• Nina (3/5): Nope - The owner lent me his power bank when the electricity went out for over 12 hours. The view from the other side of the road is good! The location is right next to a busy road and the walls are very thin. Also the a/c was unbelievably loud. I found it difficult to sleep, so bring good earplugs! In addition, there was a smell of sewage emanating from the bathroom.
• Noam (3/5): Staying here for four nights was definitely too long. Good location, wouldn’t come back. - The location is really good with Mountain views and a two minute walk from the town center. The kitchen had a horrible odor, our bed came with an awful smelling blanket, no hot water, and ants all over the room.

• Polke (3/5): - Good location. Walking distance to shop, stores, and restaurants. Solo room with bathroom had a putrid smell of sewage. Unit is very small and shower did not have hot water. A/c did not really work and room was relatively hot at all times. Mattress was in very poor shape and could feel all of the springs. No blankets provided. Pillows were old and poor quality. Room needs completely redone.
• Dorka (6/5): - It’s a relatively reasonable accommodation for one or two nights in La Fortuna, due to its cheap price and its proximity to the center. You can cook some easier dishes at the kitchen. If you don’t expect too much from a stay it can be a good option for the price. The bathroom was clean. The rooms are small and the bed is not comfortable. Our room (#4) looked right at the street which was really loud even at nights. There’s not much space in the common areas either, so we tried to spend as little time there as we could. For more days (we stayed four) you should look for a better lodge.

• Aurel (7/5): Simple room for a reasonable price. - Esteban is super friendly. The room is simple but fine. The kitchen has everything you need. It's close to the city and river to swim. The noise of the street. The curtains could be a bit better to block out the sun when you want to sleep a bit longer. I think something was wrong with the pipes, cause it had a unpleasant smell in my room.

• Toon (8/5): prima - een basic kamer met douce en wc. Je kon de gemeenschappelijke keuken gebruiken. rustig gelegen met een fantastisch uitzicht op de arenal-vulkaan, maar slechts een paar minuten lopen naar het centrum. De eigenaar is erg behulpzaam en via hem kun je ook tours boeken.

Quarto simples e limpo. O Estaban é maravilhaso. Me ajudou muito antes e durante a minha viagem. Faltaria um abajur. E talvez uma segunda tomada mas fora desses pequenos detalhes, nada a dizer !!

L’atmosfera è rilassata e accogliente, Coco è super disponibile e sempre pronto a dare una mano o un consiglio su cosa fare nei dintorni. La piscina è una chicca: perfetta per rilassarsi dopo una giornata di escursioni o mare. Tutto pulito, curato e con un bel clima tra ospiti. Un posto dove tornerò volentieri — grazie Coco! 🌴😎

• Benjamin (9/5): - It was a great location, just 5 minute walk from the center of town. The host Esteban was great and very accommodating for our needs. The kitchen was clean and had all the necessary tools to cook basic things. Beds were comfortable enough. The only downside is the traffic outside, but was expected to be honest
• Janice (6/5): If you’re a good sleeper or use decent earplugs then it’s a great option price wise & for location. - Esteban was extremely helpful & accommodating. The property is clean and close to some good options for eating, as well as being very near to several of the sloth sanctuaries & other activities. You couldn’t ask for a nicer, more understanding host than Esteban. Unfortunately the property is on a very busy road, with trucks rattling past & motorbikes revving throughout the night making sleep very difficult causing us to cut our stay short. I would suggest requesting a room at the back of the property if you are a light sleeper, as they would be quieter.

• Birdie (9/5): It was a pleasant stay. Thank you, Esteban! - There are 3 rooms inside and two rooms outside the main building. I had 1 couple outside the building with own suite and 1 couple shared toilet. I had nice companies, but not so crowded. The room is small. But everything you need is there, no eg: wardrobe, many coat hangers and fan. Esteban comes to check how we are every night. When I was only one staying, we had a long chat. It was nice to know how he started this accommodation and how hard he works to improve (That's why our reviews are important!). One day after I went to waterfalls, my left leg was puffed. As I have just had an operation on the left foot, I was a bit worried about it. Esteban offered to drive me to the clinic in the town. Then on the following day, he offered to take me to the next town in order to catch the bus to Nicaragua border because he was worried about my leg, walk to the bus terminal here. I am travelling solo, I am so relieved to know someone here cares his guests and sooooo helpful/reliable. Thank you! It was a microwave in the kitchen! But there weren't an oven and oven top. Instead, two electronic pans and pots. I don't care about the oven, but it took a long time to cook using the electronic pan.

• Max (8/5): Okay - Esteban (the owner) ist really nice and friedly! The kitchen is really Clean. You can book Trips (we did Rafting really cheap) and wash your clothes for a good price. All in all for this price its good as it is one of the cheepest we found. !!! Dont leave anything on the terasse as there are thiefs who steal everything (even our wet clothes) The rooms located at the streets are very loud as there are driving Cars and Motorbikes all night. There is Just one bathroom for maybe 5 rooms which could be really annoying.

