Ivanna (1/5): - Not a 4-star hotel – very disappointing I had high expectations based on the hotel's 4-star rating, but unfortunately, my stay was a complete disappointment. Here are the main issues I experienced: 1. The lobby was dirty and unwelcoming. There were artificial flowers everywhere, which made the place feel outdated and tacky. 3. The bathroom had mold. 4. The minibar was a joke – the small bottles were dirty and some had already been opened. 5. The curtains were no longer white but a noticeable grey color. 6. Breakfast was okay, but don’t expect anything special. 7. The staff was okay. However, when I pointed out these issues, I felt real hostility. They didn’t want to hear any negative feedback and refused to accept my criticism. This is not what I expect from a 4-star hotel. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others.

They went out of their way to give us great information always with a wonderful smile, so helpful and courteous at all times. Upgraded us on arrival which was an unexpected extremely gracious surprise, we could not have been happier. The hotel is in a fantastic location and is a beutiful hotel we will stay there again when we come in February. Nothing all was exceptional

Supported change in our situation with flexibly helping book an additional day when our cruise had to be cancelled, looked after us, were polite and keen to help in everything. The hotel itself is located at a stone’s throw from all the key Old Quarter places and we were so very well looked after by them. Got given recommendations and also kept getting checked on for any needs. Really happy to see Vivian and team loving what they do and be really good at it. After a long journey and a tight travel schedule, this level of care meant so much to us. We were even given a room upgrade, which we truly appreciated...such a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The staff were incredibly attentive and dedicated, always making sure we had everything we needed and helping us navigate our travel plans with ease. Their sincerity made us feel like we were coming home, even when far away from home. A special thank you to Henry, who supported us throughout our stay and ensured everything was perfect. Also to Phuong Anh for her friendliness and warmth during breakfast, Ryan at reception for his professionalism and helpfulness, and Vivienne, whose sweet smile and positive energy brightened every day. This hotel truly stood out, not just for its comfort and location, but for its incredible team of people who genuinely care about their guests. Our travel schedule was quite tight, and we often returned tired after long trips around Vietnam. Every time we came back, the staff welcomed us with warm smiles, thoughtful touches, and a level of service that made us feel completely at ease - as if we were coming home rather than to a hotel. A heartfelt thank you to Henry who continuously checked in with us throughout the week and made sure everything ran smoothly, and to Phuong Anhat at breakfast whose warmth and kindness brightened our mornings. Ryan and the reception team were always ready to assist with travel arrangements, and Vivianne’s sweet smile and positive energy made every interaction so delightful. It’s rare to find a place where professionalism meets such genuine care. This hotel doesn’t just offer accommodation - it offers a sense of belonging. William (7/5): Decent hotel with lovely staff - The location of the hotel is great, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful - they are the best part about the hotel. The hotel looks nice and our room had a great view thanks to a free room upgrade. There were a few issues with the room such as the toilet seat not being attached to the toilet and not being clean, the light switch didn’t work above our beds so had to take the keycard out to sleep. The staff fixed these issues as soon as they could though and were so nice about it.

The room was comfortable and the buffet breakfast was decent. You were only given one key per room. This was awkward when one was sleeping and the other was awake due to the time difference and wanted to be out. The staff would kindly take you up and open the room for you but it felt like an inconvenience.
Charles (10/5): Great Hanoi Old Quarter hotel - Victor Gallery Hotel & Spa - The Victor Gallery and Spa hotel in Hanoi’s Old District was a delight to stay at. I was there for 6 night in late July 2025 and as a senior solo traveller I was very happy being looked after by Vivian and her team who assisted me in selecting excellent tours around Hanoi, recommending restaurants and coffee shops and even escorting me to reputable ATM machines. The hotel was located nicely in the Old Quarter, not far from the night market, train street and the lake. The spa provided a good Vietnamese massage and had many other treatment options. Although there was no on-site restaurant other than for breakfast (which was very good) there was a full service restaurant and rooftop bar at the sister-hotel across the street. I was able to order room service from this restaurant when necessary. The room I had (603) was comfortable and the air conditioning was able to keep up with the Hanoi heat. There was minimal street noise despite being in the Old Quarter (except the night Vietnam won the football, but that was understandable and didn’t really distract me too much). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel, especially with Vivian doing an excellent job managing an excellent and attentive staff.
