Guest Reviews
- Dq (8/5): minutes from Hyde Park, a short walk to Piccadilly, a pub around the corner - The location was great: just minutes from Hyde Park, a short walk to Piccadilly, lots of great restaurants/cafes/shops nearby, a pub around the corner. It hard to find decent accommodation in London for 4 people, but Londwell worked out well. The location was also quiet and not on the main street, even though being centrally located. The imperfections were minor: 1. It's a ground floor unit, so there can be some foot traffic right outside the bedroom window. 2. It can be quite stuffy in summer (but that applies for most places in London). 3. The mattress boards desperately need to be replaced. 4. There's one floorboard right outside the bathroom that needs attention.
- Marko (8/5): Me and my daughters enjoyed the stay very much. - Good, central location. Easy to get around.
- Tom (10/5): property is fine, it could do with a little maintenance but that’s been really picky. at the end of the day you just sle - Location is excellent for shops and transport
- Gill (1/5): Awful accommodation. Good location. - Location Peeling paint, broken sofa, no dishwasher (as advertised), dangerous lifted flooring outside bathroom, mould and mildew all over bathroom.
- Julie (1/5): The sofa bed very uncomfortable. No futon bed as advertised it was a camp bed thin mattress - The area was nice but very disappointing accom
So much to complain about. Would never recommend this place or the booking company No blind on front glass door. Dirty carpet rugs, mould in bathroom. No PowerPoints in bedroom to plug in the bedside lamps. Hotwater and heater kept had to turn on boiler everyday. Kitchen exhaust fan not vented properly so smoke detector kept going off when cooking dishwasher as advertised.
- Desara (1/5): Bad -
- Lyndall (9/5): Ideal London base - Great location, quiet, easy walk to stations, restaurants and Hyde Park. Washing machine was very handy. Small flooring issue (reported) and only a double bed (queen or king would be better)
- Maire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved the apartment. Was located in a great and very safe part of London. Would recommend!
- Georgina (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (7/5): We would return but we were not overly impressed with the condition of the apartment. - we loved the location so accessible and generally very quiet surroundings Any attempt we made to get attention during the stay did not happen despite all indications that no question was too big or small - Not the case
- Pauline (7/5): Feels like more checks should be done in preparation for guests. I wouldn’t stay here again, too disappointed with the b - Location Flooring outside bathroom needed repair, bedroom too hot even with radiator turned down, bins outside unattractive. No shampoo or shower gel - this was very inconvenient as we had to go and buy (but over 25 bottles of hair conditioner). Lots of little spiders in the kitchen. Bathroom a bit of a mess with mould on ceiling and on shower seal around bath. No bed linen for 2nd guest but this was rectified after a few hours.
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, the property had everything we required and communication was fab.
- Aimee (9/5): Superb - Loved staying here. The decor in the living room was gorgeous. A little bigger than it looks in photos too, the area is really nice, lots of friendly neighbours! Would definitely stay again
- Chichie (1/5): Poor Customer Service - n/a This property cancelled my reservation the day before I was due to stay (I made the booking 2 weeks before my intended stay), leaving me less than 24 hours to find a new place to accommodate me during my 1-night stay in London. I don't travel solo very often so this tainted my experience as it was very stressful. They cancelled claiming my card was invalid, a card that was in my own name and processed payment at the time of booking. They also claimed that bookings indicating unusually large groups would be under scrutiny however, I was the only guest booked to stay at the accommodation. Therefore, both of these reasons didn't make sense, nor did they apply to my booking. When I attempted to call them to find out more I kept getting sent to voicemail; there was no actual way for me to get through the line (maybe they blocked my number). I resorted to messaging the property via WhatsApp and was told to send in my query in writing so the team responsible for bookings could contact me back as the WhatsApp was a property management line, they never contacted me. The only good thing they did was refund me but as it was a weekend the transaction was pending meaning I wasn't able to use that money all weekend as the funds hadn't cleared my account.
