Guest Reviews
- Peter (1/5): Worst place in Antugia should not be sold on booking.com - Nothing it was so bad we had to leave tge resort within half hour of arriving they deductedan additional usd$200 fpr security deposot amd we did not even stay. I wish to have a full refund. The place was discusting rotten room water leaking from the light fittings tiny bed for 2 people. The place was dirty the food at the grill was old slimy chicken that had been out all day.
- Siobhan (7/5): Amazing location but resort needs some work - Location is really amazing. Stunning beach and not very busy. - We went April. Food choices at the Palms Buffet was great at each meal. Our room was a generous size wth a great view - we chose king size with a sea view. Staff in Long bar were excellent Towels and room service are only once a week. Only other place to have evening meal you had to book for and guests were queueing before 7am to book! Decor a bit tired especially in common areas and bathrooms. Wine warm. Gym very poor facilities.

- David (10/5): Awesome place awesome staff. - The staff is awesome and the is delicious. Nothing. I love the property. It’s awesome!!!

- Guy-Chin (5/5): My stay wasn't exceptional. It was just ok for sleep, eat and leave. Like a sleep over than a hotel. - beach was good. breakfast was limited dinner was fair. staff showed indifference to me as a jamaican. only felt welcomed from the jamaican staff.
- Daniel (1/5): - Nothing..
- Nessa (6/5): - The location was amazing, the staff were amazing, the drinks were good The floor in our room wasnt very cleanand the food was ok.. However, I would absolutely go back and stay again.
- Yomen-wilson (7/5): - The beach was definitely fun The lack of food options
- werner (1/5): -
- David (9/5): We were there for 3 days, had a lot of fun . Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Good value for money ! - Amazing location , stunning beach , lovely pool area, fun and friendly staff . Entertainment was not great . Food was okay
- Ramnarine (1/5): Horrible - Nothing Everything,the staff,the facilities,the service
- Michael (1/5): Suggest avoiding - Not much. The beach is nice. Very dated, poorly maintained, well past its prime.
Food was poor. Opted to eat outside of hotel.
For room itself, broken safe, broken toilet seat, sand in bed on arrival and a/c unit over one of our beds spewed debris onto bed throughout night.
- Sean (8/5): - The pool n the food Game room needs more things n so does the gym
- Selma (5/5): A beautiful beachfront location with great value, but let down by dated rooms, cleanliness issues - The beach was definitely one of the highlights of the stay...beautiful, with long stretches of white sand and clear turquoise water. When I visited, finding a lounger could take a bit of time depending on how early you went out, but it never took too long to find a free one.
Breakfast was good overall, with a nice mix of options like fresh fruit, pastries, and hot dishes. There was also an omelette station, which was a nice touch. It wasn’t anything extraordinary, but there was enough variety that you’d be hard pushed not to find something you liked.
Dinner offered a decent variety as well. There were some staple options available across meals, and while some dishes were just okay, there were definitely moments where certain dishes really stood out and were genuinely very good. The main issue for me was the condition of the room. It felt quite dated and not particularly clean, with noticeable stains on the curtains and bed linen. The bathroom light also wasn’t working, and overall the room felt quite dark and a bit dingy.
There were also a lot of mosquitoes, which was probably the biggest frustration during the stay. It was especially noticeable at the beginning, and while you do get a bit more used to it over time, it’s definitely something to be aware of. Keeping the fan on in the room seemed to help a bit.
In terms of service, it was a bit inconsistent. Some staff—particularly at the bar—were really friendly and welcoming, but interactions at reception could feel less warm at times and a bit abrupt depending on who you spoke to.
- ken (9/5): Our second time there-we will be back. It's really a very nice lo-key place to be! - We love the location. The staff is fine. Some of the staff are very good - the lady in the restaurant (sorry I should know her name!) is really someone special. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. The beach and the amenities (simple tiki hut shade structures) are perfect. The music at the main pool. We think it didn't fit the clientele. Noticed that other thought the same. Maybe don't try to be the hippest, be more laid-back. Also, the sound system really lacked... it wouldn't take much to improve the audio quality at the pool bar. A good example is Sandra's right next door...high quality sound and reggae music. I'm not saying it has to be reggae music all the time - but most of us are looking to get away from the typical obnoxious noise of our everyday lives. Reggae, blues, roots based music does the trick.
