Guest Reviews
- Muhammad Faris Azhad (10/5): 💯 - So central! Very clean They don’t refill the soaps
- Melissa (7/5): - Location is great and it was clean. Mostly there is nobody there so if you need something you need to call or whatsapp.
- Lotte (8/5): -
- Laura (9/5): - Everything was great, the room was perfect, clean and spacious. Really central position to visit the city and 24/7 stores very close. The owner was friendly, helpful, and quick to respond on whatsapp. I would not recommend it to those who need complete silence to sleep because, being close to the nightlife street, you can hear music, but it is not too loud. With the earplugs kindly provided, we had no problems.
- Magnus Northern-Lad (10/5): - Everything was great; the staff was friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. The room itself was perfect for short-term stays. You can't find a better location in the city; 24/7 stores less than a minute away. There are plenty of restaurants for every budget just outside the alley; some of them also open 24/7. The location is unbeatable. There is nothing to dislike, but if there’s something to wish for, it'd be a small table for the balcony where I spent most of my time.
Also, note that the fridge (kitchen) is on the ground floor, so you'll get some exercise if you drink a lot of beverages like I do, unless you don't mind drinking everything at a room temperature 😉
- Anna (9/5): -
- NAW HNIN THIRI (8/5): Affordable price ! - The staff is very friendly. The hostel location is perfect to visit District 1 by walking.
- Nandhini (10/5): Lovely - We really liked the place. Tucked inside the main lane but no disturbance at all. Cozy and nice place for tourists.
- Thai (1/5): No safe - No safe No safe
- Mikko (10/5): - The owner is really helpful!
- M (8/5): It was a good experience, and overall I'd recommend this hostel to others - The room was very pretty and the balcony was beautiful. The facilities were good, and staff was always helpful.
- Rebecca (5/5): Passable -
- Myra (8/5): Very good - I had the room with balcony, 3rd floor, really cute and clean. The host was really helpful and friendly.
- Jonas (8/5): Very good -
- Csilla (9/5): Superb -
- Les (10/5): Walking distance from party central - Room 3 on the upper level had a balcony which was a really nice little space. Inside was great, spotlessly clean and a great ensuite. Balcony space could easily seat 3-4 people. Some homegrown plants in pots/boxes(which I watered😄). Hosts are offsite but easily contacted and very responsive. 100 metre walk from Walking/beer street. On the busy nights on beer street you'll hear the music but it didn't affect our sleep. We stayed an extra night and had to change rooms so photos are from L2 which doesn't have a balcony.
Small property with 1 room per level so only 3 rooms in total so it's very private in a sense. Would I stay here again? Yes, 100% but if you're a light sleeper this might not be the spot for you.
👍👍👍💪💪💪
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Aman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saadbin (10/5): it is the best hostel room to stay for those who prefer cleanliness and hygiene - Cleanliness is the at par. The Best ever i found in any hostel in the world. first ever bathroom of any hostel I saw which has absolutely no smell or odour. Number Lock panel on the cabinets are too small and due to shining color of lock panel and of smaller in size it is hard to find and see the numbers to scroll to open the cabinet door.
- Kumar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - Friendly and welcoming staff, efficient laundry service. Clean rooms and toilet with soap. Comfortable beds with curtains and Aircon. Loud music at night due to location close to party street.
- Nathan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Deanna (8/5): Wonderful - The property was very sweet! It was a small hostel, tucked away down an alley very close to bui vien. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms and communal areas were clean, and the owner was such a lovely and helpful woman! Definitely the best hostel we stayed in on our entire Southeast Asia trip! You can hear bui vien, however to say how close you are, it’s not as loud as you’d expect.
- Chakaravarthi (4/5): Disappointing -
- Davide (8/5): Very good - Friendly hostess, which although she doesn't speak English, communication was made easy with Google translator. Central location, small kitchen available as well as drinkable water dispenser. Rooms have individual storage room with locker.
The location is right in the middle of Saigon night life, which goes in until 4am. Although you don't hear the music, you can still feel bass vibrations. So, if you're a light sleeper, bring good earbuds.
- Mirella (10/5): Exceptional - It was a great place in a small alley full of local houses, next to the bar area. Rose and her mother were very friendly, the hostel was calm, clean and cozy. Would totally recommend staying here!
- Theont7 (9/5): Superb - I liked everything.
The hostel, the location,the hostess.
Very good hostel and very affordable. Nothing.
- Megan (10/5): Definitely recommend - Great location, clean room just as in pictures, loved the balcony and the lady who runs the place was really nice too. Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Helpful and friendly
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Helpful and friendly.
- Sofie (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, wonderful rooms, excellent facilities, and the staff was extremely friendly. Can 100% recommend!