- Sarah (7/5): Characterful wee apartment in a cute street - Lovely quiet property in beautiful Kensington gardens Hot water stopped working
- Callaghan (8/5): Very good -
- Olga (7/5): They can do better - It was clean, and the location is great. The furniture was very cheap and the bed was not very comfortable
- Hannah (9/5): Superb -
- Marcus (8/5): Very good - Location
- Matthew (2/5): Unsafe to enter and exit property, scaffolding with in arms reach of front door. - Property covered in scaffolding, building works going on in apartments above so rest in the day is not possible due to power tools.
We had to walk under a ladder to access front door. Builders then started lowering tools and equipment from two floors above with damaged & untested lifting equipment in front of the entrance. This made it unsafe to enter and exit the property meaning we had to rent other accommodation for our stay as the chance of an accident with falling tools & material too high. You should really wear a hard hat to enter the property.
Terrace also not useable as blocked by scaffolding
There was no pre warning of the building works taking place, we reported the issues on our arrival to owner & Booking.com who advised at the time to seek other accommodation. I requested a refund as we did not use the property, but this was not given.
Booking.com also take no responsibility for unsafe access to properties although booked through their platform & follow up customer service was NOT supportive.
- Maddie (8/5): Very good -
- Niamh (8/5): Short and sweet!V enjoyable stay for 48 hours in London. - Liked it was walking distance to Hyde Park. V accessible by tube. Nice area. Bins (recycling, compost etc) and extractor fan not working in the bathroom.
- Jo (8/5): Very good - Location That nobody responded to my message on the last day. I had an issue and it was ignored
- Cheryl (9/5): Enjoyed our stay felt very comfortable - Excellent location very clean well equipped
- Lorna (6/5): London trip - Place was spotless, well equipped. It was a great location, 5 minutes from Hyde Park and lots of restaurants The sofa bed was very uncomfortable
- Brendan (2/5): Very poor -
- Steve (5/5): Pleasant, but nothing too memorable. - Location is the best thing about this apartment. The furniture is 100% IKEA and so is basic at best. There were no instructions on how to use the heating system, so had to figure that out. Pleasant, but nothing too memorable.
- Lina (8/5): Very good -
- Harry (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - wonderful host, very thoughtful and hospitable. excellent accommodation and very clean. great location!
- Lalita (8/5): Great stay - Location to transport and shops was great. Had everything we needed for short stay. Quiet area. Nothing but bathroom a bit small
- Lara (8/5): Beautiful area, great facilities, attentive host and convenient location. - There was a small hiccup, and the host went out of his way to rectify things promptly. Fantastic service. Toilet seat was broken which was concerning for my aged mother but the host is attending to it.
- Jenna (8/5): Great safe location, easy to get anywhere by tube or bus, small but cozy space. - Great location 2 minutes from Hyde park, bus and tube stations. Clean, just enough space for 2 adults and 2 small kids. Staff very attentive to any message or need. The property announces dishwasher, there was NOT a dishwasher. It was misleading to read there is a dishwasher when, in fact, there is no dishwasher. Shower does not drain well so water accumulates around your feet as you wash. Shower has mould around ceiling and many walls have peeling paint due to moisture damage, I assume. It didn’t ruin our experience and there was no smell, but some maintenance is required.
- Mariana (8/5): I would definitely recommend this place to stay in London for a few days. - The location was great, the flat was exceptionally clean and the staff was really kind. The flat is nice and we loved that there was a bathtub for bathing the kids. There is plenty of room for clothes which is good. Also the check-in and out process was very straightforward. The beds are not very comfortable… the double bed felt too small for both of us and the sofa-bed was incredibly uncomfortable.
- Wolfram (9/5): Very quite and convenient - Perfect location
- Keith (8/5): Very good -
- Jenny (9/5): Had a great time in the fabulous location but feel the cleaning staff let down what is a lovely well presented property - Location
Great shower
Great TV Used worn out washing up sponge
Dirty bathmat and cupboard
Toilet seat doesn’t fit toilet !
