room next door, making phone calls from 6:30 am onwards, requesting room service or calling her friends to discuss her upcoming surgery and various other issues that I am sure she would not normally share with complete strangers. We didn't mention it at front desk this time because there's not much they could have done, but we were surprised that a hotel of this standing would have such terrible soundproofing. A huge pity, because it is a really nice place.
- The (10/5): An historic place to stay with a renovation that has taken nothing away from it's original allure! - I've not been here for years and I was hoping the refurb hadn't taken anything away from the atmosphere. But it was all I'd hoped and more. Lovely restaurant and food, in a great location with a nice view. Room was very spacious at a good price. When I come back to LA I'm definitely booking here again

- milloz (10/5): Rock & Roll - We stayed for three nights at the beginning of our vacation and returned for another three nights on the way back. During our first stay, we had a room with a balcony overlooking the main pool (there are two pools in total). The room was a good size, with a spacious bathroom and a large shower. For our second stay, we were upgraded to a villa near the restaurant—again, a great space with an impressively sized bathroom. The gardens & koi pond are beautiful. The memorabilia around the hotel is also very interesting. We had dinner at Cavatina one night and enjoyed drinks each evening at Bar 1200. The staff were all exceptionally friendly—special thanks to Sandrine, Logan, Josh, Peter, and Ray. The hotel car was an added bonus. We also met some interesting fellow guests during our stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
- sarahmB5709RB (10/5): Hotel California - My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at the Sunset Marquis as the first stop on our Honeymoon California road trip. 3 nights was not long enough! We absolutely loved the hotel, it was warm and welcoming, full of cool music nostalgia, delicious food and drinks, amazing room etc. Little did I know the Anthony Hopkins would be stood by the very same guitar 3 weeks later! We loved meeting Logan (hope you found your ring). We were extremely lucky to be able to experience a night in Bar 1200 on our last night in the presence of the extremely talented Adam Chester & Charlie Hay, WOW! Thank you to the staff for our wonderful honeymoon gesture, so lovely! The hotel is private, off the beaten track and is such a gem. We can't wait to visit this incredible hotel again one day.

There were so many things I liked that I can write and names I can take but I do not want to invade the private space of anyone so would refrain from mentioning names here but will say there were some stars at breakfast and it was just so nice to feel you are having breakfast along with some of the accomplished people in Hollywood. The location and the surroundings of the area are all amazing. The property itself is beautiful. Valet service is excellent. Just driving and walking around the place motivates you when you see all the success around you and there is so much to achieve in life! I would say if you want to have an inspiring and feel good stay with excellent staff support and service, this is your place. Thanks to the guys at the reception for giving me a free upgrade upon check in. Meant a lot to us. Fantastic stay 😍😍

- Christian (10/5): 4 star Hotel with a 5 star team! - One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! The location is great, because it's close to all the attractions, the neighbourhood is safe, it's a legendary hotel with a lot of musical history, it has all the amenities you could ask for (pools, gym, bars, restaurant etc.) and the staff is outstanding. We got a free upgrade of our room, only because we were staying more than a week. The room was quiet and spacious with a separate living area, a balcony and the bathroom was big enough for two for a longer stay. We had a little accident on the 2nd day of our stay and my partner was unable to walk but the staff were so helpful and courteous! We received crutches & a wheelchair for the entire rest of our stay, the crew helped us to find medical assistance and we were asked all the time, if we needed any help. It felt like home away from home. Thanks to the staff of the Sunset Marquis, we were still able to enjoy our vacation and we'll stay here again, the next time we travel to Los Angeles.

- Elizabeth (9/5): My favorite hotel in LA - The location makes it right in the middle of everything. I love the outdoor areas. Beds are very comfortable. Only one complaint. One area which REALLY needs improvement is the lighting in the bedroom area. There are no bedside lamps offering softer late night illumination. Instead there are only bright white recessed ceiling lights above each of the 2 sides of the bed. These beam down a bit too harshly which can be unpleasant for the person who wants to go to sleep when another wishes to stay up and read. Also the light switches to these are reversed: the switch on the left turns the light on over the right side of the bed and visa versa. I’ve stayed in the hotel several times and this is consistent in each of the rooms I’ve been in.

- shawnm904 (10/5): A Wonderful, Calm and Quiet Hotel - I had a wonderful stay at the Sunset Marquis. This was my third time staying there in the past 18 months, so I obviously like it. It's truly an oasis of calm right in the middle of West Hollywood. The location is great! It's just below the Sunset Strip, but far enough removed where you don't hear the noise of that lively area. It's within walking distance of a lot of places. (Granted, I'm a New Yorker, so walking is a preferred mode of getting around and longer distances don't bother me.) I also like the size of this hotel. I would describe the hotel as medium size, but it feels pretty intimate. It's not a high rise, so you don't get grand views of LA, but the lush landscaping makes for a calming environment. The rooms are great too. This time I upgraded to one of their Villa rooms and I loved it. Previously I stayed in two room suites in the main hotel building and those rooms are great, but the Villa rooms are exceptional. If you can swing it, I highly recommend getting a villa room. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice. I received a lot of help from Sara and Logan. They were both so incredibly friendly, but all the staff was great.