- Sagar (9/5): Superb -
- Jay (9/5): Superb - Rose was a friendly host. Central location, near Boi Vien St. Boi Vien gets crazy during night but the room was reasonably quiet
- Nadine (9/5): Good choice to explore Saigon - - Super easy (self-) check-in thanks to the detailed description of how to get to the accommodation. This also makes it easy to arrive late in the evening.
- Contact person available at any time via WhatsApp
- Large, comfortably furnished rooms including free drinking water in which we felt comfortable despite the noise at night and therefore extended our stay by one night
- Cafés for breakfast not far away. Recommendations from the host were just right ☺️ thanks Just a note: Due to the location in the immediate vicinity of the party mile, the accommodation is not suitable for everyone. It is very loud at night (until 4 am)
- Jenni (7/5): Comfy and convenient - This hostel was in a great location and super convenient for exploring the main walking street. The rooms were comfy and clean and with a max 6 person capacity, it didn’t feel overcrowded. The air con wasn’t super powerful and was largely blocked by the beds so it could’ve been a bit cooler in the room.
- Corlay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (7/5): Wicked - Really lovely staff, very accommodating The location is very close to loud music- I’m a decent sleeper but if you’re noise sensitive I’d probably avoid.
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Morris (10/5): As expected. - Since the beginning before my arrival I was guided by Mrs.Rose. She was very responsible in making sure that I arrived at the location, giving directions. Indeed, the location is in an alley, not on the side of a main road.
Mrs. Rose is very friendly, although not very fluent in English. But with the help of google translate, everything is fine. Regarding cleanliness, everything my fellow travelers said is true. No exaggeration. The bathroom, the bed, everything is clean. So I don't need to comment on it anymore.
Regarding the sounds from the walking street, it is unavoidable. Because it is a party location. But I don't find it disturbing, because it only sounds very small when I'm in the room. And if needed, new ear plugs are provided as a facility. But I don't need to wear them, because that sound don't bother me.
1 more thing is, when I suddenly had to extend my stay, Mrs.Rose gave me a good price as a customer. Nothing
- Juliana (10/5): Exceptional - Northern was such a nice place. Had everything we need like good AC, kitchen with basic utensils and the owner was 100% friendly. Only one thing we find out later, It’s a guest house without staff on it full time (despite on booking said hostel). But still being a rly place to stay on hcmc :) The shower had hairs all over it when we got there
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional - The room was very cosy and made me feel at home. Also Ms Rose was very kind and welcoming.will be happy to come back
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Rose is very friendly. None
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christina (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (10/5): Great value, location and room perfect - Top floor room with balcony. Great location, hot water, air con, fan, water and ear plugs provided. Good location and very friendly hosts 😃
- Vrwtr (9/5): Superb - We had a great time at the Northern Hostel. We were in hostel 2 (there are two buildings) and had a private room. Despite being close to the walking street we didn't hear any of the noise in the room. The location is excellent with many places being walking distance, plenty of restaurants and sights close by. The hosts were excellent and very welcoming. Absolutely great value for money. -
- Elisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabelle (10/5): Easy, great location, great host and all round fab time! - Rose was amazing and so welcoming! Bedroom was a good size and aircon was great, excellent location and super easy check in/out! Great value for money Walking street is right next door so was a tad noisy at night, but this was to be expected and didn’t affect our stay as Rose provided ear plugs!
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, staff was very friendly
- Delano (2/5): Very poor -
- Ron (10/5): Comfy, generous accommodations - Lovely little hostel on a narrow alley a little off Bui Vien Walking Street. We stayed in a private room with two beds. Excellent facilities with generous amenities. The photos honestly don't do it justice. So comfortable, cute, and very clean. Great AC! The hostel itself is very quiet and our host was very helpful and accommodating. Well located near lots of shops and excellent vegan restaurants. it's not far away from a very loud party area, so if you're noise sensitive, it might not be a good fit. They do provide ear plugs though.
- Gustavo (10/5): Cozy mini hostel (only 3 rooms) in the best location - Location
Value for money
Tranquility Nothing
- Eliza (7/5): Good -
- Kellie (8/5): Comfortable budget hotel - Staff were lovely. Very central location. Great food options nearby. Fan and aircon worked great. Cosy room. Good bathroom (we love having a shower curtain to keep water in the shower area). Our room (the private room on the 3rd floor) had a fair bit of noise from the nearby pubs and clubs until about 4am. Earplugs were provided by the hotel. Otherwise it was perfect.
Not an issue but there is up to three flights of stairs to climb to get to room (this didn't impact on score).
- Uyen (10/5): Good value for money! - The lady was very friendly and helpful. There's a kitchen with a microwave, stove top & fridge which is convenient if you want to cook something. The bed is comfy and clean. Overall, good value for money. The bed sounded a bit squeaky every time I moved.