Exterior has junk outside and windows covered in cobwebs
- Pamela (9/5): A great stay in a perfect location. Would definitely recommend. Thank you. - The location and overall space & facilities were great. The bathroom is way too small with a tiny hand basin that is difficult to use with a cupboard above. Needs replanning & using the space better. Taking out the bath and putting a shower in with longer vanity.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place to stay. Great quality and good amenities.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Excellent modern news house, well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Excellent location with w - Modern kitchen and bathroom almost perfect. Only a few things; missing were tea-towels for washing up . The bed side lights were confusing as difficult to find power switch.
- Donata (5/5): Passable - We didn't like it beds. For 3 adults and 16 years old child, they were not comfortable 😢at all.
- Eilish (7/5): Lovely location easy access to the park, restaurants and public transport. - Location was excellent. We had a small problem with ants.
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wave (9/5): A lovely, cozy apartment in an awesome location! - Great location, close to Lancaster Gate and a few minutes away from Paddington station. The bed was comfortable, and the facilities inside the apartment were all very practical. The smart TV was particularly helpful after a long day of being out and about. The space was okay for 2 adults and 1 child -- the extra bed was a perfect fit in the room. We managed to comfortably fit two regular sized suitcases. I can imagine bigger suitcases would be an issue in terms of space to lay it out in the apartment. Be ready to roll your suitcases in cobblestone streets!
- Kaila (9/5): Definitely one to keep in mind for a short London getaway! - The location was excellent. The property windows face the street and the blinds need to be kept shut at all times for privacy, but other than that, the comfort and convenience were top. The hosts were always available.
- Donna (5/5): Not our best stay in London. - Our stay was satisfactory. Location safe and quiet. Boiler repairs were necessary to keep us warm. Two heaters were delivered late in the evening. My husband had to assemble. Three times repairmen were called before the issue was resolved. No compensation was offered. Exterior was untidy: three gray garbage bins, an old bistro set, an old bicycle chained to the chair. Not attractive at the front door. The bath tub a hazard. No grab bars. Tub very slippery. Written TV instructions would have been beneficial. Never did find BBC news! Garbage & recycling schedules should be posted. No can opener or broom in the kitchen. Would never return.
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Karl (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andreiutz (10/5): Great stay for family close to Paddington and Hyde Park - We liked the location very much, as well as the cleanliness and the fully equipped kitchen, everything we needed as a family with one toddler. The insulation at the windows was not great, but to be honest, that's a problem in general in England, so we just made do. The heating was perfectly fine though, os it's not much of a minus really
- Anna (10/5): The property is excellent. Very clean, well equipped, warm and in the great location! - Location is perfect!
All the coffee shops and restaurants are nearby
The property is right by the Hyde park!
The property is very clean. It has everything you need for the comfortable stay. The equipment is very good, modern and clean. And apartment itself is nicely decorated. The only thing is the bathroom sink could be bigger.
- Ilham (10/5): Lancaster Mews will be our 1st choice when in London - Quaint outdoor but ultramodern interiors. Location is fabulous. Safe & quiet Neighbourhood ; there’s Nothing not to like. Loved everything! Nothing at all.
- Noelle (8/5): Very nice stay, would definitely go back. - Quiet location close to tube, very clean apartment, well stocked kitchen, good laundry, convenience shop, cafe, and pub just up the hill, good communication with host. Small things. Not worth mentioning, especially since I didn’t bring to the host’s attention during our stay.
- Joanne (10/5): Beautiful apartment - Beautiful apartment, great location.
Hosts had left tea, coffee, etc
- John (10/5): Wonderful - Had a wonderful stay in this peaceful apartment. I was in London for work and it was exactly what I needed. Pleasant space to relax and do emails before my meetings and a short walk into Mayfair through the park. Very comfortable bed too and the espresso machine was a lovely touch. Excellent host who was quick and responsive.
- Katerina (10/5): Quiet gem by Hyde Park - This particular mews house is in a prime location, just a stone's throw away from Hyde Park. It offers a cozy and stylish interior with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The location is the perfect base for exploring the city. Whether you're looking for a peaceful break or a convenient place to stay, this mews house won't disappoint!