- Jonathan (7/5): Beautiful beach stay, hotel perfectly adequate - The beach! Fantastic. The sea was soooo blue. The hotel itself is a bit dated and tired but it does the job for what we needed and as long as you are not expecting a 5 star experience in a 3 star hotel it works perfectly well. The bed we had was comfortable. We had a sea view balcony which was really lovely. There was entertainment at one of the bars 6/7 nights, which was a bit noisy sometimes but not a problem. We enjoyed the entertainment a couple of nights, especially sitting at the long bar with the friendliest of the bar staff. The other nights were not so much our cup of tea. We don't usually go for hotel entertainment but actually quite enjoyed it. The buffet food was ok, some good choices each day, we preferred it to the Italian restaurant (dinner) that you had to book to go to - as there was more choice. Breakfast was good, with fresh eggs cooked for you. There was quite a bit of queueing - for the bar / drinks and for food sometimes. The bars seemed to need to have more staff. Some of the staff were smiley and seemed happy to be there but, unfortunately, quite a lot of the staff especially in the bars and restaurants seemed quite miserable. If you want to eat at the pizza restaurant you have to get up at 7:30 to get in the queue - it wasn't worth it in our opinion. We went once. Check in and check out were vey slow - again not enough staff at the critical times.
- Danielle (10/5): This was one of the best trips I have ever taken. - The meals were good always had an option for everyone who was there. The beach was good. The facilities were also good. The staff was exceptional always welcoming and helpful. Especially the bar staff. 10/10 I cannot say there was anything about Jolly Beach Antigua that I did not like.
- David (6/5): An enjoyable stay overall if you are prepared to overlook the shortcomings of the hotel. - The location was ideal on Dickenson Bay Beach which was spectacular. As there were mainly adults present on Easter Weekend , it was very relaxing and quiet but came alive at night at the Long Bar where entertainment was enjoyable. The laid back nature of the Resort was a plus. The quality of food and drinks was fine but not great and you get what you pay for. The breakfast buffet was second to none. Eyshanna at the Reception was outstanding. Kudos to her for facilitating to our needs. The Italian restaurant was quite good. Some dishes at the lunch and dinner buffet were not replenished if you didn’t reach early enough so get there very early!! There were very long lines at the Coconut Grill and its bar for food and drinks during their opening hours for lunch. It never shortened. The Coconut Grill is very popular for the beachgoers and the pool bathers. The service was very slow at the Grill and the bars. Additional staff is recommended. A hotel employee entered our room and removed the telephone without being asked to do so. A report was made and a telephone was installed. The A/C was leaking and it was resolved after a report was made. Our room was just above the Italian restaurant so it was quite noisy throughout the day . Guests placed their towels on the beach chairs very early in the morning to “reserve” the chairs, although many actually got there in the late morning. This is a terrible practice. The hotel in general is quite dated . The rooms and bathroom are quite small and an upgrade would not go amiss.
- Veeda (7/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Beautiful beach and a friendly hotel - The property is clean beds are comfortable and its sitting on the most beautiful beach. The buffet restaurant always had something we could enjoy for our breakfast and dinner, the beach grill was busy but offered a good choice for lunch. The long bar is great, good to meet people and chat, and the staff are incredibly hard working and make the best cocktails Some areas need a little TLC, but nothing worried us. The booking system for the pizza restaurant was not good, having to wait in a queue for a 7.30
List: there must be a better way of getting a table.
- Vijai (6/5): -
- Joanne (9/5): A lovely resort for a relaxing holiday. - Really friendly staff. All meals were varied and excellent quality. The resort was kept spotlessly clean and the gardens well cared for. The beach was beautiful with well spaced out umbrellas & beds. It was great to have 2 pool areas as the quiet pool suited us.