- Alberta (10/5): Exceptional - Central location, very kind and helpful staff
- Elizabeth (7/5): Good - Lovely spacious and clean room, good air conditioning, plentiful water supplied! A great location for those looking to party into the wee small hours with the lively Bui Vien walking street just on the doorstep 👌
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giovanni (9/5): Very homely and friendly hosts -
- Esther (7/5): Good -
- Stanley (8/5): Calm, peaceful and relaxing. Party hard in the Bu Vien street and come back here for peaceful sleep. - Very calm and peaceful despite so close to the party area. The host guided me well to use the property. The air conditioning took some time to cool, but it worked very well. Since I stayed during summer, I had to wait for around 30 minutes for the air conditioning to cool the room. Although this is not a big negative, those few minutes were frustrating.
- Yanhong (10/5): A Clean, Comfortable, and Charming Hostel - I recently stayed at a small hostel run by a lovely mother-daughter team, and it exceeded my expectations. The place looks exactly like the pictures—clean, with great bathrooms, plenty of hot water, and excellent air conditioning. The beds are very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. Located right in the city center, it's also great value for money.
Although it's a new hostel with few reviews, people shouldn't worry about that. I’m glad I gave it a chance. The hosts are very helpful and responsive, making my stay even better. It might not be the most social hostel, but you can always meet people elsewhere and return here for a peaceful night’s sleep. Highly recommended for those who value cleanliness and comfort.
- Aganemnon (10/5): Exceptional - This place is spotless clean and beautiful, thanks to the kindest, sweetest woman I have ever met in Vietnam, she is really a sweetheart! And I hope she has a happy life!
There is everything you need. And the private room on the upper level has a very warm home-like vibe, it was the nicest room I have stayed at during my travels.
The owner is also a very nice lady!
As my bus left in the evening, I was also able to check out later, I was offered the late check out for 200.000 vnd but as I found it a little expensive for only a couple extra hours, it was lowered to 150 at the end, which was a kind offer, and it was worth it to be able to get a shower before my long bus journey. Unfortunately the music was louder than I thought it would be, there were days where I could not sleep at all, even with the earplugs provided and with the pillows over my head, and the next day I have missed out on all my plans as I was so overtired.
It doesn't really have a hostel vibe, it also only has 1 dorm room and 2 private rooms, if not for the extremely loud music, it would be a lovely family vibe guesthouse, but for the location I think it would be better redesigned as a partyhostel.
- Tun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorenza (8/5): Good stay - The hostel is close to Bui Vien walking street but in a quiet street, so it’s not that noisy. However, I could still hear some noise from that area.
The owner is very kind and helpful and the hostel is very nice. The noise sometimes disturbed my sleep.
- Tun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucie (9/5): Very nice hostel and lovely owner - The owner and her daughter were very lovely and cared a lot about safety in the dorms and were happy to answer any of our questions. The dorm and the bathroom were very clean. You could also use the kitchen and fridge downstairs, where also free drinking water and some free fruits or treats were available. They provided self-checkin and the location was very good because it was so close to Bui Vien Walking Street. You could hear the music from the walking street in the rooms but we didn’t have any problems with sleeping because we knew beforehand.
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were lovely, double room was great, no complaints. Down a dodgy alley, but all safe. Right in the main nightlife area.
- Nathan (10/5): Pleasant stay, would recommend :) - The location is great, it is located off “Walking Street” a bar and club street in Ho Chi Minh City and 5 minutes walk from the Central Food Market. For other tourist attractions such as the War Remnants Museum or Behn Thanh Market it’s around a 15-20 minute walk but you are sure to get distracted with all the nice shops, parks, churches or stalls you will pass along the way
The Hostess, Rose, provides clean drinking water, a kitchen space to use as you please, a small seating area for you to eat your food and a communal fridge for you to store your goods. There are also a nice selection of complementary goodies for you to take.
We stayed in the private Double Room. The room is air conditioned and has a nice balcony.
It certainly exceed my expectations for the price we paid! Great value! Given that it’s so close to Walking street it can be loud at night, but there are earbuds provided and we used them both nights we stayed and didn’t have any issues sleeping! :)
- Magdalena__pl (8/5): Cosy hostel right next to theWalking street - Very cosy and clean place, friendly staff, very central location. You have to be aware that the hostel is located right next to the Walking street which is the biggest party zone in the city. I could hear the music slightly even from the room. I didn't mind but if you wanna get a quiet night stay further from this area.