I rented a bike and could zip to town super quickly for grocery trips, etc. Because it’s on a main road into town, there is some road noise. It quiets at night except for a few motorcycles.

• Ellie (8/5): A decent room for a decent price - Beautiful view of the volcano. Basic kitchen facilities for guests to use, which is great because food is expensive in Costa Rica. The person who runs the place was hard to get hold of when we were there. We organized tours etc ourselves rather than through them, but there's lots to do in the area so it wasn't much of an issue. The room was small and had a bad smell.
• Tawny (6/5): - We rented a car and could park right in front. The property manager never received reservation from Orbitz and we had a hard time contacting him upon arrival. Had to borrow the bike rental neighboring business’ phone to call him. He doesn’t receive payment from Orbitz either and we had to go back and forth to dispute. Cheap place to stay if you just want to quick overnighter with no frills.
• Jonas (6/5): Smelly bathroom made it uncomfortable - Esteban is very nice and eager to help, location is very close to the center of La Fortuna, kitchen w/ fridge can be used My major issues: 1) Strong smells from the bathroom (that is part of the room, separated by a thin plastic division that does not extend to the ceiling), no windows that could be opened to get fresh air (but A/C) (There was some odor dispenser to counter the smell, but I could not stand these artificial odors either.) 2) Some ants and flies, not a massive issue, but ants at the wall next to the bed make them enter the bed Not major: A/C is noisy, street also very loud, no chair or table in the room, tiny sink with a power cable hanging across

We cooked and that saved us money. * 5 mins walk to the pizzeria * The bathroom in our room isn’t fully closed. It has a gap between the ceiling and the door. If one of us needs to use the toilet, the other one leaves the room.
• Giulia (7/5): Good - Esteban was a very nice and friendly host, always reactive when we had some questions. The place is very well located, few minutes walk from the bus terminal, from a nice spot on the river called El Salto and from lot of shops and restaurants. There is also a direct view on the Arenal volcano from the patio ! The shared kitchen was pretty well equipped for a short stay and the place was clean. It was very humid in the room but dehumidifier/AC worked well. Our room window was only few meters from a main road, so we had a lot of noise since early in the morning. Also our room had a different entrance from the rest of the apartment, where the shared bathroom was, and the occupants of the others rooms locked the door from the inside during the night, so we had no access to the bathroom till the next morning. It was not the fault of the owner of the place of course, but just be sure to talk with the others guests and remind them to not lock the door.

• Anothertreehouse (8/5): Very good - Very friendly owner!! nice outdoor terrace, excellent view of the volcano. There is a kitchen there (a little bit old), and shared living room area. Good location close to the center and shops. I confirm that the room is a little bit noisy, as there is quite a busy road nearby. The room is rather small (but you wouldn't want to stay in the room if you're visiting La Fortuna :) My private room had only a very small window.

• Linden (9/5): Great value and lovely owner - This accomodation is cheap but has everything you need! We had a great stay, mostly thanks to Esteban the owner. Esteban organised a tour of Rio Celeste for us which was a great day out. He was also very helpful providing bus times, travel info, recommendations etc. The accomodation has a kitchen that whilst there is no oven or stovetop there is electric fry pans, rice cookers, kettles and plenty to make a good meal. There is only bathroom for quite a few rooms which if it was fully booked out might bother some people.
• Paul (9/5): Excellent value for money - Excellent value for money. Great location. Close to a supermarket, which was good to utilise the kitchen. Esteban was very friendly, helpful and responsive. He organised a shuttle to Monteverde for us that was cheaper than anywhere else we could find. I even got an invite to go and play Soccer with his local friends. Our room was next to the kitchen and other guests used the kitchen loudly every morning at 3am. No idea what they were doing. But the owners can’t help inconsiderate travellers.

Have your earplugs ready. * There was Air Conditioner, but also very noisy. * The bathroom can unfortunately gets quickly dirty, while shared between 5 rooms.

• Diana (9/5): Superb - We had a wonderful experience in this Casa. The host was really nice. He immediately helped us with everything and told us about nice places to visit in La Fortuna. He even did some quick laundry service for us. The rooms were clean and we got everything we needed. The kitchen had the best equipment I have seen in hostel kitchens so far, including a big refrigerator for our food. The view from the veranda was beautiful because we had a perfect view on the vulcano. The location of the Casa was perfect, too. We could reach the river, the city park and mutliple restaurants within a few minutes. I can really recommend to stay at this Casa! The air in the room was not that good, because we could not really ventilate it with the small window. Air conditioning would be cool (some rooms have it, ours didn't) but the Ventilator was okay, too

• Lindsay (8/5): Extended my stay for 1 day..Esteben was very helpful..teeny bit out of town, but did like looking ev - I really enjoyed seeing the vilcano every day. Esteben gave several suggestions where to visit and arranged an excellent tour to cover what I wanted to see in La Fortuna- the volcano, waterfall & tubing. To see the volcano, it was on one of the main highways and there was traffic almost every minute..guess I just got used to the traffic noise & over- looked that