- Yogeeta (7/5): -
- Lisl (7/5): Great stay for an affordable price. - The beach was beautiful. No seaweed or rocks. The beds were very comfortable. The room got chilly at times and I couldn’t adjust the temperature. The food was very good with lots of options. Didn’t like how the bathroom floor got very wet after a shower. Very annoying. Not able to turn the AC down and my bathroom floor got extremely wet after a shower. Otherwise, had a great stay for the price.
- Carol (7/5): Been here multiple times Rooms small but but best beach on the island. Still love it and all of its quirks. - Loss of electricity for entire day and night
- Stephen (8/5): - Excellent location, the best beach on the island!
- Deborah (8/5): Cheap and cheerful; we loved it! - On beach! Great swimming pools; food really good. Rooms and access to rooms seen better days but this is reflected in price.
Sunbeds bit dodgy but 3 star hotel so expected.
Reception very disorganised, needs a rethink! I hate having to scan QR code!
- ROSSELLA (9/5): -
- jameal (10/5): -
- Gilly (5/5): - Location great
People very friendly Power outages
- Charvin (4/5): - Nearness to the beach The internet in the room was intermittent and the staff didn’t seem to care
- Claudia (6/5): -
- Berta (5/5): Befriedigend - Zimmer: Sanitäranlagen katastrophal. TV sehr schlechten Empfang. Strand sehr schön. Essen ausreichend.
- Marina (5/5): Honestly, the only thing I liked about this hotel was that it was right on a beautiful beach. The bathroom was very smal - I liked that the property was close to the beach No proper shower head, very small bathroom. It looks like something from the 1970’s
- Gina (9/5): Beautiful area and lovely surroundings - Beach was amazing Security was great
- Karen (7/5): - I liked the beach. The bed was comfortable. The food was good for the most part. Some staff were friendly. Head of security, Terence was great and vey hospitable. The hotel manager Terence and his assistant should not be employed by the hotel as they have no people skills and are despicable. I was injured badly at the hotel. l. The manager did nothing that he said he would. Neither did his assistant
- Pablo (7/5): -
- Dudey (8/5): -
- Nicola (1/5): - La posizione Il personale è la struttura in generale poco curata
- Deena (5/5): A clean room, decent food, beach and a frozen drink then this it. They are trying - Check in was easy. Room was clean very close to beach and beds were comfortable. Be sure to bring your own water bottle. Grocery store is very close if need to get something. I did not like that the air conditioning worked for about 12 hours in 5 days. When you shower the water does not stay in shower you have a flooded bathroom. The toilet seat was so cheap and didn't fit the toilet. Our bathroom door was broken. You are not provided water bottles-Be sure to bring your own
- Bob (5/5): - Not a fan of the buffet. pool and beach were great. Drinks so so.Service was minimal Staff not that friendly Place was run down. Rooms and TV along with wifi were sub par.
- Reene (7/5): -
- Lana (7/5): Overall, we spent a wonderful Christmas at Jolly Beach, but there are areas for improvement. - The hotel is perfectly located practically on the beach. Peaceful with a nice long stretch of sand making a leisurely walk a worthwhile activity. The food options at the hotel were excellent with lots to choose from. Also, the meals were tasty, especially the succulent BBQ ribs on Christmas night ~wow!!! The entertainment was nice, especially the live steelpan music whilst having breakfast on Christmas morning was lovely. Additionally, on Christmas night the DJ was fantastic ~we danced a lot!!! There is no WIFI in the room. This was a great inconvenience for us. It seems like the wifi was only strong in the lobby area. It was difficult to get any signal in the restaurant and bar areas. Also, check in was slow with scanning of QR code and filling in details using personal mobile phone on arrival. That was a turn off. Room was not ready on time either. Had to wait too long. On arrival at the room, at least a bottle of water in the fridge would have been nice. The fridge was empty, considering it was an All Inclusive hotel. We had to buy bottle water at the nearby shop on the beach. Another thing that made my stay uncomfortable was the air conditioned unit that was directly over the bed which I found annoying as it dripped water on head and kept disturbing my sleep.