- Dan (9/5): Superb -
- Zhongren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (8/5): Great if you want to be out partying! - Noise aside the location was great! The hostel itself was quiet and didn’t hear any noise from the other rooms. Aircon worked well and bathroom was nice. The staff were super helpful and accommodating! I know the reviews and the hostel warned us about the noise, lots of hostels have street noise which is fine, but this hostel is behind a club which has BLARING music until 5am. I did not appreciate how crazy Vui Bien Street is before booking this place.
- Krzysztof (10/5): Best hostel in Sajgon - I highly recommend staying, close to the center, but quiet. self-service check in and fresh linen and pillow in your locker. Air condition:)
I Helpful and charming owner, perfect and quick contact!
Nice kitchen with free fruits and water :)
10/10!
- Yen (9/5): Superb - Good location and very friendly owner!
- Francesca (10/5): Great place - Very clean and tidy. The room had lovely decoration. The woman who ran the place let us check in a bit early which we were very grateful for after being on a night train.
Great shower, good WiFi, good size room.
Very central location near lots of amenities.
Easy to get in and out using keypad (which is located on the door handle!) The beds are a bit delicate. Be careful if you are a tall or chunky western-sized person, they seem to be made for vietnamese-sized people lol.
The place is located near the bar street so it is loud at night, but we knew that would be the case and didn't mind. We slept right through it. If you think it would bother you either book elsewhere or bring ear plugs.
Would be nice to have a fridge in the room.
- Roxane (9/5): Superb - I highly recommend it! It's a great value for money if you are a solo traveller.
The owner is very kind and helpful. Nothing.
- Vivien (10/5): Perfect! - Perfect hostel. The room was big and very clean. Amazing bathroom as well. The shared space is also beautiful and hast everything you need. The kitchen great. They also offer some free tea, coffee and snacks. The host is also very lovely and supportive.
You can hear little noises from the street but it was much better than I expected after reading previous reviews. -
- Mona (9/5): Superb -
- Seyoung (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and the staff are so helpful and kind! N/A
- Georgios (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): I extended my stay 2 times! - Take a stroll down a local alleyway to experience this quant hostel ran by Mrs. Rose! 🌹 you can’t beat this location, price, clean, comfortable and even quieter then I thought!
The people who I have met here already are life changing! What a beautiful way to meet people although there isn’t really much of a community space to hang out, there is to much to see outside! Location, comfort and quiet!
- Mel (10/5): Nice hostel near Party Street. - In the immediate vicinity of the party zone. Super nice and helpful owner. Rooms comfortable. Single room was a bit noisy at night but that's normal for this location. ...
- Mila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paulin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ton (8/5): Very good - The closeness to the barstreet The sound from the barstreet. There is 0 soundproofing
- Rita (8/5): Very good -
- Karin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mariami (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about this place was awesome- staff, clean sheets, comfy rooms, free fruits and candies. The only one thing I didn’t like about the place is its location. It is very loud at night.
- Georgios (10/5): Wonderfully cozy stay with an amazing host - The hostess, Rose, is the most amazing person and makes your stay such a pleasure. She had every day contact to provide all information about the city, restaurants etc. but also give you a glimpse of the Viet culture.
The room was spotlessly clean, the bed sheets so soft and the air-conditioning is a treat during the hot and humid weather.
The location is very central but aware that it's in the Bui Vien street, which is the party area and can get loud, but nothing surprising.
Overall, one of the best stays I ever had with the most amazing person as a host.
- Poornima (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andres (9/5): Good - Great location To much noise in the night
- Dominika (10/5): Great place to stay - The owner is really kind and I had a few nice chats with her. She always helped me when I had questions. Location is great, hostel is clean. Recommend a lot. It is a little bit noisy from outside streets (because you are in the center of the city). But it was not a problem for me.
- Chandeesha (10/5): Would highly recommend if you want a short walk to bui vien walking street, about 2 minute walk. Dorm was clean, spaciou - Clean and very cosy. Was well worth the price Nothing to complain about
- Corinna (3/5): Poor - The room is clean and looks nice. In the kitchen area you find free water, some fruit and can cook a meal, if you want. The room only has a glass wall and door towards the stairs. Whenever someone walks upstairs, the light goes on. But what bothered me most is that the bars in the neighbourhood have their music at an EXTREMELY high volume. Until four, half five in the morning. If sleep is what you are looking for, book elsewhere. I didn't get any.
- João (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place. Modern, clean, well equipped. Everything was fine. I just suggest clarifying the address to guests. Googlemaps will take you to the main street, not to the alley.
- Monica (8/5): Very good - Small hostel and the room was very clean. Nice host. Very central touristic location. Don't expect a quiet room...The music and the noise from the street is constant and super loud. They should really consider some double glazing.
- Andres (9/5): Worth it - Great location and very helpfull stuff The noise from the bars in the room