- Susan (8/5): Fabulous - Beach & pool stunning.
- Jane (10/5): Fantastic resort, people and location - All the food was great - traditional but catered for others, the location made the resort - right on the sea and the staff were so lovely a few repairs needed here and there
- Colleen (3/5): - The beach Room above kitchen, banging all day and night. Bathroom drain did not work, called 4 times before fixed.
Food not good.
- Smart Investor (7/5): -
- Andreas (5/5): geht so, renovationsbedürftig - Lage in Strandnähe Essen zu wenig
schrecklich angerichtet
- Sarah (9/5): Perfect - Freshly made omelettes on request Nothing
- Solange (5/5): -
- Michelle (5/5): Beautiful beach but food and rooms are not good - You can’t beat the beachfront location it’s gorgeous. Pools are also beautiful. Staff was nice - Judith, Kiara and Jahquan all lovely. Housekeeping does not come at all. We asked for towels and never got them. Our room flooded due to heavy rain and we couldn’t get any towels to clean up. Food was a major let down. I don’t mind a buffet for breakfast and lunch but it was very disappointing to not have more nicer options for dinners. We wound up going into the Marina one night for dinner just to get a good meal. Rooms are OLD. I don’t usually mind but they were really dirty and small. This is such a beautiful property and location but desperately needs to get better food options and a major update to rooms.
- Susan (9/5): Definitely recommend - Great location, fabulous clean soft white sand beach. Waves were perfect. Very relaxing all inclusive holiday. Felt safe for a solo stay. Unbelievable acqua sea views and sunsets. A ray surfaced near me!
- Greg (5/5): Get what you pay for😒 - The location, the staff and the beach were great. The rooms and hotel are so dated. The food in the buffet for lunch and dinner were horrible. No variety and what they had was terrible. Even the desserts were bad. The icing on the cake was no hot water on our last day!
- Annie (9/5): I went to a wedding, overall my stay was really nice. Totally enjoyed the embience. - Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent beach, breakfast and dinner. Over enjoyed my stay at Jolly Beach Hotel.
- Stephen (1/5): Don’t go near - Reception terrible. Didn’t seem to have a clue
- Rohana (9/5): My stay was fantastic - The drinks and the breakfast Had too walk far too get too my room
- Jessica (2/5): Terrible - Beach and pool had plenty of chairs available Food was terrible
Room smelled awful and was just dirty and outdated
Overall, terrible resort. You get what you pay for, but this was even less.
- Roxy Doll (9/5): -
- REANITA (6/5): -
- Jean And Kevin (8/5): -
- Shaddai (3/5): Terrible WiFi, Beautiful beach views - The beaches on this property are amazing, such fantastic views. The food was actually very good and the staff were relatively nice and helpful. The WiFi was out for our entire stay, you could not get any WiFi in the rooms and you had to come down to the lobby to use their WiFi which was also down majority of the time. Made it very difficult to plan rides, contact anyone. It was like staying on a secluded island instead of an all-inclusive.
- Pevehouse (9/5): -
- Mary (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jolly Beach Resort! - The location is fantastic - such a beautiful beach. The resort was very nice; grounds and pools were beautiful and well-maintained. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and the shower had great pressure! We were very happy to be given adjoining rooms, as requested. The food choices were well prepared and varied. The New Years Eve festivities were fun - the music was great. All the staff were friendly, patient, and accommodating. The internet service in our rooms was not good - sometimes we couldn't connect at all, which was frustrating. It would have been nice if the resort offered some activities (ie: trivia night or beach volleyball, etc).
- Cathleen (8/5): - Beautiful beach, great location. Rooms were outdated.
- Angela (4/5): Not so Jolly beach - Not much - the beach The front desk staff was rude, the place was run down, the elite island non-profit support via silent auction is purely a scam.
- Torya (8/5): -
- Lynsey (7/5): Amazing pool and beach, everything else is okay. - The beach and pool facilities are amazing. Fresh cold drinking water is available everywhere and staff are pretty friendly and helpful Rooms are pretty basic and the food isn’t great. The Italian restaurant which you have to book is not worth it. Food was terrible and service was so slow.
- Sarah (6/5): OK. Food was good but I felt uncomfortable in my room. Especially with the bathroom. - The buffet was great, the entertainment, and the grill. I loved the beach and the water attractions. The bathroom smelled funny. The shower kept leaking so water was always on the floor. It felt disgusting.
- Ian (10/5): Out of this world. We enjoyed ourself tremendously. Couldn't ask for a better anniversary get away. - The wide range of choices of restaurants, the food was exceptional, and the variety was impressive. The facility had a wide range of choices for different types of individuals, and the staff was so welcoming. The waitresses in the buffet restaurant were the greatest. The only thing our air conditioning unit was leaking lots of water. We reported at the front desk, but no one came; however, we did not make it an issue. We had a tremendous time.
- Richard (5/5): -
- Pole (5/5): -
- Malend (7/5): -
- James (7/5): Love the property.beach is gorgeous - Beach is absolutely beautiful. Bartenders June,Alliya , and Sill were awesome. So fun to interact with them. Everyone thinks the rooms are small which they are but me and my family just showered and slept in them so we didn’t mind.
- Barbie (10/5): -
- jason (8/5): - Loved it Food
- Maciocco (8/5): Amazong location and beach - Location, gym, food, staff kindness (especially Paulette at the reception and all the restaurant staff) with a few exceptions The younger staff at the reception were not very nice
- Jackie (8/5): -
- Elena (7/5): -
- Richard (4/5): Never again - Pool and beach were amazing Rooms old and dirty; have to request cleaning and supplies; food was sub par; staff were rude
- Brumant-Senhouse (7/5): First experience and it captured out special moments. Memories were created. - The cooking was exquisite. I must compliment the chef(s) on a job well done. The restaurant staffs were courteous. Hats off to the Front desk staff; she was courteous, friendly, extremely professional with exceptional customer service skills Was a bit paranoid wondering if there was a hidden camera next to the fire alarm.
- fluffydiva (5/5): - The food, cocktail, the beaches. The pool and the staff The rooms need to be modernized and less crammed
- Daikoiya (7/5): -
- Vieira (7/5): We stayed at Jolly Harbor for 1 night prior to boarding out kitecruise - Proximity to marina at Jolly Harbor for kite cruise Everything was fine
- Laurie (6/5): Go for the beach and low price and don’t expect much. - Perfect beach. Makes up for any other problems. Rooms are tiny. The hotel on the whole is very tired.
- jay (6/5): -
- John (10/5): Our favourite resort on the world. - Just love this place. Great beach. Lovely staff. Great food. We come back every year. Not for everyone. Amazing value but ageing gracefully.
- Olivia (8/5): -
- K. S (7/5): - Over all, I’d stay here again. From the staff to the food and the nightly entertainment. There’s access to the beach and it’s a long stretch of beach with beach chairs, huts and activities! The staff were almost always friendly and helpful. The daily buffet for breakfast, lunch dinner, never disappoints. At dinner time there was always a different cuisine. The restaurant on property is a must try for dinner too! Drinks at this hotel are the real deal, no cheap water down mix drink. The location was central to most places on the island . The mosquitoes!!!
If you’re looking for a luxury stay for esthetics, yea here’s not for you. The rooms are outdated. It’s an old hotel so I guess they can’t do much when it comes to renovations??
We also had issues with having no water to shower which made me miss sheirly Hights and I was not too happy about that!!
- Williams (5/5): - Beach was beautiful Very dated, hasn't changed much since last visit 17 years ago.
- m_sunflower (7/5): Very pleasant stay - Great location, easy access to the beach, pools, and the hotel facilities. The food was good as well. The first and last night at the hotel, the vent in the room made weird noises that woke you in the wee hours of the morning.
